Rupa is the BEST colorist!! I love my hair! It came out exactly as she said it would and the cut is great. Nice salon. Friendly people. Parking in back. Highly recommend to all.

I heard about Dezen from several people and all most all of them mentioned Rupa, even the ones who do not go to her. It took me 2 weeks to get an appointment but it was well worth the wait. She is detailed, best colorist ever! I have to admit that I was worried because I wanted to stay as blonde as possible but she recommended a mix of highlights and lowlights, and that hasn't worked out well in the past. But Rupa made it look perfect! I looks blonde but healthy and fuller, just as she promised.

Salon deZen is not only hip, edgy but their services are first class. I highly recommend Cindy Wagner (reluctantly so because it will mean that it is more difficult for me to get an appointment!). It is a friendly salon and you will feel pampered!

Cindy is creative and has a wonderful eye regarding what styleand color will look best on you. In addition, as other reviews have said the stylists at this salon will fix damaged hair and your hair will shine. The best testament to Salon deZen is my daughter's remark that my hair longer looks "crispy." A wonderful addition to Old Town.

I booked nail services at Salon DeZEN because my daughter was getting married in Alexandria. My daughter, two friends and I all had manicures and pedicures, and I must say that Tomiko was fantastic. The french manicure was the prettiest I've ever had. Tomiko very sweetly offered to wax the brides eyebrows as she hadn't had time for that, and was so careful and precise that her brows were perfect, and she had no redness whatsoever (important the day before a wedding)
The atmosphere of the salon is lovely. Everyone we encountered there was pleasant, helpful and understanding.

Had a color and cut about a month ago. My haircolor is very unusual, but Rupa and Liz consulted and the end result (thanks to Rupa) is fantastic! Same goes for Rupa's cut--one of the best I've ever had! Ella provided VERY relaxing shampoo and scalp massage. Definitely recommend Salon deZen--

If you want a amazing hair cut and color you have to go see Rupa at salon deZen. After a lengthy consultation on how she was going to do my hair and some pointers on how to get it conditioned and ready to be fixed, I felt good and we scheduled my appt. On Saturday I went in to have my dried, damaged, over-processed hair "fixed". She colored my hair and cut it and it looks better then it ever has, I was just amazed. Everyone loves my hair and I get tons of compliments on the color. It is shiny and so healthy looking! I am definitely a permanent client of Rupas from now on! Also, the salon is beautiful and inviting. Everyone is super friendly, there is "fancy" coffee and lots of yummy baked goods to snack on. I highly urge you to check this place out, even if it is just for a wax!!!!Thanks a bunch Rupa for my awesome hair! Cori

I have lived in the area for over a year and I happen to walk by the salon last week . I ran in to get the prices, they are fair, so I made an appointment. Rupa did my hair and honestly, will forever. After the most detailed consult, she highlited, colored and cut my hair to the best it has ever looked and felt. She gives great blowdrys. The shampoo lady is also great. Highly recommend the place.
