I recently went to the new Apple store in Del Monte Center and was really disappointed in the knowledge of the staff (I know most of their employees are new since they just open a couple months ago.) But after a visit to Computer Works, I don't know why you would go anywhere else.
The staff was funny, and knowledgeable. I was surprised at how candid they seemed to be, directing me to a machine that would fulfill my needs, and not the most expensive thing they made.

First of all, I bought one of their custom machines for $2100. My motherboard went out six days after my warranty was up. Okay. no big deal. if it's the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm going to have an easy life. After I dropped it off, I was told it was the second computer "on the bench." I received a call the next day saying that they needed to order a new mother board, and that it would take 2-3 days. Two days later I called, they hadn't started working on it yet. Three days after that, still nothing. I was told "We're really busy. I'm sure the tech will get to it as soon as she can." Funny how I was the second machine on the bench, but somehow got bumped from my proper spot in the rotation. I figured i should be more persistent about things at that point. I called every other day for TWO WEEKS, and finally, finally, the work was done.
I get it home, plug it in, and surprise, surprise! Windows won't load. It keeps asking me to insert a boot disk. I call the shop(It's a Thursday at this point.) and the guy who picks up the phone is lackluster, to say the least. I tell him about my problem and he states, "Well, bring it in, the tech will be back monday, and She's got a full bench, so it might take awhile." To which I say, "I just had it in there for two weeks. I picked it up today after paying $300 for all the parts and labor!" He merely says,"Well, I can't help you. She'll be back Monday."
I hung up at that point. The counter help is apathetic and could care less about a customer's needs, and the technical department obviously isn't qualified to work on a computer manufactured in the same building. Buy at your own risk.
