Casa Sanchez has great food and watch out for the Mariachi's! Loud but great fun. The first time we went we were seated next to the stage and had no idea they were going to play! The Ribs are fantastic. Yes, Ribs at a Mexican restaurant! Try 'em.

Had so much fun with the entertainment (only Thursdays thru Sundays) that I hardly remember what I ate. The mariachi's are excellent and the food was good. Really liked the chips. Great atmosphere.

Casa Sanchez stands where the old Marina Mago's used to be (the first Japanese American restaurant- a little history for you all). The food isn't your typical Mexican fare- a bit fancier, or at least trying to be. The food isn't all that special, but they have a mariachi band that plays on Thursday and Friday nights (maybe some other nights too, I think). They are entertaining and charming and if you're a woman, they really know how to work the serenade.

why cant I give this place more stars!! So i stumbled upon this place on a friday night with 2 of my girlfriends. We were craving some margaritas and this place was the closest to my house. I have passed it hundreds of times but it always looked closed, thats until i found out its only open for dinner!
So we stolled up pretty early for happy hour and sad to say No happy hour here but your know why once you walk inside.
The decor of this plac is just beautiful. The have these beautiful paintings on the wall of Im guessing Family memebers?? We ordered a round of Margaritas...YUM!!! and not only that FREE GUACAMOLE!! Score!! and thats not even the ends of it. We were already almost ready to go when a huge Mariachi band comes onto a stage and puts on a show!
What a treat!! the show was so awesome they even had some mexican folk dancers. I have never been so impressed with such a beauitiful place!! Kudos to Casa Sanchez! Kepp it up!

I must say this place took me and my husband by surprise!! We love Mariachi and love having a margarita from time to time so when a good friend of mine told me about this place we jumped right on it and checked it out. WOW! We were taken back by the decor, IT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! They have a beautiful stage where the Mariachi sing and have dancers dance 1 song. I must say this they have 1 woman singer, SHE SINGS LIKE AN ANGEL!! She sang a song and literally gave me goose bumps and I teared up a little. The whole Mariachi group in fantastic!! I am hoping they are able to book gigs because I would love for them to sing at my cousins wedding!!
The servers are sooooooo nice!! They are very attentive to your needs. Food is delicious!! I had the mole enchiladas and i literally wanted to lick the plate it was that good!! My husband had the NY steak and he ate it right up! It was a little under cooked for my liking but he said it was delicious.
This place is seriously one of a kind! I have never seen a restaurant this beautiful and this good! I loved the atmoshpere! Its not your typical snooty people who make you feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, it is the total opposite! You are welcomed with a smile and you leave with a smile from the service, music and the food!!
Id give it 10 stars if I could!! Cant wait to go back!!!

This place is so pretty , once you step into this restaurant you are surprised on how nice and different it is from other mexican restaurants everyone is use to going. I had a surprise birthday for my mother outside in the patio and my whole family loved it. The service was fantastic they were always asking if we needed anything else to drink and the servers were always there if we had any questions. We even had the Mariachi band singing songs that my family requested and they were having the time of thier lives singing along with the mariachi. If you love margaritas try the cadillac and personally I love the Irma bellini.

Yup, place is usually pretty busy on weekends. So use open table or call in to make a res. During the week, you should be fine. This is the only restaurant in LA that I know that has not only lots of space for parking but also free valet. So when you walk into the place you are just wowed! On the ceiling is art work and a sky, which makes you feel like you are outside; kind of like those vegas hotel malls. Very nice paint color earth tones, rustic architecture and vintage art work honoring classic latin celeberties. There is a bar area and if you have a large party ,the main dining room or outside patio is perfect. The outdoor patio is very nice, large and has a waterfall. A great place to ecscape the Mariachi music if you wish.. so in the main dining room you actually get to hear a real Mariachi band and see Mexican dancers. They really put on a show and play some old classic American hits. It's a good time. The food ranks in my top 3 for mexican food. First of all who gives out free chips, salsa and guacamole these days....no one besides these guys. Even chipotle ,charges you a few bucks for this. The dishes range from Mexican classic to chef created fusion dishes. Definitely get the Sanchez Platter appetizer and get their most expensive margarita. Just one of those margaritas will get you buzzed. Service most of the time is pretty good on giving you more salsa when the bowl is empty. I have only experienced one occassion when the service was bad. I just think the waitress was having a bad day. All in all this is one of my favorite restaurants; perfect to take a date, celebrate a special occasion or just have a good nite out with friends. Don't go to chipotle and get ripped off, get the most bang for your buck and enjoy a real Mexican experience.

