If you want to take your vehicle to a criminal, then go ahead and take it to Leif Hansen's facilities. (google him and find out - leif hansen auto body convicted) He will use your vehicle, pit you against your insurance company, not to do the right thing, but rather to make as much money as he can. Total con artist. He does not care about any inconvenience to his customers charging high fees and unneeded procedures for your repair. If for some reason your car does end up there, and you decide not to repair there, get ready for hundreds of dollars in storage and admin fees for doing nothing! Read before you sign. You give away ALL of your rights on his repair order contract Good luck with this shop if you decide to go ahead anyway brainwashed by his lying commercials.

The experience I had at Leif's is so extreme, I had to write a review for others to see. I took my car into Leif's immediately after a collision and the agent who helped me was friendly, but made me sign at least 1/2 dozen pages of paper

This place is a SCAM and they take advantage of people. I called leifs because they have free towing and my reverse went out so I couldnt move the beast. Its an 83 Buick so pushing it uphill was not an option. They were nice at first, dean said it was not the transmission and it wouldnt cost nearly as much. My relief lasted a good 5 minutes when he handed me some outrageous estimate of almost 1800 dollars! Thats almost double what I paid for the car and Im a full time student not to mention the holidays...
So we talked he went from 1200 to 1000 to 800. He told me it was a combo of the water pump and intake. so I explained to him I wasnt able to pay that much and we agreed he would do the water pump for 300 and I would bring the car back later when I had money to spend he circled the water pump on the invoice and I left. He calls a week later and says my car is ready and told me my total was 807... I was livid and at a loss for words I had to borrow money from my girlfriend my brother and my mom to come up with another 600. And he only gave me a week to do it...
I went with my girlfriend to find out why I was paying more than what I singed for and to get the car because something was not right. we asked why he did so much work when I made it clear to him I didnt have that kind of money to spend and our agreement was he would only do the water pump... then he got rude and made us sit for 20 minutes and comes back saying " my boss says pay 500 and never call us again. dont call for towing dont call for repairs he doesnt want to see your car back ever." still more than we agreed on and now hes being a jerk all I wanted was a copy of the invoice I signed so I could make prove that we had a legal agreement for 300 and we had to wait for almost an hour at 5:30 pm. And he couldnt find it...
He couldnt find it so thats a legal issue and thats when dean got an attitude with my girlfriend. He says were going to put all the old parts back in your car and you can tow it out of here tomorrow. Fine... we leave and go to pick up our daughters from daycare. when we get half way to Portland he calls my phone and yells at me he found the invoice and if I dont turn around and come back right now Ill be charged for the work they did, towing, and three weeks storage fees then he hung up before I could say hello.. I chose to get my children and called the front desk to tell the lady I have to pick up my kids and I will be there first thing in the morning. She was okay with it but dean was not and called me yelling again
I came back the next day to get my car I paid them 800 dollars and its smoking the windshield wipers wont turn off and its leaking bad. On top of that the original problem is not fixed and they gave me more problems just for asking for a copy of the work order. Not only am I out 800 dollars my car is still not working and NOW I need a new transmission after he told me that wasnt the problem!!
I am warning everyone Leifs is a scam. They lied about my cars problems didnt fix anything and falsified documents so I would have to pay more money than I had. Its called EXTORTION.

My recent experience with Leif's for auto body repairs on my Honda-CRV was all I could have hoped for in the way of personal treatment and professional expertise. I was very pleasantly greeted (and offered refreshments) by the receptionists while waiting for an estimator. I could positively feel the upbeat environment! From the start I noticed a team oriented workplace and believe me I know the difference. David clearly and concisely explained what choosing Leif's would mean to me in the way of customer service and satisfaction. I had seen an advertisement on television and decided to give Leif's the opportunity to "walk the talk". Leif's didn't disappoint! My customer service rep, Jessica, was excellent with explaining the process just as David was but also educated me about my rights when dealing with the responsible party's insurance company, making sure all the while that I understood the industry terminology - the lingo, the jargon. Being unknowledgeable about insurance matters, this was something quite important to me! With regular updates I felt assured that Leif's fought for all my claim was entitled to like insisting on using Honda replacement parts for instance. The insurance company estimator listed some other kind of "off brand" replacement parts. Leif's insisted on Honda parts! I could go on and on about how other essentials were handled. Although I hope I won't need Leif's repair services again any time soon I want to give a huge "shout out" to ALL involved with restoring my auto -Thanks team! And finally, to Deanna who delivered the finished product, the car looks great!

I agree Leifs is the worst. They would not let my insurance company come in to give me an estimate. I had to pay 2 weeks in extra rental car coverage because Leifs was so awful to work with. Run.

