        The company is difficult to do business with. They misdiagnosed a problem with our HVAC system first, then repaired what did not need to be repaired. They were willing to give me a refund, but only if I bought new HVAC system from them. I

        I saw on the news last night that local heating and air guys are busy at work early this year, and I felt the need to warn others before calling Dan King.\n\nMy A/C was just not cold, so I called Dan King, they seemed like a decent company, and had been in business a while. My coupon turned out to be of little use b/c the issues were beyond that, so they said. I was told I would need a new unit, and b/c of the new oil regulations I not only had to replace the main unit, but the outside unit as well. I just did not have that kind of money, meaning approx $8000. He pumped it full of freeon, said I needed some oil for the outside unit, made it seem I got a discount by showing me his book, $250 later I got a card and was told to save my money, it may not last the summer.\n\nSince I did not have that kind of money I sought a second opinion. The next guy came over, and the reason I was lacking freeon was that the coil was leaking. He went, found a coil, and $350 later it was fixed, and has worked ever since. Just for kicks, I asked what it would cost to replace the system. He told me I did not have to change both units, and even if so, I was looking at $4500, but just replacing the main unit, labor and all was about $3000. Enough said, don't call them. I will spare the tech's name.

He even showed he a video of the internal furnace with holes in it where the CO2 would escape. When I cam home, they visited me and showed me the video and I got suspicious. I found another contractor who came in to check it. He let me look through a scope into the furnace and we did not see any holes. He said it was in perfect shape. He also said if it did have leaks, the system would shut down automatically.

        This company has great customer service. I just had my upstairs unit replaced by them. Everyone has been so pleasant to work with... not to mention professional. I am very happy with my new system. The price was right and the unit passed inspection today! Couldn't of asked for anything better.

        I have had Dan King's One Hour Heating and Air out to my home on several occasions. I am a huge fan of both Dennis and Jim. They are very knowledgeable and honest. I don't think they would ever recommend something that I didn't need. I have developed a real trust with their company. They are always friendly, polite, and professional. They have replaced my whole downstairs system and as soon as my upstairs system goes out I am going to have them replace that one as well.\n\nI got 5 different quotes when I was ready to replace and they were competitive with all the other prices I got. They met one of the other quotes and gave me a better warranty and free maintenance contract. The installers worked very hard even though it was over 100 degrees in my attic, and they didn't complain at all. They get the job done fast and are always on time.\n\nI have nothing but good things to say about this company. If your looking for someone in the heating and air business you should call them.

        We called one hour heating and air after our furnance broke. They sent a technician out. And after only 10 minutes of checking our unit and us telling him we thought our inside unit was the one that broke. He told us that our compressor was bad and it would cost us $2,000 but they had a special going on that if you bought an outside unit you get an inside unit for free this was going to cost us $5,000 to $6,000. \r\nWe decided to get a second opinion because our unit is only 5-6 years old. Also we just had our outside units compacitor replaced and the unit checked. They said we had another 5-6 years life with this unit. The second opinion paid off because it cost only $99 to fix including the service call fee. This guy also was only there for 30 minutes and we had heat again. Our inside units compacitor was broken. I was told that units usually last 10-20years depending on the quality and how it is maintained. \r\nNeedless to say i wont be calling these guys again. I would recommend you get a second opinion if they are telling you to spend a bunch of money.

        One Hour Heating and Air was a pleasure from the initial phone call. The customer service representative I spoke with was awesome, personable and skilled in her work. The technician that was sent to my home was very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable! He is a great asset to the company! I would recommend One Hour Heating and Air to friends!

        Sales Team indicated that duct work would be included in the installation, but after paying for the new unit I was told that would be a very large additional cost.\r\n\r\nUnit specifications were not sufficient to properly take care of my home size.\r\n\r\nAfter installation, which did not include thermostat (should have)...the thermostat broke & I had to then pay for a new thermostat. \r\n\r\nWhen ispector came out, he busted one of the wires & when I called to have that situation taken care of, Dan King charged me once again for the service call, even though they actually broke the wire.\r\n\r\nI would seriously recommend going elsewhere if you'd like Heating/Air work done in your home.\r\n\r\nCharlotte Resident (posted in April of 2008).

        Pros: They respond fairly quickly to service calls, but that's in-line with all others.

        Cons: Over priced products & service, and quality of service is sub-par.
