Today, I went to SaWaDiKa Thai Zone Restaurant for dinner. The food is just OK and the service is horrible. Before going there, think twice. I won't be there again.

This is the ONLY Thai restaurant in Dallas offers many different kinds of curry. Besides red, green, yellow curry, they also offer Panang, Choo Chee, Mussaman, Jungle, Duck & Pineapple curry and my favorite Lamb chop curry. Great food, great service and reasonable price. My friend invited me to Sawadika Thai Zone last Saturday. I tried their Trio special ($12.99) for three courses. My picks were Tom Kha soup, peanut noodle and black rice pudding. The taste is just right. This unique Thai resturant is very different to all others I've been to. Very nice decor and friendly service. I will be back again soon.

This is a good restaurant with nice atmosphere and very reasonable prices. I like the Pad Kee Mow with chicken but the Thai Basil with vegetibles and steam jasmine rice are also good. They have half price martini on Mondays and Tuesdays. The mango martini is the best I've ever had.
The servers were very friendly and attentive.
This is my favorite restaurant.

Sorry, wife and I don't agree with the other reviews here.
* Tom Yum Chicken soup was only mediocre, the chicken in the soup and in our entrees was old and tough rather than fresh and tender. Disappointing indeed.
* Our entrees were OK, but only OK, nothing special and not enough vegetable varieties. Didn't even taste Thai.
* Background music was absolutely out of context for an Asian restaurant. American contemporary music?

The ice cream with sticky rice for dessert is fantastic. You definitely want to try this Thai place.

Their food is very consistent and the service is very good. This is a very special Thai Zone.

We ordered a catering order last weekend for 50 people from Sawadika Thai Zone. The food was so delicious. We first pick our favorite items such as Thai salad, corn patties and egg roll. Then we pick yellow curry chicken, pad thai chicken and chicken with lettuce wraps. Everyone loves their food. They offer good deals on catering orders. I will highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a wonderful Thai restaurant that servces good food in a very nice atmosphere. The Red Curry with chicken is to die for, but Basil Fried Rice and Pad Kee Mow are even better. There are lots of items to choose from the menu. Thai Iced tea is good and so is the Jasmine tea. I love their Vegetible Delight with Seafood. The best I have ever had!

I go to this Thai Zone place very often for lunch during weekdays since my office is about 5 minutes away. My favorite lunch dish is Pad Kee Mow chicken and Yellow curry fried rice. 3 stars spicy (medium spicy) is what I can handle. The daily lunch special comes with a cup of vegetible soup. And for $1.00 more you can add an eggroll to your dish.
I've tried many thai places in DFW but this is the best of the best. Bring someone special to this place and you will like it. Enjoy great food with affordable price in this nice restaurant is a smart choice.

We go to SaWaDiKa Thai Zone at least twice or three times a week. This is the only place for our Asian food craving. The service is very good. The servers are friendly and attentive. For appetizers, we always get the Thai Fried Egg Roll or the Fried Dumpling. For the entrees, we recommend the Choo Chee Salmon and Duck & Pineapple Curry.
The Mango sticky rice is the best for our dessert. We always come back for more.

We've tried many Thai places in DFW that we can find.
SaWaDiKa Thai Zone is the best one. The decor is very beautiful and different to others. Their waitstaff is very attentive & friendly. It's a good place for a date, lunch spot and business dining. They are serving lunch specials from 11:00am to 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Sometimes I go there around 2:00pm and enjoy my lunch break till 3:00pm. It's a very nice place and the price is reasonable. Especially, their Thai food is the BEST.

Tom Kha is a simple soup however there are many different ways to prepare it...
I am not sure of how they do it but the flavor combinations tasted with each spoonful are absolutely amazing the blend of spices with its' ingredients make for the most flavorful combination that I have ever experienced! I have my definite favorite dishes but everything that I have sampled from the plates of friends and family has been top notch quality!
They will accommodate to any palate but be adventurous! SaWaDiKa is the perfect spot for business lunches/dinners, a small party of two or a large party of 15+ with a wonderfully mood calming atmosphere!

