I was at Duvet on Saturday, 11/22/09 and today I checked my bank statement and realized they posted two charges. My drinks came to a total of $28.00 and I see two charges, one for $50 and another for $100. I called and they were closed but they have not heard the last of me! I know the economy is bad but geez! The $30 bucks or so they charge a head to get into the joint is not enough? They gotta rob you blind by adding extra charges onto your bill? This is clearly fraud.

I'm not sure if I should trust all these negative comments that I see for Duvet because ppl who are having a good time don't usually take the time to write reviews. I mean if the club disses you because you don't adhere to the dresscode, is that not your fault? These same ppl who got "dissed" and will stop at nothing to write complaints about the venue.

I went with 3 of my girls and the line was really long -at first. But it moved rather quickly and we got inside for free before 12am and the party was already rockin! Drinks were around $12 which is the norm and we partied til the break of dawn! There were ppl on the beds, on the dance floor, around the huge bar and on the stage dancing like there was no tomorrow. I had a great time and enjoyed the vibes!

I'm not quite sure what these negative comments are coming from but if you're not having a good time then don't deflamate the club...blame yourselves!

Damn it, this place was all bad.

The story:
I'm visiting nyc from san fran, this place sounded like it had a unique idea, so we gave it a shot. We had 4 guys and 3 girls. If you have no girls then you have to buy bottles. We arrived at 10:15, we got in by 11, that's okay. The bed idea is cool but duvet really dropped the ball, their sheets are dirty and ripped, not cool. i opened a tab and had a good time drinking, the drinks were okay. At the end of the night they billed me for items i did not buy, they wouldn't listen to me and threated to call the police, which was okay with me, but i had to fly back to sf in the morning and they wouldn't return my ID without me signing the bill, so i signed. Plus they added an extra 20% gratuity charge. My $150 worth of drinks turned into $250, fail. Now for the pro/con breakdown...

Pros:
- The door guy was nice. oddly he let the guys in before the girls, hah, never had that happen before but i'll take it.

Cons:
- outside in line: Semi-long wait
- Music: the dj was simply bad. there was no rhythm, the genres bounced around at random from dance to hiphop to dance back to reggae. At some points people stopped dancing because we had all lost our groove.
- Decor: No jellyfish in their tank like they say they have. Bed sheets are definitely not white, it's a little gross.
- Service: the wait time for drinks was okay, 5 minutes. At the end of the night i saw that they charged me for drinks that i did not order, plus added a 20% gratuity tax at the end of the night. BEWARE: if you open a tab they will add a gratuity tax and possibly add drinks to your bill; i have talked to several people now that have had this happen. On top of this my bank statement now shows that they are trying to charge double what the bill says. 2 major fails! Unforntunately i'm forced to file complaints with the credit card company and B B B.

Overall:
- This place is nothing, it's below average in every catagory, it's litterally a waste of time plus a little risky because of their billing shadiness.

If anyone else has had them add bogus drinks or falsify your bill, please contact me.

DUVET is one of the best parties I've ever been to in a long time! I mean, what club in NYC has beds as its tables? It's a totally unique experience! My girls & I went this past Saturday through a promoter called "theKONGLIST" and next thing you know, we all kicked-off our shoes and were jumping up & down on beds all night long! There's a huge bar that looks like blocks of ice, awesome music being spun by interchanging DJ's & a beautiful "mixed" crowd...DUVET is one of hottest parties I've been to in a long time!!

I had heard so much about this place, and I finally went. I was having fun, I mean first you have to make it past the bouncer, he yells at everyone, and is extremely rude. We were sitting VIP and even though we had paid hundreds of dollars the staff barely came back to help. On top of that, they automatically include gratuity (20%--and they include that on drinks even if you buy ONE beer at the bar) and a couple of people in my group failed to see that and ended up leaving tips in addition to gratuity. They tried to call to get their money back and no one was willing to listen. This place will scam you. Don't be fooled by thinking their drinks are cheaper. By including 20% gratuity, it's the same as everywhere else!

I have been to Duvet several times with my friends and every time we go we have a great time! The atmosphere is just FUN! When you walk in you see all these lights and this amazingly beautiful bar and hear this music and you feel like it's pumping through your body. All you want to do is dance! And that's exactly what we did all night. We were drinking and dancing all night. We had the best time!

While visiting NYC, June '09; we wanted to go to an upscale club in the city. A friend had gotten us passes for Duvet. We were given the run around while at least 15 different staff members repeatedly told us to ?wait here, I'll have to check?. For passes that guaranteed us "no line" we were told we had to stand in line. Our passes also gave us 1 hour open bar...again more than one person had to be asked and we were given a vodka drink that either had no liquor at all or was noticeably watered down. Upon entrance, ecurity had taken away a pair of eyebrow tweezers which I had been told I would get back when I left. When we tried to leave out of doors clearly marked EXIT, we were chased and rudely pointed to another door. I asked for my property to be returned as I had been told. I was told everything from just NO to that stuff has been thrown away already, again by about 10 different staff members, each one with a different story. One of my party was able to re enter via the street entrance and security that had taken the items did try to give us back our property (which had not been thrown away) but did not give back the right items and by the time we realized, it was too late.
Management needs to get their act together: not every patron is brainless or too inebriated to not care about being mistreated.

I went to club duvet for my last night out with 9 other friends. We went through a website called NYLastNightOut. The website is suppose to give you a hour pole dancing class, a nice limo and the rest of the night at any club you choose. Well I chose club Duvet. And let me tell you those men made me feel like the bottom of their shoes. Dirt. First I go to the front of the line, because I paid the website in full to have VIP entrance. I gave the bouncer the name of the lady the Limo guy told me to. But it's like as soon as he seen me and the girls walking up, he started yelling, all VIP entrances is closed, we're not excepting big groups. All I can think of is Y? I already paid. So I go to the bouncer and I ask him, why can't we get in I paid my money for this? He yelled and said, get off the line, you're not getting in- go stand over there! I was just in shock. Could not believe someone could be so nasty. Mind you I had on my girl last night out boa, the crown, with the veil. How could you treat a bride-to-be like that on her last night out?? Bottom line, I never got in, never got an apology, from the limo guy, from the people from the website, or my money!!!! So don't waist your time on a club like that when there are so many more in NYC!

Duvet is such a beautiful club. We really enjoyed our time here. The ice bar is great... I've never seen anything like it, the beds are so much fun and we got the bed all night because we did bottle service, music was great... they played everything from dance to hip/hop to throw backs, and they have all these different colored lights everywhere... totally love it. Everyone was so nice and friendly from the doorman, to the bouncers, to the wait staff, to the bartenders. I had a great and fun experience!

The doormen are under some notion that it is ok or cool to be rude, crude, stupid, and pretentious. If you make it through this long and boring line ? you now have to be submitted to the closest thing to a cavity search I have ever had ? far worse than the airports. If you make it through the security check ? you now get to pay the cover ? which isn?t cheap.

In the club there are two rooms upstairs ? (i) the ice bar, and the (ii) bedroom, and one room in the basement ? all beds. The ice bar is got a really cool design and the bartenders are nice folks ? service with a smile ? that is the best thing about this place.

The bedrooms are a silly gimmick ? do you really want to lie on a dirty bed fully clothed with your date in a room with a bunch of strangers ? and try to have a conversation while being bombarded with lousy hip-hop music. The basement smelled like ? a basement. Then of course there is the criminally mobile getto crowd the ownership panders too. A great bunch. RIP - Next.

Don't waste your time on Duvet. Plenty of other clubs/lounges with a better atmosphere and crowd. Line is ridiculous, bouncers are rude, and overall the crowd is pretty bad. Not worth the $20 cover to get in. I will not go again.

Duvet is such a beautiful club. Why would anyone want to party elsewhere when they can party on beds. It's like being at home, but only better! It was my first time here and I truly enjoyed it. There was a very long line to get in, but once we were in it was great! The people were very nice and explained how to get a bed; which you had to buy bottles; which we did. We did not want to leave because we were having so much fun! I never really thought of partying and dancing on beds, but it really works!! I also loved the ice bar and the bathrooms. They were very very cool! Not what I expected for a NYC club. Next time I am in NY I am 1000% coming here.

I've been to Duvet several times and every time i go i have such a great time. When we came up to the line we were 5 girls and 4 guys. They checked our ID and got us right in. When we were drinking at the bar and the bartenders were so cute and friendly. Afterwards we decided to buy bottles and get a bed. It was SO awesome we really partied like rock stars! the waitress was very kind and was helping us so we kept on buying bottles. We truly danced the night away. It you want to have a great party and be a true big shot then you definitely have to go to DUVET!

