Neat Nix

Nick was referred to me by a friend, who is rather picky, so I knew he would do a good job. He came and bid the job beforehand and then did an excellent job cleaning my carpet stairs, sectional and chairs. I have a 4-yr-old, so of course, everything needed a thorough cleaning. Now my house looks and smells great. The green seal cleaning system works well.

I called Nick after I noticed 40 plus 4 to 5 stars ratings on Citysearch.

. 1st and good surprise: Nick answered and scheduled an appointment to come take a look and give me an free estimate. That was the first time I got an offer to come take a look and give me a free estimate on carpet cleaning but Nick was right, that is "the only way he can give an accurate estimate." Unlike other carpet cleaners, NeatNix does not advertise and use low coupon prices to get to your home and find things to charge you more when they get to you home and I appreciate their approach.

. 2nd good surprise: When Nick and his wife came to my home to do the cleaning, they brought more than just the magic wand like cleaning device like other carpet cleaners I have used; they brought a power scrubber, a sprayer, a bunch of hand tools, and yes, the knee protectors. They actually put on the knee protectors and get down on the floor and staircases so they can scrub and clean the carpet the right way.

. 3rd and last good surprise, actually this was not a surprise after the first 2 surprises: My carpet was spotless and in like new condition afterward. After the carpet was cleaned by NeatNix, I believe people will have a difficult time believing our carpet is over 6 years old. It was a pleasure to walk on because it is like brand new. With a 4 years old and another baby due in November, I am now confident that my carpet is clean for them to play and do all the unexpected things kids do on any floor!

. 4th and last surprise: After NeatNix finished clearning my carpet around 11am, I took my daughter to see Disney On Ice and did not come home until 7:30pm. I immediately noticed the carpet was dry, spotless, fresh, and like new. What I did not notice until I put some of my stuffs back in the rooms was that Nick and his wife actually propped the legs of my sofa and desk up on these foam cushion square blocks and I believe that was done so they could clean underneath the legs. That's the type of attention to detail you will get from NeatNix!

In comparision to the coupons-offering carpet cleaners, you will pay a bit more but you will get what you will pay for and more! For my bedrooms with a total of 662 square feet (3 size bedrooms, an extra large master bedroom with a nursing area) and 15 steps staircase, I believe I paid around $70 more when compared to the last coupon-offering carpet cleaner I used. The coupon-offering carpet cleaner came in with a magic wand like cleaning device; half an hour to 45 minutes later, he was done with the same number of bedrooms and staircases and did not even break a sweat. With Nix and his wife, it took 2 of them 2 hours to clean and they broke some good sweats afterward. To me, that worths more than the $70 I paid. NeatNix has won me over! I highly recommend you to give NeatNix a try if you care about the cleanliness of your carpet and about things such as professional and friendly service, up-front pricing, and finding someone you could trust to clean your carpet right the first time not only this year but many years down the road.

to get our sectional couch cleaned, I called several places, but Nick was the only one who called back and came by to do an estimate in person instead of one by phone. He was polite and listened to what i wanted done. I have 3 boys, so there were a few stubborn spots that didn't want to go. After our couch dried, some portions of those spots were slightly there. I called Nick again and he made an appt. to come out right away and he re-cleaned those spots again. They are now completely gone! so nice to have great customer service and someone who cares about doing their job really really well.

Nick really went out of his way. Even though it turned out I lived farther than he would normally go, he came to my house to give me a price quote and was able to come back to do a great job just a few days later. His pricing was very competitive, he was very poite and he even gave me a discount as a first time customer. Just when I had given up hope that good old fashioned quality customer service still existed.

Having the owner of the business be the one to provide the service was a very confirming feeling. Nick was very nice and was able to get up a stain so big and bad that we thought it was permanent- it's been two weeks, and there's not even a remnant of it. So long to the area carpet that we previously needed to cover it!

I'm very satisfied with Nick's work. Unlike some companies who hire people to do the jobs, Nick comes to do the cleaning himself. He uses green product. After the cleaning, I don't smell any shampoo odor. He answered my questions and explained very professionally.

Nick and Mary offer a great service. We were getting our house ready to put up for sale and I called Nick at the last minute to get an estimate. He was able to come the next day and walked me through the process and was able to give me an exact price for the cleaning. He's super personable--we chatted about tennis--a shared interest, and he gave our sweet dog lots of love.

