So what started with poor planning on my part, turned into an unexpected culinary and service delight. We were trying to make it to a 2:30 show at the Met next door, but our children, 6 and 4 were starving. Noticing the Spanish

It's hard to say what is worse in this place: the food or the service. The unjustifiably high prices are like a spoiled cherry on top. It's mindboggling how they manage to screw up simple combinations of the Spanish cuisine, i.e. toasted

Cons: had to leave too quickly to make a movie

The atomosphere is great, the food is amazing and the Owner is so lovely. He pays special attention to all of his guests. He'll also sing and bring a birthday guest dessert. A must try for everyone who loves culture!

Pros: Ambience

Cons: ????

The service was horrible and the food was kind of sad if you are expecting more than what a mid-western housewife would serve as a 'hot-dish'. My wife and I ordered $50 worth of tapas and were impressed by none. The only one that was

While the food is you typical tappas food (which has been the saltyiest I've tasted in Seattle) the wait staff doessn't really give you that feel you should be getting with these

Pros: It is close to the theater

Cons: The air smelled funny

This is the first and only tapas restaurant in the University District. The service here is great with the servers willing to explain and help with anything needed. When I went here with a group we tried the Sangria (good, but pricey...which is normal for most tapas places) and had a selection of tapas. All were big enough for everyone in our group of 8 to have a taste.

This restaurant successfully provides the strong flavors, fresh ingredients, and spice I expect from a tapas place...I only wish it wasn't so expensive.

I've not been to the Basque region of Spain but I have lived in Andalucia for three years and so I was excited to try out this Spanish restaurant last night. I was not let down. My girlfriend and I ordered a bottle of the house

Pros: authentic Spanish fare, great ambience and service, generous tapas

Cons: parking is difficult as its adjacent to a movie theater (i used the $5 pay lot)

I've been to BilBao on many occasions, ranging from drinks before a movie, to having a party of 25+ people. The staff is wonderful, the sangrias are to savor over, and the ambiance is truly joyous. The food is tasty, and well portioned (as it is a tapas bar). There are Flaminco dancers on Thursday nights, and a live two many guitar duo on Friday and Saturday that sets the tone for romance!

Try the restaurant on a weekend for the full experience filled with music, food, drinks, laughter, and great memories!

never tried the entrees, but have been several times for a drink before going to the metro. service somewhat slow, staff friendly, cocktails well made. the tapas were good, nothing to go out of the way for, but a nice spot if you have some time to kill before a movie. also has live music.

I have been several time for a pre-movie drinks, and 3 other times for dinner. Each time the staff, atmosphere, wine and food have been excellent. The music on weekends sets just the right tone as well.

Cons: Parking in the street, but not bad.

I haven't been yet - but from everything I've heard its a Spanish restaurant (Flamenco, paella, etc.) - so why did they name it Bilbao? If you want Basque food, go to the Harvest Vine.