I never been so embrassed in my life! I've been to Duvet numerous of time and I use to like it up to saturday. My friend just turned 21 and she never been to a club before. My friend is a plus size girl and well me I'm pretty small, but never had I been so disrespected and embrassed in my life. Me and my friend went to Duvet in which we arrived there at 11:15pm we didn't get to the front of the line until 12:10 in which they purposely keep u waiting there so u can pay the admission fee despite being there early. Which this was totally crazy considering it was about 20 people in front of us. But anyways when we got to the very front they were about to let me in, but then the security guard asked me was she with me (my friend) who was standing behind me at the time. I said yes. He then told me to get off the line and at first I was confused like why did we have to get off the line, but I did... and then I asked him why did we have to get off he then state do you want the real truth I said yeah! He said while he looked at my friend he stated we have the right to choose who we let in. I was upset i immediately tried to call the club number that I had for them to speak with the owner! I never heard of anything like this in my life, but of course no one picked up. So I called my other friend and told her what happen she then told me when she went to Duvet a while ago a staff memeber actually said they don't let fat girls in. I was enraged I hung up w/ her call 311 to find out how could i go about making a complain about the situation she later gave me the Human Resources number and I will definitely be calling them on Monday for Discrimination! Never did i once while viewing their online site see NO BIG GIRLS ALLOWED! Now my friend don't even want to ever go clubbing because of their unprofessionalism isn't her money green just like everyone else?

DUVET-FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! We were visiting NY and wanted to spend the best new years eve ever, it was the WORST! We bought the tickets for ultra vip bed online $800 (4 tickets) which were not very cheap, but it was new years and it seem a nice club plus the services listed on the package sounded good: 1 bottle of vodka, 1 bottle of champagne, food, vip pass, open bar. We arrived around 9 pm, we didn?t get inside the club until 10:30! It was the coldest day in ny in the last 5 years, we were -2 Fahrenheit, sooooo cold! And this was the "vip pass." Once we got inside we were expecting food, there was none. The waitress charged us $100 dlls to bring the ?bottles? and for service, she only brought one bottle of vodka and disappeared for the rest of the night. Then, we never received the bottle of champagne for the toast, that was included in the package! we were starving, never received drinks from the ?open bar? the waitress never came back. We tried to talk to the manager Sabrina, so rude! she said ?we were only getting one bottle, to look for the waitress for the food and to do whatever we wanted, she was busy.? We basically left, we were starving, service was terrible. It was the most horrible new years eve and we paid for it $900 dlls! We ended up eating hot dogs at the street, with no new years eve toast. I was so embarrassed with my guests, I suggested this club and it was a huge disappointment.

I've been clubbing in NYC for 6 years now, and have been to about 30+ clubs/lounges from downtown to midtown...and these are BY FAR the worst/rudest bouncers I've ever come across. Yeah it's pricey to get in and the drinks are also expensive, but the bouncers really took it over the top. I went for my cousin's bday party, and I would have LEFT if it weren't for her.

On a good note, the bartenders were super nice and helpful.

We were at Duvet this past weekend and absolutely LOVED it!! It is so beautiful. The music was great and the vibe is so hot. I've be to ever club from NY to LA and this is one of my favorites by far!!!!!! The girls are cute and the beds are great! This place is so different compared to all the other clubs. I am in love with the bar....... so pretty! Definitely worth checking out!!!!

BEWARE! after waiting in line, we were rudely searched in all pockets, when I asked why were being searched I was insulted by the woman, and the price was too much to get into the club first of all and second to have your bag checked and iPod stolen by the man behind the counter. There are plenty of other clubs in NYC - skip this one.

It seemed like everyone at the place just thought they were better than you. The bouncers got some issues and the bartenders make some water down drinks it seemed. Place is trendy if you wanna go out meet people but make sure you pre game well before you go.

Duvet is one of those places where the peoople running the club think they can treat anyone like sh*t because they are on some kind of power trip. There are plenty of bars/clubs in NYC that can run circles around this place. Trust me, it's not worth it!!!

Paid for VIP Seated Bed on New Years which promised no lineup, food, reserved bed, champagne at midnight and open bar. Here's what we got:

1) Arrived at 10:30 - VIP line was longer than general admission and not moving. Bouncer 'generously' offered to let in 4 people for $200. Didn't make it inside until 11:15 (after being thoroughly frisked and checked with a metal detector)
2) Beds were oversold - we were promised we'd get one "IF" one opened up, but never did. Manager suggested we try to squeeze in on a stained 4-seater couch that already had 6 people on it
3) Only managed to get 2 drinks the whole night which were 0% alcohol - they wouldn't serve shots at all
4) No food to be seen anywhere
5) Champagne was not passed out at midnight - had to beg the bartender for it
6) 'Technical difficulties' caused music to stop for at least 20 minutes

The place was actually pretty packed but crowd was not impressive. I usually manage to make a good time out of a bad bar, but this place was beyond repair. Will never go back.

The venue itself is very pretty and unique, however I ended up spending a huge amount of money at the bar because their patron was heavily mixed with house tequila. I do not drink any other drinks, but I was forced to because of their fake patron. My cranberry vodka drink was sooo weak that it tasted like pure juice. They claimed that their patron tasted odd because of the cups--I am a bartender myself, not an idiot!

I had a bunch of people come out for my birthday this past weekend and I could not have thought of a better place to go to than Duvet. We really had a blast! We got a bed and ordered bottles. We partied like rock stars. It was great! We could not stop dancing...... the music was awesome. I loved partying on the beds... so much fun! The bar is absolutely gorgeous..... I have never seen anything like it. I can't wait to come back!!!

I came to duvet this past weekend with a bunch of people and had the sicked time! We last minute decided to get bottle service and they were very accommodating. We got this ridiculously awesome bed for the night. We were drinking, dancing, and partying on the bed all night. The music was great. They play a lot of mixed music. I hate when clubs just play one type of music. I really had a blast and can't wait to come back!!!

Let me be clear that I wouldn't even give this place one star but am forced to just to post this review!

Went there last night with a bachelorette party. I made an advance reservation with Jeff from 1 Luv Entertainment. Don't bother working with him either. When I made the reservation I told him I would need bottle service. 1 bottle! He told me to call him when I got there and he would come out and get me. Well of course I get there and call him and he tells me to see RJ. This dude RJ was so pretentious. If you saw him he is nothing to write home about so why he thinks working a door at a club is so special is beyond me.

We were made to wait anyway and then some chick comes out and tells me that we have to get 2 bottles. This place just totally tries to take your money. As you can see from the prior reviews they are shady. Suffice to say we took our business elsewhere!

News Flash 1 Luv & Duvet.......clubs are a dime a dozen in NY. There is nothing special about yours!

We wanted a place to go clubbing after dinner, so we gave duvert a try, paid the $60 cover and bought two overpriced wines at $12 a glass. I did not realize this was a male strip club inside (not my thing). I was told to leave the lounge after five minutes by an employee, so I asked the manager for my cover charge to be refunded and he rudely pointed to a sign over the front desk that read "No Refunds". Beware of this place. The atmosphere was cold and dirty.

I've been to this club several times and everytime I have a great time. I love Duvet! It is so big and beautiful. I love that it is white. It makes you feel like you are not in NY, and not any typical NY club. The beds are a nice touch. This place definitely stands out from the other clubs. The bathrooms are cool too. I love the jelly fish tank. It is so soothing to watch them. I can watch them all day long.

When we were at Duvet this past weekend, we had such as great time. It is so unbelievably beautiful and so huge. I really love the jelly fish tank and the "ice bar". That 's so hot!! Everything is such on a grand scale here; the beds, the bar, the place itself. It looks very fresh. I loved the music. We were dancing all night. I love to dance and the music was really great, it was a great vibe. I definitely give Duvet an A++!!!!!!!!

My wife and I wanted a place to go clubbing after dinner, so the hotel concierge recommended this new "trendy" club. We gave it a try, paid the $60 cover and bought two overpriced wines at $12 a glass. I walked through the dingy black curtains past the bar only to discover male stripping inside (not my thing). I was promptly told to leave the lounge area by an employee, so I asked the manager for my cover charge to be returned and he rudely pointed to a cheesy paper sign over the front desk that read "No Refunds".

After safely riding the subways for four days, I realized I had just been mugged by a night club. Beware of this place. My impression is it is way over hyped. All the photos of the interior are not a true representation and are most likely photo-shopped. I thought the atmosphere was cold and dingy. The cheap black curtains (bed sheets?) separating the bar from the lounge should have clued me in. But when I saw strippers licking women's legs, I was pretty sure we were in a dive of a club.

