5 Stars: Home away from home! (by Mari d.)

The "Purl Girls" have it all in this store.
Friendly 'staff' (owners, family and assorted friends) Lots of pretty yarns and comfy seats.
There's always a group of people knitting and they are friendly to those who crochet.
They are the only store to carry Blue Moon Fibers in California.

4 Stars: Great people -- great yarn shop! (by Jackie D.)

I made my first visit to Purlescence a couple of weeks ago to meet a friend for social knitting. What a fun, friendly shop. The owners were there, knitting along with us [on their own projects], and I ended up leaving with not only another project (the most fun fingerless gloves yet, knitted up in soft, yummy CashVero Yarn!), but also a worklight, and a cool chartkeeper that I have found indispensible. A great selection of yarns -- especially Blue Moon Fiber Arts and other hand dyed. Plus they have roving for spinning your own yarns, and spinning wheels and classes, too. I will definitely be back. What a fun, friendly, comfy place!

5 Stars: A wonderful fiber arts shop filled with lovely yarns, fibers, and supplies (by Diane T.)

When you first enter this warm and inviting shop, you notice the abundance of colors and textures around the shop. In the middle is a collection of soft chairs, and my personal favorite, a purple chaise lounge available for visitors to the shop to stay and knit, crochet, spin, or just visit for a while. Weekly there are organized get-togethers (Sunday afternoons are called "Tea & Sympathy"), along with a monthly Friday movie night.

The owners are all wonderfully talented and have each created some amazing patterns that are also offered for sale. This is only shop in the area that sell the popular "Blue Moon Fibers Socks That Rock" yarn. If you are looking for lace yarns, or experienced lace knitters, you have found the place.

Every time I have visited I have left with something amazing. Classes are also taught in a variety of areas.

In summary - terrific staff; open many evenings and both weekend days; easy parking; wonderful range of yarns, needles, patterns, and fibers.
