I have worked with the team from One Hour Heating and Air (and their colleagues from Ben Franklin Plumbing as well) for nearly 10 years since we arrived in Durham. They are the BEST to work with. They are always on time, do a thorough job, live up to their estimates and have the most polite and knowledgeable team around. The one time we had a minor issue the company President called me directly to make sure ti was resolved. We were recently moving and their technician saved the day with the mechanical inspector - I couldn't be a happier customer and recommend them without reservation!!

After a routine service call, the tech told me I had a serious HVAC problem, stopped his work in progress, and was going to send someone else out to give me an estimate. He collected my money and went on his way. After talking with another person at the company, I complained that I never really got my unit serviced, so why did I have to pay? They apologized and said they wouldn't cash my check. Not only did they cash it, they never refunded my money. That was months ago.

This company seems dedicated to providing great service and ensuring customer satisfaction. They initially misdiagnosed a problem, but they bent over backwards to make it right, even refunding my money. They stood by their service guarantee. \r

I just want to warn anyone who's been told they have a cracked heat exchanger and was instructed to turn off their heat completely until the entire furnace can be replaced. Don't just get a second opinion, get a third and a fourth. Make sure they use a gauge to measure carbon monoxide levels before turning off your heat. I found that each vendor diagnosed a different problem (and some found no problem at all). The range was $0 to $4800 to repair, which is quite a span. I also discovered that my ancient furnace was still under warranty, even after many years.