After getting tired of eating out at sandwich places for lunch, I was looking for some other alternative. Thats when I stumbled across SaWaDiKa as I was browsing for thai restaurants online. After seeing the really positive reviews, I chose to check out this place for lunch. As I entered the place I was greeted by a waitress right away even though the place was completely packed. I sat at the bar and after going through the lunch specials (which are a little bit pricey compared to other thai restaurants I have been to) I ordered the Thai Basil Chicken. The waitress brought me a soup of the day (a vegetable and tofu soup) which was included with the entree right away. It was pretty good. My Thai Basil Chicken came soon after ( I was actually impressed with the quick service despite being very crowded). I have to say it was the best version of this dish I have had. The chicken was cooked just right and the veggies were very fresh. I have been there a few times after that and I also tried the Pad Kee Mow which was also very good. Highly recommend this place!

This amazing Thai restaurant in Richardson hasTHE BEST Thai food in all of the dallas area! I usually get the Pad Kee Mow which is flat noodles with the basil and veggies, but today for thai food lunch, I ordered the f basil fired rice . It was fantastic! I can imagine this as a side dish as well for take out thai food. I am using my leftovers today ( the order is so large there is no way I can eat it all) for my dinner tonight. I think I'll make fish as a nice compliment to this thai restaurants fantastic basil rice dish. I highly recommened this restaurant.

upon entering, the restaurant seems too dark but once your eyes adjust you can appreciate the nice environment it creates along with the stone walls, inviting booths, and industrial decor.
The menu is varied but not overwhelming with most dishes $10-$13. I had the Thai Basil which was delicious, the sauce pleasantly sweet with the Basil leaves giving a nice kick. Service is friendly, and even down to the details (attractive coasters and 2 kinds of mints) this place gets it right! Come early for lunch, this place gets crowded in a hurry.

I went to Sawadika for the first time this Wednesday for lunch. I was impressed from the second I walked in the door. The restaurant is located in a strip center near Luby's and Great Outdoors... Definitely a "hole in the wall" but those are usually the best ones... ;)

The decor was nice... somewhat modern with a lot of dark wood and the perfect accents that give a good color pop and infuse tidbit of the culture... I would be very pleased if a guy knew I liked Thai food and introduced me to this jewel!

I had the Thai Basil Chicken lunch special and it came with a bowl of their Tom Yum Gai (I think that was what it was) and it was a perfect start to the meal... Had just the right amount of spice... The entree (lunch portion) came out and it was enough to feed me for at least two more meals... Got it medium spicy and it was perfect... I think that they may have ordered it mild for me though since the bartender noticed I drank about 2 glasses of water with the soup... ;)

Soo the food was great, the atmosphere was cozy and modern, but the service is what really impressed me... My glass of water never got empty which was nice, but that's not what really put this place over the top... Right when I was about to check out the girl next to me asked about the music that was playing and if it was a CD because she really liked the mix... The lady behind the bar replied that she burnt it herself and thank you.... THEN she offered to make her a copy and would keep it behind bar for next time she came in... It's awesome to run into that great of customer service and sadly its hard to come by anymore... Genuine people that go above and beyond for the customer.... Will definitely be back.... SOOON!

I love Thai food, and the other day, my dad and I went to SaWaDiKa Thai Zone, which has come highly recomended. The storefront restaurant was very cozy and authentic thai aromas filled the air. I ordered my traditional Pad Se Iew with extra veggies and light oil. The soy sauce drenched flat rice noodles were soft and chewy, just they way I love them. The veggies included mushrooms, carrots, baby bok choy, baby corn, broccoli, and napa cabbage. They were all the perfect texture?not too soft and not too crispy. All the dishes looked fresh and delicious. I will definitely return to this Thai restaurant again.

