I knew which engagement ring I wanted to purchase for my girlfriend long before I planned on purchasing them and proposing. During one of my live chat sessions with a specialist (awesome feature), she mentioned that the rings were going to be going up in price in a few days. I didn't have the money to make the purchase at that time and was very upset, but she told me that I could lock in the current price and work out a payment plan! It was amazing!

On top of that, I worked with a great rep the entire time, and she was an absolute doll to work with. She was genuinely interested in my relationship with my girlfriend and was in contact often.

I highly recommend Brilliant Earth to anyone. Period.

I can't say one bad thing about this place! Ryan is who I have been talking to for a year and half now. My engagement ring came from here and now our wedding bands too! We love the service we've gotten. They have been nothing but nice and accommodating! Ryan is very knowledgable and makes sure that every question we have is answered! I recently purchased our wedding bands and unfortunately have to send back mine for a resize(not their fault) but he has been more than willing and able to help me out with it! It's been a lot easier so far than I thought it would be!

I love BE and would be more than happy to be a repeat customer and recommend them to my friends and family!! I get TONS of compliments on my ring from friends, family, acquaintances, and even my patients! I am more than sure we went with the right place to get our rings! :)

What a great place. I've never bought an egagement ring before and I lucked out by having a great help me. She was very patient and I believe, went above and beyond for me. I live in Houston so handled everything via phone and email. When I narrowed down the setting and diamond, she had the couple diamonds I was interested in shipped to her store and she took photos for me so that I could see what they looked like. She then happen to have the setting I wanted and took a photo of the diamond sitting on top of the setting and even put it on to let me see the size comparison when worn. I doubt I would have gotten such service in most other places, especially those chains. Anyhow, I proposed about 1.5 weeks ago and thankfully she said yes. Possibly due in part to the beauty of the ring I got from this great company!

I have been blown away by the quality and service at Brilliant Earth. I first bought an engagement ring 2 years ago after an exhaustive search for the right diamond at the right price. I bought a simple solitaire as a temporary setting knowing that my girlfriend would want to choose her own setting style. The diamond was a beautiful 2ct cushion shape and the B.E. salesperson even talked me down from a more expensive option that wasn't getting us anything extra for the money. Exchanging the temporary setting was refreshingly painless. My fiance then chose the Platinum Victorian halo setting which I must admit was a beautiful complement to the diamond.

Fast forward 18 months and it was time to buy wedding bands. My fiance wanted to get a wedding band that would be nice enough to stand on its own if she decided not to wear her engagement ring for any given occasion. We ended up doing a custom band with pave diamonds which matched her engagement ring perfectly. I had a harder time making a decision for my wedding band. I wanted to do a 5mm version of the platinum matte beveled edge wedding band with grooves (the standard is 6mm) and this change was very easy to do. When we got the rings, I noticed that mine was a little too big - I think the local jewelry store where I was measured made a mistake. Once again, resizing the ring with B.E. was painless.

Now after the dust has finally settled on all of the wedding madness, I can look back and say that our Brilliant Earth experience was far and away the best service we received from any vendor for our wedding. I am a stickler for details and they got everything right from the details of the jewelry to the exceptional service, and even the beautiful sustainable packaging. I am rarely inspired to write a positive review (and must admit, a bit quicker to write a negative one when dissatisfied) but this company is worth it. Shop here and you won't regret it.

I am very satisfied with the service that Brilliant Earth has provided me. I am not a gem expert, but I did my research on gem quality and what to expect from the information that was provided online and picked out a diamond that fit my budget and had superb quality. There were so many excellent styles of settings, but found the perfect simplistic version that I felt would show off the diamond the best. Once completed I purchased the ring and within about two weeks the ring was in my hands. I even got it checked at the local jewelry store (for free) and they verified that the GIA report was valid. So in the end it looked absolutely stunning and I love it and know my (hopefully) future wife will love it too when I give it to her.

One main reason why I have given the site 5 stars is I bought the ring a tad bit early from when I was planning on giving it to my girl. So I called up and asked if it would be a problem (while the ring was in production) and they told me that they had a special promotion for over the holidays that extends their 30 day return policy into January. Even though I did not order the ring within this promotion, they still allowed me to enter into it. So one recommendation for future buyers is to ensure that the time window allocated by Brilliant Earth matches your schedule for giving the ring.

