Ratings_icons Poor serves -- poor food

After waiting 45 minutes to be seated, someone in our party ordered chicken that was freezing cold in the middle. Kids wouldn't even eat their food, said it was terrible. Maybe it was just a bad night, but everything was BAD, even the service. The waitress was mad for us sending back raw/cold chicken. I'll never go there again!

Ratings_icons 50s Theme

Barbara B. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 5

Loris has a 50s theme.. black and white tiles and red vinyl booths. I had a BLT and it was good. The fries seemed a bit greasy, but it is a 50s diner. It is a tourist place.

Right in the heart of the tourist area, right off Union Square, Lori's is a great place to grab a nice breakfast. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommend.

Ratings_icons Enjoyed it

We went to this place, VERY child friendly, nice staff, the food was very good and reasonably priced (For San Francisco) but my pancakes were not the best. Everything else was satisfactory.

Pros: Kid Friendly, nice staff, fun and friendly theme, nice clown downstairs:-)

Cons: Pancakes not very good. Bitter, flat and cold syrup.

Irresponsible waitress. Angry, yelling manager. Don't inquire where your order is. Eat at a place where customers are appreciated.

Pros: food was okay

Cons: bad service

Ratings_icons the best place to hang out when it's 12:00 o'clock in the morning

rsfl459

this place the best and i should know because when the whole city is at peace at twelve o'clock in te morning then you know that htis diner is there. the people there are greast they serve you good and to the person who stated that this restaurant is bad it's the chaepest but the food comes out perfect and tastes like a home cook meal. so the if you want feel like you back in the fifties this is the palce to go. and they are at every corner and every palce in san francisco. i wish miami had this place and then i could go back in the days of when i was there. oh yeah thte ice cream there it there is the best and delicious!!!!! so come to Lori's Diner and you'll be satisfied till your taste bud give up.

Pros: the restaurant was great and good for kids to go back in the days of those years.

I thought for a 50's diner this place would be alright if not good. I was disappointed with the staffs lack of energy or personality. The fries were dull, and my tuna melt sucked, it was just plain tuna toasted between 2 pieces of bread. No tomato, no flavor to the tuna or anything. I did like the coke freeze and i have a feeling their milkshakes are good too but other than that this place is a dive.

Pros: sweet shakes

Cons: food, service, atmosphere

Cons: Servers a little impatient.

Ratings_icons Great cheap eats

goumich

I ate here several times while staying at the Chancellor Hotel just down the street. Breakfasts were large, tasty and served promptly. Lunch menu was expected diner fare, done well. And dinner was fine - meatloaf, chicken, salads, etc. Anyone can find something to his liking on this menu. Not gourmet, but good old-fashioned American grub. Service was fine, price was definitely right.

Pros: Price, comfort food menu

Cons: Decor (cheesy 50s diner style)

Ratings_icons Consistently, reliably good food

daughteire

Large diner menu, and everything is done up right. The place doesn't have tons of personality (though believe me, it tries). It seems chain-like--you're garden variety 1950s mock diner. The service is a bit sketchy. But again, you'll probably be happy with the quality/quantity of your food.

Pros: Reliably good food

Cons: Not tons of personality

Ratings_icons Mmmm, breakfast...

sanfrangrrl

I had a delightful breakfast here. We was seated promptly and our food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I had the veggie omelette with hash browns, which was awesome. Flavorful and not greasy, unlike some places. I would recommend this spot for a quick breakfast. Haven't tried the burgers yet, maybe next time. Great place for families with kids. I'm sure they'll enjoy the fun atmosphere.

Pros: value, food, service

Ratings_icons Few choices late a night

Anthony10016

As one of the few 24 hour diners in the Union Square area, this is a decent late night choice, but its not very clean and the service is not very attentive. The food is average diner food, but when you're out late and your hungry, what's a guy to do?

Ratings_icons Where's our waitress?

shellybelly

We had abysmal service at this restaurant. The staff was too busy filling ketchup bottles and salt and pepper shakers! The orange freeze milkshake was very good though. Good chili cheese fries too.

Pros: Menu

Cons: Service
