This place has the best steak in the city! I don't know what the others are complaining about below. The service is friendly and attentive. Porterhouse is the only way to go. Sides are also good, but a little small.

I was a big Luger's fan and still am, however after going here the last few times for steaks I no longer want to take the trip into Brooklyn. To be honest this place is just better then Lugers, food wise, service wise etc.....

Horribly snobby and rude service. The food was disgusting. My Wolfgang salad was room temperature, nothing was crisp and fresh like a salad is supposed to be. The waiter does not know what a caipirinhia cocktail is. My husband likes his

Never seen anything like it.
We had 7:00 pm reservations. One person in our group is elderly and currently undergoing cancer treatment. At 7:45, we were still waiting for our table, standing in the lobby. I spoke to the hostess twice,

Pros: food, service

Cons: noisy

although the food was good, the service and athmosphere was anything but. We were a party of 5 and could not hear each other without screaming. The tables were so close together that I continued to be jostled by partons and wait staff as well, even after asking the wait staff to not bump me as they made their way through through the crowded restaurant. Our order was wrong, we had to ask to see the desert menu and had to ask for more coffee. there are many great restaurants in NYC, I'd find one where you can actually enjoy the experience.

This Steakhouse reminds me of Peter Lugers but good thing is it is not in Brooklyn! They serve steak the same way and it tastes very similar too. The portion here is huge so we just ordered Steak for 3 although we have 5 people.

Their creamy spinach and their shrimp salad are both very yummy. The steak is cooked just right. It was sizzling while it came to our table. They do not have Peter Luger's steak sauce, which I think is definitely outstanding.

This will be my alternative for Peter Lugers when I don't feel like traveling to Brooklyn!

I had a reservation for 8:30 on a saturday. Everyone in our party arrived at 8:40. We weren't seated until after 9:30. The hostess and the manager barely even aknowledged our wait. While the food was good, I wouldn't come back here because of the service.

i used to be a regular at lugers (went at least once a month). wolfgang's is basically an exact knockoff, though not quite as good. that means you get the brusque service, which is a lugers' hallmark. that being said, we always get great service at wolfgang's b/c we know the system ... order the bacon and tomato and onion for appetizers, steak for 2, medium rare (no matter how many people you have), cottage fries, creamed spinach, and then the hot fudge sundae w/extra schlag. i love that they are in my neighborhood and accept credit cards ... we waited about 20 min past our reservation last nite, which wasn't too bad (btw, you usually have to wait at lugers, too, unless you're a regular). of course, it helps to order a couple bottles of expensive wine, too.

Cons: the wait, even with a reservation

It's not the first time we dine here. We've been coming to wolfgangs for a little bit over a year now and can't get enough of it!!!. We were there last night. The place was jamming there was no sign of a recession here. We waited a couple of minutes since the Host seated us promptly. And the the party started. This is a great place to feel a real NY steakhouse experience. The waiters passing by with the amazing smell of sizzling steak.... UHMM couldn't wait.so we let our waiter order the usual for us:seafood, bacon and tomato and onions with roquefort cheese on the side. let me say that this combination is out of this world! We finished all in no time. All of a sudden our waiters cleaned up our table mess and set us up for the good stuff.Steak for the table all of us ordered medrare except for my 2 secretaries they wanted well done. It all came out was perfectly cooked, all sizzling and buttery as always(even the well done steak) They always take care of us.The sides were the perfect match. They brought us the german potatoes, creamed spinach and onion rings(really crispy). We then had the dessert"Fantasy" wich is a selection of the desserts along with fresh fuit and the wonderful SCHLAG. Wow It was an amazing time and hope to be back tomorrow with a party of 12 people. They may be booked but they'll acomodate us for sure, they always do. Thanks guys for making this business deal dinner a total pleasure as always!!!!!!!!!!
You'll be seeing us more often now with the holiday season aproaching.

After a wonderful dinner at wolfgang's I thougt about my doctor and then i thought it was really worth the wait!! took a double dose of lipitor just in case. Of course there was a small wait of 30 mins but c'mon this is a hot spot. The bacon was delicious and the tomato and onion as well. We left some space for the steak.Since we ordered Steak for 2 we asked the waiter to take the bread away and so he arrived with the best steak in town. PERFECT MEDIUM RARE nicely charred and super juicy, creamed spinach out of this world and the crunchy and yummy german potatoes(i love the crispy part). The plate was so hot it still sizzled for a few minutes. We then had the cheesecake with the homemade schlag and then it was time to go( we had yankee game tickets) Absolutely amazing and we'll be back formore. Thanks Wolfgang.

