Houston Patio Covers

I just had a patio cover built by Bob Hamilton earlier this year. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Even though I had to wait almost 3 months from the time I inquired with him to have my cover built, once he started the project, he was finished in 5 days. It was well worth the wait.

Bob's price was not the cheapest in town but definitely not the most expensive either. I received 3 different quotes and Bob's was the most affordable and turned out great.

This patio cover looks as if it was part of my house all along. Bob mentioned to me that he was experienced in building things that were strong because of his time in the northern part of the US with the bad winters and snow pack. I guess if its strong enough to withstand 10 inches of snow, it can handle a CAT 2 hurricane. cover. I did not lose a single shingle off the roof of my patio cover during the recent storm.

I hired Houston Patio Covers to build a 14 by 26 foot patio cover on the back of my house. The owner, Bob Hamilton, is a conscientous businessman and true to his word. His employees were hard working, respectful, and very good at what they do. They finished the job in 4 days and did a great cleanup job before they left. The patio cover looks as if it were built as part of the house. The paint and brick were matched perfectly.
Bob was quick to respond to my phone calls and continued to respond quickly and answer some questions for me and my windstorm engineer even after he had been paid. I could not be more pleased with the patio cover, and I'm happy to say that though I had a little damage to the roof of my house due to Hurricane Ike, the patio cover was in perfect condition!

We are loving our new beautiful covered patio! We had a special patio SITUATION! We hired another contractor to do our patio, before we found Bob, of course. Well, he did an awful job and required money up front. We have since learned our lesson about that! A very painful one, I might add. Long story short, this other contractor did a nightmare of a job, didn't finish AND took off with our money. Well, we were convinced that we were going to have to tear it all down and start from scratch. THEN - I found Bob! He came out the very next day and got right back to us with an estimate. We liked him so much and decided to go with him. The very idea that he was willing to take on our project - we knew he was our guy! He started when he said he would start! He has the hardest working crew I've ever seen in my life! They were done in five days! Bob and his crew are such a pleasure to work with! I would recommend them to everyone! We were really depressed when this other contractor left without finishing and took off with our money. Bob Hamilton and his crew totally restored our faith in humanity! They are the best!

I can only hope that my words can convey how pleased we were with Bob Hamilton and Houston Patio Covers. We met Bob prior to closing on our new home. We knew that we wanted a patio that would accommodate not only our families needs but it also had to be seamless to the structure of the home. Bob was punctual, candid, and amusing. He provided us a quote on the spot and was also able to provide an example of his work. In the same neighborhood, he had built a similar patio cover to the one we had in mind. He had us follow him to the residence and introduced us to the homeowners. They acted as if they were old friends. It my opinion, it is not often people are still happy to see their contractor at the end of a job. That was a great testimony to Bob. He started the job on the date promised, His employees started early and worked late and they did an excellent job! The structure looks as if it was built when the house was built and they did it in less than a week. The company he referred us to for decking (STEC Pools/Anna) was just as professional and wonderful to work with. My hats off to a wonderful team. I wish I would have used Bob of Houston Patio Covers. Unfortunately, I found him too late - - I contracted another company and paid half of the money up front. The deck was to be finished in three weeks. However, nine weeks later he finally put a base for the deck done. Then, wanted the rest of the money. We said no we wouldn't do that and we haven't heard from him since! So now, we are out half of our money and a mess in the backyard. I wish I could turn back the clock and gone with Bob. Bob, Roberto and his team did a great job with our patio cover. They know their craft and turn out excellent work. I have a propensity to change my mind and so was making scope changes right up to the start of the project and about two days into it, but they accommodated my requests with only minor grumbling! Seriously, they had great attitudes and enough experience to advise me in what I'd be most happy with. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure the final product was absolutely stellar.

We have been meaning to write this review for so long, but we have been too busy enjoying our patio! Bob and his crew did such an amazing job on our patio cover. We had two other estimates and Bob's was not only the lowest, but totally beat out the other two. He also was the most personable and knowledgeable, not to mention referred to us by a friend. When we saw how beautiful their patio cover was, we knew we made the right choice. Our patio cover is a sight to see. The architectural design is just incredible. There is not a day that goes by that we are not sitting on our patio enjoying the evening. Even rainy days are spent outside - very cool! We enjoyed meeting Bob and his crew. It is hard to find honest and professional craftsmen - but we found it in Bob...don't believe us...come see our beautiful patio!!

