I live across the street from R&R and try to go get a massage there once every few months. I have been treated by quite a few different therapists there over the years and they have all known their stuff. My favorites are Suphan and Noi, but everyone has always done a good job. I am a massage therapist myself so I am very sensitive to a therapist who is not on the ball or distracted and I have only experienced good quality work here...just as good or better than more expensive "spas." I would definitely recommend it.

i got a Facial there...i never seem my pores so clean...it was a while back...but i never forgot the way i was treated...i got out of there feeling younger.... and refresh....i combinded with a thai massage....i went to heaven..
the place is small...bu everybody is very friendly...
i enjoyed and i recommended..

The masseuses are very professional and said they wouldn't talk during my session but I enjoy conversation so it helped with my massage. The massage itself was fan-freakin-tastic! I had no idea it would feel that good (being it was my first time getting a professional massage). I will for sure be going back.

I received a gift card for a facial and massage for Christmas from a friend because I frequent many different spas throughout LA. I was surprised that so many of the reviews are overwhelmingly positive ... because my experience was not that.

There were none of the usual amenities that one thinks of when one goes to a spa. There was no sauna. There was no locker room. You had to carry you spa bag from room to room for your sevices. Tthere was a tiny shower room without a toilet. There was no room in which to wait for your services after you have put on your robe. The photo you see advertised is the front waiting room taken from the best possible angle.

Yes, the decor is nice and well thought out. But, I didn't feel the normal relaxation (ironically) that I have felt at other spas. I could hear people in the hallways and in the adjoining rooms while receiving my services. The whole experience felt more like a really nice chiropractor's office than a visit to the spa.

However, I did love the esthetician. My facial was great. And she was very professional. Sadly, the other aspects of my day at the "spa" overshadowed my facial.

I would tell my friends that it is a really nice-looking place, but approach it more like a visit to the chiropractor's than a visit to the spa and you won't be disappointed.

I went here because I knew my insurance covered massage therapy. I was blown away at how friendly the staff was. The massage was the best deep tissue I have ever had. She was firm and worked out every knot she found. I was sore the next day but a good sore. She left me relaxed yet loose. Her name was Angie and I highly recommend her if your looking for a deep tissue experience. Very convienant parking with security. I went back two days later and Angie knew exactly where she left off. I give this place 5 stars!

My wife and I visited R & R Bodyworks for the first time and we were very very impressed. The office is a quiet and relaxing setting and very clean and professional. We both went for the "deep tissue" massage and came out COMPLETELY tranquil. I recommend this place to anybody that seeks a variety of massages at a very reasonable price!

R & R Bodyworks is a great location! Parking is sufficient. Valerie gives an excellent massage and worked out all my knots in my back and neck! Very tranquill environment and Dr. Beasley is an excellent Chiropractor. Highly recommend overall.

Goodness!! I love this place!! I get massages about two- three times a month there. My FAVORITE is Valerie for a deep tissue massage. If you like firm pressure for those nasty knots, then she is your girl. Also, got some chiropractic work done by Dr. Beasley. He was awesome too. My back loves me more and more every time I go.

I've been here twice before and was happy with the massage, so I wanted to see if the third time would not disappoint. I can unequivocally say this is the best deal in town. This time Valerie, my wonderful masseuse, gave me a deep tissue massage. I gave her brownie points for asking me the obvious and making me laugh - as soon as she started prepping me, she asked "are you always this tense"? I told her about the miserable week I'd been having and she basically kneaded my body into submission. She's open to suggestions and listens to your needs. I left feeling relaxed and happy. Go now, before everybody finds out about this place!

I live in the neighborhood and have been in need of finding a regular masseuse. I stopped by and the first thing I noticed is the tranquil atmosphere. The entire staff is very friendly and easy to get along with! Valerie was not only professional and knowledgeable, but personable and reassuring. She gave me great advise on what to do before, after and between every massage!! I'll definitely be back, again and again!!

I had the most wonderful deep tissue massage here for much less than Burke Williams! The people there were friendly, punctual, and professional. I am going back next week for sure and probably will sign up for a series at a discounted rate. I highly recommend.

This place is clean, easy to sign in and just a good place overall if you need a quick massage. The thing I like most is that they almost always have availability, even on weekends and on a short notice. The staff is very friendly and make the place very easy -- not too much holy/spiritual talk or anything, just friendly & keeping it simple!

When you first go in, the first thing I noticed was a small heater inside. They turn it on for you if you get cold and I was thinking "SCORE!" because I ALWAYS get cold during massages! I'm glad they thought of that ahead of time.

For the price it is a pretty good deal, and they also take health insurance!

This is place has a very nice and clean environment and totally fits my budget. I just realized how necessary massages but didn't think I could afford to have them regularly. This place is super close to where I live and I can afford it! The front desk guy is very helpful and informative. The masseuse gave me a deep tissue/swedish massage which I had never had before. I have serious back soreness and regular everyday stress in me. My back feels better and I felt like she took away all of my stress. Definitely try this place!