This is a great place to enjoy mariachi music and food, not really to sit together and talk since the music is live and loud, but great singer, by the way, and great repertoire (that was the first time I hear a mariachi band singing in English). I had the camarones a la diabla, spicy as they should be. Not crazy about the rice and beans with shredded cheddar cheese, but that is just how Mexican food is served in the US, so no big deal.

The mango margarita was very good, service was nice and prompt. I wasn't crazy about the dessert selection, which is better for me since I didn't have any, but wouldn't mind having something more attractive that wasn't in the selection, like crepas de cajeta or a traditional jamoncillo.

Anyway, this is a good spot, I'm definitely recommending this place to friends.

Cons: Maybe music too loud

My husband ordered the mole enchiladas. The menu did not state with what meat it came with so they brought him chicken when he would have preferred cheese. The waitress offered to send it back but, she should have asked first. For the price they should have used good quality chicken, it was not, they used dark meat which is not good for enchiladas. The beans came out of a can. I don't recommend this place for dinner.

We celebrated my mom's birthday at Cass Sanchez and we had a great time. The food was great and the music was really good. This is a perfect place for a large crowd. Once the music starts it's pretty difficult to communicate!

My fiance, my cousin, her husband and I wanted to experience a new mexican restaurant with mariachi, and we found it. Casa Sanchez was super good. Its located in Culver city, kind of hidden, in a nice neighborhood. When we drove up we thought it was small but when you walk in its very welcoming. The huge double wooden doors make you feel like you're entering an hacienda. As you walk in there is a stage where the mariachi is and the tables are in rows but very roomy and big. The tables were decorated with glasses and a single rose and a candle lit. Very romantic (which was what we were looking for). Our food was really really really good. I got the Pollo Tapatio- its chicken stuffed with spinach and mozarella cheese covered with rose cream sauce. It was soooooooooooo goood. My fiance had the new york steak that was very good too. his potato was not fully cook but the waitress took care of that very quickly. My cousin had the chicken enchiladas that she really liked. And her husband had the salmon and shrimp with salad. He finished that up quickly. Our drinks were good I had a perfect cadillac (well actually two), My cousin had a pinappletini, which she loved. The guys had beer. The drinks were good but a little pricy. But in the end it was worth it. The Mariachi made it all better, one of the girls sang I will always love you by whitney houston, she was fantastic, I wanted to cry. Overall one of the best experience I've had at a mex restaurant. Now we are planning on going for Mothers days and taking our mom's.

Great job to the owners!!!!!

West LA is not the best place to grab Mexican food - so please, do not expect your going to have the greatest Mexican food in the city. Once you get over that, this is a pretty good place to eat.

The ambiance is the first thing you notice. The restaurant is not in a classy neighborhood but you would not guess that from the inside. The decor is upscale Mexican Restaurant, tables are nicely set and the wait staff are friendly. Fresh chips and guacamole as you sit is great too!

Thursday and Friday seem like the busy nights, mostly because of the live music.

The menu is not complicated, traditional Mexican plates and decent fish and streak selections. I had the fish tacos - excellent. The lady had enchiladas - stuffed nicely, cheesy and not just thin pieces of tortilla and sauce. The wine list and cocktails are not a let down, but they do not impress either.

I would highly recommend this place mainly because it is good food, nice restaurant, good service and great mariachi! If you like El Cholo (which is not great Mexican food anyhow) you should love this place and do not have to wait for a table.

If you want GREAT mexican food in the area, but not so nice decor, go to Pacos Tacos just up the street and wait 20 minutes to be seated.

So this was my second visit to Casa Sanchez. The first time I went I took my boyfriend to dinner for his birthday. It was new and looked nice so we wanted to try it out. We weren't impressed. I ordered the fajitas and didn't care for them too much. He ordered a steak and didn't like it much either. The pomegranate margarita was good, though. For just the two of us I paid well over $120.00. I promised myself I wouldn't waste my time there again. BUT.....