I simply dont understand some of these poor reviews. Ive been in the customer service industry for 33 years. Ive owned or managed gas stations, restaurants, mortgage and real estate companies and one used car lot. Owned a lot of vehicles and had TOO MANY experiences with body shops and car lots. After a person hit and ran my truck some months ago, I took it to my insurance agents 'preferred' body shop and they gave an estimate that missed many problems that were obvious to me. I went to Leifs and from the second I walked in was treated with better service and concern than any company with which Ive had dealings, regardless of the industry. Ive had to take the truck back two times over non related issues and they accommodated me so well that I was almost embarrassed! Everyone from the front desk to the techs in back takes time, are always happy, etc. I sat in the lobby twice and listened to other people and how they were handled and was impressed with all I heard. I went to tire school and know my way around but their tire guy told an elderly lady some things I didnt know! I wanted to go over and say 'Dont buy tires from ANYONE but this place' I know by now you probably think Im Leifs cousin but I dont know the man. In fact, I NEVER give good reviews except for some books, and actually have filed complaints against other types of business's for poor service. Ill never take my vehicles anywhere else for anything. What I like a lot is that they are into regular auto service including oil changes. Wish Id thought of putting together a body shop like this. Marvin Von Renchler

Oh, where to start. All I needed was a new door. My window was smashed in by someone using a crowbar to put pressure on the window and therefore they damaged the door as well. I heard Leifs on the radio and assumed they were a good company protecting me from the insurance companies, but I got so much less.

I took my vehicle in and was told it would be 7-10 days. I thought that was a little long but perfectly acceptable. I had to rent my own car for I didn't have the right insurance coverage (lesson learned, but that's all on me). 3-4 days later I got a call saying that my insurance company adjuster (or whatever they are called) came and accepted the claim and they were now ordering my door and it would be 7-10 days?? Not sure what happened there as to why the door wasn't ordered in the first place--it was broken into so there was no issue as to coverage and what happened. I would have paid for it myself regardless.

So, 3-4 days go by and I call and they don't have my door yet. Still waiting--and again 3-4 days later I get a call saying they got the door but are backlogged and it may be another week. We are 2 weeks into this now. Finally, I get upset when it's 3 weeks later and so I call in. They haven't started on my vehicle yet, but after talking to a manager and complaining 3 times in one day (that's how many times I had to call in to get them to work on my car Immediately) they finally said ok, we'll get to your car tomorrow. So, another week goes by (excuses were we have to let the paint dry, waiting on a part that wasn't shipped with the door, etc.) and I still don't have my car--it's now been over a month.

So, a little over a month comes and I finally get my vehicle back. Whatever you do--do not choose this company.

LEIFS RUINED MY CAR ,I got it back with a large dent and I could not drive it on the freeway without fear that I would be injured, that is when I contacted LEIFS and they told me to let them look at it next week.
LEIFS gave me about $100.00 to take my car somewhere else to get it fixed. LEIFS also said that the money was to cover fixing all the blisters and bad paint that they applied. Leifs took my car on a joy ride putting 15 miles on it. It was RUINED after LEIFS got hold of it.
I truly beleive that I will receive some type of legal threats from LEIFS for writting these reviews. When I complained to Leifs about damages they did to my car they said that I was putting a threat on them and changed what I said to somthing entirly different.
I contacted the Justice Department, but I could not fight LEIFS. LEIFS had the nerve to tell me to bring it back after they told me to take it somewhere else for all the repairs needed. Perhaps I misunderstood that Leifs told me that they will return my car to like it was before the accident. My pictures do not lie
I lost thousands of dollars when I sold my car that was in perfect condition believing that LEIFS would ruin it still more. My car was two years old and I paid about $36000.00 for it. I lost thousands.

Worst customer service experience in my entire life.
SHORT OUTLINE
1) COMPLETELY MISDIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE ISSUES / My Rings were bad when I brought it in.
2) Didn't repair the 3 issues I wanted repaired then charged me for the work.
3) Didn't honor 12 Month, 12,000 Mile Warranty when I brought it back.
4) Charged for Un-necessary work instead of the actual problems.
5) Broke My Radiator while in the shop & charged me for it
6) Left a Main Power Cable loose on my engine: after repairs, the cable came unplugged & the car stalled on the freeway nearly causing a major multi car accident. (after they repaired it - instead of towing it back to my home, I had to pick it up at Leif's in Tigard. Requiring a second person and second vehicle to assist me)
7) When I returned it for warranty issues they DIDN'T offer a loaner vehicle. I drove my dad's beater truck for months..
8) I wasted 7 Months of my life attempting to get my car fixed, complaining, and returning it back to Leif's multiple times.
9) They didn't list my repair requests on the written estimate - because of this, miscommunication was a major issue, I had to go back several times in person and verbally explain to the mechanic what my issues were.
10) They wouldn't return my phone calls while my car sat in their shop for an eternity.
11) I finally got a meeting with Leif Hanson (After several months of complaining) I requested that my engine be Re-Diagnosed. When they re-diagnosed it and discovered that the rings were bad in the first place, they offered to repair it again for an ADDITIONAL $4,000 on top of the $3646 I ALREADY PAID for the same problem.
THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR 12 Month / 12,000 Mile Warranty.
12) As a final slap in the face, I took my car to a DIFFERENT HONEST MECHANIC and paid him to re-repair everything I already paid LEIF'S to repair but couldn't ( WHILE STILL UNDER LEIF's 12 Month / 12,000 WARRANTY!!! ) It was about 30% less money.