I had a massage here last week with Noi. This was the deepest deep tissue massage I've ever had. After working on my back, she put on a heating pad while she massaged other areas - then when I was even more relaxed, she came back to my back and massaged some more. I scheduled another massage with her on my way out!

I think that this place is very reasonably priced and clean. And the quality of the massage was far better than I've experienced at other places that charge the same amount.

This was definitely a great experience! I've been to other places that cost similar in price, but at those places, there is always a trade off. The staff talks too loudly, the masseur doesn't speak English, or the place seems bootleg.

However, when I walked in, the atmosphere was great. Really pretty decoration, a very courteous staff, and the room was quiet and temperature was controlled for. I went with Mark, and that was a great decision. He had an intuitive sense of when to talk versus when to let me be silent. He knew when and where I was tense. In fact, three days later, I find myself going back because it took me from super stressed by my job to relaxed. And I want to go back to get my stress levels even lower.

I highly recommend the massage services at R&R Bodyworks. I have received many massages in my time and R&R offers great massages at reasonable prices in a professional setting. The salon is nice and quiet, the perfect setting for a relaxing massage. R&R Bodyworks also offers acupuncture and skin care and has a chiropractor. I will review these services as I try them. Also, the staff are courteous, parking is available, and evening massage appointments can be made for after work. I highly recommend R&R Bodyworks.

Last Friday I found myself with a day off and nothing to do so on Thursday afternoon I walked into Rest and Relax Bodyworks and made my appointment for Friday morning. What a great idea that turned out to be.
First of all, the massage was only $50. Second, the facility is really nice. It?s small, friendly and clean. And it?s right around the corner from my apartment.
The masseuse, Noi, called me in right on time. I opted for a combo Swedish / deep tissue massage and I got my money?s worth. Although Noi is quite small, she is very strong and very skilled. Working out the knots, my upper back and neck was uncharacteristically tight, turned out to be a little painful, but she backed off immediately when I told her it hurt and, as she foretold, the next day I felt great.
Next time I may not go for the deep tissue combo and just do a relaxing Swedish massage, but whatever I decide I?m sure I?ll get a quality massage at a reasonable price in a comfortable and professional facility.

I was given a gift certificate for a deep tissue massage at Rest & Relax Body Works, and didn't realize how much I needed this work done on my neck, shoulders and back. I've been back several times to work out all the muscle bundles and I can't believe how different my body feels. I've never had this kind of result from therapeutic massage. Find the right person for your taste; my friend has several favorites. I've enjoyed focusing on a multi-session goal for my body with one therapist, Tara.

a secret find and a good massage right around the corner. the service was friendly and accomodating, especially since i was a walk-in. the massuese gave special attention to trouble spots i mentioned and was very gentle with injuries -- very considerate.

This is by far the best massage that I've had, fancy spas and cheap shopping center massage places included. After one too many disappointing massages, I read the good reviews and decided to give R&R a try.

I upgraded to the hour and a half deep tissue and was pleased to find that the massage wasn't too hard but exactly perfect. I left with every kink worked out and every major muscle group adequately worked on. I was definitely happy with my experience. I can't recommend them for their other services, since I haven't tried them.

They were also very helpful in talking with my insurance company, to verify benefits regarding massage therapy. I know what a hassle that is and I was simply glad to have someone else call for me. Good place!

This was my first visit to R&R bodyworks. The receptionist was very congenial and ensured that I got my appointment quickly. The masseuse as very well trained in her work and ensured that I got the highest quality of massage. Highly recommended.

I saw all reviews and I needed a massage so I booked a massage same day on 2/28/08. Since it was my first time there, I filled out the basic questionnaire form (took a few minutes). I requested and received a great deep tissue 50 minute massage from Heather, 9 years of experience.

Heather did a great job focusing on my two problem areas, neck and lower back. Since it has been awhile since I had a massage, she gave me the right gradual increase in pressure. She was very courtesy making sure that everything was alright. The room, Maui, was slightly cool but not a big deal for me.

The place was clean, nice environment, decent piped in music, quick and easy massage, and reasonable price (paid $55). I will be back again soon.

FYI, R&R offers a discount for a Yelp and Citysearch review. I believe for the next the session.

I love this place! It came highly recommended by a friend and I was not disappointed. The receptionists are generally very helpfully and friendly. The last time I called there was a little misunderstanding about a "firm" Swedish and a combo (Swedish/deep tissue) not being the same thing. They are different and it says as much on the site. The woman wasn't rude, just didn't seem informed, but she won't be the one giving me my massage, so it's all good.
The establishment is very clean and well maintained. They have a shower which I haven't used, but good to know it is there if you aren't going directly home and want to take a quick one. I've had a couple different massage therapists there but my hands down favorite is Noi!! I like a lot of pressure in a massage and she is one STRONG woman!! So I do NOT recommend her if you prefer a lighter touch! She gets in there w/ her elbows at points. She checks in w/ you though! So she will scale it down if it is too much for you.

