We looked into a lot of places for my daughter's first birthday before deciding on Stonefire. We went with Stonefire for a couple reasons. 1. We invited over 20 adults and 10 kids. We wanted everything set up and cleaned up and a party host to keep the party going.
2. They offer a pinata. Most establishments don't, and we thought it was something the kids would really enjoy. I also really like that we could bring our own (we wanted to stuff it with Minnie Mouse themed items since my daughter loves Minnie) and weren't required to buy Stonefire's generic version.
3. They offer a cotton candy machine in the party room so the kids can watch as their cotton candy is made. I was very excited about this option because I thought all my nieces would love it, so I didn't think twice about paying the additional $20.
These were the three big reasons we went with Stonefire. We were extremely disappointed with what was advertised, what we paid for and the "service" we received. We paid for 19 adults and 10 kids before we even go back to the room. When we get back there are no decorations and the "party host" is standing in the corner of the room putting pizza on plates. She never even asked who the birthday child was. I honestly don't believe that she ever knew it was my daughter's birthday. It was HER party and she was pretty much ignored by the host! The host didn't inform us till our time was almost up that our guests would be free to eat the buffet all day, but that we would only be able to open gifts and have cake in the party room. If I had been informed of this when we walked into the party room we would NOT have wasted our time in the room eating the buffet. We had the room for 90 minutes and they are VERY serious on time. I felt like the host had a stop watch and her only duty while in the room was to make sure we left at the exact minute our time was up. The host never made any announcements to the group or took charge in any way. She would stand in the corner and mutter things to me and it was my job to do everything. While we were eating the buffet I noticed that someone brought a couple tiny plastic bags of cotton candy in the room and shoved them in the corner. I asked where our cotton candy machine was and was informed they didn't have time to set it up. If time setting it up was an issue, it should have been set up ahead of time and ready to go the minute we walked in the room. I paid EXTRA for a cotton candy machine and received old bagged crap that was never announced or handed out to the children and was all left in the room. When it was time for the pinata I was extremely frustrated and disappointed to find that they didn't even have a spot to hang it. The host who is about 5'4 just stood there and held it for the children in her hands. It is absolutely ridiculous that they advertise pinatas and you can't even hang one! We had to go right from the pinata to the birthday cake to opening presents because we were almost out of time. (again if I had KNOWN that we wouldn't be allowed to open presents after 90 minutes was up from the minute we walked in the room we would have planned our time in the room better. If I had known before the party we wouldn't have been at Stonefire!). My daughter didn't even have time to eat a single bite of her own birthday cake. We had about 15 minutes left when she started opening presents and my husband asked if he could buy an additional half hour so that she would have time to finish. The host informed him that the manager was really strict on time and that wasn't an option. What should have been a special experience of my daughter enjoying opening her birthday presents in front of her family ended up being me frantically unwrapping her presents and showing them to her for a second just to get them all unwrapped before we were kicked out. Before leaving we were supposed to get a goody bag for the birthday child which was never given to us. There was a card left on the table with the wrong name (it rhymed with my daughter's name. My husband had called and e-mailed ahead of time to tell them that they had got her name wrong in the e-mail they sent him and it was never corrected). You have to pay BEFORE going back to the party room, so I feel very ripped off. The host had already recieved her tip BEFORE she provided her services as a timekeeper for my daughter's party and they had already been paid for the cotton candy BEFORE they decided they didn't feel like setting it up. I wish we had never went with Stonefire. I paid $350 for a birthday party for my daughter where she didn't get to eat cake or open presents. I am so upset that my first baby's first birthday was completely RUINED by Stonefire every time I think about it I want to cry.

