Reviews for K's Japanese restaurant

Ratings_icons Go try them for yourself.

JO B.

I am an avid sushi lover! Husband hates it. I find K's to be the comparable in price but seriously much better in quality and taste than all in the Western MA and parts of CT. We have tried several in Northampton, West Springfield, Hadley, Enfield, Cromwell, Springfield, etc... Trust me...we have tried them all. K's is really a very receptive family. They are gracious and always wanting to please the customer. I have never found them to impatient or "bothered" to serve you like West Springfield does. Talk about attitude at that place. I have never been eating my dinner at K's and had the foul smell of bleach fill the room as they do in Enfield when they bring out the bleach mop on several occasions to be able to leave early. Or how about when you are having a romantic dinner and they vac right under your feet. Enfield is very inappropriate with those habits. K's is respectful of their Diners. They are gracious and courteous and more than willing to go the extra mile. Try K's for yourself. I can't believe that any reasonable person wouldn't like their dining experience and love their food. The only two things that I would love to see K's do differently, is more steamed fresh veggies on the menu and the addition of brown rice to their menu. Other than those two things, I think they are spot on.

I've only been there once but my experience was really fun. We brought a friend who was celebrating her 40th birthday. I thought it would just be entertaining and food would just be OK. Not only was it entertaining but the food was really good. We had a blast and I would definitely go again.

Ratings_icons Great restaurant

I did not expect to like this restaurant because I thought that I would not like raw fish. I was pleasantly surprised when I finally decided to give it a try. The sushi and the grilled food was fantastic. The service was the best. The waiters and waitresses were attentive and friendly. This restaurant is a little pricey and I would not recommend it for children.

Ratings_icons Nearby Hibachi cooking

Diane N. | insider Insider | Rank: 21,345

K's in Wesfield serves sushi, Japanese, and Hibachi style food. My family enjoys the show cooking and my kids love the Japanese soda bottles with the little ball you have to push through the top. We have always had excellent food served to us and friendly service, especially on birthday nights, where you get to bang the gong and have your photo posted on the wall. We have not had the sushi, but are very happy with the other food. As with all hibachi places we have gone to, the price is high. We always have a cooking oil odor on our clothes after a visit to K's, which is not my favorite part of the experience. Considering the price of gas, it is well worth skipping Northampton and staying close to home.

K's Japanese restaurant is, like another reviewer said, fun for a large group, but it's a "been there, done that" kind of experience with the hibachi and cook at your table. I found the food to be about average.

Make the drive to Northampton and go to Osaka if you want Japanese tepan style cooking (cooked in front of you). The flavor here is not the best, and the service was below par.

Ratings_icons What a fun place!

I was pleasantly surprised by K's! This is a great place to go with groups of friends, the chefs will keep you occupied by cooking on the table in front of you. The food tastes fresh, I highly recommend the salmon. The prices are pretty expensive though, but if you are looking for fun night out this is worth it.

I'm reading the mixed reactions of the inside dining experiences here at K's. I guess we play it safe. My husband gets sushi to go about twice a month. It's his 2nd favorite place...

My family and I have been here a few times. The first several times our experience has been great. The food was good and so wasn't the chef. The last few however have not been anything to write home about. The food was okay and the cook was pretty lame (maybe he was having a bad night). I have found however that the prices are pretty high for what you get. Not sure if I will go back.

I felt that the quality of food the night we ate it was not the greatest. Maybe it is because we did take out and that effected the quality. Nest time we will try it there instead.

Ratings_icons overpriced for takeout, great dining in

Nick M. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,599

we ordered take out for a 4 person family and found that the portions were way undersized. I have a small appetite and I left the table hungry. Too pricey for the size of the portions. Wouldn't do take out, but heard great things about dining in!

Ratings_icons Disappointed

Bob C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 8,262

My first experience with K's was much better than my last. Our cook was obviously preoccupied while performing for us. He was very sloppy and most people at our table were visibly captivated by the other cook. As well, our rice had a chemical taste to it. They did replace the rice cooked in the kitchen but we left with a bad taste in our mouths and may never go back again.

Ratings_icons Bad second trip

Anonymous

Our first visit went well so we made special arrangements to go again on New Year's Eve. We made reservations and showed up twenty minutes early. We were finally seated at about 7:10 and were squished into a table set up for 11. Unfortunately, the tables are big enough for no more than 9. Our neighbors were so close to us that we were all limited to the use of one hand. If the potential poor conditions were mentioned when we made the reservations we could have used one of our few nights out (baby at home) at a nicer place. Can't recommend K's because of this experience.

This is a small restaurant and the atmosphere is limited. However, the food has always been good. We bring the kids on a weeknight when it is less crowded. They always have a great time and eat well.

K's Japanese Restaurant was a lot of fun. They cook hibachi style right in front of you. The food is good, although the prices are high for an everyday Asian meal. You'll enjoy the atmosphere and experience as well as the food. Its worth going just to see the water wall!

The kids love watching the chefs cook right in front of them. The have fun trying to catch the food in their mouth as the chefs flip it too them. The food is great and you get a ton of it. Don't fill up as they serve the food because more is coming.

We love to go to K's with our children. They love to watch the chefs cook right in front of us. The table side cooking is a little expensive, because you have to buy a full meal for all people at the table, but it is well worth it. Food is excellent and the service is as well.

Ratings_icons K's Japanese restaurant

Vanessa D. | insider Insider | Rank: 20,277

My kids were sad to see the cheap all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet go, but my husband and I, who lived in Japan for a while, were THRILLED that Westfield finally got a sushi restaurant. And we were not disappointed. K's has been completely redecorated and is now an elegant night out (groups can have a festive time at the hibachi tables). The sushi is fresh and delicious. Great deals on lunch specials. And I agree with the other reviewer: coolest bathroom in town!

When I went there we had to wait longer than expected. The food was good but you did not get as much as the same type of restaurant called the Goten. I would go there again because it is closer.

this place gets the award for the coolest bathroom. Frosted glass, mood lighting, aromatherapy... I suggest going even if you don't have to "go" and the water wall in the dining room is almost as good as the sushi

I had dinner a K's for the first time. It was a different dining experience they cooked the food on the hibachi grill in front of you, and the staff was very friendly. Service was a little slow for a Thursday night, but overall it was a great dining experience.

They have good sushi, although if you don't eat shellfish the menu is very limited. The service can also be a little slow at times. But otherwise it is a good choice if in the Westfield area

What a fun way to spend a night. The food is excellent and the entertainment is great. You can't miss the hibachi grill performance. A little pricey compared to a family restaurant, but well worth it for the experience. Make sure to let your kids try the marble soda, they'll want to go back just for that!

A fun and different dining experience. K's, Hibachi and Sushi Bar on one side, or a restaurant on the other. The Hibachi Bar is a great place for birthdays, parties, etc. Food is prepared and cooked in front of diners, very entertaining! A little pricey, but a fun evening!