Bob, Roberto, and crew were a pleasure to work with. They worked on our project (back-yard patio) in a professional yet friendly manner. A combination unheard of in todays cut throat society. Bob took the time to understand our requirements and work then into the technical challenges of the project. Roberto makes the construction look easy and one can tell he enjoys and takes pride in his work. The quality, value, timing, and attention to detail are excellent. Bob and I resolved issues with solutions that were mutually beneficial. My wife says I am the most critical person she knows. We actually got Bob's contact information from our subdivision email group and he was selected from out of 4 other bids. We couldn't be happier with his work. I learned alot just from reading Bob's Website, and after talking to him, I was sold. Bob, along with his crew, worked everyday from dawn to dust on our patio and completed it in 3.5 days!!! The result was beautiful and it is now my new favorite spot of the house!

Had the pleasure of working with Bob in Feb 08. He and his employees did an outstanding job! Everything was on time, the work area was cleaned daily and the workers were very friendly. Bob touched base with us at least once a day to give us updates on their progress and to make sure we didn't have any questions. Workmanship and professionalism was more than we could have asked for. Houston Patio Covers was one of 4 bids we received for a covered patio. We chose Bob because he provided the bid/design and also did the work along with Roberto and other assistants. There was never any confusion as to what was supposed to be done. Many contractors send a "sales guy" to do all the selling and they talk you into numerous upgrades not needed and than you never see that guy again and are left trying to explain what's supposed to be done to the crew that actually does the work! Roberto is wonderful and very detail oriented and has been with Houston patio for about 15 yrs or so. The crew was tidy and cleaned up every day. Extremely efficient. Good value. Tells it like it is. If we have any future projects we will definitely use Houston patio covers again.

Bob was the first person that we called for a quote, which he promptly gave over the phone. We then e-mailed pictures of our house. The same quote (with more detail) was sent back to us. We thought that was too good to be true, so we called three other companies for estimates. All three sent a salesperson out to our house, all three with extremely high bids (and no personality). We called Bob again. He came out to the house (not some salesperson) and looked around. It took five minutes because, as we learned, Bob is a pro. We then went with him to a job he already completed not far from our home. We were sold. Great crew, outstanding craftsmanship and a bit of humor. He even put up with my dad!!! We could not be happier. I've even had neighbors come by and say "Wow, it looks like your patio cover was built with the house". We wouldn't recommend anyone else. Bob Hamilton and his fabulous crew just finished our structure (call it what you will, patio cover or carport, its BIG!). . . . in under two weeks from start to finish . . . . and it looks like it has always been a part of our house. The finished product exceeds our expectations and our inspector was amazed by the quality of construction. They arrived on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up daily. We could not be more pleased.

Bob is a unique contractor because he loves what he does for you as much if not more than you love what he did for you! On top of knowing his trade, he is quite an entertaining character and extremely willing to please. PLUS he doesnt take payment until the job is finished and you are completely satisfied, a rarity in todays world. We highly recommend him. You wont be disappointedhe is the best around!

We visited with more than our share of contractors before we pulled the trigger on our patio cover. Connecting a patio cover to the house and tying it into the roof line is a big deal! We had one that didn't want to try it, and a couple of others who were willing to give it a shot but we just didn't feel that we had found the right fit until we spoke to Bob. He was confident in his approach and he did a great job of expressing the challenges and also the opportunities that the patio cover would bring. We ran into a few snags during the build out, but nothing that Bob wasn't ready to work through. Overall the process was very positive and the result was an amazing patio cover that came in on budget and continues to amaze our guests. We love it, and would use Bob again with no hesitation.