Great for everyone of all ages! We just had our sons first birthday/baptism party there. Our guest age range was from 1-70yrs old. Everyone had a great time and our party was rather large. They are under new ownership and have turned the place around. I was in the restaurant business for a long time through college and I am a bit more picky than most. This was an easy party for me, they did everything. Our hosts kept all the kids busy and organized with a magic show, balloon animals and face painting. They helped the kids out with everything they needed and made it great for the adults to sit and socialize or enjoy the show themselves. Everything was clean and the food was great, we had the buffet option, which the kids got a real kick out of. The service was great, everyone from the gameroom employees, food team, hosts to the management were wonderful. The toddler room was great for some of our smaller guests. There really is something for everyone. It was not expensive for a party of 30 people and all the kids got $20 game cards with our party option. Everyone had a great time and we didn't have one complaint form our guests. They were mostly family so if there was a complaint, I would have heard it. LOL We love this place and my husband and I will continue to go, either for a party or just a nice family day with our son.

ALL I CAN SAY IS DISAPPOINTING!!! The price to pay for their buffet is not worth it. We went for my daughters birthday, they gave her nothing special not even a birthday crown to wear. The food look like it was sitting there for hours less than 5 slices on each pizza tray all dried up, disgusting. The flavor has changed, very very low quality tasting food. The COOK in the back was stuffing his face while making the food at the same time what kind of service is that? The front lady cashier was rude and inconsiderate!! Yes now you have to clean up after yourself. This place has changed dramatically since it first opened. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. No one was in the game room, you literally had to search for someone and when you did find them the one girl did not look happy at all to work with kids, so why work their?? This is supposed to be a kids friendly happy atmosphere, everyone had sticks up their asses and were not very happy to be there. Never again will I was that much money on a place like that again. Chuck E Cheese is way more worth it!!!

I brought a total of 8 kids to Stonefire for my son's 11th bday party. I paid for the $150 deal they had for the April special days prior. It was the worse way to spend that kind of money. They had a party host meet us at the door. She brought us to a very tiny closed room with a huge table and there was nothing fun about the room. It felt like we were sitting at a work conference. The lady tried to entertain the kids with shaping balloons and the food... .the kids were bored. They wanted to go out and play. There was no character involved, the kids just wanted to play. The pizza was not the best, and she was serving the food like we were not able to just grab our own pizza. Then, the cake came. It was a plain cake that looks like I made it myself. I'm a bad baker. The cake was 12 inches wid and 4 inches long. With no decorations, no happy bday on it or anything. I wish someone would of let me know. I would of brought my son a cake. Then I was pressured about tipping the host when all she did was blow balloons and pass out the food and drinks. It was a very awkward moment. Though I think they need alot of help getting the parties together, the playground was awesome. I would never again pay that kind of money for a party there, but I would bring my kids there to play.

To whom it may concern;
Last evening I took my grandson and friend to your establishment for a fun evening. THere were three adults and two children seven years of age. Our bill at the entrance was over $80. We got a table and went to get our food. What a disappointment. The salad bar was fairly decent. Salad drsg running down the handles of the spoons used to serve it. The entrees were horrible. I am calorie conscious, so I usually go for chicken. Yuck ?? nothing was named- everything said?Special? Special what? I asked a man behind the counter serving what one of the entrees where- He said nothing. Just looked at me. he didn??t speak English. THe only thing recognizable was a dry chicken leg sitting on a pile of mashed potatoes. Yuck. The food was awful-
We went to the rides and only 4 of 9 bumper cars were running. The area was dark and people were rude! We went to Skeet bowl and no tickets came out for my grandson and friend. They played the game and used up their points and nothing! We had to get an attendant. He refilled the tickets. Took all the fun away of watching what he had earned!!
Also- we had the cards for the game and wanted a necklace for it- a lousy rope ?? I went up front and asked $3 for each lanyard. What a gimmick!
To sum it up- My grandson talks about Stone Fire all the time ?? he is seven. It costs so much but we used to enjoy it and save for it. We wanted to have his birthday party there- the place has gone downhill- It??s dirty and unkept-The food is uneatable, the servers don??t even speak English. The game attendants and the girls at the ticket desk are RUDE. The place is horrendous!
I am a professional- nurse with a business myself.Someone has to set high standards for the manager or the place will have the reputation it has now!!!! Not an acceptable night for the large sum of money you charge. No matter the price - the place is dirty, rundown, unfriendly and no one seems to care!! I can't take my loved ones there again. Don't chance it!!

