I worked with Brilliant Earth on my wedding band and they were amazing. Since I was working with them from DC and unable to come into the showroom, they tried similar engagement rings on with their wedding bands, and would send me pics. I would ask questions, give feedback, ask to see new things, etc and they always replied right away with a ton of patience and new pics.

We purchased the True Heart ring as my wedding band. I always wanted something of a vintage look and the hand-craved design is unique and exactly what I was looking for! Just bought a ring with my fiance from BE. We were both pretty nervous about buying online, but our concern that the jewelry be ethical in origin won out in the end. We did some research to find another way of getting an ethically sourced ring, but couldn't find anything that we were comfortable with. I really wanted a sapphire ring, and thankfully BE had plenty of those to choose from.

Their return policy is excellent, so we decided to take a chance. I'm so glad we did! The ring is more stunning in person than online. (Seriously, you should see this thing when the sun hits it... beautiful!)

I would recommend this company to anyone interested in getting an ethically-sourced jewelry. (And for that matter, those who aren't interested... BE has plenty of material on the website with which to educate yourself!)

I heartily recommend this business. We got an engagement ring and wedding ring from here and are completely satisfied with the rings, delivery, and customer service. We ordered the wedding ring from Australia and it was delivered extremely fast, low hassle, and it was literally half the price Australian retailers were quoting us for the same ring, and 2 weeks faster (but that's Australian retailers for you...). When I started looking around for engagement rings, I had no idea where to start but knew I wanted my ring to be as socially responsible as possible. I found exactly what I was looking for on both accounts at Brilliant Earth. The experience was low-key, pressure free and actually fun (which says a lot coming from a guy who was completely freaked about the process at the beginning)!! Beth was patient, helpful, and helped me design the exact ring that I knew my now-fiancee would love. We are very happy with our recent engagement ring purchase at Brilliant Earth. Jeanne-Marie was prompt, knowledgable, friendly, and had great recommendations for stones, settings, and wedding bands. She let us take our time in the showroom even though our appointment ran long at the very end of the day, and she answered all of our questions thoroughly. She had a great sense of humor and was very personable throughout the entire experience. She found the perfect diamond for us, and best of all, she respected our budget and we even ended up spending LESS than what we'd originally thought we would. Despite fabrication delays from Hurricane Sandy, she went to great lengths to make sure that our ring arrived to us while we were camping in Hawaii, since we'd had our hearts set on getting engaged there. This was no easy task since we didn't have a permanent address to ship to while on the island. All in all, a great experience

Incredible service. I was nervous about making such a huge purchase on line but I'm glad I did. When making my decision to trust an online dealer you shouldn't trust this review or any other for that matter. Anyone can write it. I came across recondmondations by 60 mins and Martha Stewart in a goggle search. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. I ended up spending less for my conflict free diamond then the vendor that I was going to use... And my fianc got her conflict free diamond so every one wins. Again, incredible service and extraordinary diamond quality!! I WILL be getting my wedding band from there as well. By the way, I did have the diamond appraised and I did see the serial number and Canadian trademark maple leaf for myself in a microscope. The stone is very legit as well as the company.

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this company. My future hubby and I decided to purchase our wedding rings and my engagement ring on-line because he is deployed. Getting to a jewelry store with four walls was not an option. We searched around and stumbled upon these guys. After researching and reading the other shining reviews we decided to go for it. I couldn't be happier with the beautiful setting and shinny sapphire that came to me. I have had nothing but gushing compliments on my ring. I think that what we paid for all three bands was very reasonable especially for the quality that we received. People were even shocked that my engagement ring was as inexpensive as it was.

Even when my wedding band didn't fit just the way that I wanted it to fit they were super understanding and they were wonderful about resizing it. I would recommend this wonderful company to anyone looking to pop the question.

After watching the movie blood diamond my views on engagement rings had changed drastically. My fianc was aware of my strong opinions about conflict diamonds. He got my engagement ring Brilliant Earth which uses conflict free diamonds. I was ecstatic at how beautiful my ring was and even more ecstatic to find out that it was conflict free. It is the perfect ring for me. I was so pleased with their customer service when we recontacted them for my wedding band.

