The first time I went to the Alfred Angelo??s store in Brea, CA I had a wonderful experience with the representative. My decision to return and purchase a dress was a MISTAKE that I will now have to endure. Due to conflicting schedules I was unable to meet with the representative I had met the first time. I made a decision to purchase a wedding dress with her replacement who was not as genuine or helpful. I paid the deposit as requested. I was instructed that I would be contacted to come back, try on the dress and pay the balance. Upon returning I was told I cannot try on the dress or touch it until I pay for it in full. After much arguing, the manager made an exception. She was rough in the dressing room and while looking for different size undergarments she slammed the door repeatedly. The dress was very wrinkled and poorly presented. I felt for the money I paid, it looked very cheap and not taken care of. There was a problem with the stitching and certain areas were bubbling up. I had to come back and make a special appointment with the seamstress. I got off early from work, sat in traffic for an hour just to come back since she is only available one day a week. I went straight to the restroom and washed my face and hands, as advised by the manager in order to prevent smudging the dress. Another appointed representative helped me back into the dress and got bright orange foundation make up on the front of the garment. She assured me it would wash out with water. After two attempts with a wet paper towel and scrubbing, it did not come off. She told me she had notified the staff and they would take care of it. After meeting with the seamstress who fixed the bubbling areas, she put my dress in a new bag that wasn't see thru like the first. I paid the balance and left the building but stopped at my car. I called to inquire if the make-up had been removed from the dress. They told me it would not set in and not to worry. They said they would clean it when I came back later in four months! I knew better, with no receipt and paid in full that they could "forget" and refuse as well as there would inevitably be a stain. So they then offered to take it to the "shop" and have it cleaned. I had to call back again just to remind them that I was still locked outside the door waiting to return the dress. After they allowed me back into the store the seamstress was less than happy and gave me a receipt for service. Many people besides myself have already physically touched the dress without gloves. The only person that wore gloves was the manager, but even under her supervision she did not direct anyone else to handle with care. Just the day before she was explaining to me and my family why we shouldn't touch the dress and why she was wearing gloves. I will have to go back and pick up my dress again later and hope that there is no further damage. But I hope if you have a choice to go somewhere else, go there and don't come here. I wish I did my research before going there.

Not ok. The manager was rude. They won't let you look at the dresses on the rack - bridal and bridal party. They won't let you take pictures of the bride to be. I went to the HB store when I got married and they were wonderful. Brea was horrible. I do no recommend!

DO NOT ever do alterations with them!!! I went in for my first fitting and I just needed 1 bussel done (but the alterations lady forced me to do 4) and have it trimmed on the length. I also needed a blusher (which only should cost $19 as she told me the 1st time I asked) but turned out to be $35! (The lady even yelled at me when I corrected her on the price, she told the other worker that I was one of the "complaining customers." I was right infront of her!!!! She didn't care!) All alterations together came out to $550!!!!!!!! How in the world did it come out to $550???!!! Unbelievable!!!!!! My dress was $800! Alterations was like buying another dress!!! Also! My sister-in-law went in to get a swatch and it was literally the size of your pinky nail!! My main thing is DO NOT do your alterations at this place! The alterations lady is so rude, mean, doesn't even know what she's doing! I totally went somewhere else and only paid $75 for alterations!!!!!!!!!! And the lady I went to knew what she was doing! Come on now... COMPARE $550 to $75!!!!! I hate the alterations lady at this site!!!! Worst person to go to!

My experience with Alfred Angelo Bridal in Brea was fantastic. All the workers were great and very helpful. This was my first store and my last. To my surprise my mom found a dress she liked and I was not too sure of. The ladies encouraged me to try it on and I was amazed at how beautiful and elegant it was; and it looked good on me. I was also able to get discounts for all the ladies and guys in the wedding. My dress needed a lot of alterations and Brea has this beautiful and gracious angel who does all alterations and was able to perform magic on my wedding dress. I am so pleased and extremely happy with the staff at Alfred Angelo's Bridal Store in Brea. Every bride to be should choose this store. Kudos to the staff and management.

I am so glad I found this site. I need someplace to vent about my experience with this place.

1st Visit: 5 months before wedding. We looked at Bridesmaid dresses. Helpful employees treated us like trash and were anything but helpful. They didn't suggest or help us at all. That would have gotten in the way of all their sitting around doing nothing they had going on.

2nd Visit: We find our bridesmaid dresses. Of course they don't have our exact sizes. Fine. We try on dresses, they measure us and order our sizes.

3rd Visit: Fitting day. We come into store, they ask if we are here for fitting. We say we are. So now we must wait... and wait.... and wait. We realize others who came after us are being taken before us. We get up to ask why.. they tell us we should have signed in. Would have been nicer if they told us that an hour ago when we came. So we sign in now. Wait for ANOTHER hour. They have only ONE seamstress. JUST ONE!! It's wedding season, the place is packed, and we are all waiting for one cranky little old lady.

I try my dress on. It is easily 3 sizes too big. (even though they MEASURED ME) . Aaaaah, now comes the alterations. The experienced (her words) seamstress couldn't tell that the dress was too big. (shouldn't she be able to tell that kind of thing?) So I showed her where I thought it was too big. She pinned a little here and there and charged us $200 to fix this $150 dress!!! I thought the sales staff was bad? This little old seamstress was so rude and condescending I really wanted to hurt her.

4th Visit: Try on dress after alterations. Nope, still not right. Great, she gets to work on it some more. Great!

5th Visit: Wait an hour.. finally my turn. Oh no, they can't find my dress. They have me sit in a dressing room for 10 minutes while seamstress assistant looked for my dress. After waiting those 10 minutes I asked if they lost it. Nope, girl just forgot about me and went on to help somebody else. Great! Get dress on, guess what? The seamstress made it worse!!! I leave very, very angry.

Same day, new seamstress: Woman can't believe what the other seamstress did to dress. She will have to undo everything and remake dress practically from scratch! This, of course, will cost me. Another $150 down the drain. So, this crappy dress ended up costing $500.

I can't stress enough how horrible this place is. From the rude, lazy and useless sales staff to the incompetent seamstress. I see that the Better Business Bureau already graded this dress shop, it received an "F" rating.

If your friend takes you to this place.. RUN! Seriously, RUN FAST!!

I went to Alfred Angelo in Brea with a friend who bought her wedding dress there. Apparently the customer service was excellent when she was contemplating a purchase but once the dress was bought, the service went down the hill from there. The women in this shop are so arrogant and snobby. The are not the least bit helpful and take little care in handling items or making sure they don't put their high heel through your gown. After witnessing the treatment my friend got I went to David's Bridal down the street and got a gorgeous bridesmaid dress for hundreds less that what I would have paid at Alfred Angelos. The are really overpriced and their alteration fees are outrageous! The second visit was just as bad when we returned for my friend's fitting. I have yet to see the alterations, but rest assurred, I will comment again after her final fitting.