It was my best friend's birthday and we offered to take her to dinner and She chose Casa Sanchez. I was disappointed and tried to talk her out of it, but thought "What the hell, maybe they have changed." We got there and it wasn't full to capacity. We were seated right away and our servers came to acknowledge us immediately. They brought us guacamole and chips about 3 different times because we kept finishing it all. haha! The waiter, Victor, spoke very good english and was very nice and helpful. He came to check up on us plenty of times and practically took over singing my friend the spanish Happy birthday song....LOL.

I chose to create my own combination this time and opted for the Chicken enchilada and chicken tamale. Both were very tasty. My boyfriend had the Tapatio chicken and said it was very good as well. Both of the entrees came with a small side of vegetables and they were REALLY good!

The mariachis were great as was mentioned in previous reviews, but the only downfall is that you cannot hold an intimate conversation....Then again, if you are going to a restaurant with mariachis then you probably would know that ahead of time....

All in all, the experience was great. Good food, good atmosphere, good service and good music! I'm definitely happy that I gave it a second shot! I'd definitely recommend it to friends! :)

My girlfriend and I live in the area and were excited when this place opened up. We were looking forward to having another great mexican restaurant in the area. Wow were we let down. I tried the steak fajitas. Bland, no spice, no sides. I asked for some sour cream or something to put on it because the steak was dry and there were not many peppers and the first two staff members didn't speak a word of English and the waiter acted like I insulted him by asking. My girlfriends Tacos were dry and uninspiring. My beer cam with a lime that was covered in brown spots. I'm paying $6 a beer, is it too much to ask for a fresh lime? The tortilla chips were stale and flavorless. This is a good place for senior citizens that can only eat bland food. We barley ate half and went to another place for tacos. To top it off, everything on the menu is over $15. Mexican is usually cheap and I don't mind spending if it is really good but this place is horrible. Stay away. Whoever wrote the other reviews work here.

We have now been to Casa Sanchez 3 times. Delighted all three times. You get free guacamole and chips as soon as you sit down. You can have dinners from $8.95 and up. Exotic Seafoods or Chili Rellenos. The quality is lightyears above El Cholo. Not even similar. The dining room is like a Beverly Hills Mansion with a beautiful stage. One song by the Excellent Mariachis and then one Flamingo Dance. It's like going to a royal Mexican Dinner.

The restaurant was basically empty when we arrived. We waited for the rest of our party to arrive and due to traffic, they were late. We finally ordered. Drinks came quickly. When food arrived, the fajitas were on one platter and the rice and beans on another. Rice and beans were lukewarm., but the entree was hot. The mariachis were great, but much too loud to carry on a conversation across the table. Would I go back, probably but before the mariachi's came on board. Price wise...a little pricey for the area. Valet parking...just another $$$ to put out.

I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and both times the service was really slow. The waiters take a real long time to come back and check on you. The plates are overpriced and small portions are served. We left the restaurant still hungry.
The mariachi is good and the paintings of famous Mariachi icons are beautiful. The atmosphere is nice.
The table settings is elegant.
I would only go here on special occasions like an anniversary, so once a year.
Like I said it's overpriced and I hope they have a kid's menu.

Pros: mariachi/ ambience

Cons: service bad

.

Im a big fan of new restaurants and this one took me by suprise. You defenitly dont expect to find a restaurant like this on the West Side. Very upscale, MEXICAN restaurant. You dont see that every day. They have these amazing portraits of "im guessing " Mariachi Singers? I should have asked. But the paintings are amazing. The food was good. It took a while to get to our table but who can complain when you have an amazing mariachi band playing. I had the mojito with my rib eye....which isnt mexican food but damn was it good. The Service was good too. I think my servers name was Sergio? overall this place is a treat. The patio looks amazing. Once it gets a little warmer i might swing by with my girl.

completely breath taking....the entrance to this restaurant is completely gorgeous! From the high cielings to the beautiful iron work. The hostess was very nice and even though i felt i wasnt dressed for such a nice place, she made me feel better by not acting snooty like they do at other restaurants. I had no Idea they had a mariachi band so I ws suprised when the 10 piece mariachi band came out, and wow....were they amazing! They were very classy mariachi band.....I sat there with my friends enjoying the beautiful place with the gret music.....i swear I felt like i was in cancun again.....This place is a gem....there is nothing like it.....not even in mexico.....

Located in Mar Vista, valet parking, great decor, food, service, and enterainment. Way out of the norm for the neighborhood. You will feel like you're dining in Beverly Hills. The mariachi band is very classy, I felt like I was in Cabo again.