Pros: Excellent Steak and Service

Cons: None

For the past year I have met 2 friends once every month for a ritual luncheon @ Wolfgangs. We expect a perfect meal and that's what we get. The service is always friendly and professional. The steaks are prepared exactly as ordered and are among the best in the City. I would continue with the accolades but I'm on my way to Wolfgangs for lunch.

I had reservations and had to wait 20 minutes. The bar was very crowded and they stuck us by the front door with 2 children. It was very uncomfortable and quite upsetting.
Once finally seated, we placed our order. The service was good, but very unfriendly.
We ordered the rib eye, porterhouse for 2 and the tuna.
Both rib eye and porterhoise was good, nothing special. I've had bigger and better rib eye. The tuna was bland and boring, no sauces with it, just a hunk of blah looking tuna on a plate...my wife hardly touched it. Mozzarella and tomato- mozz. was good, tomatoes were hard and tasteless, obviously not ripe. Creamed spinach was bland and the german potatoes were burnt.
Overall- the food was not very enjoyable, the servicers need a lesson in being friendly.
Don't bother to make a reservation because they will make you wait anyway.

Hard to believe the difference between this location and downtown.

If you want a great experience do not bother going here - head downtown.

Not only is the food prep better you get service with a smile

I have never seen such a downright rude waiter in this city. Not at a nice steakhouse like Wolfgang's where you would expect to have a more attentive and professional service, when you see the Internet-side.

He rushed us, took our plates away when we weren't finished, and was practically throwing things around. No basic manners at all.

Our steaks were like coal. I ordered it medium and asked for it not to be blackened on the outside. The steak came rare, but blackened enough to have a charred taste. The steak itself isn't as flavourful and tenderly as I've had it at other steakhouses.

Conclusion:

If you are in New York City and you are looking for bad to worse service, combined with bad food, than you have to go to Wolfgang?s Steakhouse.

What an aweful experience. We booked a table for 4 for Thursday night dinner. Since we knew it would be busy we confirmed the reservation the day before. My parents were coming into town and we wanted to treat them to a special night out - what a mistake to pick Wolfgangs...We arrived at 7:30pm, right on time for our reservation, the hostess frantically searched the computer system for our reservation. The restaurant was very, very busy. Lots of business folks relaxing after a stressful day, the bar was hardly approachable because of the amount of people packed around it. The hostess could not find our reservation and summoned the matredee about a solution, he was arrogant and didn't want to be bothered, he was too busy smooching up to his business clients. I asked him what was going to happen? He asked the hostess why we were here (clearly unaware of the situation) and was told again they could not find the reservation. He told the hostess to put us on the waiting list - my jaw dropped...I asked what had happened to our reservation - she quickly snapped back and stated that "someone" had made a mistake. No apologies, no regrets, nothing. We were just left standing there, I went back and asked how long it would take for a table and again she snapped back and said that it could take 30mins up to an hour, she pointed us to the packed bar and ordered us to get drinks and wait. This was unexceptable behaviour and I started to get annoyed. I asked her again why they lost our reservation and explained that my parents were visiting and wanted to enjoy a good steak in New York, she rolled her eyes and blurted out again that "someone" had made an error and that we were going to have to wait our turn. I turned around and walked out the door. Never again will I visit this establishment, or recommend it to anyone...

Our recent experience at WolfGangs Park Avenue is the worst experience I have had service-wise at a restaurant anywhere. I will never return.
I booked 3.5 weeks in advance of Valentines day, rang to confirm the day before - they had lost the booking completely! No reference of first name, lastname, phone number. They did attempt to fit me in regardless which at the time seemed kind. We arrived on time (8.30pm) and were told there would be a delay and to wait at the bar. In the bar area I asked for water whilst we were waiting. The bartender SLAMMED the water down on the bar very RUDELY as if to make a statement about our choice. We then stood waiting for 20 minutes without a look, update or a comment from the matradee.
After noticing that others coming in after us were been seated immediately I approached the matradee and asked why we were been kept waiting. He shrugged it off calously and non-chalently saying "you can sit now". Why he did not tell us a table was ready after we'd said we wanted to eat immediately is ridiculous. He forgot. We were shown to a table which was missing a side plate and napkin. Upon the waiter bringing us menus I asked for the sideplate and napkin.. he bought the napkin only back and literally threw it on my lap!
We perused the wine list before settling on wine by the glass. We politely asked what red wines they had to which the waiter seemingly had no clue.. especially about their location. He basically wasnt interested, mumbled, and dismissed whatever we asked in an indignent tone. When we told him we'd be a few minutes longer to consider the options he RUDELY threw his hands in the air in front of us and other tables then turned & walked off.
Our patience for this restaurant by now was exhausted. Upon leaving the restaurant in disgust with ALL the staff we delt with .. bartender, matradee, waiter.. I still had not received a set table.. no side plate.
Abysmal service. Positively the worst - inexcusable on Valentines Day.

