Izziban Rocks
Izziban Sushi is my favorite sushi spot. They are located right across wachovia bank in the same parking lot as TGI Fridays on Orange Blossom Trail and Sand Lake Rd. Across the Florida Mall.
They have the most fresh and generous portions of sushi your ever going to find anywhere else. They have great service and awesome sushi chefs. The decor is very modern and colorful.
The sushi roll selection is huge and they all taste really good with lots of flavor, unlike many other places that use too much rice to make the rolls look bigger, here they actually put more tasty ingredients. Everything is presented beautifully. The kitchen food is delicious as the sushi.
I usually order a couple rolls along with a chicken bento box and a couple appetizers. You'll be blown away at the portions you receive, everything is too good to just type out. You'll have to try it yourself. The best time to go is during their happy hours everyday 5-7...sushi, rolls ,and appetizers only $3.50. I hit up the happy hour with my buds a few times a week, we can't get enough of this place.

Better sushi in the area
Izziban is not that bad, however there are much better places in the area to get sushi. The interior of the establishment is sharp. The service is good and the selection of rolls is fair.
If you are by the Florida Mall and want sushi, give this place a try.

Amazing
This place makes city search feel reliable...Izziban Sushi is amazing-the menu has a lot of authentic Japanese dishes....the appetizer menu alone is full of yummy traditional delicacies. The wasabi shumai and cream cheese dumplings (crab rangoon) makes my mouth watering for more just thinking about them. They have every type of sushi roll you could ask for. I went there with my friends twice in one day because it was so damn good. We love to sit at the sushi bar and watch the sushi chefs make sushi. There are screens at the sushi bar that plays movies and slideshows of customers to watch as you enjoy your sushi. Try the pineapple sake cocktail...that was awesome, best "saketine" I've ever had. The decor is fresh as their sushi. As far as the music goes, I guess they've updated it...lol glad we didn't have to listen to 80's music. a must go for sure!

yummy rolls!
I agree with the review below...the music is tacky and very distracting. The decor and layout of the place is really nice. Service is just ok. the menu is great and I really enjoyed the rolls we ordered. I also orderd white tuna sashimi which they gave you a nice cut of.
Pros: selection of rolls, great tasting sushi
Cons: service and music

they don't skimp on the fish!!
Afte reading reviews and hearing about thier sake 2 4 1 my husband and i decided to go. I am a big fan of Shari, which I highly reccomend, however Izziban is much closer to us and Shari can get so crowded at times. The decor was way cute and the space was big and airy. It was a nice change from the so small sushi joints around town. We started with the fried calamari which was excellent. it came with 2 dipping sauces which were good as well. My husband got the chicken tempura which came with a huge bowl of miso(which was the best i ever tasted) and a nice portion of ginger salad. The portions are huge. AS for the sushi, the poritons were huge as well. The prices are a little more than average but once you get your meal, you see why. My roll had soo much fish in it which was awesome. usually places skimp on that and give you more rice ..not here. Everything was really good and the 2 for 1 sake and wine was a plus.
one compaint!! the music. it totally didn't go with the atmosphere which is trendy and chill. Lionel Ritchie, Celine Dion, ect played the entire time. It transported me to a skating ring back in the 80's!! A nice ambiant or electronic mix would have been nice. I want to go back but hopefully they change the station!
Pros: the poritons, freshness and decor
Cons: the service, the music playing

very impressed
izziban was very impressive. My girlfriend and I stumbled across this place on accident looking for what use to be saucy bellas (italian restuarant)....was slightly disappointed that they were not here anymore, but I love sushi anyway so I gave it a try. defintetely loved what they did with the decor and new liquor bar and sushi bar. I got to sample several sake's and now I know my favorite is Kurosawa. We would definitely reccoment the izziban roll, that was our favorite. Our server was very friendly and was very attentive. I guess it varies customer to customer, but we definitely had a great time and will be back very soon. I hope they stick around longer than saucy bellas did, because there aren't very many good sushi spots like this nearyby.

I should have followed my instinct
I know a better place...
After reading these reviews I decided to go with my husband to Izziban. We love sushi and sashimi and we are regular customers of Oriental House (in the opposite corner of OBT and Sand Lake, next to Outback).
We liked the first impression of the restaurant (modern and nice) although not many people.
We asked 5 minutes to read the menu and we started ordering. When we asked for a recommendation of sake, the waiter was not very sure about dry or sweet. Summarazing, it took 30 minutes for us to start drinking. Then, the food took 40 minutes (1 sashimi sampler, a salmon skin roll and Izziban or Hawaian roll).
Two of these were fine but the 3rd was immerse in sauce of maionaise, ketchup and cream cheese.
Then we decided to ask for Happy Roll and this was fast because they were already closed.
The roll came ok but cream cheese or other cream in excess.
We like japanese food and sushis but we like when we can feel the taste of everything, not a mask of cream.
I recommend you try to find Oriental House and you will be surprised how good is the food, how intimate is the atmosphere, wiaters have knowledge and price is honest.
Pros: Decor
Cons: Excess of cream cheese and mayo
