Texas Palominos Ranch Buffet

This restaurant would be okay, but not for the high price they charge. For that kind of price I would expect the food quality to be much higher. It's very middle of the road on everything except price. The food was okay - not horrible, not great. The cleanliness was okay - not horrible, not great. The atmosphere was okay - not horrible, not great. I think you get the idea. For most of that I would give 3 out of 5 stars. But the extra high price knocked it down to 2 stars.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of my father's. I got online, read the reviews, decided we couldn't go wrong. The price of the buffet is $10.49/person (not including a beverage) on Saturday evenings. I felt this was a little pricey, but I know you pay a little more for a buffet. I expected a salad bar with all the fixings...what I found was not that at all. I was greeted by a swarm of gnats. I was having to "shoo" them away in order to get to the limited salad trimmings. The fruit bar, smelled of something spoiled, and a worker was replenishing the watermelon with her bare hands. That's right folks...no gloves, no tongs, nothing. The pork ribs were so tough that they could not be pulled apart, much less eaten. The mashed potatoes had huge lumps that had to be chewed, and the other items we tried were very bland and flavorless. I ended up eating a salad (lettuce, onion, olives, and dressing) for $10.49. My mom had two bites of her salad and a roll. When we got to our table, we were never greeted by a waitress. I assumed it was a serve yourself type of place (which I am fine with). I just couldn't figure out who people were leaving tips on the table for. Then I realized, other tables were being "waited" on...getting drink refills, clearing used plates, etc. We were finally greeted by a waitress while I was filling out the comment card to hand to the manager. When we described our experience to the manager, he never even apologized. For the price of our meal, we could have eaten at a well known steak house, had customer service, and left feeling satisfied. I say keep your money in your pocket, and head down the street to another place!!

My husband and I meet there for our lunch on occasion. We always have a good experience there. The food is good and there is a lot of variety. The quality is definitely better than Golden Corral. I love the grill, there is always a variety of grilled meats and fresh grilled jalapenos. The price is reasonable for the quality and amount of food you have access too. I DO recommend Texas Palominos.

I have gone to two of the locations and they both are about the same. This buffet is above your typical Golden Corral. The food is a hit or miss where some items are really good and others are just so-so. They have much more entrees then the average but the salad bar could be better. If your hungry and want alot for your money than try it out.

Texas Palominos Ranch Buffet is a great value for your dinner money. It's almost overwhelming when you first walk in because there is so much to choose from. Everything is fresh and hot and full, which you will be when you leave!

Really good food for the price and the variety beats other buffet style restaurants. The always fresh offerings at the salad bar will keep you coming back for seconds but leave room for the main dishes.You wont be disappointed with the brisket or marinated steak. Side dishes are better than most, don't miss the sweet potato casserole. Dessert items are average, but don't let that stop you from trying this overall great buffet, you'll be back.

Texas Palominos offers as they claim, a "Vegas Style" buffet experience. And the buffet does not disappoint. The food is always prepared fresh and the high traffic keeps the food coming out of the kitchen.

I would recommend their steak nights and seafood night. Their grille section has some of the best steaks and grilled chicken around.
