COMPLETELY SATISFIED!!!!!!!!

by javier a.

My experience at Dental Plus was first-rate. The staff was very helpful and extremely attentive. Dr. Roisman who did my initial assessment was very patient and informative. Dr. Halajian who performed my procedure was very sensitive to my needs and kept me informed. Before he began he explained what he was about to do and what I might experience. All this information was very helpful as I sat on the chair without any surprises.

After several days after my visit I received several calls on how I was feeling and if I was having any discomfort. I felt as though these calls were genuine and not a check the box type of process. I specially would like to thank Maya Johnson for this aspect.

During this entire process, I never felt pushed or pressured to have any work done. My care counselor Michi was very informative regarding the costs involved. I felt very comfortable and relaxed through out my experience at Dental Plus and recommend it to everybody. I will definitely return for any future work needed. I am proud and happy to call Dental Plus my new dental office.

AVOID - complete disregard for patients

by Lo H.

I was so traumatized by Dental Plus that I havent seen a dentist in over two years now! The person who did my cleaning was more worried about saying hi to people walking down the hall than the power tool hitting my gums and teeth. At one point, I felt like a fish with a hook in my mouth as he was pulling the inside of my cheek and leaning over to talk to yet another person. When he was looking at what he was doing he was rushed and hitting the gums hard. In addition, I felt like an arm rest as he was resting an arm across my chest with a heavy hand pressing down my lip. The normally 10 minute cleaning took over 25 minutes as he stopped a couple of times and left without a word of whether we were done or if he would be back. Even though it says no latex all over my file, they still used latex gloves until I asked them about it.

The whole place is more worried about your wallet and I felt like I was dealing with car salesmen. They pressure you to getting braces and whitening and there is propaganda everywhere saying how important it is to have a great smile. Best to avoid Dental Plus and find a place that cares about you and the health of your teeth, not your wallet.

Painless!

by Jules D.

I had a great experience and results at Dental Plus. I was uneasy about going to the dentist but I am glad I decided to make the appointment. I am diabetic and had a poor fitting lower denture. I could barely chew my food. It was important for me to eat properly. After my consultation I decided to get 4 mini implants for my lower jaw. I am so glad I proceded. Now I have no problems chewing my food. The surgery was fast as well as the healing. The doctors and staff were great and helped me feel at ease. I highly recommend Dental Plus.

YOU DESERVE THE BEST!!!!

by Suzette B.

First let me say, " I do not work at Dental Plus, I am not being compensated for this testimony and this is not being cut and pasted from another website in order to inflate a rating"! But what I am is a Healthcare Provider who is accustomed to giving and receiving quality healthcare and this is what is offered at Dental Plus. I have undergone extensive restorative, preventative, and cosmetic procedures over the last 12 years and I have without exception received state-of-the-art, extraordinary work. Dr. Roisman has assembled some of the finest specialist under one roof in order to provide his patients with competent and convenient care. What ever is needed it can be found in this practice! I have recommended and will continue to recommend this practice to my friends and coworkers. PRICEY???? NO! The quality care that they provide is worth every penny. I am not rich, and have paid for most of my care out-of-pocket. I have friends who have been to other Dentists and have paid much less, only to have their work either fail completely or need more expensive revisions. Do it right the first time - go to DENTAL PLUS!!!

Loved It!

by Julissa L.

I had a crown and my 4 wisdom teeth removed. Best experience ever. I like being able to be put to sleep because I suffer from a severe case of dental anxiety. Honestly, all of these haters writing bad reviews about this dentist are crazy. The staff there is great and the service rocks. AND I DON'T WORK FOR THEM! I work in Post Production!

Lunch hour cleaning! Cool

by Tommy L.

I got a cleaning during my lunch hour!I called to make an appointment and the receptionist didn't think they took my insurance, but did some investigating and called me back the next day to tell me that I was covered.During my first visit, the insurance gal sat down with me and explained what my insurance would and wouldn't cover and made sure that I understood everything before I went in.The visit itself was great! They took x-rays and actual photos of my teeth and went through all of the pictures to show me what was going on with everything.

