Felicitas is an excellent designer and so easy to work with. She helped turn my one bedroom downtown apartment into a beautiful, unique and very liveable space. I get compliments on it every time I have people over! Recognizing my need for storage space, she designed built-in cabinetry that has made all the difference in the world -- she has an incredible ability to visualize the best way to use space efficiently. She was also great at working within my budget and flexible with materials, colors, and furniture despite my inability to make any decision easy!! She was able to find a multitude of options (whether it was chair fabric, curtain fabric or side tables) all of which worked well in the room and all of which suited my particular "ask"... i never would have known the full potential of my apartment without her!

We hired Ms Oefelein to help us with the renovation of our 3BR home on the upper East Side.
This included the gut job of kitchen and bath rooms as well as the installation of new floors and materials throughout.
What had appealed to us what Ms Oefeleins Background as a materials and finishes instructor and we were not disappointed.
The finishes she selected for our 2 bath rooms, kitchen and rooms are spectacular.
At the beginning of the job we were not convinced that we would like wallpapers but we got quite an education as to what was available on the market.
Ms Oefelein showed us many modern and unexpected materials, the wall to wall carpeting we installed is a Green product and so are the wall coverings and paints we selected. Our new furnishings and window treatments are timeless, fun and functional at the same time.
Our apartment has turned into the wonderful home we always dreamed off! Thank you.

Falicitas is an absolute pleasure to work with. She gives direct and clear instructions and is also extremely fair minded. Timely, coordinated, organized and with integrity. It simply does not get better than this. Apart from all that she has superb taste.

We were referred to Felicitas by a friend who hired her. We had never worked with a designer before and were overwhelmed by the process of renovating and decorating. Its been nearly 5yrs since FO Design transformed my pre-war 1-bdrm apt into the modern, sophisticated space I've always wanted. Living in Manhattan and needing much closet space, I gave her the challenge of creating a modern, (almost) minimalist apt for me to accommodate ALL my books, clothes, shoes, and accessories without sacrificing design and livable area. She showed me floor plans and innovative ways to maximize my 850 sq ft apt. I was impressed by her ability to design like an artist (relationship and usage of color, light, fabric, texture, and layout) and execute her ideas like a technician (floor plans, specs, organization, timing, etc) ... A GREAT COMBINATION! I think is it much harder to design a clean, modern, yet comfortable home when every visible thing matters. Well, 5yrs later, I still LOVE the space she designed and would consult with her again when I am in need of change or a major makeover. Highly recommended!
