After waiting in line for half an hour, I was ready to call it quits and pick up a tub of Dryers from Safeway. I'm really glad I held out and tried their burnt caramel!

Come for the daily ice cream favors featuring seasonal flavors along with a long line of people, stay for the artisanal cookies and candy

Granted, they are very creative with their flavors and the ingredients are top notch... but if you are a vanilla and chocolate ice cream guy like me, it's probably too much. $5 a scoop, plus tips, with 20+ minutes waiting in line is not worth the time.

This restaurant really is one of a kind. The frozen treats are really delicious. It is a gourmet place so expect to pay a little more for your treats but it's worth it.

Ici is pretty well known around campus. There is usually a long line, but it does take a while to decide what you actually want to get. There are flavors like ginger or cinnamon dulce de leche, which is the first time I saw them as ice cream, but it is more expensive than your average ice cream store. But their cones are really good. I would suggest getting whichever flavor of ice cream in a cone rather than a cup.

Ici is sooo overrated! Ici is like the Pinkberry of Berkeley- trendy, long lines, and expensive! Though I will admit that the Ice Cream itself is very good and the flavors are extremely unique(Basil, Rose etc.), the wait for Ici (I've waited over 45 minutes!) is ridiculous for ice cream and the prices are expensive, about $5/scoop and that is without a cone! They have a great location, right on College Ave., and are reputable in the area but unless you go at dead hours, Ici is not worth the wait.

This place is pretty amazing. My friend took me here when I went to visit berkeley and they have the most interesting flavors that you can taste test. Surprisingly the strange flavors were delicious. There's often a long line outside the store waiting to get a scoop of this unique ice cream

Update:
I just had their brownie sundae and I rescind my 'Just OK' rating. This sundae rocked. The brownie was fudgy yet a bit crispy on the edges (which is great when smothered in vanilla ice cream). At $6.25, it's not cheap, but I assure you it is worth it and can satisfy two people. The only reason I went was because it was raining and consequently drove back the crowds.

Previous:
Ici and many Berkeleans would consider it the bay's answer to Berthillion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berthillon) but I assure you it is not.

The ice cream is good, but not great. The flavors seemed innovative at first (meyer lemon, malted everything, plum, etc) but the basics aren't that amazing.

I must say the ice cream sandwiches are good, but at $4 they're a bit overvalued.

The lines are really way too long. I'm talking 30 people deep multiple nights a week. Also, the free sampling makes people take for-ev-er. It's abused and then some. My friend's waited 45 minutes. This is far too long for ice cream that's just ok.

So here I am at 8:00 PM on a Sunday in search of chocolate. Not just any chocolate, mind you, but good chocolate. Expensive chocolate with hints of exotic spices and far off lands in it. I'm driving down college and I see this shop with at least 30 people lined up outside and it says Ici. I have a few errands to run so I pass by thinking to myself all the while, that if I don't find chocolate, I'll come back. Boy am I glad I didn't find chocolate! I waited in line for 40 minutes and it was worth every second of it. I sampled the honey almond and it was better than anything I expected. The burnt caramel was out of this world and the chocolate ... wow! I can't recommend it enough.

Pros: Patient Servers, Fabulous Flavors, Good Company in Line

Cons: Long Line, but oh so worth it
