My daughter has been dancing here for 7 of her 13 years dancing. She loves it here and would not go anywhere else. She admires all of her teachers who all have a passion for dance which shows through in their teaching. Like all dance studios it has had its ups and downs but is going way up now due to the dedicated teachers and staff currently at the studio. With the refocus of becoing a performing arts studio it has opened up many other opportunites for so many more students. I would highly recommend you come and try a class and see for yourself.

My 21/2 yr old has been going to The Dance Company since the summer and she LOVES it!. I love how kind and patient the instructors are. The Dance Company is family friendly and offers a variety of classes to choose from, they offer ballet, tap, mommy and me, hip hop (boys) musical theater , jazz and a BUNCH of other classes that I cant remember right now.. the best part is, you can take a free trial class to see if its the right studio for your family.

As an instructor at The Dance Company Arts Conservatory, as well as Artistic Director, I would like to respond to the previous review. First of all, ownership and management of TDCAC recently did decide to go nonprofit, not to reduce accountability (those who have experience in nonprofit work know that going nonprofit actually means greater accountability), but to be able to provide scholarship opportunities to promising dancers who may not otherwise be able to access high quality dance training, as well as to be able to fundraise and receive grants to be able to provide more enriching performance and education opportunities for our students at lower cost to their parents.
We, at TDCAC, pride ourselves in creating a warm, inviting, family friendly atmosphere, but with that comes an inherent concern for the safety and well being of our students and clientele. While we understand that younger siblings may become restless, we also cannot allow small children to run in and out of the door, slam the glass door to the point of unnerving other parents in the lobby, or wander about with a metal rod meant for retrieving merchandise in the retail store, coming close to hitting glass windows with it. One of our top priorities is being open and friendly, but our number one priority is having our students and clients feel safe and comfortable. I invite you to come check us out for yourself! Try a class, meet our wonderful, caring staff, and see why TDCAC is a great place to experience the art of dance.

My opinion: Try out a class at The Dance Company Arts Conservative- the teachers are great if you don't expect quick progress. They will love on every kid that comes in. But if you bring your toddler, don't forget their straight jacket.

A great experience that turned sour. I started with The Dance Company before it was The Dance Company Arts Conservatory in mid 2011. It was advertised as a family friendly studio. The studio was run by Dana Meeks who was rarely seen. I really adored the atmosphere for the most part and loved how the teachers interacted with the kids. Because my daughter was four I was understanding of the lack of emphasis placed on skill progression. Fast forward to a year and a half later, my daughter decides to join the competition team. We are required to take 2 hours a week but decide to take three. Her teacher, Lindsey, has a full time job and all of the parents on our team are quite disappointed with the fact that our girls are quickly becoming bored with the fact that they are running the same two dances 2 hours a week and not getting the 'technique' class that we are paying $60 for. Their teacher does not even show up to their first competition. Our girls are quickly falling behind the recreational students because no one is addressing the fact that they are not being taught any new skills, we continue to be team players, I even monogram the whole competition teams dance bags free of charge. The owner, Dana, sells the studio to Kat McClure around Christmas. Kat sees the issues and gets to work correcting them. Our girls go from not placing at all in their first competition to first place platinum in their third. As is always the case, people are uncomfortable with change and start complaining. The teachers are uncomfortable with the fact that they might start being evaluated, and the parents are uncomfortable with the new faces and the new vibe. Rumors start flying and don't get addressed. The kids are forgotten. Everyone is so stuck complaining that the studio dissolves into chaos. Dana reneges on the deal and buys the studio back. She says she is going to turn it into non profit (read: get rid of all accountability for the teachers to actually TEACH). Summer session begins and I find out that Dana fired a great teacher and the former manager because she 'didn't know where her loyalty lay' (read: she was the only one that didn't forget about the kids during all the drama- she actually helped instead of spreading rumors and complaining). I have a one year old. We have been there since before he was born. He has always crawled around, and now that he walks, he walks around. Since she was seldom there before she sold the studio (she is also a Realtor) she seldom got the opportunity to see him move around, but it has never been a problem in this family friendly studio. I saw that his touching things and walking around was making her uncomfortable (read:she had a physical reaction and her body language shut down), so I put him in a carrier on my back. So that she wouldn't be uncomfortable. The next day. I said something on my PERSONAL Facebook page (not the company page) about her reaction. I got a call saying that we needed to find a new studio. She said that she saw my Facebook post, and that my child was moving around too much. I went up to the studio and asked her if this had anything to do with their actual student- my 6 year old- she said no. I asked her why she wouldn't just ask me to wear him instead of kicking us out and why she would end a BUSINESS relationship over something on my PERSONAL Facebook page, and she said that she was offended and that she had spoken with the other teachers and they had decided that my son was disruptive. She said he was holding a bottle of windex- Why are the chemicals in your 'family friendly' studio within reach of children? It was in his hand for all of 2 seconds. I asked if he had damaged anything- she said no. He was not crying either. So basically he touched things. Like a one year old. In a 'family friendly' studio. She then told me that she does like kids but hers were raised with structure (implying that mine are not) and that I need to bring him soft toys to play with like the other parents. I don't know many toddlers that can play with toys for 2 hours straight while their sister takes classes without getting bored. But apparently she does. And now I have to tell my 6 year old on the day before her birthday that she cant see the teachers she loves anymore. Because I expressed my opinion on MY Facebook page. I recorded our conversation on the voice recorder app on my phone and have her voicemail so that I can look in to the legalities of this. My opinion: Try out a class at The Dance Company Arts Conservative- the teachers are great if you don't expect quick progress. They will love on every kid that comes in. But if you bring your toddler, don't forget their straight jacket. And if you do forget it, be prepared to take your parenting insults like a woman! 3 years, over $4,000, down the drain because she was offended.

