I stumbled upon this wonderful gem of a yarn shop by accident... while visiting my daughter who lives in the area! (psst... don't tell, but I'll be visiting A LOT more often now that I found this LYS!)

I found the yarn shop to be well stocked with incredible variety in fiber content, color, and weight. I am encouraged to try knitting socks as they have so many beautiful sock yarns to choose from. They have so many samples throughout the store and displayed in a variety of ways which got my creative juices going. I really had no idea that there are so many beautiful yarns. I think my favorite things is that they have samples made using sock yarn, but not socks!! They had a couple of doilies like I would have found in my grandmother's house, but made of bright colored yarn! What fun!

The gal that helped me was so sweet. I think her name was Joanie. She was such a dear and showed me so many different yarns. I finally chose a plain yarn for a small baby Afghan, and while I love the choice, I'm longing for the wonderful colorful yarns I left behind. She showed me one that is made of Lama - it was so SOFT! I'm excited, too, because they have social knitting groups! I might even get my crochet hooks out again... I think it's probably been 40 years, at least... I can't wait to go back to Yorkshire Yarn!