Went for a Bachelorette party. The show was good, most of the men were attractive, however, IT WAS NOT WORTH THE PRICE AND HASSLE. Paid $12 for drinks and the service was not great. I gave my debit/credit card and license to hold our tab. The bill came to $300 and another girl put it on her credit card and the guy gave me my ID and card back. No on said anything about swiping it or had me sign anything. Found out from the bank that my card had been swiped 5 times for a total of $330! Talked to the girl who paid and her card was charged $50 more than she signed the receipt! She called and got it straightened out. I called and was told they would call me back. Called the next day and she said the $130 charge was probably to hold the bill and they were looking into the other $200 worth of charges. She said it should be cleared up by Thursday. We went there on a Saturday. The money was pulled out of my account because it was a debit. The receptionist was nice about it but said she couldnt do anything about it to wait until Thursday. I do not appreciate someone swiping my card for over $300 without telling me! The bouncers are also rude! The show was not worth the money and hassle it cost me! SHADINESS!

The show was awesome! I've been to every other show in the city and I've finally found one worth coming back to. Every guy in the show was incredible looking. Every act was done very professionally, and with taste. I was a little worried that I was going to be fondled when the dancers came around for tips but they we're very respectful in that regard. The waiters are hotties too. Five stars from me and my friends. We're definitely regulars of The Hot Hunkmania Show at Club Duvet from now on!

Went there for a great night out with some friends and thats exactly what we got! Had a great time...couldnt stop dancing for four hours because the music was just nonstop great mix....the girls were amazing and ambience really made it an overall great club scene...you will most likely find me there next weekend partying it up!

hunk mania was very fun there, but i could see why they would need an event like that because they not only overcharge on drinks ($14 for a martini), but they added gratuity already on top of it...which the guy claimed was tax. i'm not an idiot boy, no tax is 20%. but fortunately i did not use my credit card, which many of the users here said to avoid. thank you for that advice. They already include gratuity!!!...be aware of that. i was fortunate not to pay extra because I believe because of God's grace i must have known tip was included even though the waiter was shady about how much the drink really cost. the place is so so afterwards for dancing. only good for hunk mania. then leave elsewhere for better dancing and where you can drink more. the beds are overrated.

We were here this past weekend and have a GREAT time! The DJ was playing some really great music. We bought bottles and were on the bed and were partying like rock stars. I really love this place, it is so beautiful! I have never seen anything like this in NY before and I love to go out. I was here a couple times before and I always have an awesome time! II was celebrating my 36 Birthday. I was hanging out with 30 something year old that does not have time for the nonsense. As for me and my friends lets just say they lost lots of future business to come.

Victory multimedia called me regarding having a birthday party and I picked this spot because of the reviews. I thought this place looked upscale. the place was nice and my party of 40+ people looked fabulous in all white with just a few more in other colors. I got there and they had charged everyone on my quest list 25 dollars to get in saying that the quest list was not just like the ticket but only gave them a $5.00 discount. Most were in the club well before 11 pm. I was given 25 tickets and told verbally as well as on a printed ticket that both men and woman are free before 11:30 pm.

The bouncers were rude and clueless when you ask them a question. My "free champange" actually cost me $50 bucks. It was a cheap bottle but of course I was trying to have a good time. Our bottle of grey goose which took another 1/2 hour from the bar. Then I personally went to the bar to buy the other bottle which took another 40 minutes for the bar. Now my friend was told two bottles got us a bed which we never got. I was told three bottles. The DJ played the same thing over and over again. Not one birthday shout out as promised.

Interesting how it sounds so nice and once you get there its another story. My friends and I was made to feel unimportant and of no consequence to this establishment. Unfortunately I did not and was very disappointed with the clubs service. I was more annoyed with how they treated my friends and made them pay and didn't even look at my birthday guest list. The drinks are watered down and the prices change on bottles of alcohol. Go at your own risk.

This was my first time at this club. I am sorry but I will make sure everyone I know in life never sets foot in this spot again.

Great looking guys we loved the show. If your having a bachelorette party, I highly recommend this show it was awesome! I've been to every other show in the city and I've finally found one worth coming back too. Every guy in the show was incredible looking. Every act was done very professionally, and with taste. I was a little worried that I was going to be fondled when the dancers came around for tips but they we're very respectful in that regard. The massage guys are hotties too. Five stars from me and my friends. We're definitely regulars of Hunkmania's from now on!

I've never felt the need to write a review, ever.
I've been reading the reviews and I had the exact same experience with my credit card getting over charged. I signed a bill for 71.60, of course they got me there too since I didn't even see that there was already 20% gratuity added. So they got a 40% tip from me. According to my credit card statements, at that same moment or even before I'd signed for the drinks, they charged my credit card $100.00, that I didn't sign for and my statements are stating that the drink bill was $73.92. What are they doing with credit cards there? It's fishy and I'm going to figure this mess out : 311
Duvet could be a lot of fun if they didn't mess with people.

My friends took me here for my birthday and we had the best time of our lives. When we arrived it was crazy packed. Everyone wanted to get in. When we got in we were amazed how gorgeous this place was. The music was great and the people were hot. The beds and lighting were hot too. These lights kept on changing colors. Worst experience of my clubbing life.
1) the bouncers were rude. They asked me to get off the VIP line if I'm waiting for my friend who has a table. They wouldn't let me wait for him on the line that has no one and I was not in the way of their business.

2) The music was bad. DJ didn't know what he was doing. He mixed reggae to some oldies music then to hip hop back to reggae. Making the people on dance floor confused.

3) GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR THE BARTENDERS. They overcharge people. Check your receipt. TIP is already included, yet they provide the TIP on the receipt blank. Check with your credit card or bank. They don't put the amount that was charged. I'm filing a complaint for that. They overcharged me by 30 bucks in combine of 3 receipts to my credit card.

4) Paying to get in Guys usually $40 and girls $20 is the stupid for the experience I had. The only good thing is the decor. It was something different.

This place was kind of cool, but be aware when keeping a tap when you go see Hunkmania. Took my girlfriend there on 3/22/08 for her birthday and they over charge my debit card for some other charges of $50.00 and then $111.00 from the original price spent and I am still disputing the charges. Just for that I will never be back again to this place. I felt that was just wrong and the drinks were small and not all that to be over charge. NEVER, NEVER keep a tap on this place.

This place was really nice! A friend of mine recommended it and I finally went last saturday. We got to the line a a little after 12, so we had to wait a while, nothing too terrible, just wish the weather had been a bit warmer. $20 cover kinda sucked. The DJ was pretty cool, good music, bad transitions. Loved the bathroom with the one way mirror doors! Really cool atmosphere and I think it's a good thing that they're selective at the door, helps to maintain a certain crowd and keep the bums away! My only gripe was my severely watered down drinks! Be a little more generous with the alcohol and cut down on the juice for my $12 and up cocktail, and the place is great!

I went early on after a male review show ended; the women were great. Don't go though if you're sleazy. We came here yesterday for Valentine's Day. This has to be the most beautiful and elegant place in NY. As we walked in, there were people greeting us. The were so curteous and friendly. As we were walking in our jaws dropped. They had beautiful colored lights of red and pink. The beds, tables, bar, and stairs were all decorated with rose petals and candels. It was so romantic. As the hostess sat us the servers came to us right away. We had such wonderful service. We had so many people waiting on us. They also were so extremely friendly. Then came the food. I never tasted such delicious food in my life. It was four courses and each course was better than the other. For the amuse we had this amazing passionfruit ceviche. It was so yummy. Then they gave us sorbet to cleans the pallet. Then for the appetizer we had seared hamachi, which was so fresh. After we had beef tenderloin and the beef was cooked perfectly. For dessert we had lovebed for 2 and chocolate covered strawberries. It was to-die-for. I have not seen such a smooth operation before especially on Valentine's Day. I am a chef and i know how crazy this night could be, but i really give it up to the chef and the place. Duvet really is a four or five star restaurant. I will without a doubt come back for dinner many more times.

Wow, I have never been to such a horrible place. My friends and I decided to go there for NYE-they were selling tickets and said it was going to not be a crowded event. First of all the let the line wrap around the block and for no good reason since all tickets were pre-purchased. Then, when we did get in, there was only one bar for the droves of people that were let into this place. It took over an hour to get a horribly watered down drink. Then they said there was food...where??? Oh, and there were no duvets at Duvet. Just fithly beds that people were jumping on like they were six years old instead of adults. I have been to many places in NYC, this is by far the worst. I will never go back!

Even after reading all the negative reviews, my friends and I went to Duvet for New Years Eve. For the 8 of us, we paid $2400 that included a reserved bed, open bar, "lots of food," and a bottle of champagne and a bottle of vodka. Sounds like a good deal, right? We asked our waitress to bring the bottles of champagne and vodka but she told us that we had to pay gratuity up front (a minimum of $50 per bottle.) We thought it was strange, but we tipped her way over the minimum which was a mistake. After she served us the two bottles (twenty minutes after we asked), we never saw her again. Sadly we had to fight the bar crowd to get more drinks--they even ran out of champagne. On top of that, we got one tiny tray of food that consisted of individual tostitos with salsa. Not exactly what I thought we had paid for.

