This place is very fun. The food is delicious and so artfully arranged on the plate, it looks too pretty to eat. Definitely try the peanut sauce dishes.

Awesome food, even better service!!!

by Kelly C.

I went to Sawadika for the first time this Wednesday for lunch. I was impressed from the second I walked in the door. The restaurant is located in a strip center near Luby's and Great Outdoors... Definitely a "hole in the wall" but those are usually the best ones... ;)

The decor was nice... somewhat modern with a lot of dark wood and the perfect accents that give a good color pop and infuse tidbit of the culture... I would be very pleased if a guy knew I liked Thai food and introduced me to this jewel!

I had the Thai Basil Chicken lunch special and it came with a bowl of their Tom Yum Gai (I think that was what it was) and it was a perfect start to the meal... Had just the right amount of spice... The entree (lunch portion) came out and it was enough to feed me for at least two more meals... Got it medium spicy and it was perfect... I think that they may have ordered it mild for me though since the bartender noticed I drank about 2 glasses of water with the soup... ;)

Soo the food was great, the atmosphere was cozy and modern, but the service is what really impressed me... My glass of water never got empty which was nice, but that's not what really put this place over the top... Right when I was about to check out the girl next to me asked about the music that was playing and if it was a CD because she really liked the mix... The lady behind the bar replied that she burnt it herself and thank you.... THEN she offered to make her a copy and would keep it behind bar for next time she came in... It's awesome to run into that great of customer service and sadly its hard to come by anymore... Genuine people that go above and beyond for the customer.... Will definitely be back.... SOOON!

Thai food at its best!

by Phil M.

Id have to say that SaWaDiKa Thai Zone is one of the best if not the best thai food restaurants in the DFW area. Every time i eat there im always welcomed with a hello "sawadika" from all the staff and everyone is very friendly. The food is always delicious and always consistent, from the Larb gai to the Pad Kee mow. The restaurant itself is always very clean and inviting with a very stylish decor. Go by and try it, you will be very happy you did!

Great Thai food and great deal

by Mlove

I went to Sawadika thai Zone last night and had a great experience! I ordered the Trio special. There was soup, dinner entree, and dessert. i also got a free eggroll which was the Halloween special. The green tea martini tasted wonderful. I spent less than $20 dollars for all of this. The servers were nice and friendly. At the end, I also received a halloween treat bag. This place is the best. I will be back soon with my family and friends.

Pros: Great food, great drink, great service and great deal.

Great place for Thai Food...

by CaWood

We go to SaWaDiKa Thai Zone at least twice or three times a week. This is the only place for our Asian food craving. The service is very good. The servers are friendly and attentive. For appetizers, we always get the Thai Fried Egg Roll or the Fried Dumpling. For the entrees, we recommend the Choo Chee Salmon and Duck & Pineapple Curry.
The Mango sticky rice is the best for our dessert. We always come back for more.

Pros: Best Thai Food in Dallas...

The Best Thai Food!

by jsmith7667

We've tried many Thai places in DFW that we can find.
SaWaDiKa Thai Zone is the best one. The decor is very beautiful and different to others. Their waitstaff is very attentive & friendly. It's a good place for a date, lunch spot and business dining. They are serving lunch specials from 11:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Sometimes I go there around 2:00pm and enjoy my lunch break till 3:00pm. It's a very nice place and the price is reasonable. Especially, their Thai food is the BEST.

Pros: Best Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mow

The Best Tom Kha I have Ever Tasted!

by Adie

Tom Kha is a simple soup however there are many different ways to prepare it...
I am not sure of how they do it but the flavor combinations tasted with each spoonful are absolutely amazing the blend of spices with its' ingredients make for the most flavorful combination that I have ever experienced! I have my definite favorite dishes but everything that I have sampled from the plates of friends and family has been top notch quality!
They will accommodate to any palate but be adventurous! SaWaDiKa is the perfect spot for business lunches/dinners, a small party of two or a large party of 15+ with a wonderfully mood calming atmosphere!

Pros: The Best Tom Kha & Pad Thai Around!

Cons: I have yet to find one, they are completely accomodating!

Good place for Lunch

by dinrajas

After getting tired of eating out at sandwich places for lunch, I was looking for some other alternative. Thats when I stumbled across SaWaDiKa as I was browsing for thai restaurants online. After seeing the really positive reviews, I chose to check out this place for lunch. As I entered the place I was greeted by a waitress right away even though the place was completely packed. I sat at the bar and after going through the lunch specials (which are a little bit pricey compared to other thai restaurants I have been to) I ordered the Thai Basil Chicken. The waitress brought me a soup of the day (a vegetable and tofu soup) which was included with the entree right away. It was pretty good. My Thai Basil Chicken came soon after ( I was actually impressed with the quick service despite being very crowded). I have to say it was the best version of this dish I have had. The chicken was cooked just right and the veggies were very fresh. I have been there a few times after that and I also tried the Pad Kee Mow which was also very good. Highly recommend this place!

Pros: Service, food

Cons: Lunch prices are a little pricey

Fantastic Thai Basil Fried rice! Yumm!

by wendyyork1

This amazing Thai restaurant in Richardson hasTHE BEST Thai food in all of the dallas area! I usually get the Pad Kee Mow which is flat noodles with the basil and veggies, but today for thai food lunch, I ordered the f basil fired rice . It was fantastic! I can imagine this as a side dish as well for take out thai food. I am using my leftovers today ( the order is so large there is no way I can eat it all) for my dinner tonight. I think I'll make fish as a nice compliment to this thai restaurants fantastic basil rice dish. I highly recommened this restaurant.

