This restaurant is in the amateur status. They do not know how to run a fine dinning restaurant. They run a special reduced fare menu, over book and as Seinfeld says, they know how to take the reservation, but they do NOT know how to hold the reservation. We waited for over an hour with a reservation. We were given little reason why the delay and had to finally leave without eating because they could not tell use how long the wait would be after an hour.

My husband loves steak and rarely complains about it but even he did not like it. We both got different cuts cooked differently and they screwed up the order. I got my steak cooked his way and he got his steak with my specifications. They took them back - mine was cut in half at the table to check the doneness - they brought me back the same steak that they had thrown under the grill again (still cut in half). It was charred one the outside with too much pepper - an I like char and pepper but this was over the top! My baked potato was underdone. We won't be going back here!

Went to the new location and the place was gorgeous in terms of decor (warm colors, exposed bricks, etc). We decided to wait at the bar for the rest of our party and asked the bartender for a French martini. She had a puzzled look on her face and asked me what was in it. Thought twice and went with a glass of pinot grigio instead (decent selection of reds and whties!) When we were seated, service was painstakingly slow despite tables being empty all around us. My med-rare steak came out rare enough to be straight from the butcher shop. I thought reopening at a new location was a sign of change (and better service + quality!) but everything was mediocre at best. I suggest Scotch 'n Sirloin or Delmonico's for a much better dining experience!

Don??t waste your money..we were there during graduation weekend last year.. When I called to make the reservation I was told that we could order off the menu as I had made a point of asking.. As soon as we were seated Our waitress came over and said ??this is the deal.. this is what the kitchen is making tonight, this is what you can order and this is the pre fix price.. Menu items are not available.. she was quite obnoxious. Although we were quite upset, we figured fine, it is graduation weekend, but they should have been honest with us when we called and asked. 3 people ordered the prime rib, I had tuna which happened to be good but the prime rib was a hunk of FAT with a little bit of meat. It was so awful, we had never seen anything like it. We complained and said it was the worst piece of meat but the restaurant didn??t seem to care. . I had made my reservation a month or 2 in advance. A week before we arrived I added another person to our reservation and called twice the week of to make sure the restaurant had the right number of people. They assured me it would be changed. When we arrived they had no idea and had the wrong number of place settings. We should have turned around and left then. Another weird thing that night was everytime a waiter or waitress would walk by our table they would drop something. It was a very bizarre evening and totally ruined our graduation experience. I can??t recommend?

I am in Syracuse often on monthly business. The Prime is by far the best Steak experience in town, bar none! Danny, the owner is a very nice guy and the wait staff and bartenders, especially Lacey are terrific! Hopefully Prime will be with us for a very long time.

Very nice place to have a good time
The entrees are well cooked and the desserts very good also.
Not much of wine selection, though..
Highly recommended!

Best steakhouse in this city. Only place to get prime level steak cooked in a very hard broiler. The chef and staff should be commended on the consistency and quality of their steak. Sadly, the restaurant is rarely busy, the location is a distraction. The manager, Mr. Klemm is always present, but is usually glued to his usual entourage of buddies, better to greet and shmooze with the customers. Still, this restauant is a cut above any other steakhouse in this city. It would be a shame to lose it.

Prime is an amazingly fine dining restaurant. Not only does it have my other favorite, Gentiles, beat in quality of meat - but the service is amazing too!
Ahi Tuna Tartar for an appetizer, Wedge salads, its just an outstanding find! Anyone who loves Gentiles or the Scotch should certainly try this diamond in the rough!