I can't say enough good things about Bob. He is a very talented craftsman who obviously loves what he does. Seriously, as the work progressed, he would become just as giddy and excited as my wife and I when we saw the patio cover taking shape. On the second day, he encountered a structural roadblock in the back of our house, but he managed to improvise a sturdy solution while still keeping a pleasant looking design (Are you sure you don't have an engineering degree tucked away somewhere, Bob?). We walk around our neighborhood and look at other people's patio covers which were done by the original house builders and are reminded of what a difference in quality between them and Bob's work. The experience with Bob was excellent, the work was done on time and at my convenience, and the patio was completed exactly as I wanted. The quality of work and materials is the best. Before contacting Bob my wife and I had two different contractors come out to give us a quote for our patio cover. Both contractors said that the pitch of our roof would make the job extremely difficult/borderline impossible. One of the contractors even recommended that we hire an architect because of the difficulty of the project. Bob came out and drew up some plans without any problems. His crew was clean, courteous, thorough, and speedy. We are extremely happy with our new patio and the job Bob did on it. We really appreciated that Bob and his crew did the job from start to finish without any subcontracting. He has a great sense of humor and even took us for a ride in his classic Cadillac.

We felt like we were in good hands. The job done by Bob and his crew was wonderful and truly looks like a part of our house. With some contractors you hear that they have to come back to finish something or possibly to start another job to leave you hanging, but NOT Bob! Hiring Bob Hamilton was a huge mistake... NOT!!! The mistake was in not trusting him from the beginning. After being taken by a couple of contractors, we were very mistrusting as we sought bids for a patio cover. We found Bob and Houston Patio Covers online. His web site said "no money down" and "get a quote now." We sent him the size of the cover we wanted, along with some photos. Within a few days our bid came by e-mail. The price was great. We thought this couldn't be true. We called him and said that we would like to go ahead with this, but insisted that he come to our house first. No problem, he came the next day. Much to my surprise, It was actually Bob and not some salesperson. Although it was raining and he had just finished working, he made no excuse and was at our house 5 minutes early. He went over everything with us and answered all of our questions. We thought we would test him. We asked him if he needed half down. "No," Bob said. "Just pay us when we are done and you are satisfied." Our patio cover is finished and it looks like it came with our home. We did make one more mistake. When it cam time to pay him, I said, "Do we need to add tax to this?" Bob explained that there is not tax on fixed property. My patio cover is great. I obtained a quote via email from Bob Hamilton. I also obtained quotes from two other people, but picked Houston Patio Covers based on price, conversations I had with Bob, and looking at pictures on line of his other jobs. Bob quickly prepared the homeowners sketch once I gave him the go ahead. No problems getting HOA approval. Bob had the patio cover built in three days. It took a few more days to get the concrete poured and some brick work done, so total time from start to finish was a week and half! The craftsmanship was excellent. It turned out much nicer than I could have hoped for. The price at the end of the job was exactly what he told me in the initial quote! I would highly recommend Bob and his crew.

This summer, my wife and I decided to add a covered patio to our home, after searching on the internet we found Houston Patio Covers. Bob Hamilton came out to meet with us, discuss our options and give us the exact price of the project (not an estimate, but the exact total we would pay at the time of completion) We were very picky about what the details and what we wanted, to our surprise, Bob was even more detailed oriented than us; he had wonderful suggestions and was able to incorporate everything we wanted. We knew instantly that Bob and his crew were the ones to trust with our project. The next morning, via email, we received a blue print of the job and all of the information we needed to submit to the HOA. Without any delay we received approval from the neighborhood association, Bob and he very polite, professional crew began work immediately. The project was completed in 3 1/2 days. I had to leave town during the project and Bob stayed in constant contact over the phone to keep me updated on the progress of the patio. When I returned home, I was amazed; the patio cover was more than my wife and I could have dreamed. The details and craftsmanship set the patio far above any that I have seen. We now use our backyard daily and because of the fans and speaker system that Bob suggested along with the amazing customized look of the patio, our home is the place all our fiends gather. It is without any reservations that I have since recommended Houston Patio Covers to my family and friends, and will continue to do so. Bob Hamilton and his crew are masters of their craft. They are professional and hardworking, they will not quit until the job is done and take on only one customer at a time. Through the entire project my satisfaction was their priority.