Nonetheless, we had fun and made the best of it. Towards the end of the night, a few people not from our party were sitting on our reserved bed. A few of them asked to rest their feet for a minute, and we didn't care. Two others sat on our bed for awhile and we kindly asked them to leave because it was our bed and we didn't have much room to spare (we were dancing on the bed.) They got hostile with us and we called security over who did nothing. In fact, security was incredibly rude and disorganized--they literally yelled in my face because I said I wanted to talk to a manager. Basically, our very expensive night ended when one of the uninvited girls scratched and bloodied my friend's face (I am not kidding.)

Moral of the story, don't go there unless you want to pay a lot of money for poor service, trashy patrons, and crappy security. I wish I had heeded the warnings of these reviews. I will not be going back to Duvet. There are plenty of better places in New York where you can get your money's worth.

What a poor choice to visit this spot for New Years Eve. Duvet promised much but delivered very little. To begin, doors were supposed to open at 8pm. My date and I arrived at 745pm hoping to be one of the first to enter but found ourselves waiting until 840pm before they club even opened the doors. For 55 minutes, we watched the club staff arrive at leisure, have Chinese food delivered, set up the lines, figure out their scanning devices and issue conflicting instructions. The staff had little compassion for the 100+ people waiting outside in the cold. Inside, the staff was utterly ill prepared to service the amount of people inside at the bar. There were only 4 bartenders- (1 for each corner of the bar). So the highly touted open bar simply meant that you would get 1 or 2 free drinks. The DJ must have just popped in a cd and pressed continuous play because we heard the same songs again and again. Finally, the club advertised an assortment of foods being offered to the guests. A few staff members came by with some cheap snacks but even that was short lived-lasting no more than an hour or two. In short, it was a waste of time and money and I will forever remember 2007 New Years Eve as a total bust. Thanks to Duvet. Stay away from this place. Stay far, far away.

New Years was aweful.
1. $140.00 ticket let you wait outside for 30mins in stilletos
2. Too crowded at the bar.
3. No where to sit unless you reserved a bed. If you did want to sit you had to ask permission
4. DJ SUCKED!!! cuts lasted 30secs and he played songs over again every 45mins.
5. When you finally got to sit down on a bed usually it was alcohol soaked. The smell of a wet bed is disgusting.

I mean....it's a club. You get a better DJ and on a less crowded night im pretty sure you can have fun.

Do yourself a favor and dont use credit or debit card here. Apparently its too dark for ditsy bartenders to see what they are doing. OR they are forging my name and charging things to my account. I ordered 2 whiskey sours, theres a 2 drink minimum for cards (Which came to 24.00 total) When I got home and looked at my bank statement online. They withdrew 2 payments of 100.00!!!! Yo! $200!? Then I decided to look at what they charged me last Friday, and it was 56.00!! I ordered 2 drinks that came out to 26.00. I am never going there again. IF thats how they make their money, they can go to hell. There wasnt even charges for the real amounts anywhere from them. They better find my receipts and reimburse me.

We came here the other night on a Saturday and it was sick!!!!!!!! We had so much fun. The dj is great, the place is HOT!!!, and we absolutely loved it. The place is so big and white and clean. It was packed. The "ice bar" is incredible. I have never seen anything like it. The jelly fish tank is so beautiful. It is very soothing and relaxing. Everything is light up in different colors. One area is green, another purple, another red, it's so nice. What i really loved were the bathrooms. They are so cool. They are unisex and there are one-way mirrors that you can see out of, but nobody can see you when your inside. The wine cellar is in the bathroom, sort of. I love this place!!!!!!!!! Most likely many people had high expectations for this nightclub. I had I great time but not because of the scene or hospitality. Its a club! I danced all night, no one was "stuck up". We did have a bed and did not see a waitress all night, we were getting our own drinks from the bar. The bartender was hot and welcoming (the short one wearing all black, with black hair). Women out numbered the men by 3 or 4 so thats a plus. My only complaint is that they water the drinks down and they are very expensive. Cranberry and vodka = $10, but it taste like cranberry and cranberry. Overall the club scene was hot but i could carless if the manager is nice or not, I dont go to clubs to see whether or not the staff is nice, I go to dance, drink and pick up women. I accomplished all three..

Went last night, Friday, for a buddy's birthday party. As all stated, beautiful layout inside with the fishtanks and the beds and the funky bathroom downstairs, but there was no 'energy' in the place. The DJ played a great mix of music... but each song cut lasted 20 seconds!!!! A great song came on, everyone started to dance, the girls got into it, then it changed on us every time! The prices were average, 7 for a beer 12 for a drink... and the funniest thing, the beverage promotion (free t-shirts, etc) going on that night was for Perrier... bottled water in a bar...? Didn't understand that. I would go back only if I had to, not because I'd want to. I think the owners should close shop, regroup, and reopen with a new theme... bring back some new 'energy'.

Right off the bat me and my friends were greeted by three really pretty girls. They told us we might not get a bed cuz it was crowded, but they were really nice about it and ended up getting us a bed anyways. The food was really good. I ordered the wild mushroom risotto... in one word... amazing. The service was ok, nothing special. They got us our food on time but did not check on us often. The decorations are awesome. Everything looks really trendy, and the bartenders are HOT... Really really hot. Bathrooms are cool, but kinda smell. The two-way mirror on the bathroom stalls is cool but its awkward when you see someone looking at themselves (looks like they are look straight at you) when you are doing your thing. Overall, I would go back to try some more stuff from their menu. We all shared our food, and everything was really good. Props to the chef!

Needless to say we had a wonderful time, the service was great, the decor was amazing and the food was out of this world! We are so happy we decided to go here on our special night because it was just perfect.

so my girls and i decided to do dinner and then stay for the club and i worked our PERFECT! it was sooo easy! so we had an awesome dinner, the sushi was soo good and fresh and im a huge sushi fan so i was in heaven! after we all ate we got dessert too and they were amazing as well! so we had a few more drinks and eventually it turned into a club and we were sooo happy we stayed because it was packed by 11:30! the night was awesome- dinner and club!

Duvet had great decor/atmosphere, however prices were high for a four ounce drink they served. There was a $30 cover that night for those who were anything but caucasian. We have been to many places in NYC that charge EVERYONE in line a cover...but tonight we saw people just walk in after showing their IDs and not asked to pay. If it wasn't so blatant, it wouldn't have mattered.

The great atmosphere and decor do no make up for the lack of respect to shown to people of other nationalities who come to a place like Duvet for a good time.

Duvet is the most beautiful Restaurant/Club in NY. We came to eat dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The service was superb. We were so happy. After we stayed for the nightclub. We had such a blast. It was packed and we had so much fun. The music was great. There was a very fun and cool vibe. The jelly fish tank was HOT! The lights were crazy. One area was one color and a different are was another color. It was so gorgeous. You can not find a resaurant that is a hot club or a club that is a good restaurant with good food and Duvet definitely is that! I love this place!!!!!!!!!

Duvet is an amazing restaurant/lounge!
we went out for dinner and the layout, food and service was awesome. Very beautiful place and friendly staff.
The manager was extremely nice and made sure everything was okey.

We had an absolutely terrible experience at this place. They don't care at all about the customers, the bouncers are rude, the bartenders even more rude, and you will get overcharged on everything! The place iteslf is not that great either.

Regular price to get in is $30. If you are on a GUESTLIST that promises Comp admission before a certain time, expect to pay at least $20, as they DO NOT HONOR ANY GUESTLISTS. They basically trick people into thinking that they are going in for free (before 11:30), and then after you wait in line for 20 minutes and get to the door, they tell you that it will be $20 regardless of guestlist status. What's worse is they even made the GIRLS pay $20 each!!! Thats unbelievable! 99% of places will Comp girls for free admission before 12:00. We were on 2 different guestlists promissing free admission for girls, and they refused to honor them both!

Bartenders are the rudest that I've seen. Horrible bar experience. It took the bartender 10 minutes to pour 7 shots for us, then when we asked (very politely) about our drinks, the female bartender came over and YELLED at us and patronized us asking, "Are you guys in a hurry? Do you have a meeting to go to?" Later in the night, after ordering 10 drinks, I asked the bartender to also please give me just a glass of ice water for one of the girls. They told me that they are not allowed to pour a glass of tap water, and that I have to buy an 8 ounce bottle that costs 6 dollars. On top of that, after I closed out my tab ($40 minimum), they charged me another 20% additional gratuity for their horrible service. This place tries very hard to nickel-and-dime you at every chance they get.
The dancefloor wasn't bad, but not great either. At no point in the night did it get crowded enough to set a good mood, and the DJ played a weird mix of tribal/techno/pop that nobody was dancing to.