Nick was able to get our cleaning job scheduled in a few days--which was great for getting our house ready for sale, but probably reinforced my habit of procrastinating since I was able to get such a wonderful result even though I waited until the last minute.

Nick and Mary were quick and efficient while cleaning the carpet--putting up bumper guards to protect the corners of the wall and taking time to answer all our questions. The carpet looks great! I would highly recommend Neat Nix to anyone looking for a reliable, reasonably priced carpet cleaning service. I certainly am keeping their card around for when I move into my next place.

A friend of my gave me Nick's number and said he was good, so I tried them. Mary and Nick came on time and finished on time. He explained all my questions and did a great job of cleaning the carpet. Their products are green and dog friendly so my lab was happy too! The rate for the service was reasonable.

Nick and his wife did a great job cleaning our carpets. We are very please with the results. Our carpets are clean again and our couch looks new. Price to clean the couch seemed high, but I guess that's the going rate to clean a couch. We would use Nick again.

Had to get a rental cleaned quickly. He got right back to me and was extremely professional which I appreciated. He worked with my budget and did a great job walking me through the process. The carpets look amazing. I can't believe how many stains came out. Will definitely use Neat Nix again.

Had Nick and his wife come to clean our second bedroom, hallway, stairs and an armchair that is regularly used by our dog. They showed up on time, were very thorough, and everything looked great when they were done less than an hour later.

The next day, I noticed what seemed like white powder on the stairs. Turns out that cleaning the carpets had pulled up an old powder cleaner we had used to remove pet odor and stains a while back. Nick came back the next day and was able to pull out the powder in about 15 minutes.

Would definitely use again!

My husband and I were moving out our rental and wanted the carpets to look really nice for our landlord. We have three dogs and a cat, so, although we clean regularly, the carpets definitely took a beating!

I chose Neat Nix because of the great reviews I read online and I was definitely not disappointed! Nick is a really nice guy who gives you a fair price and does a great job. Our carpets looked amazing and everything went really smoothly.

We also wanted to have our couch cleaned since we were moving into our new house and the couch also had some doggie wear and tear going. Now, the couch looks and smells great!

I would absolutely refer Neat Nix to anyone and I will definitely be calling Nick next time I need some cleaning done!

We hired Neat Nix to clean our carpet before we moved into the home we just purchased. They worked w/ our realtor on the timing, gave us an unexpected discount, and did a good job. The only down side was that we were told it would dry in 2-4 hours, and it took more like 3 days. I will use them again, though--but will clean carpets in the summer heat next time.

I had to have my carpet cleaned when moving out. Never having used a carpet cleaning service before, I wasn't sure whom to call--the cheap, sketchy fly-by-night outfit with a 7-room special coupon or the 5-star-rated, universally acclaimed Neat Nix. I decided to give Nick a try.

I called Nick to get an estimate. He came and did a thorough measurement with his cool laser thingy. He explained the process to me--uses green products, safe for kids & pets, etc. He assured me that as the owner and cleaner, he stood behind his work 100%.

The quote he left me with made me freak out a little, though, because it seemed pretty high. I called ChemDry and Stanley Steemer for some comparison shopping, and Neat Nix's quote was cheaper than ChemDry and about the same as Stanley Steemer, so I decided to go with Neat Nix.

He showed up right on time and got to work with his wife to help clear out the stuff that we hadn't moved out yet. That gave me precious time to try to pack up the kitchen. They vacuumed the carpets first and then sprayed them with cleaner. He used his truck-mounted equipment to thoroughly deep-clean the carpets. There was one wax-damaged area that he tried valiantly to repair, even though the owner had caused the damage and I wasn't responsible for it. He was very concerned about me getting my feet wet and slipping on the vinyl kitchen floor, so he put a mat down that I could wipe my feet on. His wife also made sure I had a pair of booties I could wear when walking on the wet carpet.

The cleaning took a little over 2 hours, and the carpets stayed damp for 3-4 hours afterward. They looked clean and refreshed, but the traffic wear-and-tear was still visible (it is really cheap carpet, so I wasn't expecting a miracle).