I loved this place! I eat a lot of Thai, and this food is excellent. The staff was so nice and attentive. The waiter and bartender took very good care of us. It is reasonably priced and not too crowded. It has a good ambiance and is very clean. I would go out of my way to eat here again.

Nothing comes close to the perfection of the Thai food. We are dedicated customers for sure. The atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable. Yall should try it for some good home cooking Thai food.

Mu husband and I both love thai food and typically ate at Jasmine in Plano. Since finding this place, located in a strip mall near Luby's in Richardson, we have becoem loyal folllowers. Pad kee mao with chicken is my favorite, it is a flat spicy noodle dish with chicken. I also recommend Yum Neiu which is a spicy beef salad. My sister and Dad love the pinnapple chicken and my husband usually gets the Larb Gai, also a spicier chicken dish. This restaurant has a great atmosphere and great drinks with frequent specials tto look for.

If you love thai food and you love a great atmosphere then Sawadika is the place you should be eating at. The food is outstanding, from the Pad kee mow to the Yum Nuah you cant go wrong. The staff is always friendly and attentive and willing to suggest something new to the person who wants to try something different. My personal favorite is the Larb Gai which is a chicken salad spiced with diffrent herbs, onions and spices which are cooked to perfection. Try this place asap, you'll be happy you did.

Id have to say that SaWaDiKa Thai Zone is one of the best if not the best thai food restaurants in the DFW area. Every time i eat there im always welcomed with a hello "sawadika" from all the staff and everyone is very friendly. The food is always delicious and always consistent, from the Larb gai to the Pad Kee mow. The restaurant itself is always very clean and inviting with a very stylish decor. Go by and try it, you will be very happy you did!

This is such a find! Located in a strip location it is very unassuming. I tend to frequent Thai restaurants and generally eat the same dish . I can tell you their flat spicy noodle dish with chicken was OUTSTANDING! The spices seem to come from the meat and complimented with just the right ?heat? for a spicy noodle. Sometimes I find places like the banana leaf overcompensate for the spice part. I love extra basil in mine too and they were very accommodating. This Thai restaurant has clean lines and a nice quiet bar where you can watch the game ( for my b-friend) while still having a nice dinner. So many places make you eat sports food if you want to catch the game too. I love this place! Great food, service, VERY clean, and a good place for takeout or a special occasion.

Pros: The perfect 'heat' to a spicy dish

Cons: a little hard to find, it's in the same strip as lubys in richardson

When we first walked in the door, we were greeted by all of the employees with the traditional Thai "hello"(sawadika). AS we were welcomed to the restaurant, I noticed the very clean and comforting atmosphere. We started our meal with one of their many appetizers, the Sawadika Sampler Platter. There was a large variety for us to treat our taste buds. For our entree, we had Tiger Cry, which is steak served with sticky rice and Thai style chili sauce. We also ordered the Seafood Treasure, which is marinated seafood served with yellow curry and garlic sauce. Both of the entrees are served in Traditional Thai style. For our desert, of course we had the mango sticky rice, and it was delicious. My rating for Sawadika is an A+ and I highly recommend it to everyone. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or somewhere to take the kids, Sawadika will be an enjoyable and satisfying experience.

I've found the best place to eat Thai food around the Dallas area. When you first walk in you are greeted by the waitresses/servers. The interior is done very well especially the bar. I was seated and they proceeded to take my drink order. The resturaunt has a huge selection, it took me a while to read everything on the menu. When I placed my order for the pad kee mow, I was suprised that the server asked how spicy I would want it. Normally every other Thai place would give me "that" look at me if I didn't get it spicy. I asked for mild and the waitress took my order and I didn't get "the look." The entree came and it was delicious, it tasted like it was straight from Thailand. When I finished, the waitress asked if I had any more room for dessert. I declined and asked for my check. I would recommend this resturaunt to everyone and will definitely come back again and again.