I think that Stone fire is a very nice, fun ,and cool place.
Heads up next time you go there try their pizza. But the best part is
their little kids fake food kitchen center my grand children love it.So
next time you go to stone fire pizza make sure to spread the news of joy everywhere and make a time nobody will forget.P.S.if someone
asks you where a nice place that has great pizza and a special
surprise for the kids tell them stone fire pizza is the place.

Bad food, the kids don't usually even eat much of it. Just keep leaving the plate at the table running back to try to find something they like. Prizes are pathetic and would appreciate the chance, as Chuck E's does, to pay extra to get anything worth keeping.

First of all, let me say I used to love Stonefire Pizza. When it first opened we frequented the establishment and thought it was a great deal, especially because we had very young children and we loved the room with the water table, train, play area, etc. Well, our visits have become more infrequent, and after last night, I do not believe we will visit again. I agree with the other reviews that the establishment has become very dirty, many things are in disrepair, and they are understaffed by ineffecient employees. My biggest concern last night, however, was the amount of children that were running around unsupervised with drinks/food in areas where this is not appropriate (train area, pretend restaraunt, jungle gym area). Now I know this is not Stonefire's fault, but instead the ineffective parents, but I feel there is more Stonefire could do to address the rules that are being broken. While supervising my 3 year old twins in the younger child area (which clearly states ages 3 to 8 with adult supervision), so many children came in with food and drinks and spilled these all over. They did not take off their shoes where it was stated to do so, and there was no supervision of extremely rough playing. I felt like I was the only parent around and when I informed two different employees, one I believe was a manager about the food and drink spills and leftover drinks and food in the areas, they both shrugged and said "we'll get to that as soon as we can", but two hours later when we left, there were still 10 half-filled cups and large spills back in the jungle gym play area to which I am referring. I guess I feel the establishment has to employ a person to be in the areas to which I am referring to enforce these rules. Clearly the parents are not doing this, so the staff must. It is not clean, safe or enjoyable with the current state of chaos that exists.

First of all, I NEVER review things online. I should, I just never seem to take the time. I felt obligated to respond because I feel so strongly that Stone Fire Pizza is a fabulous establishment with excellent management. I think it's terrific that Ted Cutting is taking the time to learn about and address customer issues in this forum. I have personally met Ted and he has gone above and beyond to give my family an excellent experience at his restaurant over the years. In fact, we are going there on Friday and we are REALLY looking forward to it! I understand that when thousands of people are served on a weekly basis that there are bound to be mistakes that are made. I truly believe that the vast majority of patrons have a wonderful time and look forward to coming back! We sure will! :)

Update: Our visit on August 27th, 2010

We had such an amazing time today!

Our positive experience started even before we arrived. My son has a severe peanut allergy. I was able to research the food allergens on the website before we came to the restaurant. It??s obvious you try and minimize the use of peanuts and tree nuts because of the increased prevalence of peanut and tree nut related food allergies in children. It??s really appreciated!

We saw our first example of your helpful staff when we arrived at the register. The gentleman working the register was trying to help a customer who was extremely indecisive. He was abundantly patient and very good at explaining the options and specials available.

The great experience inside the restaurant began when your helpful staff got my daughter fresh face painting crayons so she could safely do her ??make up?. Emily has a compromised immune system because of the medications used to treat her Crohn??s disease. When I saw the other kids dropping the crayons on the floor and using them on their lips and noses I knew they weren??t safe for Emily. I was so grateful for fresh crayons! Emily looked quite amazing when she was done. ;)

Then, your staff went WAY above and beyond to make sure my food was gluten free. They made me a great veggie pizza on the gluten free crust, the rice noodles with marinara sauce was fantastic, and they even got creative by making me a dessert pizza with gluten free crust, chocolate, caramel and icing! Delish! ?

