After reserching and words by month my daguther hired this company last year to renovate her loft. I was very impressed at the result. Recently I hired them to renovate my bathroom. Compared their quotes to other contractors I found their quotation is not the lowest. However I decided to hire them based on their performance on my daugher's loft. Again I am happy with their craftsmanship, and their attention for details, they do not try to rush the job (do not tempt to cut cornors) They did not ask for more money when encounter unexpected complications. At end of the day I am happy with the work. I highly recommend this company.

I hired this contactor to completely renovate my 1 bedroom co-op. They talked a good game, appeared sincere and sounded like they knew what they were doing, man was I completely misled. Demolition of the entire place was no problem, an idiot can rip out floors and walls. The entire apartment was gutted, so they started with a clean slate. As a naive first time home buyer, they convinced me that construction permits were not necessary and told me they NEVER obtain them. When I had a complaint filed against the construction, I had to stop everything and get the required permits. Once I got these permits, construction continued.

Thank God we watched them, as we caught so many basic mistakes, but we couldn't stay with them all day. We discovered they drove home every day to eat lunch, which wasted so much time. When they installed our new Anderson windows, some of them were installed incorrectly, preventing them from being able to be locked and none of the window sills were the same height and/or level. We purchased very expensive Brazilian Teak hardwood floors. They started to install it without leveling the floor. We had to force them to level the floor at an extra cost. They subbed out the sanding and polyurethane treatment of the floors and didn't ensure it was done correct, as they treated the new floors right over dirt and debris. They installed the wiring to our new Miele appliances in an unsafe manner and refused to correct the mistakes. So many other imperfections and mistakes were discovered. The worst by far is the sloppy, crooked and improper installation of the entire bathroom slate tile. They saved the bathroom for last and in their haste, they created an uncorrectable disaster. If they only told me that they didn't know how to install mosaic tiles, I would have been ok with that and had someone else do it...it's too late now.

After 4.5 months, several missed deadlines and when I was fed up with all of the mistakes, I fired them and told them to take their tools and get out. They mismanaged the job from the beginning and claimed to know much more than they actually did. I had to hire another contractor and an electrician to correct their mistakes. I would actually give them "no stars". Potential customers....BEWARE!

We hired Trivia Renovations, Inc. in Nov. 2007, after finding them through another contractor website, to perform a complete renovation of our co-op. From the beginning, they tried to talk us out of obtaining the required New York City Dept. of Bldgs. work permits and explained they never secure these permits. We were forced to stop them from working to get the permits after a complaint was filed with this city agency. We realized any company can perform demolition, but the true sign of craftsmen comes when the finishings are done. My wife and I had to take off from work at varying times to monitor their progress, as we consistently found flaws in their work, some of which were so basic and unacceptable. There so many flaws, I only list the major, which we were forced to hire other contractors to fix. Trivia Renovations, Inc. was instructed to level our new hardwood floors, however, despite their attempts, it is still not level. None of our 6 windows sills are the same dimension/height and the area around the window is not square; the exterior aluminum capping of the windows, which they sub-contracted to be performed, has dents and looks terrible; the electrical hook up of our dishwasher and oven which they performed, were done in such a dangerous manner, we had to hire an electrician to come and fix it; they ruined the entire installation of our very expensive mosaic tile in our shower, where many tiles are not flush with the wall, nor are they straight, too much grout was used in some areas, not enough in others and overall it looks terrible. It will cost us a minimum of $2,000 for the labor to replace the wonderboard and install new tile, plus of course the cost of the new tile. We ultimately fired them after 4 months of work, as they missed 3 deadlines and caused enough damage to our property. They claimed they knew way more than they actually do, they mismanaged the entire project and have forced us to hire other contractors to fix their mistakes. I would seriously warn anyone not to use these people.