Another reason is they offered yet another promotion while my ring was being shipped that allowed me to get $100 off wedding bands (which I plan on picking with my (hopefully) future wife). Even though I missed this promotion by a couple days, they still allowed me to have it.

So to sum it up the things I loved about the company are:
1) Amazingly beautiful quality ring/diamond
2) Fast service (once made, the ring was shipped and in my hand the day they estimated on the site)
3) Excellent customer service by allowing me to enter into the promotions even after I ordered (also the people I talked to were very patient and considerate)
4) Conflict free diamonds with documentation
5) I love the box that the ring is in. Not traditional felt box that most rings I see are presented in, but a very original wooden box, which I am sure my (hopefully) future wife and I will treasure for the rest of our lives.

If you are patient, do your research, and ensure your timing is correct, then this company is the place to go. Supports an excellent cause, and produces excellent quality.

When I began looking for an engagement ring, I went to the usual spots (Tiffany, etc.). I routinely felt pressured to look at rings that were either out of my price range or not the style that I was looking for. Brilliant Earth was a breath of fresh air in my hunt for the perfect engagement ring.

Working with Beth at Brilliant Earth was a pleasure. She always promptly responded to emails and phone calls. She guided me through the process of choosing a ring and taught me about the diamonds that I was looking at. Most importantly, perhaps, the Brilliant Earth showroom is private. It is just you and the salesperson -- you can feel free to ask questions and just be yourself!

I eventually fell in love with the style of the estate engagement rings that they have. Our hundred year old engagement ring is in immaculate condition and just what I wanted.

I highly recommend scheduling a visit at the Brilliant Earth showroom. I am so happy with how I was treated, the process of purchasing such an important piece of jewelry, and the ring on my fiance's finger.

I was both excited and skeptical when I went into Brilliant Earth for the first time. It's a bit annoying to have to set up an appointment (already a commitment), the parking's not so hot, and when you combine a commodity with a "value system" you're likely to get a speech. I was really impressed with the way I was treated, and the selection. While most diamond shops may have 2-3 stones in the size you're looking for, Brilliant Earth had six in the narrow carat range I was interested in. They could also give me specifics on other similar stones for order, and a delivery time of just a day (I had to wait a week to have a stone sent from another jeweler at another shop). The importance of having a variety of stones on hand cannot be under appreciated; it can save you hundreds of dollars if you know what characteristics are most important to you. The stones themselves were at or above expectations in terms of clarity, cut, and color; and the pricing was really reasonable.

my husband found Brilliant Earth online after i asked him please not to buy a diamond someone had to die for. i didn't think i really wanted a diamond ring but i am now totally in love with the gorgeous sparkly stone he picked out and the perfect classic setting (we picked the 6 prong). i had to send the engagement ring back for resizing and so we took advantage of the one free resetting to get a slightly more comfortable fit (my ring started with the traditional knife-edge band; i switched to the comfort band) - what a great service. Senior Jewelry Specialist Danielle worked with me tirelessly to find the right setting and fit for my diamond, taking photos at the showroom for me so i could see all the settings on a real hand and with wedding bands - i didn't even ask for this, she just offered. she kept in touch with me faithfully through the whole process.

our wedding bands as well are from Brilliant Earth and we love love love them. the wedding band looks great with my engagement ring. i absolutely recommend BE to anyone in need of rings. i am so pleased that my husband found a company which fit so well with the values of local, recycled, sustainable that we worked to include in our big day - i love him all the more for it. i cannot recommend BE and Danielle highly enough - she is by far the best customer service person i have ever had the pleasure to work with. thank you!

I was worried about supporting the diamond industry and its unethical practices, but I still wanted a gift that my girlfriend could look at everyday. My fiance and I live in MT, and after unsuccessfully looking in local jewelry stores for an engagement ring that suited both our taste and our budget, I noticed an ad for Brilliant Earth on Facebook. We were interested in a Canadian diamond. I had a look at their webpage and noticed that they had a showroom (by appointment) in SF. I contacted them by email and set up an appointment to coincide with a trip we were planning to visit family in the area. What a great experience it turned out to be! We drove into the city and found nearby parking with no problem. A gal met us in reception and escorted us to a private room with numerous loose diamonds that she had selected for us to view based off of email discussons of our parameters. She was extraordinarily knowledgable and made the whole experience really fun for both of us. There was none of the high pressure sales technique that we had experienced in other stores. We selected a stone that I absolutey love. She was great at taking what were really just our impressions and "gut feelings" about a stone and explaining the underlying structural characteristics that gave the stone the qualitites to which we were responding. We learned a lot, and ended up with "The One". It is an absolutely gorgeous ring. I can't stop staring at it, and it sparkles like nothing I've ever seen! Thanks Brilliant Earth! - Heather and Paul