A special thanks to Justin the chef! My friend and I were commenting about how we didn??t think there was anything Justin wouldn??t be willing to try and do to make our experience fantastic. Larry was also extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the gluten ingredients.

From beginning to end, I don??t think we could have had a better experience. Everyone we came into contact with was extremely helpful and friendly. We can??t wait to come back!

I am so shocked at the reviews and comments about Stonefire Pizza! I don't understand what these people expect from a kid attraction. It has always been clean, the staff is always friendly and helpful and the food is always good- particularily for the price. The biggest problem I have ever had at this place is parents who don't watch their children, don't teach their children to respect other people and the toys and environment in which they are playing. Sometimes there is a line to wait, but guess what?? There is a line at the movies, at McDonalds, at the park waiting for a slide, at the fair, at Monkey Joes....etc. My kids love it there and they always have a blast!

I went on a Tuesday night because I didnt want to wait in line over the weekend. (Its worth it though, I just had some free time on Tuesday night) I go there maybe three or four times a year and I have seen it when it was too good to be true and when they had some problems with their food and service.(early last year) I have to say, I agree with the statement that the dad of 5 left. This was by far the best visit we have had since we have been coming here! The food has all been upgraded in my opinion. I had a chance to ask a manager about the changes and he said the whole buffet was homemade. They even make their own dough. Whatever that means, the pizza tastes great! I did see some older pizzas but they were thrown out as soon as I noticed them. It wasnt too busy but I love that they are always clean here. I dont like taking my kids anywhere where it is dirty. Im sure most parents would feel the same way. Anyway, Im happy with this place and I cant say enough about "Make sure it stays this way!!! I also noticed the owner responds to these so PLEASE make sure you keep whatever your doing in place because my kids and I will always keep coming if you do...Thanks

Wow....I was really impressed! I wondered about some of the comments in recent times about this place but I went with my five kids anyway because we had cards from awhile ago. My kids havent stopped talking about this place since last week. The food is excellent! Maybe some of these folks came on a bad day but this food was hot, tasty, and great value!!!! I mean come on, where can you get fresh fish, slushies, tons of different pizzas under one roof. I paid 43.00 dollars for dinner for 6? I don't understand how that's not a good deal....I guess everyone has a different idea of what is a good deal but it was a deal for me for sure. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the staff really made my kids feel welcome. I would highly recommend taking a trip over there if you want a good time. Thanks Stonefire!!

Managing Partner/Owner Thank You so much for your warm words!!! We will do everything in our power to make every trip that you come just as enjoyable!

The first time we went were were so excited but then highly let down. The price at the time for a lunch buffet was $6 and now when I went to there website it is $8.50. To me it isn't worth that much, the food is very bland, my husband did not enjoy it either. Won't go back till prices go back down, I can deal with the crummy food for $6. I did like the child's buffet center, good choices for kids. While I was going to get a slice of pizza it looked old, and I don't think one of the workers saw me standing there and said "this pizza looks like sh*t". Didn't want to eat it after that. After she said that she didn't even take the pizza off the buffet line. Also while we were there the cops were there about a women who was verbally abusing her children in the restroom. The police were right in the dining room were we were eating questioning the woman, and then into the play room, don't you think you could have pulled them aside outside of the eating area and play area. So my child kept asking me what was going on instead of eating. Also the games do seem expensive. Was thinking about having my daughters party there but the food is not good enough, pizza at chucke cheese is better and games are only 25 cents there.

managing partner/owner Hello Tara, I can assure you that the 5.99 will be back. We run that through out the year. This will be available starting April 12th. As far as our food product I am quite certain that none of our staff would act in this way. That is why we have an open kitchen. It is to encourage our staff to interact with you in a friendly manner. I have still forwarded your comments to my kitchen manager to address with his staff. we are very concerned with child safety and are constantly looking to improve ways to address our public in issues such as the one you are discussing. In this case, the mother was in question had another mother call and this is why the police addressed it in this fashion. They informed us this will send a solid message to guests not to allow this kind of behavior in our establishment. Our games have no duck tape, they all work, and they are new. I would put our games and prizes up against CC anytime. We make everything from scratch....so food is not frozen. That is what CC serves so I will let you decide. Please call me if you want to discuss this further...Thanks for the comments

