Open Arms Child Care Center

My child has been full-time for a few years now. From my experience, I can say that Open Arms is a nice, clean, state-of-the art facility with a webcam (great feature!). It is a bit on the pricey side, however, they do have nice activities for the children and are very ingenious with their summer activties/schedules. I can say my child is never bored.

Most of the teachers are decent and caring. There are a few that are better than others. It's really a personal preference.

I can certainly say there are parents that are NOT impressed with a particular substitute teacher at the facility who constantly sits and watches the children (if not staring out the door or window). The sub. rarely interacts with the children. It's difficult to pay such a high tuition and receive this type of service in return. Overall, Open Arms needs to do a better job with finding more suitable and qualified substitutes. For this reason, I give this facility an overall rating of three stars - satisfactory.

Other than that, we are pleased with the facility.

My Child went to a summer program here. There was plenty for him to do and he was very comfortable with the staff. Everything was very well planned out for the kids and it was nice and tidy in there. Yhe only thing was it was a bit pricey.

Both of my children went to Open Arms for a combination of Day Care, Pre-School and Pre-K. It is a wonderful facility and we never had a problem with the staff.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I have had 2 children attend here. Some of the staff are wonderful and every morning it was so comforting knowing this was where my child was. Other staff members were very unreliable with sharing important information with other teachers that would be interacting with my child. The director is wonderful and was always there to answer a question or address a concern. I don't like how they nickel and ime you on everything! You pay enough and then on a vey few occassions if you were late then you were charged. Never did you receive a break for the many days of picking up early. When my children started attending half day, I found one of the classroom teachers to not put as much into the day sheets or comment that much on his day.

Open Arms is a wonderful place for kids to be kids. They are great teachers who really care about their students. The are accredited by NAEYC Academy for Early Childhood Program Accreditation and offer a good education for young children. They also have an Internet viewing system if you just have to see your child when you are at work.
