The recent years have not been kind to game stores in the Vegas Valley. Both Game Stop and Game Crazy have ceased carrying games for older systems. Game World closed its Charleston store.
But there's a new "best game store" in the Vegas Valley.
Play N Trade isn't quite a corporation, and it isn't quite an independent store. It's just the happy medium. Each store, while part of a bigger operation, has an individual owner and associated staff.
The selection of games at Play N Trade is phenomenal. EVERY generation of gaming is covered. Old and new, common and obscure, you'll find it here. Looking for some games for your old original NES? Hunting down those obscure game systems like the Jaguar or 3DO? This store has a little bit of everything. If you have some old or obscure systems in your house and are thinking about selling them because "no place has games for them anymore", check this store out first.
The staff is very helpful and definitely has a strong knowledge of gaming. Everyone I've ever talked to in the store has been able to answer my questions, and they're always willing to converse with me about games.
Prices are excellent. Old or new, this store has the best prices on games. If you're seeking a particular title, I can pretty much guarantee if this store has it, it will be for a lower price than any other in-store retailer.
Like most game stores of this type, they will by your old, used games and game accessories, regardless of how old. This comes as a breath of fresh air since stores like Game Stop and Game Crazy phased out their old stuff and don't take trade-ins on them anymore.
The store also hosts game tournaments, definitely essential for the die-hard gamers out there who can't get enough competition.
Final verdict? If you like video games, get off the computer right now and go visit this store. You won't regret it.
