We specialize in designing and building environmentally sound residential landscapes. Robert Cornell is an award-winning landscape designer and licensed landscape contractor with over 25 years of experience.
Straight shooter. At first viewing of our garden, Robert laid out a plan that came off just as he said it would. There were no hidden costs or little add-ons. His knowledge of plants borders on the encyclopedic. He was the only landscaper we interviewed who knew the names and properties of all our existing plants. Philosophically we were right in step as we wanted to go native and that is his speciality. His crew and his subcontractors were all a pleasure; it was clear they all had good working relations. Even now in follow up it never takes him very long to call us back with advice on maintenance, pests, watering schedule etc.
Our garden has been on native species gardening tours and PBS has contacted us about an upcoming documentary. We're glad to have met Robert and couldn't recommend him more highly.

We could not be happier with the landscaping Robert Cornell did for us.
We live on a corner lot on a very busy street and wanted to reclaim some of the front yard space for our own as well as cut down on the visual and auditory clutter that littered our view from our living room, dining room and kitchen. We are absolutely blown away with how Robert planned the space giving us three new outdoor living spaces and loads of space for our three boys (5, 3, 3) to explore and play in what previously felt like two very small front yards that were unusable because of the high speed traffic (and curb hopping accidents!) that shared our space. The new space feels like a total oasis. The spaces flow wonderfully and everyone who comes over comments on how beautiful our outdoor spaces are.
Robert concepted and designed a plan for a combination stucco/foliage wall to enclose our property, side patio with fountain, and hard and soft landscaping for our front and back yards including drawing up the plans, obtaining city permits, overseeing the hardscape execution and executing the softscape plan.
Robert was wonderful to work with. His vision for our space was dead on to what we were envisioning and he was considerate to accommodate all of our needs and requests into the plan.
Robert's pricing was competitive and he stayed on budget through the entire project.
We highly recommend him.

Robert Cornell did a great job at our home. He adapted a somewhat impractical design we had obtained elsewhere, and gave us a beautiful, colorful, drought tolerant, low maintenance garden, using many California native plants. He and his crew were easy to work with and responsible. We are so pleased that we are using him for some further work.
