They got my hair so straight!!! I've never been to a Dominican Salon or anyone that used rollers for my blow out and I love the results that way. Just my opinion. I am African American with natural hair and I would recommend this place to anyone. The only thing is I think the trim may have been a little more than a trim. But my hair looked great when I left there!

Well I fist went their for a wash and set...I am used to other Dominican salons but the Place is closer to my home. Even though I made an appointment, I had to wait for a while because apparently they were out shopping!Anyway, they washed my hair, put me under the dryer with deep condition, then washed it out put me under the dryer to dry my hair(no rollers). Then I had a blow out and style which seriously I could have done better! (and I'm no hair pro)...anyway, paid the 45 bucks and I left their pissed vowing to never go back!Stupid me, 3 weeks later I decided to go back for a relaxer. Made an appointment 3 days before and called and hour before to make sure my appointment was held and they told me they had no record of me (should of been a sign!!) I still went, got the relaxer done, washed out, shampooed, conditioned (NOT DEEP), then put under the dryer...afterwards, got a blow out and flat ironed...SO NO ROLLERS, NO TRIM, NO DEEP CONDITIONER and yet it was still $75!!!! My hair just looked limp and stupid on my head! That just did it for me! Then the Gladys chick has the audacity to tell me that I didn't request the rollers (DAMN IT IF ITS PART OF IT DO I NEED TO REQUEST IT)???? Anyway, I have dealt with other hair salons and they are not even ranked on my list of decent ones...the only plus is that the INTERIOR of the salon is looks cute, but as far as performance, they really suck! SO AGAIN I WONT BE BACK AND DON'T RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!

I Love Love Love This Salon. I went there with my hair severely damaged with split ends and I have natural hair. Gladys did a fantastic job with me, my hair has NEVER been straighter even back when I got relaxers. I paid $45 for a wash, blow, and trim. These ladies work wonders!!! I promise you'll get the results your looking for at this place. My hair is back healthy and growing. This is my home now lol.

Perfect for women of color with natural hair! The way they flat iron your hair works wonders! Not putting anyone down...but i went to a African-American shop soon after i washed my hair from the first flat iron and they Did Not produce the same results. They didn't even get my roots good at all. Any time i need my hair flat The Place is where i go!

I would not recommend the place to anyone since Gladys left. The people that took over are obviously non-professional and rude to customers. They seem to charge whatever they see fit now instead of a set price. The price list info board that was hanging over the front counter was taken off after Gladys left so now when you go there, you're in for a big surprise as far as not only customer service but also the price. The last time I went there I was so frustrated that I never went back. When I walked in, I specifically told the girl that I did not wish to have my hair deep conditioned because I had just treated my hair only to find out at the end that she charged me for deep conditioning because according to her, it was not optional..

I have been going to The Place Hair Salon for about three months. When I first went there I had a good amount of damage to my hair because of several permanent colors I'd used in my hair. In the time since I have been going there, not only has my hair stopped falling out, but areas that I thought would never grow back have started filling in quickly. The prices are decent ($35 for a wash and set, $40 for a wash and blow), and the stylists are familiar with doing black women's hair who usually have relaxers and processed hair. The staff is a little slow and there can sometimes be a bit of a language barrier, so be prepared to spend some time there before you are finished, but overall it is a great salon.