I personally have not yet been to Stonefire Pizza but I've always heard about how cool it is and that there's great food. My cousin and her two children are coming in town this sunday and I'm looking for somewhere to take them. I'm soooo glad I checked reviews because after seeing this, I don't know if I ever want to set foot in there!!! I work in customer service so I know that a person is 10 times more likely to talk about a bad experience than a good one but this is just rediculous! Especially the one that was charged double when they shouldn't have been charged at all. Come on, just admit that you're wrong and give them thier freakin money back!!! Times are hard enough as it is. Also, I think it's interesting that managment/owner is replying to rewiews- you don't find that much. Kudos for that - but that's about it.

managing partner/owner We are cool:) The reviews you see here may reflect a few of our guests opinions and they are all important. But we serve more than 8000 people a week and that should be enough to assure you that the "cool" comments are all true! Please be sure that we address every instance differently as each instance has different circumstances that surround it. I can appreciate your comments but I can assure you that we will make the best decision possible in all aspects of our business. Thank you for your comments and I can assure you that both your feet will have a good time at Stonefire Pizza Company.

My wife has been treated very poorly and unfairly by the mangement of this location. My family went to visit this establishment. The time prior, the lines were so long at check and sufficient staff wasn't available at the registers so we left. The time prior to that, the service was terrible. We have found over time that the facility and quality of food offered has deterriorated. Instead of concentrating on keeping the facility up, they seem more inclined to keep adding various concessions and rides that require extra money.

This last experience is the one that really topped it off for us. My wife, myself, and our son went to check in at Stonefire. The line wasn't too long, but there was only one register open and it wasn't moving. Finally, after much time, a clerk opened a register. We were the next ones in line. The clerk ran my wife's debit card. There was a transaction error. It didn't decline, there was a problem with their cc processor. The clerk ran the transaction up again, same thing. We were frusterated after waiting about 20 minutes in line and our 4 year old son growing impatient. My wife told me to go to the buffet and she would catch up. The clerk went to consult with someone else, he came over, rang up the transaction again, and another transaction error. My wife was getting impatient, so she came over to me to get my debit card. I gave it to her and she went back to the cashier. She handed my debit card to the cashier and the cashier shook his head no and told her that they were doing a manager comp for the $16.46 balance because the the problems they were having and the long wait we had already had. (We had paid the other $30.00 in gift certificates). The clerk gave my wife a receipt for zero (and no other receipt), and she came over to me. She handed me back my debit card and I asked her how much was charged to it. She replied nothing they comped it due to the long wait and the problems they were having. She showed me the receipt for zero.

Everything seemed fine until my wife realized that SFP had processed two separate charges against her card for the $16.46 and obviously did not hold up their process of the comp. The extra charges caused multiple problems with the bank and the extra holds on her card resulted in numerous unavailable fund fees. Now, my wife taking time away from her job, went to the bank and worked out the fees. The bank could obviously see the error of stonefire pizza. It took a rep from Stonefire 4 days to return her call. She even called them from the bank while she was there.

After all of this the manager was condesending and refuses to uphold the comp that the clerk and the floor supervisor promised her. He says that the comp was for the 2nd or 3rd transacton whish is ridiculous given that my wife wouldn't have came to get my debit card to pay for the transaction two or three times. The transaction the clerk was compling was obviously the one he gave me the receipt for. A family of 3 would not have 3 separate transactions!

What I find most irritating is that my wife explained the issue to 5 people at Stonefire and only has been given a condesending offer of a $15.00 game card. My wife does not feel this is appropriate and only wants what was promised to her on our visit. We did not ask for the comp, we were offered it and it is unethical for Stonefire to go back on their word especially given the fact they issued a receipt to us for zero and authorized and charged my wife's debit card numerous times. She has not even received an apology for their inproper credit card processing.

