I just had another delicious tuna fish sandwich, with the works on grilled rye - not a tuna melt mind you - I like my tuna cold - it was big, flavorful and the tuna was right from heaven - light and fresh. I had to have the waiter pinch me

What a joke...this place just doesn't get it. Today I came in for the 4th time in a week. Thought I'd really found a cool hang-out near my place for drinks and neighbors and the sports page during Happy Hour, but no - sadly, I was mistaken. The owner would rather hang on to his .75 cents worth of wholesale bread and roast beef than hang on to a new, potentially regularly returning customer. To explain; after already dropping $25 on a dinner and a couple of drinks I will still hungry. So I asked for a 1/2 order of a sandwich. That's all - nothing difficult or surprising or unheard of in any casual dining place, much less a pub/dive called "The Shack". Instead of a "sure!, I can make that work", I got not one, but two lectures on why they couldn't do that because it would mean "wasting a portioned" bread roll and ounce of roast beef. When I countered that this seemed a bit silly, when the other half of the bread roll and the roast beef could be put to other uses or saved for another 1/2 order, the owner turned red in the face and said "I'm sorry that you think I'M silly...." wtf?? He took it all personal! So I told him I didn't think HE was silly, just the policy of no 1/2 orders. He and his bartenders just walked away, like petulant children. This was AFTER I calmly explained that it was my fourth visit in a week and that I really liked this place! It was like they didn't really give a sh_t about losing a brand new customer, who had been tipping reallly well! I was made to feel like cr_p for even asking and then pointing out the weakness in the "portioned" argument (and I've been in food and beverage for 25 years). With customer service like this, no wonder each time I was in there between 5pm and 7pm I could not count more than 6 other customers on any day. Hey Shack! - enjoy that .75 cents of savings! You just lost a customer who potentially would have brought in a few hundred in the next several months!

Pros: ummmm... I'm still thinking....ummmm....

Cons: Mistakes own nose for bigger picture

I had a burger, which was good, but nothing to write home about. The place seemed a little on the dirty side and my server was very aloof and didn't seem to care about us as patrons. Seems like it would be a better place to come to to watch sports than just for a meal.

Not a football fan but I have to tell you that Sunday afternoons here rule. Burgers are incredible and the drinks are good too. A bit college-y but the grub is well-worth it.

Pros: Food and Drinks

Cons: Can get Loud due to sports fans watching games on multiple screens

The Shack truly does have the best burgers in L.A., but they also have a full menu of soups, salads and sandwiches. It's a great place to enjoy a game of pool, watch your favorite team on T.V. or just hang out with friends after work.

Two thumbs up!

If you like your hamburgers cooked to perfection and either traditional or fun (Hawaiian Style) this joint is for you. Very casual, TVs going, and delicious food. Even the pizza was great. Fresh food, great service, you can linger or get the food, gobble and go. Forget Islands. This is better food, better prices, and more atmosphere. Many regulars.
Cant' miss with The Shack.

Great Bar and Grill. The food is wonderful and reasonably priced. The patio is open with table service--great if you are a smoker. Lots of TVs with sports and news playing. Friendly Staff. The Shack Burger ( cheeseburger with a hot link on it) is terrific, so are the fish & chips.

The Shack is a sports bar, not a restaurant. They serve food, but I do not recommend it. When there is a PA game, the customers of this bar illegally park, block driveways and are very rude.

Philly sports bar. Food is not that good and over priced. When Philly is playing on Monday night - there is a long line - come early.