When my fiancee and I first began to talk about rings, I told him I'd be happy with anything but hoped it would be conflict-free, if possible. He proposed to me with a beautiful ring from Brilliant Earth! It's perfect and the diamond is gorgeous. The company sent a certificate of origin, with detailed information about the mine's environmental protection practices, labor and safety practices, and community programs.

We decided to purchase our wedding bands from the company as well, and through every step of the process the customer service was extremely professional, kind, and personal. I had the chance to visit the San Francisco showroom, which was comfortable and intimate. Our bands arrived yesterday and I can't wait for my fiancee and I to wear them! It feels great to know that our purchases support ethical and environmentally conscious practices, not to mention a unique and innovative company.

It was really important for us to get a conflict-free diamond, preferably from Canada. I was sold on buying from BE, but I found the setting that I wanted, and that my girlfriend's best friend approved of, on another web site. We found a great ring, and paired it with a fantastic blue sapphire. I recently purchased a wedding set from Brilliant Earth, and my experience with them was as good as I could hope for. I was able to work out a lay-away plan, so that I could pay for the rings gradually and guarantee that they wouldn't be sold to another customer. When I had finally finished my payment, I had the rings in hand within two days. Even getting them re-sized was easy. They re-sized the rings for free, and then sent them back about a week later. The best part is Brilliant Earth is environmentally-friendly and is dedicated to ethical practices. I highly recommend Brilliant Earth. In fact, if I need to buy any other jewelry in the future, it will probably be from them.

After learning about the diamond trade, we knew that we wanted conflict free rings. Brilliant Earth is the first website that comes up. This place is a true treasure to the Bay Area and I would recommend seeing their showroom if you are in the area. We live an hour away and decided to make it a day trip to SF. This place offers everything from custom designed rings to estate rings. I already had one of their wedding bands in mind but found a ring that I absolutely fell in love with. It ended up being an estate ring and after checking out the ring on the website later that day, it wouldn't have been one that caught my interest. Being able to try on the rings and see it sparkle was mesmerizing! Listening to Ryan talk about the company's ethics justified every reason why we were there. We felt right at home from the moment we were greeted at the front door. Both of us found the rings we want to wear for the rest of lives at this place. This day at Brilliant Earth has become very special to us.

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend from Brilliant Earth, and I don't regret the decision at all. I ended up starting there actually because the promise of conflict free diamonds and recycled gold, silver, and platinum bands seemed kindof neat, and my girlfriend and I are into the whole environmentalism thing.

I decided to try the "make your own engagement ring" option, which I'd always liked the idea of, because I've just never been satisfied with a lot of the ones that I've seen. It was very easy to choose the setting, the stone and the band, and the price was within what I was expecting to spend on an engagement ring. So under careful scrutiny I picked out all the details and designed the ring, I thought it looked great, but I just wasn't positive yet.

I left the page up on my computer for about a week, and every time I came in from a bad day at work, I'd see the ring and smile. Once I realized that just looking at the ring made everything feel right, I decided I had to get it.

After placing the order I received a personal confirmation email from their gemologist, who told me that "the ring is beautiful!" and was very polite. When I had issues accepting the delivery a Brilliant Earth employee sent me an email offering help before I'd even thought it might have been a problem.

Moral of the story: Ethical and environmentally friendly company with fine products and fantastic customer service.