We will take our business somewhere where they have ethics.

Managing Partner/Owner It is unfortunate that we could not resolve your family's issues in the way you would like. We did offer complimentary play and we understand you do not wish this. We collected funds from you for the services we provided and I can not stress how important it is to us to make sure you are treated fairly and with exceptional service. I will make sure the offer for open game play stays available for you and your family anytime you wish us to honor it. Thank you for your comments and your business and agian I am sorry that we were unable to resolve this together. Ted Cutting

Stonefire used to be a decent place to take your family, however, now it is just run down. There are many booths that are caked with sticky old food and even ripped open booths with the stuffing coming out that haven't even been temporaily reparied. The mangement and staff do not seem to care about the facility nor their guest's perception nor experience. The wait to get in the facility is often very long with only one register open. I have personally witnessed people leaving because of the long wait and have also left myself on one occassion. I have choosen to not bring my family back to this establishment in the future. When complaints are brought to the managements attention, they are left unresolved and they seem to have no care about their guests returning. The management seems more interested in creating a carnival atmosphere were every where you turn there is another opportuinity to spend more money (cotton candy machine, coin operated rides, etc....) instead of refining and keeping up the facility they had when they opened. I also agree with many of the other posts on here that say that the food has gone down hill. The pizza is very bland as well as the pasta. I also agree with the comment about the ice cream. I went up to the ice cream counter with a soup bowl and was told that they could not serve my ice cream in that dish. I explained that I wanted toppings and I didn't want them to run over the sides. The clerk refused anyway. I had tried it that way before and what I was left with was a big mess. So, instead, I had to have the ice cream served to me and scape it out of the miniture bowl and put it into a soup bowl so I could have some chocolate sauce. Pretty counterproductive right? Have fun washing extra dishes!

Managing Partner/Owner Thank you for giving me an opportunity to address your concerns here. I want to first tell you that you are "Absolutley right" about our booths. I will have them repaired this week and I can not tell you how important it is to us NOT to look run down or less then what we were. Now I would like to address your ice cream concern. I can understand your frustration here. The issue is that the small bowls help us keep the machine running correctly and give out a fair portion of ice cream. As much as I would like to serve them in a bigger bowl for you, the expense of filling those bowls and having half of it wasted would cause us to have to increase our buffet price. I wish you would give us another opportunity to serve you and let me personally show you all of our great improvements and the follow up I have done to your complaint. I will check into the cashier issues you commented on and see if there is a way we can speed them along for you and the rest of our guests. I appreciate your candor and I can promise you our staff is pleasant and our management cares. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Ted Cutting

This was my first and probably last experience at Stonefire, unless management is replaced. We attended a birthday party in September. When being served a slice of pizza, my 4 year-old son's armed was burned by a hot slice as the waitress dropped it on his bare arm. He is not a crier, and he was screaming, his arm was red. The response was awful, treated as "this sort of thing happens all the time"... and he was given 4 tokens as a "sorry". Unbelievable. The manager was finally called, we were brought some ice, and she took my info for an accident report. (The waitress also mentioned to me she was concerned she was being "written up", as if I gave a damn, I was blown away at the lack of concern for my son.) I was never contacted or mailed ANYTHING as a follow-up. That day playing later too, my son was pushed and was hurt in the play area, he was bleeding. (It looked like hard plastic stair he was pushed into.) I took him to the service area where I was treated with zero concern, I was just told "we don't carry any band-aids here now.". So we had to leave. Not before I talked to the manager again, I told her I believed it to be a violation to not have a well-equipped first aid kit on hand. I left angry, I still am angry. I plan to follow up with the Stonefire corporation if I don't hear anything by mail in the next couple weeks. Awful experience. And expensive on top of it. Steer clear.

Today I stopped there and noticed that the prices are higher again. Mommy and Me--$3.25 for all children even 6 month olds. $5.25 for adults. There is a very limited supply to chose from at the continental breakfast. and now I see the kids only get juice and a cracker. Their pizzas taste like card board, but for $5.99 lunch price I could handle it. It has now gone up to $8.50 for lunch and $5.99 for children which is too much for the quality of food they have.