Pros: Fantastic service and yummy food

Cons: none

Chic n cool experience with great food

by jswong24

upon entering, the restaurant seems too dark but once your eyes adjust you can appreciate the nice environment it creates along with the stone walls, inviting booths, and industrial decor.
The menu is varied but not overwhelming with most dishes $10-$13. I had the Thai Basil which was delicious, the sauce pleasantly sweet with the Basil leaves giving a nice kick. Service is friendly, and even down to the details (attractive coasters and 2 kinds of mints) this place gets it right! Come early for lunch, this place gets crowded in a hurry.

Pros: Nice environment and service, great food,

Cons: Little pricey for lunch

Delicious Thai

by meg18

I love Thai food, and the other day, my dad and I went to SaWaDiKa Thai Zone, which has come highly recomended. The storefront restaurant was very cozy and authentic thai aromas filled the air. I ordered my traditional Pad Se Iew with extra veggies and light oil. The soy sauce drenched flat rice noodles were soft and chewy, just they way I love them. The veggies included mushrooms, carrots, baby bok choy, baby corn, broccoli, and napa cabbage. They were all the perfect texture?not too soft and not too crispy. All the dishes looked fresh and delicious. I will definitely return to this Thai restaurant again.

Pros: Delicious Food, Good Service

Cons: none

Great local Thai food

by philswife

Mu husband and I both love thai food and typically ate at Jasmine in Plano. Since finding this place, located in a strip mall near Luby's in Richardson, we have becoem loyal folllowers. Pad kee mao with chicken is my favorite, it is a flat spicy noodle dish with chicken. I also recommend Yum Neiu which is a spicy beef salad. My sister and Dad love the pinnapple chicken and my husband usually gets the Larb Gai, also a spicier chicken dish. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and great drinks with frequent specials tto look for.

If you love thai food and you love a great atmosphere then Sawadika is the place you should be eating at. The food is outstanding, from the Pad kee mow to the Yum Nuah you cant go wrong. The staff is always friendly and attentive and willing to suggest something new to the person who wants to try something different. My personal favorite is the Larb Gai which is a chicken salad spiced with diffrent herbs, onions and spices which are cooked to perfection. Try this place asap, you'll be happy you did.

A find

by wolfevideo

This is such a find! Located in a strip location it is very unassuming. I tend to frequent Thai restaurants and generally eat the same dish . I can tell you their flat spicy noodle dish with chicken was OUTSTANDING! The spices seem to come from the meat and complimented with just the right ?heat? for a spicy noodle. Sometimes I find places like the banana leaf overcompensate for the spice part. I love extra basil in mine too and they were very accommodating. This Thai restaurant has clean lines and a nice quiet bar where you can watch the game ( for my b-friend) while still having a nice dinner. So many places make you eat sports food if you want to catch the game too. I love this place! Great food, service, VERY clean, and a good place for takeout or a special occasion.

Pros: The perfect 'heat' to a spicy dish

Cons: a little hard to find, it's in the same strip as lubys in richardson

Traditional #1 Thai food in DFW

by dallasfoodview

When we first walked in the door, we were greeted by all of the employees with the traditional Thai "hello"(sawadika). AS we were welcomed to the restaurant, I noticed the very clean and comforting atmosphere. We started our meal with one of their many appetizers, the Sawadika Sampler Platter. There was a large variety for us to treat our taste buds. For our entree, we had Tiger Cry, which is steak served with sticky rice and Thai style chili sauce. We also ordered the Seafood Treasure, which is marinated seafood served with yellow curry and garlic sauce. Both of the entrees are served in Traditional Thai style. For our desert, of course we had the mango sticky rice, and it was delicious. My rating for Sawadika is an A+ and I highly recommend it to everyone. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or somewhere to take the kids, Sawadika will be an enjoyable and satisfying experience.

Pros: very nice and smooth place for family and couple

Cons: cant think of any because its almost perfect

Best Thai Food.

by jsl043000

I've found the best place to eat Thai food around the Dallas area. When you first walk in you are greeted by the waitresses/servers. The interior is done very well especially the bar. I was seated and they proceeded to take my drink order. The resturaunt has a huge selection, it took me a while to read everything on the menu. When I placed my order for the pad kee mow, I was suprised that the server asked how spicy I would want it. Normally every other Thai place would give me "that" look at me if I didn't get it spicy. I asked for mild and the waitress took my order and I didn't get "the look." The entree came and it was delicious, it tasted like it was straight from Thailand. When I finished, the waitress asked if I had any more room for dessert. I declined and asked for my check. I would recommend this resturaunt to everyone and will definitely come back again and again.

Pros: Ambience, Food, Service

Cons: Parking (When busy)

A different THAI ZONE

by albert5345

This is a totally "different Thai restaurant". Very nice decor inside. Very good food. Amazing "Lamb Chop Curry", "Volcano Chicken", "Grilled Sea Bass" and "Tiger Cry". Ohh, Yummy. Their Lunch special starts from $6.95. Regular dishes from $8-$10. Seafood costs from $10-17.95. They only use big shrimp. Very reasonable and affordable. I go there with my girl friend for half price Martini on Monday & Tuesday night drink special. We love this place so much. They open Mon-Sat 11:00am-10:00pm. Sunday closed. Highly recommended.