I know to many saying that Wolfgangs tops Lugers would be a sin but it does come awfully close. Their bacon app and creamed spinach were better than Lugers and the porterhouse was on par. If I close my eyes i could have swore i was eating at Lugers. Service was just as good on a crowded Friday night. Its not Per Se service wise but as steakhouses go you couldnt ask for more. Try Lugers because of the history and to use it as a bench mark but after, check out Wolfgangs and see for yourself how close it comes. Definitely one of the top steakhouses in the city

My wife and I were in NYC for the Reds and Yankee's series, someone recomended Wolfgang's, We made reservations two hours in advance. We showed up on time and were seated promptly. We were very happy with our waiter Giacamo, he made us feel at ease. He also helped us with our menu choice.

The food was great,

We went there dreaming a great steak. Although we had a reservation for 8.30 we got our table at 9:30 !What we got was overcooked or lets say burned steak for four of us. We had a table at the corner and there was no way for the waiters to walk that's why when they were walking around our table they were hitting or pushing our chairs. Check is very high for rude service and for a burned steak. Never never never never again. We did a big big mistake.

I would avoid spending your money at this place. While a few steaks in our party were cooked properly, those of us who ordered the filet mignon had rare orders served medium and medium orders served well done. The meat was dry and tasteless. The vegetables, in contrast, were undercooked. The draft beer was good.

You can do infinitely better at Bobby Van's or Del Frisco's or Peter Luger or Sparks all of whom actually know how to cook tasty meat and to order.

Without having to travel to Brooklyn for a great steak, Wolfgang's delight us with their aged meat selection. The porterhouse, my favorite. I recently was at his newly opened restaurant in Beverly Hills, I was impreseed by the service and flavors. Wolfgang's experience shows, he knows how to please the pallate. Additionally, the fries, the spinach and their pecan pie with fresh cream threw me off a couple of pounds, but who cares, I'll go to the gym, work-out harder and longer, the pounds will come off....but only until next time Mr. Wolf, I'll be coming for more.

I had friends from out of town come visit, since i couldn't get a table at last minute at Luger's I figured to try this place out. We sat at a nice table of 8 in the corner of the front room. We were drinking moderately priced reds - $70 a bottle which were towards the low end of the wine menu. Since we had plans to go out later in the evening we wanted to eat on the lighter side. So I ordered 5 appetizers for the table of 8, a porterhouse for 4 and a ribeye with 4 sides. The waiter told me it is a minimum of 7 entrees for the table, i questioned him but he told me if i don't order he will charge me $40 a head regardless. So i ordered 2 more entrees. After the appetizers i got up and went to speak with the manager - i questioned him about the house rules and he looked at me cross-eyed - he said it was a misunderstanding that there are no minimum orders for a table of 8 - only larger tables. He offered to buy me dessert - I told him we didn't want the entrees we were forced to order and dessert would not be necessary - anyway - we finished up with the entrees half of which were not eaten - and they sent us over a huge tray of dessert. My friends had a bite of a couple of dessert cause we felt bad about the waste of food and that was all. The bill came and the waiter made a point to show me that the manager bought us the coffee and dessert. I told him he embarased me in front of my friends. He said it was the house rules and that he was sorry. I reminded him that he made up the house rules cause the house had no clue what he was talking about. Bottom line - save your money - there are plenty of fine steakhouses in the city. The food was average, the service horrible - I am still wondering why I did that to myself???. That was the first and will be the last time I eat there. Please consider this your fair warning. Let the expense accounts pay their rent.

i have eaten here 4 times in the last 6 weeks and needless to say i think it is excellent. however on my 4th visit (last night) i of course ordered their signature steak as always, the porterhouse. but this time i ordered the "Steak for 4", in the past i never ordered larger than the "Steak for 2". the balance of Filet Mignon & NY Strip on the Steak for 4 was noticeably absent...hardly any Filet Mignon. I brought this up to my waiter and he looked at me as if i were nuts. I told him to raise the issue with the manager - the manager told me that the "Steak for 4" is mostly NY Strip while the "Steak for 2" is more of a balance. i said we should have been told this and therefore be given a compensation discount, he disagreed as i should have asked the waiter for the difference before ordering. but after making an issue he gave my table of 4 free desert (wow!!). i would rather have been given a discount and ordered the desert of my choosing or no desert at all as i was already stuffed.

