We consider ourselves extraordinarily lucky to have found one World Montessori. Our daughter has flourished in a warm, caring and nurturing environment. She is reading way above grade level and is extremely well prepared for kindergarten

The only problem occurred because the school kindly offered to provide a scholarship to a child, M, from a disadvantaged home. My daughter, like others, was target of repeated bullying by M. (see details below) The school made every effort to help M and keep her mother informed of M's behavior problems. The school kept careful dated records of its communications with M's mother and like other parents whose children had problems with M. I have seen these records. Here are a few:

July 2008: School enrollment form filled out by M's mother states that in order to communicate her needs M "Screams (a lot)"
Sept 10 2008: M bit the hand of a boy seated next to her. M's mother signed the document acknowledging the incident.,
Sept 17 2008: M threw rocks in a teacher's face. Conference requested with M's mother, who signed the incident document
October: Along with other parents we express our concern about M's behavior. School convinces us it is working on it, and urges patience. We agree, given M's difficult home situation.
Nov. 19 Letter from school responding to M's mother's allegations regarding lice. M's mother demanded that another child be expelled for allegedly having lice. Response notes increase in M's behavior problems, and the negative effect this has had on the classroom atmosphere.Requests that M look for another school.
Dec 15 2008: Summary of meeting with M's mother to discuss M's problems. M's teacher was very upset by mother's nonresponsiveness, The co-directors tried to mediate, agree to readmit M on probation.
January 2009: M was never formally expelled but does not return. Student who is alleged source of lice remains. No recurrence of lice.

Subsequently M's mother engaged in a campaign of harassment against One World. I have personally seen the following documents
May 4 2009: M's mother sends email to all One World parents. Among other things questions "morals and ethics" of the directors.
December 2009: M's mother files complaint with Better Business Bureau about one World Montessori. BBB finds these without merit. M's mother has also sent me harassing emails because of online review and repeatedly attempted to get my reviews pulled.

I think most of the positive reviews about this school are completely fake. It's probably the owner's daughter, who is also the school admin, who is going around writing reviews herself. This school is AWFUL! Several staff members have left because the woman who runs the place is a complete nutcase. She is rude to the children and her curriculum is a joke. She treated my child like garbage and claimed that my child was having all sorts of behavioral problems. But, my child has now been going to a new preschool for 8 months and I have not received ONE single complaint. In fact, my child is very loved, is one of the teacher's favorite students and is now blossoming and learning. None of which my child did in the negative environment created at One World. The school is disorganized and communication with parents is almost non-existent. If you value your child(ren), stay away from this place!!

Our child has been attending this school since July and he loves it. He actually likes to talk about what he does at school and the teachers are very caring and nurturing. I highly recommend this school and am so impressed with the guests they have, as well.

One World Montessori is an exceptional school for parents who want their children in an environment that is positive, nurturing, educational, cultural, practical, and safe. Miss Debi and Miss Julia have an amazing sense of a true Montessori environment and my son has benefited immensely. They also have so many creative and wonderful ideas which they incorporate into the montessori experience for the child and the parent, that truly makes their school very unique.

We know Ms. Debi, one of the teachers, from a previous school where she taught my son. (He is doing great in elementary 2nd grade!)

We now have our 4 yr old daughter enrolled at One World and couldn't be happier.

Daily reports and one on one time with the teachers helps us help our daughter. There is a great play area, nature trails, butterfly garden and the labyrinth for outdoor activities.

I have, and would recommend this school to anyone looking for the Montessori experience in Northwest Austin or Cedar Park.

Debi Franz is an amazing Montessori teacher. She taught our son at age 3 and 4 which enabled him to start Elementary school two days after he turned 5. He continues to excel in school and is in the district gifted program. We attribute a lot of his early skills to the teaching methods of Debi Franz. Her new school will be a huge success when word of mouth gets around. There is nothing like it in the area and it is one of the more affordable Montessori schools. Debi is also a very caring and calm person. Children adore her.
