Too expensive, and not all that its cracked up to be!!
Where do I begin?...I'm originally from New York, and anyone from NY who moves to Los Angeles knows how hard it is to find a Dominican hairstylist. It took me 7 years to find one, and when I did, boy was I ecstatic. I actually followed the co-owner of Domini Salon, Clara, from her old location to this new place. First of all, parking sucks, 2nd, they over charge for services that are normally included with a wash and set. They charge more than some of the Beverly Hills celebrity stylists, and the level of hair care is not all that. Oh and FYI...they only give cappuchino, massages, etc to certain people and new clients. Unfortunately, you have to play the hand you're dealt. :-( Just know...you've been warned!

Leaves Something to Be Desired
I just recently got my hair down there....and frankly, Im not impressed. (I have gotten my hair done by Dominican hairstylists in New York, Maryland, and DC.) As far as the customer service, the receptionist was very nice and the atmosphere is relaxing for the most part.
As far as the product (the actual hairstyling), my hair came out straight, but was really dry. I have had to put on moisturizing lotion for the past two days so it can look healthy.
Additionally, the prices are wayyyyyy too high for the quality hair styling they produce.
I will go back one more time and give them one last shot, but I will be looking for other Dominican hair salons in the L.A. area.

Great Hair Care!!!
Being new to the LA area, and having nightmare experiences at other salons, I was sceptical about letting anyone touch my hair. I was pleasantly surprised by the hair care and wonderful ambiance that Domini has to offer! Clara is amazing. She is educated and careful with me and all my hair care needs. She instantly made me feel at ease. My relaxer was perfect and long lasting. The soothing environment made me feel like a princess. When you enter Domini Salon you instantly know that your hair will be treated right!

Grateful mother from New Jersey!
I was searching for a beauty salon for my 11 year old daughter for three months . We recently moved from NJ and the salons in the Glendale area do not know how to do ethnic hair. I was truly at a loss and resigned to doing her hair myself. We had been going to Dominican salons for years and her hair has grown lovely .Clara was "sooo" kind , gentle and patient with my daughter as she washed and set her hair. She even gave her a deep conditioning treatment. We will be going on a regular basis now. The price is great and the atmospher was very peaceful and calming.
Pros: Competant and caring staff, great Aveda products, professional atmosphere, close street parking, early evening appointments, last minute appointments
Cons: More hair supplys such as hair caps and decorations for hair

Best salon for healthy hair!
At last someone can make fine curly hair look human.
Clara has transformed my head covering to healthy, manageable and beautiful hair.
I was the victim of many attempts to style my hair; state to state, technique to technique.
Clara graciously encouraged me change hair care products and allow my hair to grow.
I was reluctant; however she was right. I am proud ower of beautiful and healthy hair.
The new salon is beautiful and the concern for the clients is demonstrated with the open kitchen.
Clara and Kynia continue to plan for more services for their clients in the near future.
Friends and family come from all over the country to restore their hair to maximum health and beauty at my highest recommendation.
Saludos.

Burned & Still Scarred!
For the first time in my life (I've been patronizing Dominican salons from DR to NYC to Amsterdam for 15 years) my ear was BURNED while getting a blowout! I didn't feel the effect immediately until I drove to work with my ear feeling really hot and once I arrived, my coworkers advised me that I had a huge blister that ended up oozing/bursting at the end of the day! I definitely had at least a 2nd degree burn along the top of my ear that led to scabs for a month and a possibly permanent scar. When I told the stylist Clara about it she was very apologetic but her business partner Keenya was totally rude and treated me as if I was going to take them to court! The thought of suing them wasnt even on my mind before she acted like that. I have photos of the scarring and good reason to do so and after Keenya treated me in such an accusatory manner, I felt really tempted to! I was not offered any credit, refund or even handled in a respectful fashion. Yes, your hair will look good but is it worth the risk of being burned? Their prices are exorbitant no, frankly ridiculous - $10 for the deep conditioner when the whole jar (4 treatments worth) costs $5-7! $45-65 for a blowout that normally costs $10-25 on the East Coast? A monthly membership for unlimited hairstyling that's $200-250?! How Hollywood?! Come on now... The reality is that there isnt a large selection of Dominican stylists here but why should customers get ripped off by a salon too cheap to buy ear covers that will protect us? And then on top of that, get a horrendously rude response to a bad situation that their incompetence created? Nice atmosphere but not worth the cost or potential pain, scarring or drama. I'd rather go to the nice Dominican salons in Sun Valley any day! It sounds far but they're only 15-20 minutes over the hill! I wish I could fly to NYC just to get my hair done for a decent price! By the way, I went there 2 months ago & am STILL SCARRED

Best relaxers hands down!
Clara has been doing my hair for over 4 years. She is without a doubt gifted at what she does! She does the absolute best relaxers and specializes in color as well. She does not over relax or process the hair but relaxes the hair just enough to maintain a healthy relaxed head of hair and uses the unprecedented Dominican blow-out technique to get it silky straight without sacrificing body!
Now she has moved from the Sun Valley shop where she rented a station, to her own sleek salon in LA! The place is fabulous! I love the wireless Internet access but first and foremost the filtered shampoo bowls - it makes a huge difference on the hair (besides Clara's magical hands). I've seen a few actresses and Entertainers that have tracked her down there already. And they have authentic Dominican stylists to take care of it all!
The service, the products (they use great Dominican products), the stylists (especially Clara) - DOMINI SALON is the best!
Pros: Service, Parking