so the moral of the story is, if your looking for a premium cut of Porterhouse here, do not order anything larger than the Steak for 2 - if needed, order 2 x (or 3x or 4x etc ) the Steak for 2. which is actually better because the steak tastes best when it is hot out of the kitchen opposed to sitting on your table for a few minutes. and there is no discount for ordering a larger portion, it still works out as the same price per serving whether it is the Steak for 2 or the Steak for 4.

My G/F decided to take me out for my Bday. I used to be a broker so I have done my rounds in all of the NYC steakhouses and this used to be one of my favorites...However, as we are seated, our server DANNY whom resembles a goat hearder from the mountains forgets to introduce himself, plops the menus right over our plates and when asked for the wine list gives me a mocking smirk. I can sense this was going to be a tremulous experience. We order our food Porterhouse for two.He slams it on the table .I realize the fillet part of this $83 STEAK is 4 pieces and mostly grizzle. Soonafter, I make sure to let him know that this is not up to par with the price that goes with the quality. He blurts out, "IT IS WHAT IT IS, THIS IS A STEAK HOUSE!" (are u fn kidding me) I call the Maitre'D over who resembles Danny's father to make him aware of the quality of the steak and his hostle response was, "If you want more meat I ll get you more meat!". Next he triedt to compensate us with free dessert and as I looked over my shoulder I had a whole passe of them laughing and looking our way. They changed our waiter Danny but by this time but it did not matter. When i pay 83 bucks for a steak it better not be all grizzle topped with attitude and slammed on my table. Happy BDAY to me. You sure made it memorable Wolfgangs. I will never return to this dump again EVER!

I often eat out, alone by myself and out of all of the "well-known" steak houses in NYC, I would say this is the worst. For starters it is way over-priced, and the steak I received was quite dry, even "janes" special sauce did not help out. I hope the quality of the food and service upgrade soon.

I thought the steak was absolutely delicious!! Went with my girlfriend and ordered the steak for three. The service was just OK, not great. At least they take credit card...something you can't say about lugers. i will still rank Peter Lugers just ahead of wolfgang.

The steak wasn't cooked the way I wanted it. I had to send it back twice. After that I really didn't want it because I didn't know what they could have done to it at this point. Our waiter wasn't that great either. I don't know if I'll be back.

Before i describe the food, I must say my whole experience at Wolfgang's is marked by what happened to me in the restroom. While I was finishing up and washing my hands, a cook appeared from one of the bathroom stalls, walked by me and didn't even make an attempt to wash their hands. I then had to sit through an entire meal knowing that there were tainted hands somewhere in that kitchen. I brought it to the managers attention and he did nothing. There is no excuse for this. The food was decent, but not as good as Lugers. I'd rather go to Brooklyn for steak.

Let me begin with saying Wolfgang's food was great - great steak and side dishes.

HOWEVER, I think this restaurant does not understand what "reservation" means. To this restaurant, 7 PM reservation means 8 PM seating and 8 PM reservation means 9 PM seating.. Every time I go there, I had to wait for at least 30-45 minutes. Please please and please handle the reservations better for your customers.

Our waiter seemed to be good, not too impatient and not rude at all, until when I was leaving. I and my friends had to split the bill and we used three credit cards and paid cash tip. The waiter followed us to the entrance only to reveal that he could not do simple math. He argued $240+60 = $280.. I told him it was $300. He again said it is $280. After arguing a couple of times, I was getting angry and asked one gentleman standing at the bar what $240+60 was and that was when the waiter admitted(?) it.. And then he started to complain that our tip was too small. Our tip was 19% since I only had $3 in cash left in my wallet to tip a coat check person. I asked him why that was the case. He almost yelled at me, "tips are usually double the tax!!" I told him I left 19% tip and that was more than 2x the tax unless Wolfgang charged me 10% tax on me. He still would not let us go, so I asked him how much he wanted more. He said $5.. I have no idea how he came up with that $ amount but my friends were watching, people at the bar were watching, and I wanted to leave this restaurant. I gave him $3 from my wallet and showed him I ran out of cash. He then retreated from us. People at the bar watching me arguing shook their heads and my friends from out of town asked me - is this what we have to go through when you dine in NYC?