My fianc purchased my antique engagement ring online at Brilliant Earth. Shipping was quick and it arrived just in time for a Christmas "proposal" (if you could call it that)! Although the proposal wasn't the least bit romantic, you can bet I still adore my 1920s Edwardian-with-a-dash-of-Art-Deco antique engagement ring and it will stay in our new family for years to come. I live in the Washington DC area and was looking for a blue saphire engagement ring for my girlfriend. I intitially called about 3 months ago and spoke with a male representative. He was a very big help and showed a great deal of interest in helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I purchased last week and it just came on the FedEX truck about 10 minutes ago.

He emailed me yesterday evening with the overnight tracking id for the package. One thing I really appreciated was that he never seemed pushy or forceful, just interested in what I was looking for. He kept in touch over the last 3 months a couple times, and when I was ready to order, I called and we handled it over the phone in a matter of minutes.

First and foremost, I appreciate the mission of Brilliant Earth. It does a conscience good to enjoy a gem from the earth which was mined, cut and polished safely. I did not find their conflict-free diamonds to be more costly than other laboratory certified diamonds...Though, for the peace of mind, I would have spent more-just didn't have to!

Next, I live out east but was treated like a next-door neighbor. I feel that I received special attention, was given priority and all-in-all felt like a first-class customer dealing with a first-class business! I went through the whole process of shopping for a ring with a diamond specialist. She made the experience timely, and exciting. I cannot say enough about her expertise, knowledge and patience.

Lastly, I am so impressed with Brilliant Earth's customer service, quality of the product and environmental position, I consider myself a consumer of only their jewelry for life! Thank you, Brilliant Earth!

A phenomenal experience, from start to end. I couldn't have asked for more-- the team had a charming and upbeat demeanor, they were very patient and I never felt rushed or pressured. All my questions about buying my fiance's engagement ring were answered with pro's and con's for each choice-- again, never telling me what was the "best" but educating me on what everything means and why some people care about some things and not others.

They made one of the most stressful buying processes in my life into something that was surprisingly easy. We had the ring re-sized with no problems at all and my fiancee couldn't be happier with the end result. Also, I highly recommend customizing the ring... it had all the little things I know she cared about and she said it was "exactly" what she wanted!

Brilliant Earth made our dreams come true! My fiance and I really wanted to find diamonds and gold that we knew were conflict-free and ethically sourced. After getting a general idea from my darling as to what she would like her ring to be like I found and contacted Brilliant Earth. Our rep was amazing from day one. She took my ideas for a custom design ring and helped bring it all together. We had a few bumps along the way but nothing that was not resolved quickly. I chose to purchase my husband's wedding ring from Brilliant Earth due to my husband's positive experience with buying my wedding band and ring prior. From the beginning, I was provided with nothing but the utmost of professionalism and support. Any questions I had were answered promptly (via phone or e-mail) and I always was provided with a time frame as well as good explanation of expectations (mine as well as Brilliant Earth's) during the ring making process. I had the pleasure of collaborating with Jordan. It was a pleasant experience and even though I was stressed out planning a wedding, the representative assured me everything would be fine and the ring would arrive in plenty of time for the wedding. I couldn't be more happy with my experience at Brilliant Earth. I purchased my wife's engagement ring from Brilliant Earth - deep blue sapphire stud with diamond accents. Living in L.A., I ordered the ring over the phone. The representative was extremely friendly and amenable to my needy requests. She sent me over detailed specifications and pictures of each individual stone. I was exploring several other conflict-free options at the time, and Brilliant Earth seemed to have the best quality assurance. Whether a stone is in fact conflict free really boils down to trust - the quality of a conflict free stone is not much different from a blood diamond, and so the quality of a company's distribution network is what is important. Brilliant Earth was the only company I came across who voiced strong confidence in their source.

