Several years ago I was seeking education in natural health care. I found that I was helped personally with natural medicines and wanted to help others. When seeking out Naturopathy education I found that it was confusing at first. I found home study programs and four year naturopathic physician colleges. I really didn't want to do ether one.I wanted to practice the true/traditional naturopathy method. It was important to me to have clinical experience but at the same time I wanted to practice the traditional methods. I did not want to go to a four year college that focused on using conventional medical techniques. I feel that form of naturopathy is not true naturopathy. Those technique, in my opinion, are for medical doctors. I wanted to learn the evaluative techniques that evaluates health in a subtle fashion using iridology, oriental observation, and bio-energetic techniques.I originally studied with a college in Canada because it required two years of experience. After finishing that program I found First National University, one of the oldest traditional/original naturopathy colleges in the US. At that point I had my credits evaluated, completed additional education and received their degree. It was important to me to get a degree from a US college. First National also requires clinical experience.First National is run by Dr. William von Peters. He has had many years of experience in naturopathy. If you want a traditional naturopathy education this is the college for you.

FNU has clinical sites in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia.