Terrible experience.. Very unpleasant..

Pros: Good Food

Cons: Poorly handled reservations and a bad waiter

.

Let me start off by saying the food was great. No complaints there. And the waiters were friendly. But I am SHOCKED at how poorly the reservations are handled. Last night, there were easily 5 different parties for 7pm who did not get seated till nearly an hour after the original time, including myself. People even stormed out. What made it particularly infuriating was the blase attitude of the maitre d', who would breezily say, ok just give me one more minute, and that minute would turn into another 10 minutes before we'd even see his face again. Such malarkey! And his constant shrugging, which suggested what do you want me to do about it? And it was pointless making any inquiries of the hostess. C'mon! What's going on here??

I can come up with a few choice words for what the d' in maitre d' stands for...

Go spend your time and money somewhere else. This is a big city with many wonderful choices. I'd even trek over to the original -- Luger's -- knowing that they'll be brusque but timely before ever coming back to Wolfgang's. Pfffftph!

Cons: horrible maitre d' and reservations system, noisy, crowded

This is a small restaurant. They clearly overbook reservations - even for 7pm. Table for 4 last night took 1 hour to be seated - after checking with the overwhelmed hostess multiple times. Bar tabs are not small -- and so perhaps this is a tactic by the restaurant to drive revenues?? Wolfgang was actually there and we met him. Nice guy, but clearly not in control of the operation.

Service was very much in the Luger's style -- fast, surly, but professional. Don't expect to be coddled. Steak was superior. Dessert was phenomenal - chocolate mousse and cheesecake. Have to say the wait was worth it as the porterhouse for 4 was incredibly good and easily on par with Luger's.

This is where you go if you can't get a reservation or don't want to go to Brooklyn to eat at Peter Luger's. The steak is excellent. The wait staff was good, but we arrived at the Park Ave location on time for a 7:00 reservation for a birthday dinner and were not seated until 7:54 with barely an apology. I also felt like unless you were a regular, you didn't merit their attention. Another party with a reservation walked out after waiting longer than we had been there. Though the space looked nice, it was so crowded and noisy you could barely hear each other talk. I'll be going back to Luger's in the future.

One of the best steaks ever, flavorful and sizzing. Great service, great sides...ambiance is casual yet very service oriented. In fact, everything was exceptional... even the company.

45 minute wait with reservation!

I had a 7pm reservation for which I arrived on time with my entire party. The hostess would not check us in on time unless I presented everyone in front of her. At that point, I waited another 15 minutes when upon asking the hostess when the table would be ready, she says she doesn't know - her only job is to check people in.

She continued to tell people to ask the maitre'd who was very hard to get a hold of. After straining to obtain his attention, I was told it would be a 30 minute wait.

At 7:30, I checked again and was told they were running behind and it would take even longer. The maitre?d would not provide realistic expectations of when we would be seated.

Meanwhile, people who had arrived after me were seated before my party. AND, there were 2 open tables in the middle of the room which were not set up. Only after numerous complaints by myself and other parties, did he tell the waiters to set up those tables which had been available all night!

The wine is overpriced and 30% higher than most other restaurants.

The food is decent but absolutely not worth the hassle and poor service.

First off, Wolfgang's boasts the City's best business lunch with a pre-fixe menu under $30 that could feed Rosanna Scotto's fat arss. Furthermore, I'm a proud New Yorker and unfortunately, a personal acquanitance of jsmilgin, the author of the previous review. I've known this man for many years and I can attest that he is no connoiseur. JS, when was the last time you were at Luger's? My guess is 2000 when you made bail! Quit writing about things you know nothing about - we mock what we do not understand. JS also started his career as a french fry guy at McDonald's - major dolt. His wife also blew me at a Yankee game.

Had dinner at Wolfgang's last night (New Year's eve 2006) and am sorry to report that "Wolfy" brought the same brusque service and over-rated meat with him from Peter Lugar's. I have been to Lugar's many times (first time was in 1987) and finally gave up on the "best steak house in the USA" because of the lousy service (which is often rude) and the low quality of their "steak for two".......which is OK on a good evening and almost inedible on a bad one.

The filet mignon I had last night at Wolfgang's was beautiful to look at, but was a tasteless as paper......and I ordered it medium rare! I eat bernaise sauce sparingly, because it can eclipse the taste of high quality beef. Last night I had to use it all. And the bernaise was quite good! The ambience at Wolfgang's is very attractive and the service was efficient, but again- brusque.