The ring was shipped in a large nondescript box (which is great given the value of the contents) to FedEX, where I had to sign (again, no leaving at my apt door). The company offered a wonderful one month money back guarantee. Each stone was accompanied by a card detailing where the stone is from and what 'conflict free' meant for the stone. E.g., the diamonds were from Canada, and so the card detailed the high wages and other labor laws. The sapphire was from Sri Lanka (I believe) and the card detailed how the stones are picked from the river, as locals have been doing for thousands of years, as opposed to invasive mining.

My wife loved it. The quality was superb. As a result, we took a trip up to Brilliant Earth's SF office where we looked at wedding rings. My wife and I, probably like most engaged couples, were really picky and asked plenty of annoying detail oriented questions. The staff was very friendly and patient. My wife ended up selecting a band with small diamond studs and I selected a recycled white gold beveled edge ring. We've been wearing them for nearly a year and they are great.

There is definitely a premium for the conflict-free/recycled materials, but it is well worth it. These purchases are meant to last for at least a lifetime. I look forward to buying more products from them in the future (but not for a while...wedding debt!).

After accidentally flushing my wedding ring down the toilet in a sleep stupor one night, I came across Brilliant Earth after searching or ethical wedding rings. I made a decision to never buy a blood diamond and was delighted to see Brilliant Earth's website and read their mission and efforts to provide ethical, fair trade jewelry and order from there. I ordered my ring and not only was it here in a excellent amount of time, but it's absolutely beautiful! I could not be happier and feel lucky to have got something so beautiful from a great company. I knew which engagement ring I wanted to purchase for my girlfriend long before I planned on purchasing them and proposing. During one of my live chat sessions with a specialist (awesome feature), she mentioned that the rings were going to be going up in price in a few days. I didn't have the money to make the purchase at that time and was very upset, but she told me that I could lock in the current price and work out a payment plan! It was amazing!

On top of that, I worked with a great rep the entire time, and she was an absolute doll to work with. She was genuinely interested in my relationship with my girlfriend and was in contact often.

I can't say one bad thing about this place! Ryan is who I have been talking to for a year and half now. My engagement ring came from here and now our wedding bands too! We love the service we've gotten. They have been nothing but nice and accommodating! Ryan is very knowledgable and makes sure that every question we have is answered! I recently purchased our wedding bands and unfortunately have to send back mine for a resize(not their fault) but he has been more than willing and able to help me out with it! It's been a lot easier so far than I thought it would be!

What a great place. I've never bought an egagement ring before and I lucked out by having a great help me. She was very patient and I believe, went above and beyond for me. I live in Houston so handled everything via phone and email. When I narrowed down the setting and diamond, she had the couple diamonds I was interested in shipped to her store and she took photos for me so that I could see what they looked like. She then happen to have the setting I wanted and took a photo of the diamond sitting on top of the setting and even put it on to let me see the size comparison when worn. I doubt I would have gotten such service in most other places, especially those chains. Anyhow, I proposed about 1.5 weeks ago and thankfully she said yes. Possibly due in part to the beauty of the ring I got from this great company!

I have been blown away by the quality and service at Brilliant Earth. I first bought an engagement ring 2 years ago after an exhaustive search for the right diamond at the right price. I bought a simple solitaire as a temporary setting knowing that my girlfriend would want to choose her own setting style. The diamond was a beautiful 2ct cushion shape and the B.E. salesperson even talked me down from a more expensive option that wasn't getting us anything extra for the money. Exchanging the temporary setting was refreshingly painless. My fiance then chose the Platinum Victorian halo setting which I must admit was a beautiful complement to the diamond.

Fast forward 18 months and it was time to buy wedding bands. My fiance wanted to get a wedding band that would be nice enough to stand on its own if she decided not to wear her engagement ring for any given occasion. We ended up doing a custom band with pave diamonds which matched her engagement ring perfectly. I had a harder time making a decision for my wedding band. I wanted to do a 5mm version of the platinum matte beveled edge wedding band with grooves (the standard is 6mm) and this change was very easy to do. When we got the rings, I noticed that mine was a little too big - I think the local jewelry store where I was measured made a mistake. Once again, resizing the ring with B.E. was painless.