She was very patient and helped with our decision and I could not be more happy with our purchase! I will certainly suggest BE to others looking for rings or any other jewelry. As someone who has spent the better part of the last decade living/working/studying in and for Africa, I've seen first hand the social and environmental consequences of mining for diamonds and other precious minerals in Africa. My (now) fiancee had dropped a few hints to me about Brilliant Earth and that they specialized in conflict-free stones. Thinking that it would then lead to a conflict-free marriage, how could I deny such a place? Even though they were across the country, I trusted that I would offer a helping hand in my quest for the perfect ring without even seeing it. Thankfully, one of their customer service reps was kind enough to lend her expertise, time, and super-heroinism to my cause and helped me in those areas that stereotypical men such as myself are lacking. Although I am still convinced that my fiancee mainly said "yes" due to the sparkling stone that I provided, the experience gave me enough confidence to then go back to the same rep when it came time for the wedding bands. Although my ideal wedding band would be in the form of a gospel choir, the two that her and I selected will happily suffice. I'll be sure to go back to her and the rest of the Brilliant Earth crew for all of my future weddings!

In all seriousness, the only aspect that is better than the stones being conflict-free is the unparalleled service that I received over the course of two orders!

I purchased the Lotus necklace for my daughter for Christmas this year. She saw it on the website and mentioned how pretty it was. I have to say I'm always a little nervous about buying jewlery on line, but I did because I knew she would like it. I was so happy I did. First, the delivery was very fast and was very happy I had to sign for it and not left on my doorstep. Second, it was packaged so beautifully!! Third and most important the quality of the necklace. My engagement ring is from Brilliant Earth. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a ring made from recycled metals and a conflict-free, ethically sourced stone, so Brilliant Earth was an obvious choice. I chose the Antique Scroll ring and it is stunning - I couldn't ask for anything more beautiful. The quality of the ring is excellent, and the filigree details on the band make it truly unique. I get so many compliments on it! We ordered online and were very pleased with the customer service and easy-to-use website. I can't imagine having a better experience than this. Trusted, thoughtful, and fun throughout the entire process. You get to make a private appointment to review the rings and diamonds, and opportunity to ask as many questions as you like (and return for as many follow-on visits as needed). The rings themselves were some of the best and most elegant designs I had seen anywhere. All the ring designs are custom made for Brilliant Earth, and they will also make a custom design just for you.

I recently got an engagement ring for my girlfriend (now fiance!) and decided to get it at Brilliant Earth after going to what felt like every other jewelry store in the city. I knew exactly what I wanted (a round yellow diamond in a halo setting), and every other place I went to said I wouldn't be able to find a round yellow diamond because they don't hold their color well. Both my now fiancee (yay!) and I had a wonderful experience with Brilliant Earth. I ordered the ring online after what seems like an eternity spent on researching all about their diamonds, which are all really great picks, believe me, I spent a LOOOOONG time researching diamonds and looking for that perfect one.

Initially, my only wish was that it would be certified conflict free. Finally, once I found something that just felt right, I made the big step. The Brilliant Earth sales rep, my guide through this journey was absolutely wonderful, and was more than understanding when I mentioned that through all the diamond searching, I had neglected to accurately measure my fiancee's ring finger.

Thus, Brilliant Earth's policy of a 30 day resize, no questions asked was a pleasant surprise. Again they kept me posted on everything that needed to be done and how long it would take. We got the resized ring back 5 days later and it is stunning.

My first experience with Brilliant Earth was last March. When an fantastic (but time-sensitive) proposal opportunity suddenly came up for my significant other, Prudence, it didn't take long for me to find Brilliant Earth. Up until that point I had frequently felt guilty about the idea of buying diamond jewelry from any establishment. But when I learned of Brilliant Earth, I was quickly taken by their policies regarding ethically sourced and conflict-free diamonds and gems (and even learned a thing or two about sapphire mining issues as well!).

I was living in Orlando at the time, and Danielle guided my nervous self through that first purchase via phone and email with patience, expertise, and a comforting sense of humor. Though Prudence's proposal spot was poorly lit when I went down on one knee, the dazzling quality of her sapphire engagement ring still managed to make it sparkle. My fiancee loves that the diamonds and the sapphire in the ring are ethically sourced and that the metal is recycled, and has proudly pointed out those facts to others. The icing on all of this is that I still catch her gazing at the ring when the lights catch it just so (which is often).

This week I made my second purchase with Brilliant Earth: a combination Valentine's/just-because gift of sapphire earrings for her. Another rep, who helped me with the financing aspect of the first one, guided me through the whole process this time. Less than 48 hours after that first call, the earrings had traveled across the country from San Francisco to my location on the eastern shore of Maryland. The only way they could possibly process these stunning items faster would be by engineering a sci-fi matter transporter.

