Vines Bistro

Somebody put the fear of God into the waitstaff and other help at this restaurant. We liked it before and would like it now, except we visited AFTER the new chef came on board and here's what our night went like: 6-8 visits from waitress spritzed between one visit from the owner, 2 from the chef and two from the manager. Along the way we had less time to talk with each other than we did to the help. We so want the local place to survive, but take a hint, play it just a little bit cool. Your food is good and the ambience WAS so charming, relaxed and informal. I want to go back, but please let me visit with my family a little more, enjoy the food, and spend less time responding to the over zealous staff.

If you thought it was good then, you should try it now. Vines Bistro has a new Executive Chef (Aron Cremeans) and he has created the best menu in town! He's a firm believer in using local fresh ingredients, which I am also a big supporter of. The the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. My meal consisted of the rocket salad, pan seared tuna and the flourless chocolate cake. The salad was just perfect and I've never had tuna that was more delicious. The chocolate cake has become my new favorite dessert and I would recommend it to anyone, even if you're not a chocolate lover. They have a good wine selection and a full bar. They had live music last weekend too. Vines really is a complete package and has quickly become our new favorite place.

We chose Vines because a friend is going to Italy in a few weeks. The wine list itself is a conversation, heavy on the reds of course. We chose bruschetta and calimari for first courses based upon recommendations. Great choices, especially the bruschetta, noted for a balsamic drizzle that added a touch of welcoming sweetness. I had salmon and sea scallops, the special. Salmon was perfectly prepared, cool in the center, while the three monster scallops were enough to pass around the table so everyone could have a bite of the tender flesh. Everyone enjoyed their meals and raved about the service. We were fortunate to get one of the few outdoor tables and enjoy the first real night of spring in Cary.

A home run - tasty food, excellent service and a really nice atomosphere. We were rapidly greeted at the door, seated and the waiter was very attentive. Ambience exceeds expectations-- a tastefully decorated restaurant with private booths makes you immediately forget about the strip mall location. Both the chicken parm and picatta are winners, wine list is extensive, the salads are fresh and prices are reasonable. Cannot ask for much more.

My husband and I went to Vine's Bistro last night and enjoyed EVERYTHING! The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The ambiance was romantic. We definitely will be going back again and again!!
