An amazing mind-body experience

by Edward B.

This is a really special place for practicing healing, enlightenment and empowerment. All the staff are true practitioners, and the training has brought through and amazing process of physical strengthening, mental and emotional clarity and confidence, and am currently working on developing a spiritual sense and insight that I bring with me through my life. Thank you Master Michael and Master Kim!

Wonderful Mind & Body healing/training

by Michael A.

This place is wonderful. I came without any expectations, just wanting to feel healthier in body and mind, and that's exactly what I got. I got rid of my lower back pain and have a lot more clarity and focus in my life. They teach a style of yoga in the Taoist tradition called Dahn Yoga. While it differs in form from Indian styles, it's deeply effective in releasing stress, and discovering inner power and energy. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to feel more open, connected, and healthy.

Be warned: this a cult! They do not teach yoga here.

by Anonymous

After two sessions I realized Master Gina had misrepresented the center and what they offered, so I requested my money back. She is dishonest and seems more interested in getting money out of you than in doing any healing. They do not teach yoga, instead I was instructed to take a "Vibration" class, which consists of jumping up and down and punching yourself in the stomach 100 times to release bad energy. Gina then told me I should take a "Brain Energy" class, for an additional $20 (after the initial $265 for 10 classes). I should have known something was not right when there were only 4 peole in each class. The founder of the movement supposedly went into the mountains 20 years ago, was enlightened, then started this yoga method. However, I did not find this out until after orientation, which they didn't give me until after 2 classes. There is no website to research. The fee I paid was to include 2 healing sessions with a master, a uniform, and 10 classes. I received none of these. The whole place is very creepy. Very "Moonie" - like.

A Place to Improve Body, Mind and Spirit

by Hedy

The staff is spiritual and always welcoming. The classes not only focus on stretching, and strenghtening, but also focus on improving organs and brain functioning. Other benefits are learning to stay in the present, feeling more relaxed and having more energy.

Pros: The staff is wonderful, and the yoga varies daily.

Best Taoist Yoga in NYC!

by healingarts

Taoist Yoga is different from Indian/Hatha yoga. It combines elements of Tai Chi, breathing and energy meditation. The exercise and instructors at Tao Yoga are so wonderful and the space itself is an oasis. Unlike most Hatha Yoga centers, Tao Yoga teaches mind-body training that is not focused on learning a form, but on mastering yourself. If you're looking for more than a few Asanas, and want a powerful form of moving meditation that literally transforms your day...and body, I recommend it!

Pros: Studio, Instructors, Energy, Training

Cons: Not enough of them:)