Overall, we were greatly dissapointed with this place, and we all wished that we went somewhere else.

Went here past friday with some frds for a party. While the decor and vibe of the place aint bad the bartenders here are horrible. Ordered patron shots but they had none?! ordered grey goose instead and got absolut vanilla or something along those lines bc it was sweet as heck. when we confronted the bar girl shes all no its grey goose. aside frm the fact that she didnt pour it in front of us i mean u can obviously smell the sweetness frm the glass. we argued and then got the manager who of course backed up the bar girl and siad it was grey goose. funny how when we asked for other peoples opinion everyone else smelled vanilla frm the glasses. then to top it off they automatically added 20% tip to the bill which we didnt realize so basically they got 20% PLUS the tip we gave them for drks that were wrong. and this was for 2 peoples drks?!!!? wht a waste of money. Another group of frds got a bottle of grey goose was given belvedere orange flavored saying they ran out of goose??? Cmon! With some many clubs and bars out there in NY, dont waste ur time or $ on this one.

Wow! after coming to Duvet last weekend we had such a wonderful. I love this place. It is huge, gorgeous, beautiful, and i can keep on going. The vibe was great and the music was great. Went to Duvet last night for a romantic dinner. Things started out nicely...appetizers were tasty and the atmosphere unique. However, as soon as we finished our appetizers, our entrees were brought out. We thought this was strange; like we were being rushed out. I had the bluefin tuna which was delicious. My fiance had the duck which was good, but included pancetta in it (not stated in the menu). I think that bacon is an ingredient that should be noted on the menu since some people do not eat pork. Anyway, we decide to have another drink before dessert. The drinks come, but so does the check. We ignore the check and continue talking and enjoying our drinks when the manager comes over 5 mins later and rudely informs us that we have exceeded their hour and 45 minute time limit and we have to leave. Mind you we have unfinished drinks sitting there and hadn't even ordered our dessert. And people who were there before us were still on the beds. The waitress should have informed us that our time was up when we ordered the drinks, but I guess they wanted that extra money out of us. Needless to say, after the manager's rudeness, we lost our appetite. The place was not that busy so I didn't understand what the issue was except maybe that we were a couple and he wanted to get a bigger group on the bed if they walked in. But we're spending $$$ too and if they are going to treat couples differently then they should have a minimum person requirement for the beds. Also they should have their 1 hour and 45 min policy reiterated when making a reservation. [According to a Duvet employee (who shall remain nameless since I don't want them to be reprimanded), this policy is rarely enforced]. So in short, Duvet has a lot to learn about customer service and should consistently enforce policies whether its 2 people on a bed or 4. To make us feel like we were being kicked out after spending quite a bit of money, left a bad taste in our mouths and we will not be returning.

I took my boyfriend to Duvet for Valentine's Day. The food was absolutely exquisite and the service was truly perfect. We loved every minute of it. I am a food critic and I could not even say one bad thing. The food was brought out in a timely manner and looked beautiful. We had four courses for dinner and each course was better than the other. The servers really paid great attention to us. The chef really knew what he was doing. I could not have picked a more perfect restaurant for Valentine's Day. We will 100% be returning; we still have the taste of all that yummy and delicious food.

I just moved to NYC from NJ, and I can confidently say that Duvet is more Jersey than any club in Jersey. After paying the ridiculous cover because a friend in my group insisted on going here on a Sat night, we walked into an area where these short guys wearing sunglasses and wife-beaters were standing on the beds and staring at us. Not a great first impression. Also it was really packed and the music was terrible - a mix of 80s and techno/dance. I would not go here again.

Went here for dinner the other night at around 8pm (Thursday). Place was fairly quiet but there seemed to be a decent bar crowd gathering which dissolved around an hour later. The food was above average, I had the scallop appetizer, duck main and creme brulee dessert. All were very delicious, except, my only qualm was there was too much salt on the vegies. My friend found that as well. It was also slightly uncomfortable trying to consume our food with bent back on the large bed. Very novel but not the easiet thing to do. I wouldve rathered receive a small raised table to set my food on in front of me. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the evening, meal, service, and, people watching. I'm not sure what the place is like when it's packed. Duvet's worth a ganza.

I have read much of the reviews and everyone has their point of view. The 20% gratuity might be an issue for some people. but I would say s uck it up, the food is good and the atmosphere is great. I've been there more than once, and i always make a dinner reservation between 9 and 9:30 so by the time I'm done eating, i can start partying. It works out perfectly as you get a decent meal for what would have otherwise been a crazy cover charge and you don't have to impress the people at the door to get in an hour later! Go there, try out the food, and enjoy the night.

I took a couple friends of mine who were visiting from Philadelphia because one of them wanted to go to "a hot club". There was a gigantic line outside and the doormen were complete tools and one told us we had to buy a couple bottles because we were three guys. We slipped him $100 to get in and then immediately wished we hadn't. Even though there was a huge line outside the place was half empty! There was a small, unattractive crowd on the dance floor but I swear you could hear crickets chirping in the bar. At one point I ordered a Jack and Coke from the male bartender and I got a plastic cup with rum and coke in it instead. I told the female bartender that I got the wrong drink and she started an attitude with me: "*I* didn't pour you that drink!" I know lady, but you work here so just give me what I ordered and shut up. The only redeeming quality about this place is its unique bathroom. If you want a cool place to hang out do yourself a favor and go across the street to Slate where they'll let you in, the crowd is much better and the staff is WAY more polite!

Then we stayed for the nightclub. We had so much fun. We were dancing and drinking all night long. I would never want to go anywhere else; you wouldn't either after you have as much fun as we did. Whoever is saying bad things about Duvet really doesn't know what they are talking about. This restaurant/lounge is definitely one of the top restaurant/clubs in the city. Worst service ever! I would have to agree with some of the previous reviews. The waitress was rude and the manager was even worse. We were also wrongly charged 20% gratuity on a service that was less than sub par. When we pointed this out to the manager, he was rude and argumentative. Also my friend who does not eat pork, was served bacon in a dish that was supposed to have been duck. Instead of simply apologizing for this, the manager put us down--saying that bacon bits are to be expected in any sauce served in an "upscale" restuarant. He was pretty much implying that we haven't been in an upscale resturant before. First of all, this place was hardly "upscale." The decor was so-so and the food was so-so. Besides, we were four physician New Yorkers who have been in places much better than this. Skip this place--definitely not worth it. Although we had money--even if the manager didn't think we did--we left them a dime for their services.

You'll be disappointed. You go for the ambiance but the terrible music, slow service, and deplorable customer service ruin your night. We were wrongfully charged 20% gratuity even though our party was 5 and NOT 6 people. When we politely pointed this out to the manager he waived us off and then threatened to call security if we didn't pay the bill in 5 minutes. So there we were, 5 professional women who'd just spent $300 being threatened by an ogre of a manager. (I wish I would have read these reviews before going because apparently this ogre threatens to call security pretty often.) The food was okay--be careful because the portions are small. Don't get the ravioli--super greasy and not in a good way! Basically, only worth going if you're into long waits, mediocre food, and being mistreated. Bed is much better than this wannabe restaurant. Seriously, there are so many great places in this city--go there instead!

I went to Duvet to grab dinner and drinks midweek. The sushi was really good as well as the cocktails. We had a very nice waiter! .. I'm sure this place looks fine in the darkness of a night club but in the light it needs serious upgrades. The main entrance has a feel of a warehouse. It needs a paint job and the booths could use some fixin. The beds seemed a little skeevy to me and they could make the club part a little more posh. However, the small crowd at the bar were all decent people. I might try it again but the dilapidated appearance of the place in the light just ruined the ambiance for me

This has to be by far the best, hottest, most chic restaurant/club in NY. We came here with a couple of people and the food was phenomenal. The service was impecible. The wait staff was so courteous and friendly. After dinner we stayed for the nightclub. We bought a couple bottles and really had the best time. They had these awesome lights that kept on changing lots of colors. The bathrooms were absolutely wonderful, the jellyfish tank is beyond words. I have never seen a fish tank like this. Everyone here really seemed like they loved it because every person was dancing and partying. It is nice to see that such beautiful and equisite places still do exist in NY.

3 friends of mine were in town for the weekend. Reservations for 9:15 on Saturday night (12/2). First, we were informed we had to order either 1 entree or 2 appetizers per person. Sure, we were in for the experience. It took several iterations for our waiter to get it correct. We were satiated when food & libations finally arrived (1.5 hrs later).

