If you are looking for a doctor who is going to tell you what you want to hear and coddle you, look elsewhere. Dr. Blair is an amazing doctor who will shoot you straight and tell you what you NEED to hear. He has an incredible bedside manner with my little boy and is completely understanding when I express my concerns, but he will tell me when I need to change something. He's not going to be soft on you, and let's face it, us new parents need to hear the truth. He always spends as much time as I need, answering my questions and I never feel rushed at all. Some of these reviews are blowing my mind. No, he's not going to see you if you haven't paid your bill. He may be a doctor but he's also running a business. Don't be ridiculous.

I drive 30 minutes to see him and I intend to continue when my next child is born.

Started seeing Dr. Blair when he was solo in the practice. Over the years, we have seen every doctor who has joined the practice. While Straughn is affable and patient, didn't always get answers that were satisfying. At this point, all of my children now see ONLY Dr. McGonnell. He is very kind, has a good raport with not only parents but with kids, takes our concerns seriously, and offers sound advice for non-medical issues. NEVER judgemental or condescending. HE is the reason we stay.

Office has always been good about getting kids in. No complaints there. Sick kid waiting room could use a few toys, just as a side note. Even sick kids need a distraction from sitting in a waiting room.

We just recently met Dr. Blair and a majority of his team. We were very impressed with this practice. They are knowledgeable and really work at giving the best care in town. If you have a newborn or you are expecting a child we highly recommend Forest Lane Pediatrics

We've used Dr. Blair since my first daughter was born, and he and everyone at FLP have been GREAT. All of the doctors appear highly competent and the office is great about returning calls quickly usually within the hour. They are also great about getting you in when your child is sick, though you may have to schedule with another doctor. They are also great about not just randomly giving out antibiotics when your child has viral infections. We've never had any problems with the staff or billing, and all of the doctors are very professional that we have seen. I would definitely recommend FLP to a friend.

I LOVE FLP, ESPECIALLY DR. STRAUGHN. He came to see my daughter as a newborn, he happened to be the Dr. on rounds that day and we have stayed with him. He is a very compassionate and has always had a great bedside manner. Dr Straughn has always been very patient with all of my questions and was very helpful when I lost my insurance and gave me a discounted price for paying cash. Its obvious that he love being a pediatrician. Dr. Blair is nice as well, he would be my second choice.

My experience with FLP at Plano Office is very bad. My OB asked FLP to see my baby in the hospital, then I follow up in clinic. They said a screening test was abnormal, and needed to repeat. They sent me to Labcorp test twice to repeat, and the results were normal. Moreover, after the whole moring they make me to drive back and forth to their office, then labcorp, then back to their office just to get an envelop that they forgot to give me in the first place, the manager/also front desk did not offer a word of apology or solace, but she acted like it was my fault. After 2 normal tests, they demanded and ordered me to have my baby repeated the test again "just to make sure?!" I quit and cancelled the return appointment. I also received a bill of nearly $100 for "surgery" done by a nurse cleaning out the umbilicus which they told my insurance would cover. They threatened to charge me for being late 10 minutes from my appointment, but never apologized for other times that I wait for nearly half an hour.

In my experience, Dr. Blair is condescending and clearly does not like to be questioned about anything. If you're looking for a doctor that will talk to you like an adult and treat you like a partner in your child's health care, keep looking.

I love Forest Lane Pediatrics. my son is 7 and has been a patient from the day he was born!!! they are very goo doctors. We especially like seeing Dr. Stroghn. Blair is our second choice, but they are all good. they are there to listen and always explain everything.. of course they charge, but that;s what makes this establishment good, and free from people on medicaid and chip!! I dont really care about toys, that's not whats important to me when it comes to a doctor! I LOVE IT AND SO DOES MY SON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This pediatricians office was horrible. We chose this office for my 3 yr old and newborn and they came highly reccomended.Upon our first office visit my oldest son realized there were no toys to play with. There was however a table top train track, and empty colorful bins that looked like they should have had toys in them. We were offered a shot for whooping cough since its making a comeback and chose to have the shot - which would have cost $20 at our dr. We were told that it would be claimed on insurance - however it was not and we had a $90 bill for the shots. After the first two months we went back and were told about the balance, we refused to pay (for obvious reasons) and after sitting for an hour in the drs office, were told that they would not giving my son (2 months old) his necessary vaccinations nor will they treat him anymore due to our refusal to pay for our shots (which we finally did agree to pay for - if they would see my on and give him the shots) They still refused to give my newborn the shots he needs to be sure that his life is not lost due to having a new immune system. There are no words that can explain how helpless and lost I felt knowing that my son could possibly get sick becuase these Dr's (Straughn & Blair) refused him treatment due to an upaid charge that we were going to pay that day. Thank goodness my old Pediatrician (that is an hour away) agreed to see my son the next day. It takes well over 30 days to get in for a well visit anywhere. The carelessness, selfishness, and disregard for the health of their patients is obvious and I would never EVER refer some one to this office. The office is sterile and scary for children, there are no toys in the waiting room, and th Drs dont care about the health of their children, only how much money they can make. If I could, I would picket out side the office everyday to warn people about this place - I have never been so horrified by peoples actions as I was at this Drs office. Forest Lane Pediactrics will not be around long if they continue to do business like this. That office manager is a witch and their ethics & morals are clearly off kilter.

As far as care is concerned, they are competent and thorough doctors. Our child has seen Dr. Straughn and Dr. Blair and was well cared for medically speaking. However, bedside manner there is lacking somewhat. I, too was very surprised and frankly, angered by the after hours fee. It is $25.00! For that price, I took my child to pediatrics after hour and had him seen! I have asked around and apparently being charged an extra fee for your doctor to do his job is not a standard practice. As a matter of fact, it has made me feel unwelcome and I am looking for a new pediatrician.

There are several doctors in this practice and Dr. Blair was recommended to me by a friend of a friend. I saw Dr. Ron Blair for my child and found him to be condescending and quick to criticize without offering much help or suggestions during routine visits. If you are looking for a compassionate physician, he is not the one for you and your child. While in the waiting room, another couple also mentioned to me that some of the other doctors in the practice are a little more 'understanding'. I did see Dr. McGonnell once, and he was pleasant and thoroughly answered my questions. I also do not like their practice of charging for after hours phone calls. They do have clean facilities and a separate sick room which is nice. Just wanted to get this out there and hope others find it useful information. Have others had a similar experience or is it just me?