Managing Partner/Owner Hello Edith, I want to first let you know that your comments are very important to me. I can tell you that if you ever walked into a continental breakfast that gave your children only juice and crackers I would never go back either. To my knowledge we have never done that. Our continental breakfast contains fresh backed scones, Danishes, fresh seasonal fruit and fruit cocktail, 4 choices of cereals, coffee/Tea and juice bar, and of course our Discovery Room for the children. Our pricing is still below our original pricing when we opened and we feature the 5.99 from time to time to offer relief to our guests in this downed economy. I am sure you will agree that you will never find, a fresh homemade soup bar, 21 item salad bar, 16 pizzas, Asian stir fry, Pasta bar, kiddy buffet station, and dessert station with fresh baked cookie, Icce Slushies, and ice cream sundaes anywhere in this state for 8.50 for lunch and 12.49 for dinner (2006 8.99 Lunch & 12.89 Dinner) Call me at 414 313 2777 to discuss this. Thanks for your comments again. Ted Cutting

I have been to Stonefire Pizza several times. It is a great place to take children. The various play areas in the 3-8 year old dining room make for a pleasant dining experience for all. Unfortunately some changes have occurred. In the three to eight year old dining room they have added riding toys--removing block building. The rides are fine--except the children come begging for money. These young children shouldn't have to pay to ride in the dining room. The game room is the pay zone.

The food quality has gone down hill. The chicken buffalo pizza had no chicken and no buffalo sauce. The pasta dishes that claim to have chicken--have almost no chicken in them. The food is lacking in flavor. The breadsticks are now 1/2 the size. The icee machine has been moved to the dessert section. You have to ask for your dessert. The girl fills your ice cream bowl so full--that when you add the toppings they drip over the bowl. The bowl needs to be bigger/the serving a little smaller/or let the customer serve themselves and plan their own dessert.

The choices for the children have gotten fewer. They offer mac and cheese, spaghetti, and nachos. What happened to the chicken nuggets and mini-corn dogs?

The workers are very nice and helpful!!

The cost is rather expensive--especially with the food options getting poor.

Business Response:

Your Review. Greetings, I am very disappointed you had a bad experience at StoneFire. We have many great things going on at this time. We have Daily Deals, Nightly Food Specials, and we are testing out new equipment. We are in the process of producing a Tiny Town where youngsters have more options. The rides in the Discovery Play is a test to see our response. We have had some negative comments, such as yours, however many have raved about it and happen to love the idea. I am not sure why the choices for the kids were not out... possibly at the time you arrived they were making more... those items are still on our menu. Now the dessert station situation it is all for our cost reasons. You can get as many as you want it just may not be a big size; so grab two! We want to keep our quality in tack so we need to control our waste a little bit more. I can assure you were back at high standards and you should check us out again. Please contact me APrida@StoneFirePizzaCo.com as I would like to give you a special offer. Thank you!

I'm very surprised to see such high ratings for Stonefire Pizza in New Berlin, WI. While this restaurant has many positives, it falls far short of my expectations. I do question the motives of all the other reviewers that give this place a perfect 5-rating.

Interestingly, the place does seem to be popular. So popular that I ended up having to wait 45 minutes just to get a table and then another 5 minutes every time I got in line for the buffet. In my opinion, this is unacceptable.

To start things off, the decor of the restaurant is actually very good. From the entrance, you'll see beautiful rocks and plants that give the impression of a high quality restaurant with great food. Then, you proceed through the line to a glorified cash register that strongly resembles a ticket booth where you would buy admission to enter a theme park. In short, it's my opinion that the owners of this establishment decided to focus more on the entertainment than the food and I think it's a fatal flaw.

First, take a look at their website here:

http://www.stonefirepizzaco.com/

You'll notice that they describe their buffet as a "Luxury Buffet." It's a complete overstatement and I'll explain why:

1. The salad bar lacks key ingredients that a luxury buffet would include. For example, there are no croutons or bacon bits. No tomatoes. No shredded cheese.

