A great place to recycle old computer parts. In this way, they don't end up in the dump, and they end up refurbished or used for parts and given/sold to people who need a more affordable computer. They also have resources for learning about Linux.

The Free Geek is more than a old computer recyclers. It is a place that gives free computers after you have done volunteer work. It is a place for community gatherings. It is a learning and resource center for leaning Linux/Gnu software. They have a use computer outlet call the free Geek Store. You can always find hard to get geeky items there. In fact it is a community of very intelligent people that are always will answer your question and get the old clunker computers running again. I bought PCI card and an older Apple from there. The have classes for the community every evening to show you how to run the free operating system.

What is better than free computers to the community, and giving normal folks skills with computers? This is a great program and I'm thrilled they're around.

I had a bunch of old computer equipment that was outdated and nobody wanted it, except for Free Geek. They take any computer equipment (cables, monitors, keyboards, printers, modems), WORKING OR NOT, and refurbishes them. Then they donate them to needy people who can work off time to make the purchase. Outstanding organization with the right ideas! Plus, you get a tax receipt for your donations.