Horrible Place

by Leslie F.

This place is just horrible. Look them up on the Better Business Bureau. They have an F rating.

I visited this place a few times and it was awful. They make you pay for procedures MONTHS in advance (which is CRAZY and unlike any other dentist). They are always behind schedule. They have a supposed "financial consultant" who tries to talk you into purchasing more procedures, whitening, etc. They tried to get me to have my teeth whitened (when I get compliments on how pretty & white my teeth are all the time). It's ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else.

And they write fake reviews for themselves to "up" their ratings on sites like this. It's ridiculous and dishonest.

I had my molars taken out by Dental Plus's oral surgeon Dr. Lee. You are the best! I was afraid it was going to hurt big time. Nothing!

Dr. Friedman explained the work I needed very clearly. The front desk always calls to remind me about my next appointment. Bobby the surgery assistant makes one feel that all is going well. Dr. Letrong (what a professional) gentle with shots and cares about how his patients look. He is very fond of his work.

Fo real.. I haven't been to a dentist in 20years. Imma 34 now and u can imagine the culinary and drinking adventures my mouth has been a part of w/o seein a dentist..

I really like the whole staff as a whole.. Jeremy is cool, but i think the whole staff made my 20year return a welcome one..

They are very organized, professional and have a great system down to get u seen and get u out of there.

Totally recommend them and I'm actually looking forward to seeing them soon :)

Biggest Chicken

by MexicoGirl

I was referred to Dr. Roisman 4 years ago by a coworker, whose teeth looked magnificent (no exaggeration), because prior to that time, his teeth looked terrible. I knew I needed work done, but I am (or used to be) the world's biggest chicken. I immediately liked Dr. Roisman's manner, very comforting and professional. He took x-rays and gave me a complete review of what needed to be done, immediately and long term. With every visit he explained each procedure thoroughly.
Everyone in that office is considerate and professional from the dental hygienist to the front desk

Gentle & Painless

by ByronMcintire

I was referred to Dental Plus by a coworker when I first moved from San Francisco. I'm so happy I found them! Incredibly gentle, and every visit has been painless. The doctor takes the time to explain each procedure and uses a cool little camera to show me what's going on in my mouth. My smile looks great. I especially like the Zoom whitening...what a difference!

Pros: Example: best croissants in town

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Highly Recommend

by williams19

Dr. Roisman and his staff are THE BEST! The office is clean and inviting and completely state of the art. There are TV's at each chair and every measure is taken to ensure that the patient is relaxed and comfortable (which is important to me since I am not a fan of going to the dentist!) The work he does is top notch and you can tell he takes pride in doing a good job! The hygenist is also excellent, my teeth always feel super clean when she is done - and no bleeding gums! The assistants and front desk staff are incredibly friendly and always have a smile on their face. Dr. Friedman was even able to get my 3 year old son to sit still for a dental exam and a teeth cleaning!!! And let me tell you that is no easy task. My son still talks about Dr. Friedman on a daily basis! My entire family loves this office!! I highly recommend Dr. Roisman to anyone!

Should be in Jail.

by Freddy963

This is not just the worst dental experience I've had but the worst health care or business experience I've ever had. This place is nothing but a racket to make as much money as possible off of innocent, vulnerable patients. You cannot sit in the office, or a chair, or be put on hold on the phone and not be advertised to about how you need this or that procedure. I had one of my front teeth chipped during a molar extraction and when I brought it up Dr. Roisman came in went over everything else that was wrong in my mouth as some sort of attempt to intimidate me or confuse me about the issue of the chip on my tooth. This is a perfect example of how they treat everyone as if they are stupid. They intimidate you into getting procedures you don't need and will attempt to take an x-ray before even looking in your mouth. Now I just want to get out and they have a credit in my account and they refuse to pay me back my own money, because they say I still might owe money on procedure done 10 months ago!
One more thing: most, if not all of the positive comments on this site are made by the employees themselves, no doubt as the behest of Dr. Roisman. Go to other sites and you will see the same comments cut and pasted. Avoid this Dentist like the PLAGUE!