Now after the dust has finally settled on all of the wedding madness, I can look back and say that our Brilliant Earth experience was far and away the best service we received from any vendor for our wedding. I am a stickler for details and they got everything right from the details of the jewelry to the exceptional service, and even the beautiful sustainable packaging. I am rarely inspired to write a positive review (and must admit, a bit quicker to write a negative one when dissatisfied) but this company is worth it. Shop here and you won't regret it.

I am very satisfied with the service that Brilliant Earth has provided me. I am not a gem expert, but I did my research on gem quality and what to expect from the information that was provided online and picked out a diamond that fit my budget and had superb quality. There were so many excellent styles of settings, but found the perfect simplistic version that I felt would show off the diamond the best. Once completed I purchased the ring and within about two weeks the ring was in my hands. I even got it checked at the local jewelry store (for free) and they verified that the GIA report was valid. So in the end it looked absolutely stunning and I love it and know my (hopefully) future wife will love it too when I give it to her.

One main reason why I have given the site 5 stars is I bought the ring a tad bit early from when I was planning on giving it to my girl. So I called up and asked if it would be a problem (while the ring was in production) and they told me that they had a special promotion for over the holidays that extends their 30 day return policy into January. Even though I did not order the ring within this promotion, they still allowed me to enter into it. So one recommendation for future buyers is to ensure that the time window allocated by Brilliant Earth matches your schedule for giving the ring.

Another reason is they offered yet another promotion while my ring was being shipped that allowed me to get $100 off wedding bands (which I plan on picking with my (hopefully) future wife). Even though I missed this promotion by a couple days, they still allowed me to have it.

So to sum it up the things I loved about the company are:
1) Amazingly beautiful quality ring/diamond
2) Fast service (once made, the ring was shipped and in my hand the day they estimated on the site)
3) Excellent customer service by allowing me to enter into the promotions even after I ordered (also the people I talked to were very patient and considerate)
4) Conflict free diamonds with documentation
5) I love the box that the ring is in. Not traditional felt box that most rings I see are presented in, but a very original wooden box, which I am sure my (hopefully) future wife and I will treasure for the rest of our lives.

If you are patient, do your research, and ensure your timing is correct, then this company is the place to go. Supports an excellent cause, and produces excellent quality.

When I began looking for an engagement ring, I went to the usual spots (Tiffany, etc.). I routinely felt pressured to look at rings that were either out of my price range or not the style that I was looking for. Brilliant Earth was a breath of fresh air in my hunt for the perfect engagement ring.

Working with Beth at Brilliant Earth was a pleasure. She always promptly responded to emails and phone calls. She guided me through the process of choosing a ring and taught me about the diamonds that I was looking at. Most importantly, perhaps, the Brilliant Earth showroom is private. It is just you and the salesperson -- you can feel free to ask questions and just be yourself!

I eventually fell in love with the style of the estate engagement rings that they have. Our hundred year old engagement ring is in immaculate condition and just what I wanted.

I highly recommend scheduling a visit at the Brilliant Earth showroom. I am so happy with how I was treated, the process of purchasing such an important piece of jewelry, and the ring on my fiance's finger.

I was both excited and skeptical when I went into Brilliant Earth for the first time. It's a bit annoying to have to set up an appointment (already a commitment), the parking's not so hot, and when you combine a commodity with a "value system" you're likely to get a speech. I was really impressed with the way I was treated, and the selection. While most diamond shops may have 2-3 stones in the size you're looking for, Brilliant Earth had six in the narrow carat range I was interested in. They could also give me specifics on other similar stones for order, and a delivery time of just a day (I had to wait a week to have a stone sent from another jeweler at another shop). The importance of having a variety of stones on hand cannot be under appreciated; it can save you hundreds of dollars if you know what characteristics are most important to you. The stones themselves were at or above expectations in terms of clarity, cut, and color; and the pricing was really reasonable.

my husband found Brilliant Earth online after i asked him please not to buy a diamond someone had to die for. i didn't think i really wanted a diamond ring but i am now totally in love with the gorgeous sparkly stone he picked out and the perfect classic setting (we picked the 6 prong). i had to send the engagement ring back for resizing and so we took advantage of the one free resetting to get a slightly more comfortable fit (my ring started with the traditional knife-edge band; i switched to the comfort band) - what a great service. Senior Jewelry Specialist Danielle worked with me tirelessly to find the right setting and fit for my diamond, taking photos at the showroom for me so i could see all the settings on a real hand and with wedding bands - i didn't even ask for this, she just offered. she kept in touch with me faithfully through the whole process.