As a native New Yorker I feel within my rights to add that too many of my fellow citizens are besotted by the "greatest city on the world" myth. They need to travel more! The best steakhouse in the USA may very well be in Seattle- the Metropolitan Grill, where the prime rib is just outstanding! And for duck? Try La Tour D'Argent.............in Tokyo! Sorry "Wolfy". Maybe try another meat supplier?

The Hostess was the nastiest person. She appeared bothered that we were there and completely unprofessional. When I went to ask he a question, she replied (before I even spoke) "Listen, I already told you..." as if she anticipated what I was going to ask. I left. It appeared they did not care about their customers and really could due without us being there. I prefer to spend my money where people value my business. Perhaps I am just one customer, but I am a native New Yorker, not just passing through once, and I would never recommend anyone to go where they will be treated so poorly at such a high price.

FYI....I have no idea how they got a good rating for being seated promptly. Ask anyone that's been there, even with a reservation, you wait an unimaginable amount of time to be seated.

Fact:s We made a reservation 2 weeks ahead of time for 9 pm (party of 2). The hostess told us to have a drink and that our table would be ready in 15 minutes. We checked in with her at 9:15, 9:30 and 9:45. Each time, our table was to be ready in 15 minutes. We left.
Question: What is the point in making a reservation if they do not bother to hold it (anyone else remember that Seinfeld episode?).
Experience: Been to numerous restaurants and steakhouses in Manhattan and have never had such an experience.
Recommendation: If you want a steak in Midtown, go to Keane's or Lever House (Michael Jordan's and Bobby Van's are also good). If you don't mind traveling downtown a bit, go to Old Homestead or, my favorite, Dylan Prime.
Conclusion: Wolfgang's likely won't be around too long treating customers as we were treated last night. With that in mind, if you are interested in dining here, you may want to go soon. New York has tons of great restaurants and a lot of them are steakhouses - try the others before going to Wolfgang's and then you do go to Wolfgang's, go on a full stomach because you may be waiting a while!

Cons: Customer Service: Waited over 45 minutes for table WITH reservation

I heard that this place was initially a private subway stop for one of the Vanderbilt's and it looks like it. Steak would be a good enough reason to come here, but they have the most food-gasmic thick bacon strips i've ever had.

Pros: the steak and appetizers

Cons: its price-ay. also it was really cold inside, like the a/c was perpetually on

Upon being seated, our party of six was served a basket of supermarket quality bread and rolls straight out of the fridge. Meeting our waiter didn't raise our expectations much either--no smile, no greeting--just an impatient sour face that wanted to take our order as quickly as possible. The steaks were good. Unfortunately, they arrived on sizzling platters that, obviously, continued to cook the meat way past the ordered doneness right before our eyes! We were warned repeatedly by the waitstaff that the platters were "very hot". A teenager at the next table yelped in pain upon disregarding the admonition. Desserts were also supermarket quality, and they sent one not ordered. Dine where your patronage is appreciated.
When you spend this much money, you expect professional service and ambiance commensurate with the price you pay.

Wolfgang's is a place where the big boys eat and the porterhouse is King! The service was exceptional! Our party arrived 10 minutes late and the host had our table waiting for us. We had 3-4 waiters through out the meal but never felt rushed or overwhelmed by their presence. Of course we ate the porterhouse for 4 (I'm sorry, you don't go to a steakhouse and order salmon) and it arrived at our table on a extremely hot plate and was cooked to perfection. The natural juices and fat made the steak tender and velvety. The creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and bacon where all delicious and full of flavor! Be ready to bring your earplugs!!, this place can get pretty loud and noisy. The prices are what is expected of NYC steakhouse, expensive!!! The decor is very unique and comforting with low, arced ceilings, ancient looking tile, and low lighting throughout the dining room.

The place is nicely decorated and the food is average for a steakhouse in NYC. The service is the worst that I have experienced in NYC. Our waiter failed to give us the proper attention, got the order wrong and basically ignored us the entire night. This was a party of 8 that will find another place to spend our money.

70% meat 30% fat. By far this place is no comparision to some of NYC high end steak places. We had reservation at 7pm and were seated at 7:20pm. Very Crowded and tight tables around you. Waiters are super efficient and super RUSH for you to finish your meal so they can seat others. Great seafood appertizers and typical supermarket style dessert. Pay a bit more and stick with the original go to SPARKS! OR you can save $$ and go to Outback on the Eastside for better values. WATCH YOUR WALLETS and YOUR BELONGINGS..