Pros: Doesn't take long to realize you're being ripped off.

Cons: You're being ripped off.

At ease for once

by Parkerbarbey

I came in on a friday as a new patient with an emergency; in pain and in fear. Dr. Roisman examined me and very calmly explained to me what the problem was and what treatment was needed to correct it. Both Friedman and his Assistants were extremely gental and understanding which made me feel immediately safe and at ease. I am happy that I found Dr. Roisman and will be keeping him as my dentist. I am even looking forward to my next appointment.Thank you Dental Plus Dental.

Friendly and caring demeanor

by larryw01

I saw Dr. Friedman and was very happy I did! I absolutely hate going to the dentist (I know no one really loves it but I am so nervous/anxious about it that I dread it), but Dr. Friedman totally put me at ease. He has such a friendly and caring demeanor and constantly makes sure you are doing okay throughout your procedures. I had a root canal and although that kind of stinks to begin with, be he made sure Dr. Khalil was gental with me.They even called the next day to see how I was doing. They are extremely thorough, very knowledgeable, and very caring. I would highly recommend them! The rest of the staff is also very nice and efficient. I've never waited long there (and even if you have a few minutes wait, the waiting room is very nice and relaxing!) The exam rooms are also really cool too very high tech. Bottom line: I won't go anywhere else for dental service.

Best Ever!

by Cindylou1

Recently my 6 year old son broke his tooth while having dinner out. I got a referral to Dr Roismans I called the office early the next morning and the receptionist was so helpful in coordinating a time to bring my son in. We got to the office and the girls at the front were so helpful. Then it was time to bring my son to the back. The assistant was very compassionate towards my son. My son is a bit fearful and when the doctor came in it seemed like he made everything okay. The office recommended we use nitrous which was ideal, it was great. Roisman seems like he has a passion for dental work and he is just wonderful. It was worth the drive from Santa Monica to Pasadena.

Clean with Advanced Technology

by Ginger501

The office is clean and advanced technology. Dr. Roisman was very kind and attentive to detail. The girl who assist him had to spend quite a bit of time handling my insurance company, but was willing to put in the effort to make sure I got covered. Thanks again, see u in 6 months.

Crooks!

by Reviewer76

This place is as horrible as it comes. They charge you ahead of time for procedures they haven?t completed. I paid for several procedures, then got a second opinion and found out that I didn?t need those procedures. When I canceled the procedures, they took 3 months to return my money, and even then they didn?t return all of it. I kept complaining and writing letters; finally I got an appointment with Dr. Roisman, who refused to talk about the billing issues. Instead he kept standing by the diagnosis. When I explained that I was there trying to get money back for procedures that hadn?t been completed he claimed ignorance of the billing department and passed me off to a billing guy, who entered the office with the hugest chip on his shoulder I?ve ever seen. I had printed out exactly what I had had paid and what I was owed; he informed me that I owed THEM money because my insurance hadn?t covered everything. I asked to see a bill to prove this, which he didn?t have and couldn?t get. He said he would contact me in the next week to fix things. Never heard back from them and it?s been over a year. Unfortunately I?ve marked it up to learning a lesson?never pay for anything until you get it and are satisfied with it. You won?t be satisfied here.

Cons: Dr. Roisman is egotistical and has no knowledge of what his practice does with the billing

I would give it zero stars if I could

by Jopiedopie7

This place is horrible. I agree with all of the other negative reviews about this place - the long lines, the huge rooms, the impersonal service. All they want to do is TAKE YOUR MONEY FROM YOU. I made the mistake of paying for services to hold my appointment and then canceled it and now it's taking over a month to get my money back. And I have to keep hounding them to get my money back - such a waste of my time! Never go here!!!!