After our food was gone, more time had passed, we were ready to go. Check finally arrived with several mistakes. 30 minutes later, it came back corrected, but with 20% tip added. I asked 2 waiters & they both replied 'for 4 or more people'. When our waiter came back, I inquired and he reiterated the same message. I asked to see it in writing, to which he quickly said the computer must have added it.

I made reservations for Friday night for 10PM. We got there in 10:05PM. We had been told by the security to wait in a line despite the fact that we made the reservations for the dinner. After 25min of waiting we had been told that the kitchen is closed so we should forget about the dinner. They even didn't try to appologize.
So spend your money in some other place!!!

Had heard great things about Duvet so I was excited to check it out after my friends & I left another bar down the street. It was 2:30am when we got there & the bouncers were all very friendly & nice. They tried to get our group comps (there were about 10-12 of us) but unfortunately only gave us two tickets. A little strange. When we went inside to pay, we were astonished that at 2:30am, they were charging $20 just to walk in the door. Some of us were willing to pay but a lot of people were turned off by this. To have a group that large (& at that hour) be forced to pay that much seemed a little absurd. Some of the people in our group were willing to throw down some $$ inside the bar & it seemed only fair to give us an incentive. Once back out in the lobby we witnessed how rude the bouncers could be to other people when some tried to leave through the wrong door. The bounce slammed the door in the people's face & pushed them out of the way, yelling at them. By that point we were pretty ready to leave. If I were to go again, maybe I'd go earlier but it left a bad taste in many of my friends' mouths.

Straight out of sexinthecity, but with smelly feet...which are everywhere if you spend the high prices here for a bed to lay on. Shoes must come off. Funky space turns into a euro disco with neon lights everywhere, bring your shades. The food I must say was surprisingly good and a nice variety, but the service was horrible. Very, very slow even for simple things such as water refills. Also what's with the secret service detail combing the joint, guys walking around with visible ear pieces, gimme a break this isn't Alias. Desserts were delish...but you must be prepared for the bathrooms here. A co-ed bathroom slash wine storage room in the basement has one-way transparent doors... you can see out but they can't see in, although it feels like they can. A little strange, feels like you're being watched. Overall I'd say change your Duvet to a comforter and call it a night.

I came here with my boys and we had the best time. The party was off-the-hook. Everyone was drinking, dancing, and buying bottles..... it was great. The girls were so hot. We did not want to leave. They have this awesome bathroom were both guys and girls can use it and people were even partying there. The dj booth is like something I have never seen before. We went there on the Saturday night before Halloween for what was meant to be a big party. The music was terrible and the DJ seemed very amateurish. The vibe though was great though and the beds definitely create an ambiance but the evening for me was ruined when we wanted to close out our tab after only spending $20 at the bar. We were told by the barman that there's a $40 minimum so we'd have to either get more drinks or GIVE HIM a $20 tip so he could put $40 on the card. We had been drinking there the whole night (paying cash) and when we finally wanted to leave they wouldn't give me my card! I had to battle with the shift manager and her boss to finally get the card - a process that took about 25 minutes and they treated us as if we had just stolen thousands of dollars from them. So much for customer service!

I have been to Duvet about 7 times this past summer, each time on Fridays. This friday I was celebrating my Bday and have choosen Duvet as the place to spend it in. I did not buy any overpriced vodkas I was just there to dance and have a good time. To get to the point Ill just say that if you are there just to have a few decent drinks and to dance, you WILL be pushed around by their employees, because as soon as the first person that comes to buy a bottle and wants to stay where you are sitting, they will come and just shout "move" no please or thank you or anything else. Bottom line is that overlooking the nasty welcoming attitude, now Fridays is Techo music. If you are not feeling this music, DONT go there. cant they see the dancefloor is empty?!? Had the worst time there music not good anymore and adding the nasty attitude makes this for me a Never go there Again type of experience!

This past saturday was my birthday party and i was REALLY excited to have it at Duvet after they made it seem that if we purchase bottles that all my 15 guests will be allowed in without and problems male or female (only 2 males). Not only was the cocktail waitress rude and just plain stupid but a few people had problems getting in after i was ASSURED that everyone will get in comped and will have no problems. Regardless to the fact that i spent almost $1,000 i asked her for redbull and she gave me cherry flavored energy drinks ( LET ME SAY IT SLOOOOW REEED BUUULLLL) dumb dumb dumb and its totally cool if your not very bright but ATLEAST be nice she was rude huffin and puffin i hate to go on about this but really now all she did was take my order and money drop off the bottle and i never saw her again the least you can do is get the order right. Nevertheless, they played good music and after a few drinks i had a good time but word to the wise this is not a place to waste hundreds of dollars, what Duvet should do is invest all that money they make on bottles on hiring a good waitstaff and educated people to run the door... Never again and they know EXACTLY where they can put their 3 bottle minimum ;)

I've been to Duvet twice, and to bed once...I'll ONLY go back to Duvet from now on. Both times, reservations were easy, the drink list was fun, and the food was exceptionally good. At about 10:30/11:00pm, the place becomes a club with creative multi-color lighting. It was a complete waste for me to go to Bed - I'm a Duvet girl only from now on.

This is definitely a place where people need to go. The atmosphere is so beautiful and gorgeous. This place is so big and white it is actually very refreshing. The beds are amazing. We reserved a bed for bottle service and loved every minute of it. The beds really are VIP and make you feel VIP. We were dancing on them and partying like there was no tomorrow. I have been to Duvet several times and every time I have a blast. This place gets better and better. I don't know how that is possible, but it really was a memorable night. I LOVE DUVET!!!!!!!!

My friends and i actually had a good time. We came late around 1:30. There were 8 of us, 4 girls 4 guys. The door guy tried to get my boyfriend and the other guys to buy a bottle but they declined. After checking us out he realized we were a pretty trendy bunch so he let us in. He comped the girls and the guys paid full. He was kind rude but then again no big deal. I thought it was lame at first but looking at the crowd standing on line at the time I can see why the club has to turn people away. Once we got inside it was just fun. we danced and drank the rest of the night. I would definately come back.

In fact, the place has gotten so much bad publicity recently for being rude, unprofessional, and racially discriminatory in its door policy that they have even been forced to write positive reviews for itself on Citysearch. It's pretty obvious too. Each of the positive comments are left by people who have only written one review on Citysearch (for DUVET). Hahaha... let's see if they push themselves to write positive posts for themselves and also a few random notes on other venues now.

I attended a birthday party here last friday through velvetlist. The party was a smash with my out of town friends. Theyve never been to a club like this. The beds were awesome. We all had great time and will come back this Friday. Everything was great, he drinks, music, people, etc. Everyone in our party thought the door staff did an excellent job keeping the garbage out. It seems to me that all these negative reviews about this club are from people who were either not hip enough to get past the door or they showed their true colors (no class) once they got in. Can't fault the staff for that. On a personal note, I applaud the fact the doorman even goes as far as kicking everyone off the line if he thought that those who were waiting didn't fit the partys profile (hip & trendy) hence the term "Selective Door". Do people still think they can just walk up to a club like duvet and expect to be let in? If so I don't think Duvet would have lasted this long. I've been to many clubs in NYC and only the reputable ones work this way. If you were rejected, stop whining, go up the block to deep or around the corner to Avalon, they take anyone and everyone. I visited this club last weekend and here are my observations about it.

3 bottle minimum at $300 to utilize beds that fit four people comfortably. 1 or 2 bottles gets a dark corner and cramped chairs.

Payment is up front, as soon as you recieve your bottles.

Gratuity is factored into your payment regardless of how well your waitress performs.

Table service means little to nothing in terms of service from the club. Once payment is recieved the waitress may or may not come back to your table again.

As a few clubs have done, they maintain the celebrity friendly angle and anything less is unimportant to the club. Your money does't make you important, your payment is processed and the transaction is complete. Bottle service is treated the same as people at the bar after your money has been recieved.

Bouncers are invisible, which is good, but I found nothing else enjoyable.

This is not the kind of place you want to bring a party, as it embodies most of what is wrong with the club scene in New York. Also, there is very little about Duvet that creates a party vibe, it's more of a see and be seen spot where you should go once just to say you were in a club with beds.

Any 'love it' reviews are posted by those who have an interest in Duvet.

Duvet is absolutely amazing. I have been here many times and I can't keep myself from coming back again and again. I love the idea with the beds, it's so much fun. It's defintely worth getting a bed for bottle service here.......I went here for a friends b-day and although its a tough door to get into, once your in you know why. The crowd is beautiful and the music doesn't compare to any other place in the city. I saw Usher here this past weekend hanging out in the VIP section with some super gorgeous models. I hear there is always celebrity sightings there.