Overall, Neat Nix did an excellent job with the carpet, was very attentive to detail, and seemed genuinely concerned about my satisfaction with their work. If you need to clean your carpet or upholstery, I urge you to give Neat Nix a try. It's good customer service that sets Neat Nix apart. It's very rare to have people who take real pride in their work perform a service for you. It was quite a refreshing change from the usual blase, bottom-line-watching service providers I'm used to!

Nick and Mary Kay worked on my badly stained white sofa (pet stains) and brought it back to new. Nick first took a pillow to be sure he could help me and brought it back for my approval. He and Mary Kay came back and cleaned the sofa, told me to let it dry for a couple of days for true results...which were fabulous. They then came back and were has happy as I was and then accepted payment! Highly recommend!!! Gail

They came over to Clackamas to do a job that wasn't large or lucrative. Was very old carpet in a rental apartment, that was pet stained and worn. It looked great when they left and was part of our moving clean-up.

Niick and Mary are simply the best. They cleaned my basement (+ stairs case) carpet and sectional last year a few weeks after my infant twin sons came home from the hospital. The job was remarkable - it all looked brand new and smelled clean & fresh!

I now have them at my house cleaning the area rug in my living room and nursery. When I was ready to get these two rugs cleaned I didn't have to look anywhere else - just picked up the phone and called Nick! He was out a few days later and again, a fabulous job - of course! He and Mary got to peek in on the boys before they went down for a nap too.

They are such wonderfully nice people - salt of the earth and they take their job seriously. You will NOT be disappointed!

Having had 2 puppies reach adulthood in recent years, I'm (sadly!) well acquainted with the carpet cleaning trade in Portland. These folks are hands-down the best and will accommodate your needs thoroughly. They go above and beyond in all cases. The only thing I feel bad about is that they cleaned my carpets back in October and I'm just now getting around to writing them a positive review. The carpets are about due for a spring clean, and I know who I'll be calling. Thanks again, guys!

I chose NeatNix based on the reviews. Nick and his wife lived up to all of the reviews: on time, extremely professional, and did the job that I requested. I recently moved into a house with carpets that really should be replaced, but am unable to replace them right now. The carpet is severely stained and one room has horrible pet odor. Nick listened to my request to just give it a good cleaning. I didn't want "heroic" efforts to get the red stains out. He was able to get most of the big stains out and did his best on anything left. He did not purposefully do extra work to squeeze money out of me. He was honest about what he thought he could do. He set realistic expectations, and beat them. He was able to give me an estimate that matched the end cost, gave an accurate time frame and was friendly and personable. He really knows how to run a business. I will definitely give him a call next time I need my (new :) ) carpets cleaned.

I first called Neatnix for cleaning my carpets in September '08. Nick and Mary showed up on time, did not charge a penny more than the quote, did a through job and were very pleasant.

The second time around, our toddler son had an "accident" after too much candy on Halloween. I called Nick and he gave me sound advice on clean-up and damage control. This time, I decided to get my sofa cleaned in addition to the spot cleaning on my carpet. Again, Nick and Mary showed up on time and did a good job on cleaning my sofa/ love seat and the carpet. Nick waived my carpet cleaning charges because the stain was not set.

I will use their services in the future too.

I was to the point of knowing I would need to replace the carpet on my stairway. It was so stained and dirty from the high traffic of teenagers going up and down. I read on City Search about Neat Nix and decided to give ithem a try. Much to my pleasure and surprise, my stairway as well as the rest of the carpet in my house looks brand new! I have never had such great service or results from a carpet cleaner. There were no hidden costs and Nick was on time and very friendly. I have thrown out all of the old carpet cleaners business cards I had and replaced them with Neat Nix. Thanks Nick!

Nick and Mary K are top notch when it comes to their profession. They are very professional and upstanding human beings. They will let you know straight up what is going on and what needs to be done. There will be no extra charges on your bill, like the other companies do.
We have a 5 month old and know that we can put her on the carpet after Neat Nix is done cleaning it and not worry that the baby will be inhaling or playing on any toxins.
We recommend this company not for only the great job they do but for the great people they are.