2. The pizza's all taste surprisingly plain and boring. They are primarily discs of dough with a little dash of toppings on them. I'd take a premium frozen pizza from the grocery store over these pizzas any day. It's not that they taste bad, it's just that they taste extremely cheap and appear to be made with low quality ingredients.

3. There are two slushie machines that dispense a total of four flavors. Unfortunately, neither machine worked for the duration of my visit.

4. The Asian food looked so bad that I didn't even want to try it.

5. The ice cream bar was staffed by two people. Instead of dispensing ice cream from a machine, they had huge plastic bags full of ice cream, cut those bags open, and then scooped some out. Because these bags of ice cream were just sitting on the counter instead of inside a chilling machine, they were melting quickly. When I was handed my dish, the ice cream was already turning into a "white soup" and was running down the side of my dish, making my hands sticky in the process.

On a positive note, they did a good job with the chicken noodle soup. Additionally, the food items for the children were tasty (chicken nuggets, corn dogs, mac & cheese, etc).

Although I didn't spend any additional money on the entertainment, I did take a quick walk through to see what was offered. The games seemed a little pricey and the variety of games was somewhat limited. From an entertainment perspective, I'd give them a grade of B-. From a food quality perspective, I'd give them a grade of D+.

UPDATE on 10/11/2009:

The manager mailed me a $20 gift card to return and give them another try. I returned with a guest on 9/22/2009. Unfortunately, the $20 gift card was not enough money to cover dinner for the two of us, as the total came to $26.25, but nevertheless it still was a nice gesture of the manager.

I noticed a few differences.

First, there was no line to get in. There was no waiting. The place seemed extremely quiet. The day I attended was a weekday and was at night (7:26pm) while school was in session, so perhaps that had something to do with it.

Second, the Icee machines were no longer available to the general public. Instead, they were behind a counter near the deserts. Somebody at the counter offered me some, but it was in an ice cream dish. I think Icee's should be near the soda machines and served as a beverage, not a desert.

Third, the salad bar was much improved compared to my first visit. They had plenty of croutons and bacon bits (with REAL bacon - not the fake soy ones). I believe it also had tomatoes and cheese too. The entire salad bar tasted much better than I remember from my first visit. It was a big improvement.

Fourth, the pizza tasted better than from what I remembered during my first visit. I especially liked the baked potato pizza. The buffalo chicken pizza was good too, but it could use more buffalo sauce.

My overall experience was improved one compared to my first visit. Therefore, I am increasing my star rating from 2 stars to 4. If you haven't tried Stonefire Pizza, I suggest you give them a try just to see how you like it. The only thing I am still not happy about are the prices. $26.25 for a two-person buffet (after sales tax) still seems on the high side compared to Country Buffet and Golden Corral. I think $9-10.75/person would be a little more reasonable.

Oh my goodness, you are in for some fun. A great place to take the kids. There is buffet type food that is pretty good. There are several playrooms around the dining area including tubes like McDonalds, big lego building, painting faces and a kitchen a train room and even a water play table. On the other side are some chuck e. cheese type games, a ball room and bumper cars. Also mini bowling and a amusement park mini ride. A blast but bring your wallet!

The price is more than Chuckie Cheese, but the service and choices available are much better. Appropriate for bigger kids and the buffet is delicious.

We have enjoyed Stonefire several times. An upscale Chuckie Cheeses..more for bigger kids I'd say, although there is plenty for little tykes to do. The pizza bar, pasta bar and dessert bar are really good. My teens have a blast in the gameroom. We especially love the trivia game and air hockey.

We really enjoyed ourselves when we went there. My kids had an absolute blast!! They really liked playing all the games and getting all the tickets. It sure can get expensive though. You need to go there knowing you are going to spend money. The pizza was really good & the whole night was fun. We still have tickets we need to do something with from the games they played. We will have to go back.