WOW!!! I have never seen a more beautiful place and I have traveled all over the world. My girlfriend has been asking me to take her there for awhile and I went last week. I have heard all the hype and wanted to experience it for myself. We had an amazing time. We had a bed for two for dinner and the food is exceptional!! The service was superb and I would highly recommend this place. After about 11pm it started to change into a nightclub. We stayed after and had a blast. I didnt have to wait in line long because I was my my girlfriends but the music in this place is a joke they played some 80s music mixed in with stuff you definately dont want to listen to to top it off the DJ cant mix. Also the drinks were ridiculously high and there is a $40 minimum if you want to use your credit card. It reminded me of college parties but more expensive with less guys you can meet, they also let in really old people in which is just gross, I dont want someone who is 55+ to be watching while I am dancing. So I showed up around 10 for the Premier List event (open bar 10-11 and reduced admission) this Friday night ("Fierce Fridays"). I had my two friends from overseas with me who were new to NYC. The bouncer didn't let ANYONE in until close to 11 and actually told us to leave the line because we didn't have a girl with us! We waited for about an hour just to be turned away. Anyway, we went across the street to Slate and danced/drank for about an hour until the girls did show up. We went back to Duvet, paid full cover and it was a complete joke. The ratio was still horrible, almost all B&T'ers, the drinks were small, weak, and expensive, and the decor was completely overdone and nausiating.

GO ELSEWHERE. There are a lot of options in the area and you don't need attitude from the bouncer at Duvet. Also beware of any lists that get you in for reduced/no cover. They don't work; don't even bother!

Don't bother. Bouncer stinks and you wait in line for over an hour for nothing. I went with my girlfriend, his boyfirend and a couple of his friends. The bouncer didn't like the fact that we had one more guy than girl and made us wait for over an hour! How ridiculous is that! The music was extremely bad, drinks were expensive and watered down, and the atmosphere sucked. Don't waste you time. It's too valuable!

Duvuet is a bit past it's hayday with a pretty standard New York crowd. Great music but, nothing exciting fills the air. The space is gorgeous with beautiful bathrooms. I left this horrible place after being ignored and informed that we will have to share a bed with another couple. Hello? what was the reservation for?? If I had read through all the reviews written here I wouldn't have gone to that place. It was empty, and we would have to share a bed????? Started with some dinner with some friends and not only was the food amazing but the service was top class. They paid attention to our every need. As the night got later and later it became even more exciting. I haven't seen so many beautiful people in one room in a long time. They were all dressed to impressed. My friend planned his party. Purchased eight bottles and brought in 40 young, gorgeous patrons to their establishment.

He worked it out with the manager in advance. Once there, the doorman was rude, told him to "forget" what the manager said and refused to let 1/2 of his party in unless he bought a total of 12 bottles! They literally extorted my friend on his b-day! Once in there, the place was 75% empty, full of bridge and tunnel barely-legals and the music was terrible! This shocked me because just a year ago the place was first-class.
Don't bother blowing your money or wasting your time with this place, go somewhere where a 6,000 tab isn't a requirement to celebrate your birthday with friends.

We arrived at midnight. The line outside the club was endless and a whole bunch of very important security guys was busy chasing everyone from corner to corner (in a very rude manner, that is). We were 3 girls and hence got in relatively easily. Admission was $20, the club itself was fairly empty. The few people that were actually inside were B&T from head to toe. Average age was about 20, average IQ was minus 5. The music was horrendous. In an effort to make things a little more fun, I ordered lemon drops (shots). They were small and $10 each..... Duvet has a lot to learn. I go out to clubs all the time and I have never encountered a ruder group. It's plain hostile at the door. Once inside you realize why. The staff is not capable of handling a busy Saturday night in NYC. The walk to the bar is like a walk to Siberia. Who designed this place? The table next to us came even earlier (8pm) and they were only on their second course. Only when they threatened to leave without paying, did the manager do something. Apparently they weren't the only ones dissatisfied, quite a few tables walked out. Also to note, that on the menu it said that at $125, tax and tip were included yet on the bill they still added tax. It's really sad that such a nice place would have such lousy service. Needless to say that this was the worst valentine's day ever.

Try to get in to this spot, if you can. They definately do a great job keeping out all the losers. I only saw amazing well dressed people. The girls were amazing and the guys were all dressed to impress. So many good looking people and I saw Linsay Lohan and her crew drinking ang having a blast on one of their vip beds. Ignore the negative reviews, its probably from losers that can't get in. I've been here numberous times and my friends and i always have an amazing time. If you can't get into the nightclub try coming in for dinner, that always helps the headache at the door.

At first glance the place seemed great: a huge jellyfish tank, neat euro looking atmosphere and the drapery with the beds presented a different spin, but overall the drinks were too pricy and the selection was extremely limited to begin who doesnt serve a mojito? Plus the hour long wait to retrieve my coat was a bit much. If you are looking for the classy place their website reveals be prepared to be disappointed, this is no longer an A list club.

If you have spent anytime in New York.. you will be dissapointed by duvet. If you are just visiting, dont allow your few days in this fine city to be wasted in what is perhaps the most undesirable low-class night club in manhattan. To say the service is sub-par implies that that duvet is aspiring to a standard. Do not be decieved. My party was ruffed up by the ostentatious, door-men.. our bill was inflated and we were charged for liquour that never arrived. I have never been so inspired to author a review of a night club. But the abusive staff and insipid management should get what they deserve.

Took friends visiting from out of town last night. We were a little worried given the negative reviews. We we very pleasantly surprised - from the hostess all the way to the Maitre D' that allowed us to stay on the bed for 4 hours even though the place was packed - everyone was more than nice and friendly. The food was delicious, the place was beautiful, the beds were surprisingly comfortable.. what more can I say? Our friends thanked us all night long.

The service was horrible. I booked a bed for my birthday party, was told that people I have invited will get in for free, as they should be on the guest list. Most of us did get in for free, but they made couple of my guests pay. When I tried to talk to someone, noone from the stuff was helpful. I had to freeze outside for twenty minutes only to get this response: "oops, it gets a little hectic sometimes." Never got the money back. Securities, persons in charge of guests list are the rudest I've ever seen in any club of NY. Waiter service wasn't any good either, waitress almost never came up, it took a while to bring whatever asked for, bottled vodka was warm, cleaniness of the bed was not maintained by the stuff. My overall experience is just plain horrible!

WOW!!! I have never seen a more beautiful place and I have traveled all over the world. My girlfriend has been asking me to take her there for awhile and I went lat week. I have heard all the hype and wanted to experience it for myself. We had an amazing time. We had a bed for two for dinner and the food is exceptional!! The service was superb and I would highly recommend this place. After about 11pm it started to chnage into a nightclub. We stayed after and had a blast. We had some friends join us later on in the night and only was it later on that I realized that we spent about 6 hours there. Try it out for yourself!!!

the service and management at duvet is completely sub-par. just one of our problems the other night ... we caught them serving us a far lesser quality alcohol. management refused to make corrections to our bill, accomodations, or apologies.

although we are native nyers, we have been to clubs worldwide. service makes or breaks a night out. this place is simply among the worst.

Duvet is a breath of fresh air in a city of boring nightclubs and un-inspiring resturants. Every detail of the place, from the layout to even the smallest pillow placement seems to awaken the scences while putting the stress's of everyday life to sleep. Whether your their for the food (picture the feeling of dinner while you sleep) or their for the nightlife atomosphere, Duvet will not only meet your expectations but exceed them. This place is so amazing!! Don't listen to these lame reviews. My friends and i had a great time at Duvet. We've been there before for dinner and went last week for a friends birthday. The service is awesome and they just launched their Bellano Show which blows you away!!!!! It's sexy and we loved it. We stayed after for bottle service and the club has to be the best in NYC! It was packed with lots of hotties and we saw Markus Schenkenburg (however you spell it) lounging out on one of the beds. Ignore all the neg reviews try it out for yourself.

My friend bought 2 beds for her birthday party and it was an absolute mess. They kept us outside for half an hour, even though we had a reservation. Once we got inside we had to stand around for another 30 minutes to wait for the staff to figure out where our beds were, and another 15 minutes before we finally got our bottle service. I have been to several 'chi-chi' places in this city and it has never been so disorganized or horrible, especially not when you have reservations for bottle service. It should also be noted that we were a group of maybe 2/3 women, 1/3 men...all attractive/well dressed...not rowdy.
Everything else was just as mediocre - the music, staff (rude)...even coat check was a disorganized mess. Duvet management really needs to get their act together - it will close soon if they don't.

This place is a disaster- from unfriendly, unprofessional staff, to generic, not very fresh and extremely overpriced food, to $20 tiny cocktails. The crowd was extremely unattractive, there was no vibe to speak of, the music was so so.Unless you want to get husselled at the door, and then get husselled a lot more once you are inside do not go there. We had the worst experience here and left with a very sour taste in our mouths.