LONGER DETAILED VERSION: Listing the 3 Problems I Requested Repaired but Ultimately were NOT Repaired BY LEIF'S

PROBLEM 1: Smoke was pouring out of my tailpipe & around the engine area. (My rings were bad)
(Never Listed on the Written Estimate)
They completely misdiagnosed the issue and replaced the head gasket & installed a new Manifold, They also said I needed Power Steering Flush, Transmission Service & Flush, Serpentine belt replacement, Fuel Injection Flush & Cleaning, & Transfer Case Output seal. Estimate: $2977.11 While it was it was in the shop they broke my radiator and upped the charges to $3222.79 When I got it back it was still smoking out of the tailpipe (they did address the smoke coming out of the engine area) I brought it back several times under warranty and they replaced the head gasket again but never fixed the problem. I finally became tired of dealing with the underlings and got a meeting with Leif..... This took several months. He didn't listen to us and was mostly rude.... I asked him to re-inspect the engine and they found the rings were bad. THIS WAS THE MAIN PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE They offered to fix the rings for an additional $4000 above the $3646 I already paid for the initial bogus repairs. If they had diagnosed the rings in the first place, I would not have wasted money on the unnecessary repairs.
I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE ENGINE FOR $2300. (Still under Leif's 12 Month / 12,000 Warranty)

PROBLEM 2: I wanted the burnt out lights in my dash board repaired: (They never listed my complaint on the estimate & they misdiagnosed the problem, fixing the ??Wire Cluster? twice, neither time were the dashboard lights replaced. When I finally explained (AGAIN) to the mechanic that I only wanted the light bulbs replaced, he did the work incompletely, MISSING the center compass & thermometer light. When I complained about this, he stated that he had already fixed it three times and didn??t want to put any more time into it. He wanted me to accept it the way it was. THIS WAS NEVER FIXED TO COMPLETION.

PROBLEM 3: My vehicle was wobbling around 60 MPH. (Never listed on the original estimate & Misdiagnosed)
Leif's repacked the wheel bearings. THE CAR STILLWOBBLED WHEN I GOT ITBACK FROM LEIF'S.
I HAD TO HIRE A NEW MECHANIC TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE: The new mechanic replaced the front stabilizer bushings, Rotors, and requested I get new tires, This completely solved the wobbling issue. Unfortunately it cost an additional $530 PAID TO ANOTHER MECHANIC & Les Schwab.

I Have Documents, Video's, Pictures, and witnesses to verify all facts provided.

Worst customer service experience in my entire life.
SHORT OUTLINE
1) COMPLETELY MISDIAGNOSED MY VEHICLE ISSUES / My Rings were bad when I brought it in.
2) Didn't repair the 3 issues I wanted repaired then charged me for the work.
3) Didn't honor 12 Month, 12,000 Mile Warranty when I brought it back.
4) Charged for Un-necessary work instead of the actual problems.
5) Broke My Radiator while in the shop & charged me for it
6) Left a Main Power Cable loose on my engine: after repairs, the cable came unplugged & the car stalled on the freeway nearly causing a major multi car accident. (after they repaired it - instead of towing it back to my home, I had to pick it up at Leif's in Tigard. Requiring a second person and second vehicle to assist me)
7) When I returned it for warranty issues they DIDN'T offer a loaner vehicle. I drove my dad's beater truck for months..
8) I wasted 7 Months of my life attempting to get my car fixed, complaining, and returning it back to Leif's multiple times.
9) They didn't list my repair requests on the written estimate - because of this, miscommunication was a major issue, I had to go back several times in person and verbally explain to the mechanic what my issues were.
10) They wouldn't return my phone calls while my car sat in their shop for an eternity.
11) I finally got a meeting with Leif Hanson (After several months of complaining) I requested that my engine be Re-Diagnosed. When they re-diagnosed it and discovered that the rings were bad in the first place, they offered to repair it again for an ADDITIONAL $4,000 on top of the $3646 I ALREADY PAID for the same problem.
THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR 12 Month / 12,000 Mile Warranty.
12) As a final slap in the face, I took my car to a DIFFERENT HONEST MECHANIC and paid him to re-repair everything I already paid LEIF'S to repair but couldn't ( WHILE STILL UNDER LEIF's 12 Month / 12,000 WARRANTY!!! ) It was about 30% less money.

LONGER DETAILED VERSION: Listing the 3 Problems I Requested Repaired but Ultimately were NOT Repaired BY LEIF'S
