Great Design! Great Service! I highly recommend this design-savvy company. I fell in love with my pool from the 3D computer drawings they created for me and I love it in real life now.

The design and construction of our pool and hot tub was a real challenge. We're on a lake, with a severe slope from the back patio to the lake, and not a lot of working room. Ascension Pools design software was very good, and it enabled us to see several design possibilities before making any final decisions. I have all of the final design drawings, and our pool and hot tub look exactly like it had been drawn up. We get nothing but compliments on our pool. I would have rated them 5 stars except that the construction ran a little late, primarily due to weather, though. They are also dependent upon the few sub-contractors that do this sort of work - but so is just about every pool company around. If I complained about anything, such as the condition of the slope between the pool and lake, Les came out and made sure that it was taken care of. I definitely recommend them.

I am still astonished that people can be so nasty. Whether you have a good experience or a bad one, does not mean you need to jump on someone when they are down.

I believe that everyone had a bad time just after the hurricane especially the Ewen's, they lost their home for God's sake. I am not sure who said, "What goes around comes around....." you should be ashamed of yourself. Are you trying to say that God planned to destroy their home? I think not.

As for my pool, it is absolutely beautiful and the construction went great.

As for any other advice, do not go with someone because they are the cheapest, you will get suckered each time. Just because something is cheap does not mean that it will not cost you in the long run. Ascension Pools was the most innovative, thoughtful and most professional of all the pool companies that I interviewed and we interviewed them all.

As for the other companies in town, just do your homework on them as well.

Pros: Beautiful pool with great communication

Cons: I cannot think of any

This may be the source of the fishy smell on these guys... Do a Google search for "Ascension Pools LWCC" and click on the link for Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation vs. Ascension Pools which is on the Public Library of Law website.

When you don't pay your workers compensation premiums to cover your workers, what does that say about your business and management skills? When the courts rule against you to the tune of $47k plus attorney fees, how do you pay your workers to finish your customers pools? I smell a bankruptcy filing in the making here folks!

Pros: Yup, these guys are "Pros" at over promising and under delivering

Cons: If you can't deliver what you promise and take customers money, yup, that's a "Con"

You're not alone, my friend. We researched all the pool builders in the area before going with these guys because at the time there was no negative reviews on them and they had a fairly decent record with the Better Biz Bureau. My guess is people are too scared to file a complaint with them perhaps? We came very close to considering that ourselves but our pool is in completion stage now - finally!. The female owner who only handles the sales side of things either doesn't seem to be in touch with the reality of what is going on with her business or she knows and is doing a very good job of concealing it. Either way, its not good and they really should be up front with their customers. She rarely called to check on us after the sale. We had heard that her house was demolished when a large tree fell on it during the hurricanes. We don't wish that on anyone but I guess what goes around, comes around, eh? Maybe its a wakeup call from the Man upstairs?

We got a lot of run around and had problems with them not showing up to work on our pool when they said they would be out here. What we think was happening, besides their crew and staffing problems, is that they are financially strained. Consider the fact that they have relocated several times now and recently purchased a rather larger facility for their new office/warehouse. They are probably having to bring in new pool deals in order to pay their contractors to finish prior sold pools. It's all about cash flow in a business like this. That's our guess anyway.

After going through this whole experience, we really don't feel comfortable recommending ANY pool contractor in this area and have found out that this is just par for the course in the pool industry. They ALL have a poor track record from what we could tell. Thank God it's all behind us now.

Hope your pool gets finished soon before it gets any worse!

Pros: The quality of finished product is really good but...

Cons: You have to wait a lot longer than they say they can finish a pool

Glad to see we are not the only ones out there having problems with these people. Its been over 4 months now and our pool is still not finished. When you call them to find out when they will be out here working on it again, they tell you they will be out today and then never show up. We always have to call them, they never call us. Not the way to do business, especially in a community where everyone knows everyone and talks. My husband is so ticked off at these people right now.

Pros: Sales person and owner knows her stuff on how to sell you

Cons: Poor communication and unreliable workers

.

Got off to a good start but faded fast. Right now is not a good time to go with these guys. Like us, every person we talked to who is currently using Ascension Pools to build their pool is extrememly unhappy. Long delays, no communication with customers, can't keep their workers, they claim that rain is the problem but it hadn't been raining that much, say they will be there on Wednesday and never show up or even call to say why they didn't, poor management, etc. To show you how dumb they are, they post their signs in the yards of customer pools under construction. When you knock on the door to inquire, the story is always the same as ours. Really bad business management folks! My advice is stay away from this one and keep looking. These guys won't last long at this rate. Silly thing is, we had 4 friends who were seriously considering building a new pool with these guys and watching our experience closely - these idiots totally blew it!!! How dumb is that?!!

Pros: Good materials and quality

Cons: Really bad management and high turnover of skilled labor = long project delays
