OK so you gotta wait outside and put you name on the list (I forgot the first time and had to wait an extra 20 mins).

I can't really say I have ever been a fan of cajun/french soul food until I came to Brenda's. But I have been bittenby

Creamed biscuit is sooo good. I wanted to go here for awhile and I am so happy I finally went. It was well worth every dime spent. The watermelon tea is simply delightful.

Brenda's Soul Food was delicious! The wait was almost 2 hours because the restaurant was very tiny and I can't say that it was worth the wait. I had the french toast which was very rich. It would have been better as a dessert than as a whole meal. I would go back here again, but only if there was no wait.

Get here early and bring no one. That is my advice to you. The place is tiny and closes at 3 (I think). The food is wonderful, but if you're planning on a leisurely weekend brunch with your posse, keep walking. Brenda's food is worth the

Pros: Beignets, Beignets, Beignets

Cons: You will wait on the sidewalk

First time we went here, the food was fantabulous! The second time, still pretty good. Last time, not so much! And we even brought out of town guests over and sung such high praises that we looked like schmucks after the food turned-out

Did I get there at yet another off day? Hmm, it's sad to see that they're still relatively new in the San Francisco dining soon and they're already burnt out.\r

The food is tasting a little lack luster. Gone are the days when I used to

I can't begin to tell you how much I love Cajun/Creole food; especially shrimp & oyster po'boys. i am getting hungry, just writing this review. Brenda's has got it all, including the best gumbo I've tasted in my life. I also waited a while

Pros: eveythin ... it is all good

Cons: the wait, but it is worth it

I have to admit, I read dozens of reviews talking about how great this place is. It did warn us that there might be a wait if you go there with a party larger than 2. We took a chance, but it was ridiculous. We watched as groups of 2 kept passing us and it literally took us 2 hrs to get seated. You would think that after seeing us wait for over an hour, instead of seating 2 tables of 2, you could simply push 2 tables together to make a table of 4. I guess this is too difficult for their incompetent staff. On top off all that, the beignets were not even very good. Chewy and a bit bland. Would def NEVER return to this spot. Horrible experience and I have NO idea why people would wait this long to eat here.

Having run a Bed and Breakfast, my husband and I are hard to please when eating breakfast out, but Brenda's far exceeded our expectations. The place has a line, so deal. Once inside and shoe-horned into your seat, order some Community

Pros: Really authentic food at very reasonable prices.

Cons: The tiny space is not for the claustrophobic.

Pros: Best I've had for comfort and soul food.

Cons: Can be a bit cramped and crowded, sometimes a wait.