our wedding bands as well are from Brilliant Earth and we love love love them. the wedding band looks great with my engagement ring. i absolutely recommend BE to anyone in need of rings. i am so pleased that my husband found a company which fit so well with the values of local, recycled, sustainable that we worked to include in our big day - i love him all the more for it. i cannot recommend BE and Danielle highly enough - she is by far the best customer service person i have ever had the pleasure to work with. thank you!

My fiance and I live in MT, and after unsuccessfully looking in local jewelry stores for an engagement ring that suited both our taste and our budget, I noticed an ad for Brilliant Earth on Facebook. We were interested in a Canadian diamond. I had a look at their webpage and noticed that they had a showroom (by appointment) in SF. I contacted them by email and set up an appointment to coincide with a trip we were planning to visit family in the area. What a great experience it turned out to be! We drove into the city and found nearby parking with no problem. A gal met us in reception and escorted us to a private room with numerous loose diamonds that she had selected for us to view based off of email discussons of our parameters. She was extraordinarily knowledgable and made the whole experience really fun for both of us. There was none of the high pressure sales technique that we had experienced in other stores. We selected a stone that I absolutey love. She was great at taking what were really just our impressions and "gut feelings" about a stone and explaining the underlying structural characteristics that gave the stone the qualitites to which we were responding. When my fiancee and I first began to talk about rings, I told him I'd be happy with anything but hoped it would be conflict-free, if possible. He proposed to me with a beautiful ring from Brilliant Earth! It's perfect and the diamond is gorgeous. The company sent a certificate of origin, with detailed information about the mine's environmental protection practices, labor and safety practices, and community programs.

We decided to purchase our wedding bands from the company as well, and through every step of the process the customer service was extremely professional, kind, and personal. I had the chance to visit the San Francisco showroom, which was comfortable and intimate. Our bands arrived yesterday and I can't wait for my fiancee and I to wear them! It feels great to know that our purchases support ethical and environmentally conscious practices, not to mention a unique and innovative company.

It was really important for us to get a conflict-free diamond, preferably from Canada. I was sold on buying from BE, but I found the setting that I wanted, and that my girlfriend's best friend approved of, on another web site. BE said that they could design a setting just like it if not better and they did! BE did a wonderful job. The ring is beautiful and my girlfriend loves it. We're officially engaged as of yesterday!

My experience at Brilliant Earth could not have been better. We had a private consultation, which was more productive than window shopping at any other store. We found a great ring, and paired it with a fantastic blue sapphire. In the end, I bought an engagement ring that was nicer than I could have hoped for, paid a reasonable amount, and did it in a way that is socially responsible. Thanks!

I recently purchased a wedding set from Brilliant Earth, and my experience with them was as good as I could hope for. I was able to work out a lay-away plan, so that I could pay for the rings gradually and guarantee that they wouldn't be sold to another customer. When I had finally finished my payment, I had the rings in hand within two days. Even getting them re-sized was easy. They re-sized the rings for free, and then sent them back about a week later. The best part is Brilliant Earth is environmentally-friendly and is dedicated to ethical practices. I highly recommend Brilliant Earth. In fact, if I need to buy any other jewelry in the future, it will probably be from them.

After learning about the diamond trade, we knew that we wanted conflict free rings. Brilliant Earth is the first website that comes up. This place is a true treasure to the Bay Area and I would recommend seeing their showroom if you are in the area. We live an hour away and decided to make it a day trip to SF. This place offers everything from custom designed rings to estate rings. I already had one of their wedding bands in mind but found a ring that I absolutely fell in love with. It ended up being an estate ring and after checking out the ring on the website later that day, it wouldn't have been one that caught my interest. Being able to try on the rings and see it sparkle was mesmerizing! Listening to Ryan talk about the company's ethics justified every reason why we were there. We felt right at home from the moment we were greeted at the front door. Both of us found the rings we want to wear for the rest of lives at this place. This day at Brilliant Earth has become very special to us.

