My son started Adath Israel preschool this past September. We couldn't be happier. The school is wonderful, the teachers and administration are so caring and nurturing. When I came to pick my son up after being ill, everyone asked me how I was feeling. The parents are warm and very friendly. Every other place I've ever been to on the Main Line the people won't even say hello to you if they don't know you. Adath Israel's parents are welcoming and just nice people. We are orthodox and even though the school is in a conservative synagogue they bend over backwards to make sure everything is kosher. My son has been taught about all the jewish hoiidays, about shabbos, and can sing Hebrew songs.
I can't say enough good things about the preschool. I'm sending my son to camp there this summer and he's going to go full time to the preschool this coming Fall.

We had one child graduate from Adath Israel Preschool and Kindergarten and another child is currently in the school -- we love the school! Adath Israel is warm, nurturing, friendly and fun, and the children get a fabulous education at the same time. My first child started Adath at the age of 2 and after going to Adath through the Pre-First class, she was far ahead of her first-grade peers, both academically and socially. She still loves to visit Adath and get hugs from her wonderful teachers. My 3 year-old is similarly having a wonderful experience at Adath and looks forward to going to school every day. The staff is experienced, kind, caring and loving. The director is second to none -- she knows every student and parent by name and has constant interaction with the students and parents. She is always open and available for comments, questions, concerns and suggestions. We are so happy to have a warm and nurturing environment that our children consider their home away from home!

Adath Israel Preschool and Kindergarten is a top-notch school where children and their families are given personal and caring attention. The classes are small and the children are provided with stimulating and innovative instruction as well as with a wealth of fun activities. The kindergarten and pre-first classes are more than well-prepared for first grade. They learn about subjects ranging from the human body, to different countries and cultures to the environment, etc.The Director and teachers are always available to answer questions and concerns no matter how trivial. You truly feel as you are part of a family at this school. Parents are friendly and welcoming. After checking out other preschools and kindergartens in the area, there is no other place where I would have rather sent my two children. I know I will be sad when they leave to move on to grade school.

Adath Israel has its good and bad points. Some teachers are great. Some are not so great. One in particular is very cruel and screams and must be avoided for your child. The director does not care about the children, and no one likes her. The facility is nice, the rooms are well stocked, but the curriculum is quite skimpy. There are four year olds who have play only days - no begining letters or math or anything. Many parents are nice, many are not, and will never say hello or acknowledge your existence. There's no diversity, and nothing is taught about other cultures. It's very insular. I'd avoid it if only for the few rotten apple teachers and the terrible director.

The Adath Israel Preschool is a warm and nurturing place with an extraordinary staff of committed and experienced educators. We are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Through a developmentally appropriate Jewish early childhood program, all children receive hands-on experiences that promote individual growth.

We have Playgroups for toddlers; half-day and full-day Preschool; and accredited kindergarten and Pre-First programs.

For the Playgroup and Preschool classes, parents have the flexibility of choosing the days and hours of weekly attendance. We are extremely accomodating to each family's needs. Early and Late extended care is also available.

Our Pre-First class is an all-day kindergarten program geared to those children who miss the cut-off date for first grade or whose parents feel their children would benefit from an extra year before first grade. Adath Israel is the only Jewish center in the area with such a class.
