Upsix is a pretty neat store. The store has a pretty good selection of vintage clothing to choose from and they are always very helpful!

I think that the last reviewer was at the wrong store. I recently moved from St. Paul to Chicago and I miss Up Six- I was what you could call a regular- I started shopping there when it first opened (around 2002) and stalked the merchandise regularly up until I moved last fall. You cannot believe how good Twin Cities folk have it vintage in Chicago is so expensive! I digress, I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I felt obligated to write this review because that last one hurt my feelings because I love this shop. The store is much bigger than that person was letting on honestly "3 racks of clothing?" no, there is easily over 2,000 pieces of vintage (mostly 1950's- 1980's) clothing mens and womens- and the shoes...oh the shoes.. at least 200 pair and all different sizes (like my ladies sz 10) not the usual vintage sz 6. There are 3 jewelry cases chock full of amazing jewelry and a killer selection of sunglasses. The furniture half of the store always has a couple of sofas, dining sets, credenzas, desks etc. (not "one sofa and one coffee table") I don't want to mislead people here- this isn't a huge "antique mall" with a collection of dealers this is an independently owned shop with probably no more than 2000sq feet but compared to the shoe box shops in my new neighborhood its big. I can't wait to come to St. Paul (the prettiest town in the midwest) to visit my friends, my family, and my favorite vintage haunts. But don't take my word for it check it out for yourself- if you like vintage you'll surely find something you'll like about this store.

I went to this place after considering the recommendation of the previous reviewer. I don't see how that person described this tiny shop a "large store." You walk in the front door, sales clerk on phone at cashier counter, move 8 paces forward past 1960's sofa, chair and end table and you've hit the back wall, return to the cashier counter go into other room, walk around 3 racks of clothes, shoes lined up on floor, all rummage sale items from 1980's or 1990's, proceed to front door. Not at all what I was looking for. Primarily garage sale clothing that should have price tags of a few dollars on them, ladies shirts at $26.00??? thats more than they cost when brand new!

Up Six is a large store that half is dedicated to mid century modern furniture and house hold items- including art, pottery, vinyl, art glass etc. The other half is mens and womens clothing and accessories from the 1930-1980's- I love their shoe selection, and always find fun and funky clothing. I like that they have a good selection of everyday wear as well as more formal clothing. (I also bought an amazing 60's sofa there - it's my favorite piece of furniture!)
Their prices are really reasonable and their selection is always changing. The store is in a neighborhood that is perfect for vintage shopping- I like that I don't have to drive all over town to go shopping- there are other vintage stores near by- it is one of the reasons I love shopping for vintage in St. Paul!