He and his wife Mary were simply excellent folks to interact with.
He came onsite and gave a free quote, never put any pressure, and the quote was quite reasonable.
He was punctual and did an excellent job. Plus his equipment is very new and in terrific condition.
In summary, we experienced a blend of top class customer-service and quality work. We highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Neat Nix! Their team was extremely professional and had excellent service...on time, good communicators, respectful of our home and furniture. They did an amazing job...our carpets look GREAT, and we just finished a long remodel with lots of wear and tear to our carpets! Nick and Mary K. were thorough, asked lots of questions, were easy to schedule, on time, worked diligently, etc. Nick followed up to ensure that his service met our needs and expectations. If you want incredible customer service and a superior clean you MUST contact Nick at NEAT NIX. Nick was extremely professional and used great care while cleaning my sofa. My sofa has never been so clean. I found Nick's prices fair and his work excellent. It just goes to show you, you really get what you pay for. I might have found a cleaner who was cheaper to clean my sofa but you will not get result like this. I would recommend Neat NIX to anyone who wants good value and awesome service.

If you are looking for a $49.00, 3x steam room special, Neat Nix is not for you. If you understand or value what it takes to keep your home and office space cleaned by an IICRC Certified Tehcnician and want to have fresh, healthy air to breathe inside, call Nick or Mary K.

Nick, thank you for an awesome job! Did you bring someone with you? I know you are a strong guy but how were you able to move the furniture? -- heavy stuff but more awkward for one person, let alone putting the foam blocks underneath while the room dried. WOW!

I have a very happy wife, who said "I am so glad we got this done." I knew that you would take care of us but I was especially impressed by all of the little things that you did along the way. (I noticed that you got the entry to my closet -- thanks for that!)

We are not wealthy people, but we do appreciate and find tremendous value in quality work and reliable performance. You delivered a superior experience that is worth the price. We also value your use of "green" chemistry, especially with a toddler and a newborn due to arrive shortly. Babies spend so much of their time on the floors, crawling around and falling down that it is important to have a healthy home for this to happen in.

The house smells new and fresh, again. You are right, the carpet IS a huge filter that catches everything, including "microdust" that was on top of the doors, trim and under the doors on the carpet. (I am also changing the HVAC filters today.) You certainly put some life back in this carpet. It looks almost new, which is as good as this carpet can look; on a 1-10 scale, we got carpet that is a 4 because we knew the kids would not be kind to it and would be replacing it after 5-7 years. I have a non-professional carpet cleaning machine that I used on cars that we sold and spot cleaning some spills. However, I don't think that motorized plastic steam machine could do what you do so well. I won't even try it -- you've got a client.

Our carpets were old and heavily stained in many areas, so we were pretty skeptical about getting the carpets looking clean and almost new again. Nick Kovac, the owner, was very prompt in giving what we thought was a very fair bid, and we liked the idea of having Green cleaners. We set a date and time, and he and his wife arrived exactly on time. They were concerned about our cat, went over what we had previously agreed upon, then went to work and did a beautiful job. What an improvement! That old soiled carpet really does look like new. I cannot praise Neat Nix Carpet Care enough. Company owner, Nick Kovac does the cleaning himself and is truly invested in giving good service. My appointment was made in timely fashion and the cleaning was thorough. Basically everything went just as you indicated in your estimate. I LOVE THAT! Someone who does exactly as promised! In short, the Neat Nix experience brings one hope that the value of friendly customer service with a professional job done as promised has NOT gone out of style! The attention to detail is immediately evident as Nick (the owner) and Mary Kay (his wife/assistant) scour your home leaving "no stone unturned" in pursuit of carpet fiber that needs the "Neat Nix touch". I agree wholeheartedly with another customer review in that the utmost of respect was shown in protecting our furniture and other valuables during the inevitable moving and shifting of "stuff" associated with a quality carpet cleaning effort. This is the best experience in Carpet Care and customer service. From the initial telephone call to the visit to my home, all went extremely well. The Neat Nix people were very careful to avoid any damage to my furniture and decor. They also used "green" products which really cleaned in an exceptional manner. I appreciate this as my Pugs are very sensitive to chemical cleaning products. No detail was overlooked in making certain we were completely satisfied with the Neat Nix experience.
The owners of Neat Nix are commited to excellence in customer service. You deal with "real people" not some cold corporate entity miles away. They stand behind their service and reputation. I have tried several cleaners in the past few years. Finally I found a cleaner that's friendly, professional, knowlegable, honest, and on TIME. This was the best cleaning I've ever had, and Nick did everything he said he would, and more. They use certified GREEN cleaning solutions, safe for people and pets.