Prudence and I are absolutely thrilled with Brilliant Earth, from the quality of their products, to the friendly expertise of their staff, to the inspirational integrity of their mission. We're contacting them again soon to help set up our wedding bands!

Brilliant Earth made the difficult process of choosing the right ring easy. The customer service was some of the best I have dealt with. They provided quick responses and when I had to call and change my shipping address there was little to no wait. The ring was perfect and even better than I had imagined it to be. I made my first purchase from Brilliant Earth for this Valentine's Day. It was their silver heart pendant with diamond. The pendant was gorgeous and my girlfriend loves it and hasn't taken it off. She was impressed with Brilliant Earth, their conflict free diamonds and their philanthropic efforts to help African communities that have been negatively affected by the diamond industry.

I was contacted, personally, by customer service at Brilliant Earth, informing me that the pendant was shipped and and that they wanted confirmation when I received the pendant. It was a nice touch from the typical standard shipment letter most other businesses send to customers.

I came to Brilliant Earth because I was searching for an engagement ring for my girlfriend. She was adamant about the fact that she wanted her ring to be CERTIFIED conflict-free. After looking around at different stores I was starting to be doubtful that I would find a ring within my budget that met my girlfriend's standards.

Thank God for Brilliant Earth! I worked with an associate and we talked on the phone and I told him what my budget was. Not only was he committed to helping me find the perfect Sapphire ring, but he even went the extra mile of emailing some pics of stones that weren't on the website and very much within my budget. I picked out beautiful Australian Sapphire as well as a gorgeous setting made from Canadian diamonds and recycled metals. Even the box the ring came in is recycled wood and very classy looking. All of this and they donate 5% of every purchase to Africa in order to stop Blood Diamond practices. The ring is absolutely stunning and rest assured, my fiance and I will be heading back there to by our bands!

This company is truly in a class all by itself.

Terrific customer service and product! I recently purchased a wedding band for my fiance. He normally does not like wearing jewelry so he was very specific about what he wanted - something comfortable, not too flashy but still nice looking. I got him an 18K yellow gold, half domed with a matte finish. He was very pleased which made me happy. Plus the price was reasonable and BE offered free shipping via FedEx. Very beautiful packaging btw. Danielle from BE was very responsive to my inquiries and she emailed me about the shipping as well as followed up.

I felt good purchasing from this company also because they practice environmentally sound business practices by using recycled gold. Before I read about it on their website, I had no idea how destructive the usual procedure to mine gold really was.

Great company from which to purchase wedding bands! Highly recommended.

I am a guy. I do not like to shop, and I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to buying jewelry (although I like to think I know what looks nice). Luckily my (now) fiancee showed me Brilliant Earth's website awhile back. I emailed myself the link about 6 months ago, and proposed last weekend in Big Sur with the most beautiful halo sapphire platinum ring with side stones you ever did see, purchased at BE.

First, if you're reading reviews here you already know that the stones here are all conflict free, huge. Recycled metals and portion of profits donated to the fight against the blood diamond trade, radical. Customer service, seriously top notch. Ryan was incredibly helpful, and was in contact with me while the ring was being made. He told me it would be shipped in 2 weeks, and it only took 12 days, in time for the trip to Big Sur. Bonus.

I could not imagine what the process would be like to go to one of the chain jewelry stores out there. But, I don't have to imagine! The place is by appt. only, just you and the BE employee. They give you their undivided attention and don't try to up sell.

Some may think I am a fool for going to one shop and buying the first ring that I loved for me-lady. But, I feel like a genius. I bought the most gorgeous ring ever, it was a simple and painless process, and now I'm marrying the bestest lady ever.

My fiance found Brilliant Earth when searching for non conflict diamonds. Unfortunately we live in Florida & no one cares about anything here, so he purchased the engagement ring through Brilliant Earth online. He called them a few times to help pick the best ring & they were very helpful. And I LOOOOOOVE my ring! Its so shiny & pretty & I have no guilt about it because its not a blood diamond!

We love the engagement ring soo much that we purchased our wedding bands from BE too. I just got them & they are so beautiful! I worked with Danielle who was super helpful in answering my many questions & sent me photos so I could compare different rings from across the country.