This place really was the worst bar/restuarant I think I've ever been to! The pretentious vibe at the door makes it seem as though the most beautiful crowd in NYC attends, but in reality it's greasy older men, with scantily clad girls with big fake breasts that appear inside. Food was overpriced, mediocre, and it's so dark you can't see what you're eating. Service was attrocious, and the atmosphere...well I already explained it. You couldn't pay me to go back.

went with a group of friends on a saturday night - we signed up on the velvet guest list. they called us to confirm and they assured us there would be no problem getting in. when we got there, they wouldnt let us in, gave us a hard time and then charged us 20 dollars even though they said it would be free before midnight. it was such a trashy, terrible crowd inside the club. music was ok, not great. not worth going to and they dont live up to their promises. dont go!

I was there for a birthday and had dinner. The food was amazingly good! You think its just for clubbing, no, it's really for dinner. I love everything about this place. Their cocktails were excellent. And honestly, the price wasnt bad considering its NY we are talking about. One bad thing, they only give you 2 hrs to eat. After that, you lose the bed, because they will bringing in the club scene and bottle service. So go eat around 7 and you will be save. Oh, you have to make reservation. It's a must.

The idea of having beds all around a club decked out with lavish decor, Roman-like ambiance is a sight to see, which unfortunately you must have to fully experience what the club has to offer. The music is great, the service is good, but it all comes at a price. The go-go dancers they have with the very attractive wait staff, make the evening a pleasurable if not sensual one, especially when laying in a bed as the clubgoers dance all around you. Its good fun, but a bed is a must. Get hammered before you come here, because the drinks are *unbelievably* spendy. The attitude from the bouncers / door hosts are relatively the same as you'll find in the most lavish of clubs -- arrogant, brash, and unbelievably rude. The people are most definitely beautiful here, however, you have to be prepared to come in here either with a) a lot of money you're willling to spend b) bottle service if you arrive after midnight c) tolerate the pushy service.

Whoever thought it would be good to put beds in a club was setting itself up for trouble (the fun kind)! This is the perfect place for an evening of debauchery! The only true way to loosen up and have a blast, however, is to buy your own bed, and that can get costly. Otherwise, there is nowhere for you to go as there is no real dancefloor. Best bet is to go with a large group of friends and get a bed together.

I was at Duvet this weekend despite the mixed reviews i have read. I had a great time and the food was more than worth the wait. The staff was energetic and accomodating. After dinner, my guests and I stayed for the after-dinner nightlife extravaganza. The drinks were great and so was the vibe. i recommended Duvet to friends that couldn't make it out this weekend and will be returning soon. I also saw something about a Mother's Day brunch. I think I'll get my mom in on the excitement as well!

When you make reservations for a table and buy dinner for your girfriends, you don't expect the "door people" to have to approve your guest list. A friend came to join our table a bit later, and even though we were spending up a storm, had dinner and were still drinking at our own table, the staff would not let a friend in to join our party- the managers would do nothing to help, simply insisting that the only people who would be given access are the people who would be buying bottles- hello- that's what we were already doing-- do yourself a favor... there are plenty of places to spend your money in NY. Not only are these people rude but clueless as well, The food isn't anything you can not afford to miss and the attitude will make you sober again, so it's just not worth the $$.

Went for a b-day party last night. We had a bed reserved for 9:30. We weren't seated till 10:30 even though all of us were there on time. Ordered drinks and food. Waited an hour an a half for the food to come. When we asked the waitress what was going on, she said "it's just busier on Saturday nights." Shouldn't they plan for busy nights? Not to mention, we ordered Sushi which doesn't need to be cooked. Yes, the atmosphere is very cool-- they showed Cirque du Soleil videos all night. Lots of pretty people to look at, but along with that came a very pretentious vibe. If that's what you are into-- go for it.

My husband and I had dinner last night at Duvet with some friends. This place was my best experience in NYC this year. The service was fast and on point and very friendly. Anything and everything i needed was produced in lightning speed. The food and drinks were nothing short of absolutely amazing. I must have had 10 white satin mojito's. Definitely try the dungeness crab, the skirt steak salad and the hake fish. Don't believe the negative reviews; this place is well worth it!!!!

This place is very nice. But it seems to lose the old club atmostphere centro fly had. Now it has converted into an ultra chic "miami" style nightclub with load of back lighting. The place is very nice. You have to check it out. Expect to pop some bottles.

This is the first time I've ever taken out of my life to write a review. It had to be done. I visited Duvet yesterday evening (Sat Night) and was more than impressed and delighted. The space was very crowded with a date crowd, some suits, and mostly beautiful people. the service was outstanding and i appreciated the wine list choices. The food was my favorite part though. The crispy eel was immaculately prepared as was the sushi we had. My party decided that we wanted to stay for nightlife after our heavenly encounter with dinner and it was by far one of the most fun nights we've had in a long time. WE got a couple of bottles and the bottle girls were just as fast and fun. You MUST try Duvet.

i decided to visit duvet bcus of all the hype surroundin it. we had a bed bookd on saturday evenin and the place was packed. the atmosphere was buzzin and the place was full of beautiful people, includin myself. we ordered a sushi platter and i must admit, we were waitin for 30 minutes for it to arrive. drinks service was also very slow. the place was very busy and i dont fink the staff is ready to cope with it all. however, the food was excellent and the novelty of eatin & drinkin in bed makes u relaxed and u can chat to the opposite sex more casually and jump into bed with them. i was disappointd that the tank was empty, i think the jellyfish died of starvation from the slow service. overall, u have to go. beautiful scenery with beautiful people.

This is probably the WORST dining/nightlife experience I've ever had in NYC... uh let me correct myself, all of AMERICA! Frist of all be warned that you must use a credit card to secure a "bed" in an this completely empty pretentious warehouse. Also, the house has a 2 appetizer, 1 entree minimum per person. When we asked to see the wine list, our waiter informed us there wasn't one available??! The wine list apparently "does not leave the bar area." We had to put back on our shoes and walk to the bar to retrieve the wine list. The food was flat and overpriced. The service was the horrendous. NYC do yourself a favor and give this place an EXTREME MAKEOVER!!

It live up to its name in the fact that a duvet cover makes a ugly blanket look pretty. Duvet Lounge tries to use the pretty bar to cover up the fact that the service and food is sub par. I had 5:30 reservations and they didn't seat us until almost 6 because they were still prepping the wait staff! The server we had should have had buttons all over her outfit and should have said "Welcome to Friday's". I went for the prefix menu and each dish was supposed to come WITH wine. She continuously brought the wine AFTER we were finished with the dish. And never said what the wines were. I would go into the rude hostess, but that is another story! The food was awesome, but not at those prices.

This past Saturday night was a lot of fun at Duvet! The food and cocktails were amazing and loved every recommendation from our serverette, but it took forever for cocktails and food to come out. The place is obliviously not ready for its potential and needs to get a grip before it bombs. The atmosphere is beyond fun...people dancing on beds, pic flashes everywhere, and the huge jellyfish tank is a big convo piece. The menu is slightly overpriced, but cocktails are on point. If the service wants to kick us out of bed in two hours then they really should get it together to do so.

I can't believe all the negative reviews. We had a wonderful experience. We were seated as soon as our full party was there - though we went a little early, 7:30 - the place was still packed. The portions on the sushi platter were surprisingly large, the fish fresh, the skirt steak salad AMAZING, and with the exception of the drinks we got at the bar while waiting for our party, the drinks strong. Nobody rushed us and we had a wonderfully relaxing evening. The decor was beautiful and we'll definitely go back.

Duvet's decor resembles a Turkish harem less the colorful ceramic tiles. The relaxing beds are its strongest selling point, and unlike most bars, this one isn't over-croweded. (Guess the B&T don't know about it yet.) There is a dance floor tucked away downstairs. Downers include a very long coat check line on weekends--20 minutes tonight and $3 *per item* fee. Top-shelf drinks are $12 and the bartenders are cool. They host a lot of private parties but are still open to the public because this place is really big.

Decor was nice, basically it looked like CentroFly with beds inside. Unfortunately, the beds weren't really comfortable.
The staff was very nice, but the service was a bit slow and annoying, and the food was very average for the most part.

I wouldn't go again, and would be surprised if this place survived and made it till spring...

went to duvet this past saturday night, we were all next door at snitch which was less than desirable and a couple of us ladies decided to pop next door and see what was up with the new place duvet. the guys at the door were very pleasant and accomodating and the decor inside was amazing. this place is a blast as long as you dont have to pay the bill - it came to $1300 for three bottles! i predict this place is going to be hot so you better go now before it gets too tough to get in! i would absolutely go back here again in a heartbeat. my only complaint is that the music was very "loungy remix" and we would have liked to dance a bit. i literally fell asleep towards the end of the night this place is so tranquil and intoxicating!