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Impersonal, long lines, make you wait 2 hours for teeth cleaning, want to take your money

I was not the typical patient because I had brain trauma years ago and everything is much harder for me including dental treatment. I had 8 implants and oral surgery at Dental plus they made me feel that they cared about me and my health. Dr. Freidman is a hero! I am very satisfied with my results and smile.

WARNING: READ THIS immediately !

by JessKu

Hello,

BEWARE. Please take the time to read this before considering going to Dental Plus. I considered assigning Dental Plus group to my dental health plan, so I took a lot of time to read reviews on the internet AND on my employer's internal dental guide. The conclusion is: BEWARE ! Seriously.

Concerning the internet ratings, you can check for yourself: 90% of the ratings are extremely SCARY. And the rest of the good reviews are probably fake reviews (some of them are evidently fake - how ridiculous ! even a child could tell...).

Concerning the internal guide of my employer, the reviews are WORSE ! ALL of the employees who choose Dental Care changed of dentist after the first appointments. Dental Care WAS THE ONLY DENTIST WHICH RECEIVED REGULAR COMPLAINTS. I read some reviews where the surgery actually went bad and the patient did not know what to do about it.

Note that, though I cannot give you more information as to what is my employer, the people who reviewed this dental group and put such bad reviews were trustworthy and serious people not used to complaining.

Though I decided not to go to Dental Plus after reading the reviews, I sincerely feel sorry for all those who go there uninformed. If you are a dissatisfied patient of Dental Plus / Leon Roisman, please take the time to write what you think about it on the internet or else where so that people get more informed about this extremely suspicious place.

Thank you,
Jess

Pros: They look nice when you try to make an appointment. Marketing and all.

Cons: cf. what I wrote above

Save your teeth and RUN FROM DENTAL PLUS

This place is TERRIBLE.

THEY WRITE THEIR OWN REVIEWS ON HERE AND THEN RESPOND TO THEIR FAKE REVIEWS.

How lame is that? Look them up on other websites, too. They use the same fake reviews. And their fake reviewers can't even spell. It's sad.

Cons: everything

******DO NOT GO HERE ! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!*****

by Outside2008

I totally agree with most of the reviewers on the site , IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. While in the waiting I was talking to a single mother who had a $12,000 dollar bill with this place even though she had insurance. I went in for a simple cleaning (which i didn't get) and ended up with them wanting to put braces on me. Instead of seeing talking to a dentist about my teeth they took me to two financial consultants(they double teamed me!) who tried to push loan applications and scare me about me teeth. when I refused to have some services performed(which they want me to pay ahead of time) they got all angry with me. This place wants customers with money or people willing to take out a second on the house. If you can afford it, go here and waste your money. I am through with this place.

Pros: Clean office.

Cons: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

Avoid at all costs!!!

by DrHumus

I should have known that a place that has its own financial advisors offices (3-4 of them) where these people work full time to collect your cash should have raised a red flag. As I went through their system, they eventually diagnosed me with "periodontal disease", which is ok, but the scare tactics that were utilized to get get me to buy into their program (which was EXTREMELY expensive after researching other prices in the community) were too much. It really felt like high pressure sells...from a dentist office? I wondered how a place could afford not just 1, but 3-4 full time financial advisors. Think about it, a majority of dentist offices have a secretary or dental assistant, who handles the charges, but also does other operations within the business. At Dental Plus, they have 3-4 full time people SOLEY dedicated to getting your money!
When trying to assess how long I had before negative consequences would occur (because my wife & I had a vacation scheduled in 2 weeks) for my condition, she stated, "...not long, I myself would get the work done before the vacation, if you wait until after your vacation it could be bad ".
This sense of urgency scared me, so when I left their office, I called 2 other dentist to ask them about periodontal disease, & they stated although a problem it is not as urgent as Dental Plus stated. One also stated that he estimated that more than 50% of people have peridontal disease (which was really common), & tried to reassure me that my teeth would not immediately fall out like they said!