I recently purchased an engagement ring for my girlfriend from Brilliant Earth, and I don't regret the decision at all. I ended up starting there actually because the promise of conflict free diamonds and recycled gold, silver, and platinum bands seemed kindof neat, and my girlfriend and I are into the whole environmentalism thing.

I decided to try the "make your own engagement ring" option, which I'd always liked the idea of, because I've just never been satisfied with a lot of the ones that I've seen. It was very easy to choose the setting, the stone and the band, and the price was within what I was expecting to spend on an engagement ring. So under careful scrutiny I picked out all the details and designed the ring, I thought it looked great, but I just wasn't positive yet.

I left the page up on my computer for about a week, and every time I came in from a bad day at work, I'd see the ring and smile. Once I realized that just looking at the ring made everything feel right, I decided I had to get it.

After placing the order I received a personal confirmation email from their gemologist, who told me that "the ring is beautiful!" and was very polite. When I had issues accepting the delivery a Brilliant Earth employee sent me an email offering help before I'd even thought it might have been a problem.

Moral of the story: Ethical and environmentally friendly company with fine products and fantastic customer service.

Brilliant Earth was amazing to work with! Our sales rep was fabulous and even took the time to take pictures of the rings we wanted so I could see what they looked like together. She was very patient and helped with our decision and I could not be more happy with our purchase! I will certainly suggest BE to others looking for rings or any other jewelry. They have quality stuff and it arrived when expected and she was VERY fast to answer any questions we had. She was patient as we went back and forth with our rings and deciding which ones and she never pushed us at all. As someone who has spent the better part of the last decade living/working/studying in and for Africa, I've seen first hand the social and environmental consequences of mining for diamonds and other precious minerals in Africa. The thought that one day I might have to propose with a ring that completely contradicts my values had given me a heavy heart. Insert Brilliant Earth. I was looking everywhere for a ring for my girlfriend so that when I asked her to marry me she would love it. I came across Brilliant Earth and I was amazed of what they had to offer. I found the perfect ring for her. And I know when I ask her this Christmas she is going to love it. I was really surprised by how fast I got it too. My (now) fiancee had dropped a few hints to me about Brilliant Earth and that they specialized in conflict-free stones. Thinking that it would then lead to a conflict-free marriage, how could I deny such a place? Even though they were across the country, I trusted that I would offer a helping hand in my quest for the perfect ring without even seeing it. Thankfully, one of their customer service reps was kind enough to lend her expertise, time, and super-heroinism to my cause and helped me in those areas that stereotypical men such as myself are lacking. Although I am still convinced that my fiancee mainly said "yes" due to the sparkling stone that I provided, the experience gave me enough confidence to then go back to the same rep when it came time for the wedding bands. Although my ideal wedding band would be in the form of a gospel choir, the two that her and I selected will happily suffice. I'll be sure to go back to her and the rest of the Brilliant Earth crew for all of my future weddings!

In all seriousness, the only aspect that is better than the stones being conflict-free is the unparalleled service that I received over the course of two orders!

I purchased the Lotus necklace for my daughter for Christmas this year. She saw it on the website and mentioned how pretty it was. I have to say I'm always a little nervous about buying jewlery on line, but I did because I knew she would like it. I was so happy I did. First, the delivery was very fast and was very happy I had to sign for it and not left on my doorstep. Second, it was packaged so beautifully!! Third and most important the quality of the necklace. My engagement ring is from Brilliant Earth. I knew from the beginning that I wanted a ring made from recycled metals and a conflict-free, ethically sourced stone, so Brilliant Earth was an obvious choice. I chose the Antique Scroll ring and it is stunning - I couldn't ask for anything more beautiful. The quality of the ring is excellent, and the filigree details on the band make it truly unique. I get so many compliments on it! We ordered online and were very pleased with the customer service and easy-to-use website. I'm happy to say that we have decided to order our wedding rings from Brilliant Earth as well.