BE is the best! Quality conflict free diamonds & super customer service!

I would HIGHLY recommend them!

MY (now) fiance and I had a fantastic experience here. She did not know what she wanted, so we made an appointment and had a full hour to try on all sorts of rings. Danielle on staff was fantastic, knowledgeable, honest, and just let the beautiful jewelry sell itself. Honestly, I thought the staff was so good I was set on buying from them after just a few minutes.

On top of that, the opportunity to design my own ring was perfect and Danielle really helped me piece together what I thought my fiance shared regarding her likes, and Danielle added in her perspective from the detailed notes she had taken from our appointment.

All of that would be enough to have me recommend the place, but to have the social conscience component is an incredible add-on. Going further then simply "conflict-free" but a focus on fair wage and labor practices in the mines, it was the perfect place for this newly engaged couple.

I received a gorgeous sapphire ring from my husband on the occasion of our 35th wedding anniversary. We found Brilliant Earth on the internet and liked what they stand for. So, we read other reviews and then contacted them. They were VERY helpful, sending us pictures of the stones they had available and suggesting different settings. We recieved the ring a few weeks after placing the order. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I absolutely love my ring!

My husband and I purchased my engagement ring together. We were looking for conflict free diamonds and environmentally friendly manufacturing. We work hard to live a green life. However, this ring is more stunning than it's non-ethical counterparts. The diamond is incredible, and the representatives were instrumental in finding the perfect choice. We love Brilliant Earth and recommend them to all our friends, even those that don't care as much about the mission.

Nearly 6 months ago, my husband and I had our first beautiful daughter, Eliza. Today was my first mother's day, which was exciting enough, but my husband decided to surprise me with gorgeous Brilliant Earth earrings. They're delicate and feminine, yet extremely noticeable. Not only are they stunningly beautiful, but the diamonds are conflict free. I feel lucky to be doubly blessed this Mother's Day!

If you want to make sure your proposal day and your ring are special and perfect, this is not the company for you.
We had the most awful experience with Brilliant Earth and while we were patient and willing to walk away or forgive for adequate compensation...they did neither!

I called Brilliant Earth about my idea for a custom engagement ring. I wanted my and my fiance's birthstones on the leaves instead of all diamonds. They said they would have no problem doing that and that custom rings took a few weeks longer than normal rings. We calculated out when I would need and I gave them the date plus about 3 days buffer in case something happened with shipping. They said they would no problem delivering that day and could probably get it to me sooner. They subsequently GUARANTEED delivery for that date which I thought was wonderful.

So life goes on for a week or so and I decide to contact them since I haven't heard anything back. I'm pretty nervous during this whole time planning all the other details of my proposal and want to make sure nothing bad happens. I ask them for a status and I'm told that everything is great and going well. I ask them again a few more times before the due date to double check and triple check and quadruple check everything is great...I consistently get the same message: everything is going great.

Little did I know that I was being lied to during this process. 3 days before it was due for delivery, they tell me they will need to recast the entire ring and it that they've been having terrible luck setting the birthstones. They tell me that there is no way they can make the guaranteed delivery date that they stated and this whole ring would go beyond their original estimate (that's a total of 4 weeks to get a ring which they obviously only started working on 4 days before it was due).

The best they can do is send me a temporary ring for my once in a lifetime engagement. When it arrives, it's the wrong size and doesn't even stay on my fiance's hand. I have to explain everything to her and she, although very upset with BE at this point, doesn't have a ring to show anyone that she is engaged.

Now they finally get around to shipping my custom ring and its wrong. In their mad rush to the ring to us, the person I ordered with hadn't even reviewed the ring before they sent it. When I called to talk to her she said it looked beautiful and lied to me about what it looked like. I then had to escalate to her manager who informed me that my original rep wasn't supposed to give me guaranteed dates and was supposed to have warned me about the custom ring process earlier. Great...I got shafted as a customer and apparently I was the one who should have known better.

The reparations they provided for screwing up a multi-thousand dollar ring was paltry. On their website they state that they have a commitment to quality and excellence and let me just say that its an outright lie. You can say everything you want but if your actions don't match it, then it's not true.

Save yourself the heartache and money and purchase from one of the many other conflict-free providers....99% of all diamonds in the world now follow UN's Kimberely Process.