As a health care worker, I realize the importance of a doctor & organization with the goal of having YOUR HEALTH as the most important thing (known as patient centered care)...
Dental Plus does NOT achieve this basic, yet vital concept as their top priority is MONEY, not your health!

This misinformation is vital as they alienate people, because as the general public & their consumers we trust what they say!

Pros: Service bad enough to make me want to inform others

Cons: Everytihng about their business practices

Unfortunate

by ansgalifeldt

I had a similar experience as other reviewers on this site. They attempted to bill my insurance several unnecessary procedures, which were very expensive. Once I pointed these out, I received a pretty defense reaction, but stood strong and had these charges removed.

Also, during a filling, which was delivered well in terms of the injection and procedure; however, the assistant in the room kept insisting that I open my mouth wider and after having to say it three times (sorry my mouth was numb!) she says that I'm "lazy". Never have I been insulted by a dentist or assistant and never will I return!! Its too bad, it began good, but turned out to be an insultingly bad visit!

Pros: gentle with injections

Cons: Unprofessional (name calling), attempt to bill unnecessary procedures

If you love impersonal service and ignorant management, go there!

by wangbomb

Having done several porcelain fillings, gotten my wisdom teeth removed and a couple of root canals, I have seen my share of dentists in the past three years, and none worse than Dental Plus. I echo what everyone says, this place is a complete assembly line operation, you see people in and out and get moved from office to office, on my visit today I saw a total of 3 receptionists, 2 dental assistants, 2 dentists, 1 "used car saleswoman" and 1 Roisman (not Leon but Randy). All in a compact 2 1/2 hours! In the end, when I left, I didn't even get to do what I intended to do, which was to clean my teeth! (provided it's my first appointment and apparently they won't clean your teeth until they sell you a car)

First complaint is the dentist, I had a Dr. Adrian, who was nice enough and used a small camera to rock around my mouth and show me what crappy teeth I have (appreciate it!). Then I talked to the saleswoman Carmen (or as other people say, the "closer") who referred me to see Dr. Friedman, who proceeded to tell me that what Dr. Adrian said is 1/2 Phooey, and that the root canal consultation she recommended will not tell me anything, and that "total reconstruction" amounted to a nightguard and a slow but methodical fix of several small problems (I appreciated this honest feedback, but what does this say about Dr. Adrian?). Then I go back to wait again for the "closer". What do I see? The "closer" comes into the waiting room and talks to another patient in Spanish in front of me for 5 minutes! I got up and went to find management, now comes Randall Roisman. He was a rude pr1ck who basically said I was unreasonable to expect a speedy service and that I was rude in requesting a cleaning this visit. At this moment I asked to be excused and got the heck OUT of this place! When you as a NEW patient is being treated like cr@p by management, you know this is a place to avoid like plague. No regard for customers...NEVER AGAIN!

Pros: None

Cons: Rude management, slow service, assembly-line feel, salespeople, irresponsible dentist, price gouger

DENTAL PLUS IS SURPRISINGLY GOOD

by karpinski

I read the reviews before I decided to go and let me tell you, I was not looking forward to my visit. But I needed to go. I WAS VERY PLEASED!!! My old dentist could not do the gum work that I needed and he referred me to Dental Plus. They took care of me in a professional manner. I was waiting for the hard sell that so many reviews said to expect and I didn't get it. yes, they tried to sell me on needed dental care but after listening to them, what they said made alot of sense. For the first time in my "dental history" someone actually took the time to explain FULLY why I needed what I needed. It turns out that my old dentist would have had to refer me to two other specialists and it would have taken me much longer to deal with my dental problem, but at Dental Plus they had all the specialists there. It took me two visits. I was very surprised at the supporting dental documentation that educated me on why it was so important. It was very scary that my recent problem could lead to heart disease. My old dentist doesn't have nearly the state of the art equipment or know-how. WHY WOULD YOU GO TO A SINGLE CHAIR DENTIST WHO DOESN'T KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT DENTISTRY WHEN YOU CAN GO TO A FACILITY THAT IS UP-TO-DATE?

