DO NOT go anywhere near this group. My move to CT from MA in May 2008 was a NIGHTMARE to say the least. I was quoted a price and moving day arrived and 1/4 of the items ON the truck when the foreman informed me he needed an additional $3 THOUSAND dollars more in CT. He plugged in figures on the forms AFTER I had set my initials on them. A CLEAR case of BAIT & SWITCH. Realizing I was scammed, my daughter ordered everything off the truck as my son-in-law got the cars and boxed the truck in while I called the police. I paid most [to make my life easier] in advance but $257.03 which I held to pay at the end! I am pursuing all legal angles to get my $885.00 pre-paid amount back. I was told the owner Mr. Rashad Ibrahim [whom was NEVER available to speak to] that day [w/ the police standing by] the $$ would be returned - it wasn't. I WILL fight this group to see them stopped, all of them, Yolanda, Melanie and others who are probably all the same person and in on the scam! I NEVER want another person to go through what we did. Fortunately we rented a 28-foot UHAUL, and friends pitched in. It took me months to get over the trauma - I am grateful we did not have everything on the truck. I did what I thought was a complete BBB and background check on this group LONG before hiring them. I am petrified now to hire any commercial mover. I will get another UHAUL and hire friends. I feel terrible for the honest guys out there. THIS group "SPECIAL MOVERS, INC." of N. Bergen, NJ need to be arrested and face us all in court.

They get you roped in with a quote, charge you extra to load the truck, hold your furniture hostage until you pay thousands more for its release, lie to you as to when your furniture might arrive, and then wonder how you might be upset. I wonder. If you get their name from any source, run fast. Don't even call because they are really good with promises that they never intend to keep. Once they get your money, they have no intention of assisting you further. If you have been scammed by this company, contact the Better Business Bureau of NJ, your attorney general's office, the Department of Transportation, and ASMA. This company has been scamming others out of thousands and needs to be stopped.

Pros: NOT A THING

Cons: NIGHTMARISH STRESS, CHEATS, LIES

.

The worst nightmare ever - Special Movers, Inc's scam involved a low quote over the phone (they wouldn't send someone over), a bunch of blank contracts they make you sign at the start of the packing, and the price will shoot all the way up

Pros: Absolutely Nothing!

Cons: Sleepless nights, more stress for your moving, stand to lose everything

Beware and steer clear of this cheating company. They more than tripled the quote which they assured me was a binding contract, then held my stuff in ransom for cash, demanded immediate payment of inflated prices (first doubled, then tripled) through Western Union to an unidentified individual, threatened to double the charge if the van is turned back, and kept changing the date of arrival. They made threatening phone calls to say they will turn the truck back if you don't pay up within 1 hour and incur double the charges. If you choose their "speedy" service because they promise they will deliver the goods in 2-3 days across state lines, you are basically screwed. They know they have you twirling in their fingers. Once you goods are loaded, they will increase their prices for extra boxes or claims of excess per cubic footage, or best still, "long distance carrier" which is the distance they move from the elevator to your apartment (hundreds of dollars). They will hook you on a low quote, promises and verbal agreement but NEVER believe them. Expect someone to call you while you are on your way to your new home with ultimatums like, "you have 10 minutes to decide whether you want to pay the newly inflated price" or "we will they turn the truck around and charge you double!" They have a team of scam artists on the phone (all women apparently) and men who work on the ground who pretend to look innocent. They are all in it together. If you are foolish to go with them, engage a lawyer, read all the fineprints, and be an expert in the industry before you sign any papers with them. They will make your life a living nightmare while holding your things hostage. Once you pay them everything they demanded in cash or through Western Union, they will dump your goods without giving you a fair chance to examine for breakage. They will not unpack for you even if you have an agreement. Make sure you have everything you want in writing. I showed them broken furniture and they go "I don't see what is broken." They are untruthful, deceitful, and manipulative. They even refused to give me an original receipt - i had to xerox one myself at my insistence. My life was a living nightmare for the days I worked with Special Movers Inc. Save yourself the trauma folks.

They tried to charge me 2,340 pounds more than I had and then when I stated I wanted a re weigh they cancelled my order and now will not issue a refund for service they did not provide. I had to drive over 8 hours round trip to get my things back. They are Scam Artists, do not trust. Please save your time and money and go with a reputable company.
