I have never dealt with a more shady company! He( Clarence) should be out of business due to his poor business ethics! I had a washing machine that needed repaired and called Hoosier Appliance. Clarence called me right away and diagnosed my problem over the phone. He said he needed to order a part but needed a credit card number. He charged my credit card $398.00 and never came to repair my washer! I have been calling him for over 8 months!!! He will not return my calls. It seems he is doing this to other customers as well. Beware!

He came out and diagnosed a broken freezer but said he needed to order a part. He charged my credit card before completing the repair and disappeared. He blew off the followup repair appointment and did not answer his phone, respond to voicemail or refund my money. I had to initiate a dispute with the credit card company. There are plenty of other repair places in the city, so I'd advise using one of them instead.

Pros: None

Cons: Took my money and disappeared

I have to say that Clarence is the best... I was very pleased with the service and although he had originally quoted me a price for the part that was needed the actual part ended up being cheaper and he took off the difference and most companies would have charged you the higher price. He was kind and courteous not at all like the two reviews prior to this one!!! Thank you and continue to use this company...

Clarence did a great job! Very Professional! I would recommend Hoosier to all my friends. They came out the same day and had the parts they needed to complete the job.

I doubt I have had a worse experience with ANY other company, business, or person! The service was awful, the people never on time, and actually downright rude. If i can guarantee one thing, they won't be in business much longer.

Pros: Nothing positive.

Cons: Will only cost you more money in the long run.

Clarence just wants your money. I had him come out to fix my dishwasher and he never completely fixed it. He did take my money. Do not use Comfort Doctor or Hoosier Appliance. Clarence is at both. He will not return calls or fix something correctly. 0 stars

Beware! This company is not true to their word. First of all their website clearly states as a main headline: "24 hour Service (317) 663-4579 Free Service Call With Repairs". Additionally at the time I was going to use their service they offered a coupon "Try Us and See for Yourself Why Most of Your Neighbors Already Use Us! $20 Repair Coupon ... for Visiting our Web Site".

When the technician came out he quoted me $189 for repairs and $59 service charge. I told him that according to the website the service charge was supposed to be free with repairs. He said, ok and got the invoice to start the paperwork. When he came in, I also provided him the $20 off coupon. So he wrote up the invoice as $189 + $59 - $20. I said to him, wait, the coupon is supposed to be off the repair, the service charge is free according to the website. The tech then says he can't apply both discounts (even though the free service call is not stated as a discount, but rather a policy). So at this point I just wanted to get my A/C repaired so I told him, obviously if he could only take one discount, I would rather him waive the $59 service charge instead of a $20 coupon. (Why would the site even offer a coupon if it does not include the free service charge? Who would choose a $20 coupon over waiving a $59 fee?)

So then he says, okay I'll waive the service charge, but there is an overtime charge of $39. I was just going to waive it, but I can't waive both fees. So I'm now questioning the ethics of this business. A hidden "overtime" fee for coming out on a weekend, which wasn't even my fault because I called for help on a Thur and they didn't send someone out until Sun. And to me, 24 hour service implies that they do business 24 hours, nowhere did it state anything about overtime charges.

To me this business is false advertising and should be stopped. They hope when they come out and start applying hidden fees you will just cave in because you want your a/c repaired.

I never received my product that I was charged for 2 weeks ago. When I finally received a phone call back after numerous emails and phone calls, they told me that there prices on that website were wrong. Not a reliable company at all. I advise shopping somewhere else.