Pros: VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE...NO MORE GUM PROBLEMS

Cons: NOT CLOSE TO MY WORK

I have been to 2 other dental offices in the last year. The first 2 were terrible! I found Dental Plus very clean, the employees were nice and the 2 specialist I saw were excellent. I have had more pain when having a filling than the root canel they did for me. My insurance covered most of the cost which was not the case at the other offices. So far very good!

Pros: Good dentists

by david24

actually am a patient since 2001 and just came across the website. I did not know he was on the net, anyways- I had it all done Cleanings, whitening, veneers, root canals and my wisdom teeth removed over the years I have been seeing them. The removal of the wisdom teeth went the quickest, maybe 15 seconds or so. Quite impressive. The Root Canal took an hour, but I have been told by friend that theirs took 2 1/2 hours. Overall I am very pleased. The doctors I saw had a great bedside manners and were very personable with no attitude.

Pros: Lot of good dentist

Bad Experience!!!

by annieman

I completely echoe what was said by sblake7 and NO, they have not improved! I chose them to be my children's dentist and regretted it completely. It's a total assembly-line operation where the same dentist did not see both of my kids (even though I had made two separate appts with the same dentist, one after the other). They pulled them and me in different directions and then gave them only a 5 minute exam. Then the "closer" called me to inform me of the expensive treatments that my kids will need. Since my younger one was nervous during the visit, they suggested sedation to fill the cavaties at $1,000! When I questioned if that was necessary, I was made to feel like an uncaring parent who shouldn't let money get in the way of my child's comfort. I just called to request their x-rays and was told there is a $25 fee for each and I have to submit a request in WRITING and pay the fees in person before they'll even start the process which will take 5 days! They have so many different people running around, you never speak with the same person and can't be guaranteed to even see the same dentist. Do Not go to Dental Plus in Pasadena!

Cons: Assembly-line operation, no personal care

Run, don't walk, from this place

by sblake7

Our family was with Dental Plus in Pasadena for several years. A real dental mill-- waiting room always crowded with dozens of patients, kids running amok, staff uncaring, you seldom see the same dentist twice. They must have 20+ dental rooms there, with technicians and dentists moving among them, not knowing any of the patients personally. After an initial examination (even if you just came in for cleaning), you're escorted into the "closer's" office (think new car sales office) where someone you've never seen tries to upsell you treatments you don't need (and that insurance usually doesn't cover). And then gets upset when you just want the basic care.

A really, really bad experience-- each and every time. This is assembly line dentistry at its worst. Lost files repeatedly. You have to explain problems over and over to different people.

Now-- we left several years ago and found a great dental office nearby. Maybe they've turned their operation around in the last couple years.

Pros: Zip

Cons: Assembly line operation, uncaring staff, high pressure sales

My mouth feels so much better!

by vrey

Everyone here is very kind and caring. They also have great customer service. I have always been terrified of the dentist and avoided taking care of my teeth. Coming to Dental Plus has changed my mind completely, and with their pill sedation, my bad gag reflex is a thing of the past!

Pros: Multispecialty, Kind & caring, customer service

Professionalism was amazing

by wstoneman410

I came in for removal of a molar and a series for periodontics. The entire body of specialists, assistants, and techs showed care and concern throughout the various appointments The delivered context, instructions, and follow-up everytime. Fear was the main reason I had avoided dental care. Now I can actually look forward to the next appointment with confidence, rather than fear. That's a nice feeling

Pros: professional, caring

Caring @ Compasionate

by mardee1

I was very scared of the dentist, but Dental Plus has changed this for me. I did one pill sedation for the treatment I needed. I won't do any dental work again without that pill! I had a very good experience. Thanks you guys....

Pros: Happy Pills