Highly recommended! I started my daughter at this studio a year ago and I wouldn t go any where else! Teachers are amazing and the kids love them. Always easy to make payments and shop for merchandise. The store inside is super helpful and the kitchen for parents to sit and watch is convenient. I love the people here and the atmosphere! I always feel comfortable leaving my child here because I know they will be safe and taken care of. Can t wait for my daughter to put on an amazing recital at the end of the year!

Great teachers, they are really impressive. The ballet instructor performs with fw metropolitan ballet and my daughter loves to go watch her dance. My daughter really looks up to her and it is so great for her to be able to learn from her. the competition director is awesome and has the best choreography. I can't wait to see the dances this year. Overall, my daughter loves it here and can't wait to get her 4th year on the competition team started. she's made great friends here. I have as well! I even started taking classes with other moms while she's in class!

I got introduced to this studio by a current dancer here. I've just recently been attending classes here at the Dance Company & can honestly say i love it here already. This studio gives there full out to us. The teachers here are truly amazing, the staff is so helpful, & the people here are so welcoming! I'm just a beginner & i already have grown so much thanks to the hard work of these teachers. They'll give individual help without hesitation. No doubt this is the BEST Dance Studio I have been too. I've had no problems at all & its a relief not to deal with drama. I would recommend this Company to anyone to join. You wont be disappointed! (:

I have had my daughter enrolled in this dance company for over 3 years now and I couldn't be happier. You are greeted as you walk in and helped with whatever customer service you need. They sell dance apparel ranging from shoes to leotards. There is no need to make an extra trip to the specialty store. A super friendly environment where you can come and feel comfortable knowing your child is in good hands. The teachers work extremely hard to improve every single dancers skills and you get your moneys worth from every class. I've never been to a studio with such an amazing line-up of teachers! Its not only about dancing either, my daughter has proudly become part of the TDC family. I would recommend this studio to any dancer out there; from the beginners to the advanced. Also think about auditioning your child for the award-winning competition team!

reat teachers, but worse owner ever, poor customer service. She says she cares about the kids and that they come 1st, but with her actions, she is always making kids upset and she even makes some of them cry. She will take your payment and then next month say you havent paid. She will prob tell her friends to leave good feedback to cover this one up, but I will keep checking and repost.

The Dance Company is a great place to be. As you can see by most of the reviews. We love the owner Dana and all the instructors. They expect much from the dancers and because they do, it has helped our daughter excell at her God given tallent. The environment is one of a family with the girls and boys helping each other along the way.

If you are looking for a great dance studio look no further.

I am a parent of two children that attend classes at The Dance Company. Both my children love their teachers and the other students at the studio. I am a little bothered by comments that this is no place to have fun and that the competition team does not perform well. My children seem to always have fun in class and have learned so much in their different areas of dance. As for the competition team, I have attended some of the events and have seen top awards issued to the team. There was a 2nd over all at Jump, a 7th over all at Dance Showcase, a 4th over all at Dance Showcase and many other awards handed out to the team over the years. If you are looking for a great place to dance that will push your up and coming dancer then this is the place to be. If you are looking for a place for your child to make new friends and have some fun then The Dance Company is the place to be.

My child has been dancing for just over two years now. The teachers and the staff here at the dance company have been wonderful. The owner of the studio has been wonderful during the transition of the studio manager quitting. She has gone the extra mile to see that everyone is taken care of and feel welcome. I would recommend this studio to anyone who is looking for a place for their child to dance. The atmosphere here is very warming and the children are loved tremendously.

I have moved my girls three times in four years looking for a quality dance studio. I won't say where we have been but they are the more popular studios in the area. We experienced favoritism, poor instruction, teachers talking about inapropriate things and even screaming at the children. Finally we have found a place with great instructors that are friendly. The other parents are very helpful and the kids get along great. The facility is the best I've seen here. If you are tired of paying for bad instruction and bad attitudes...go to The Dance Company...we love it!\r

Pros: Great location, great teachers, great everything!

Cons: All our friends aren't here..yet!

I've been dancing at the Dance Company for over a year now and couldn't be happier. The teachers have such strong backgrounds in dance and really bring so much to the classes. I have learned a LOT from them! It's a great environment! I would highly recommend it!

We have been at The Dance Company since they opened their doors and couldn't be happier! My daughters have made better friends here than any of the studios we've been to in the past. The Dance Company maintains a positive environment for the students and visitors. The quality of instruction is amazing! Mrs. Megan is such a fabulous ballet instructor and individual. She has such a passion for dance and for her students. Mrs. Jennifer is on the cutting edge of current trends. She is teaching the kids some amazing choreography. Mr. Mike runs the office like a pro and doubles as "studio security". He makes sure that anyone coming in the front door has a legitimate reason for being there. I feel completely at ease when I leave my girls in the care of the staff at The Dance Company. If you're looking for a new "dance home" you need to check them out. It has become a home away from home for my daughters and I know you'll love it, too!

I have bee dancing at the dance company for over a year now, my first time doing ballet. I have fell in love with mr. mike and mrs. megan which is my ballet instructor and she is so sweet and patient. She's a great instructor also, she's amazing and makes me feel comfortable. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else, I feel like it could be my second home. I recommend anyone to join at the dance company.

I started my daughter at The Dance Company last year and we have both loved every minute of it! I have made friends with other mom??s and my daughter has made friends in class. Mrs. Megan is incredible to watch and I am thankful my daughter has had such a great experience here. Dana did a wonderful thing by opening this studio. Thank you Mike and the other staff too! The first recital was outstanding last year and we look forward to the growth and expansion of the studio and are happy to be apart of it. The only way we??re leaving is if they open a second studio further south!
