They charged $149 for a replacement capacitor for the heating unit. The same capacitor (Mars 12032 Mortor Run Capicitor) sells for less the $8 purchased in bulk. That's a whopping 2,000 percent markup. If the same markup applied to you car you drive you would pay over one-half of a million dollars for your car. Lets see, how do you spell RIPOFF!!!

A couple of weeks back, the pouring rains and frosty nights gave way to a few days of unusually warm weather. My house was built during the Eisenhower administration so it has minimal insulation and on hot days (anything above 70 degrees) the place stays warm all night. when I turned on the ac, I could hear the unit outside working and feel air pouring out of the vents inside the house. But the air wasn't cool, let alone cold. The next day I asked my neighbor who installed his new ac unit last spring and he told me about Park. I called and they came out to the house 2 days later. They said all I needed was new coolant. If they had said I needed a major repair, I would have had no choice but to believe them and pay the bill, but they were up front with me and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. By day's end we had frigid air on demand. Hopefully the ac unit still has a few years left in it, but when it finally dies, I'll have these guys come back to put in a new one.