I have only one warning... there is a skin care specialist who does facials and such there. She seems very nice, but can be a bit overbearing/aggressive at times. She is not always there, but if you do come across her path and are not interested in her services I recommend telling her you already have someone who does your facials or something. But please don't let this sway you from going there!! It is such a great place! And as I said in my title, the prices are very reasonable!

This place is a nice haven in the craziness of LA. I've been there twice now and both times the massages were great! The service is superb and the price is excellent. For $55 you can get a deep tissue massage for an hour. The place is clean too and parking wasn't too bad (there's a guard on premise to make sure u get a spot). It was nice to also be able to shower up and go to where I needed to be. I was in and out in just over an hour. Great place!

I had a great experience here. I'm a runner and I've had many deep massages in my day, some good and some that leave something to be desired. The one I received at Rest & Relax Bodyworks was just what I needed (actually I needed al ot more time than just an hour massage, so I'm coming back for an hour and half to really work out those deep knots!) Suphan is a petite woman, but she has strong hands and knows exactly what she's doing. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her again.

The salon itself is really clean and comfortable, with private, quiet rooms. The salon staff is very friendly and accommodating. And the prices are very, very reasonable considering the quality of my massage was par with the best (and expensive) massages I've had in the past. I fully recommend this place. Check it out!

I enjoyed the massage. The price was more than resaonable and the staff was nice. I was expecting the service to be average but to my surprise everything was great. I plan on returning in a couple of weeks actually. I've already told my mom about it and some friends. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing considering it's location. Highly recommended but limited parking.

I highly recommend this place. I have had massages and facials here - both were excellent. My husband has been seeing a chiropractor (Dr. Beasely) here also, and he's helped him a lot (I just started seeing him too - a great experience so far). Try a deep tissue with Noi for seriously, the best deep tissue massage you've ever had, and Suriyana, the facialist is also wonderful. Super clean, friendly, relaxing, inviting environment - definitely check it out!

Rest & Relax Bodyworks is a wonderfully convenient, great-priced locale for wonderful massage treatments. Every massage therapist I've had is terrific. They have a calm and lovely facility, superb availability of therapists (same day appointments are usually no problem), and they have an excellent menu of services. It's the only place I go for massages any more. You can pay a lot more - but why? I recommend it highly and it's in a great convenient location for west LAers.

I tried this little massage spot simply because it was close to my house, I had no idea what to expect. I was so pleased to find the high quality massage therapists, friendly and professional atmosphere, and very relaxing and zen decor. It really is a sweet spot! I've gotten a massage by several practitioners by this point, and I can honestly say they've all been great!! I also got a wonderful facial there too, what a treat. I highly recommend this tranquil place.

I am pretty practical by nature so for me if there is a massage table and a good therapist behind it then it is enough for me. I called rest and relax to push my appointment back and they were very very nice over the phone. The receptionist treated me well when I arrived and I didn't feel rushed at all. They went beyond just a practical service and provided me with superior treatment in the waiting room and during the massage. The massage was given to me by Daniella. I had a mix of deep tissue and Sweedish. It felt great!! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

Valerie has a lot of experience. She is gentle and conscientious, yet effective and serious with her techniques. I was so relaxed i had trouble getting up at then end. We also attacked my problem areas successfully. Customer service is good and personable.

This is my 3 time at Relax Bodyworks and i love it, have finally found somewhere to go for a fantastic, relaxing massage. Even my husband loves it too!!!!
The staff are warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is great.
You can choose from several different types of massages, they cater for your needs.
The rooms are relaxing with soft music and magical scents, only downside sometimes is that you can hear the people in the next room but just zone out and relax.
I have recommended this spa to many friends, so i hope they come along and enjoy.

During the summer they have some guy sitting outside with a 45/hr sign. I would see it all the time on my way home. Finally, after a loooong week @ work, I decided to give this place a try. I really liked it! They are so nice and professional. Don't let the little strip mall look throw you off. It's definitely worth the price and I look forward to going back! :)

Only negative thing to mention is the facial lady.. she's very pushy and wouldn't stop talking to me while I waited for my massage. She can definitely knock it down a few notches.

I've been here once, and I'm going again. I'm new the whole massage thing, but I'm at a job that stresses me out now and I need a "recharge" every once in a while. I've been to a different place before that felt like the walls were paper thin, not the case with Rest and Relax.

The massage was great, the parking was easy (attached in the front and free), and they have some great deals that lower the already low prices. (today I'm getting a swedish massage, for an hour, for something around 35 or 40 bucks).

You know when you have to have your haircut - right now - well - for me -- the same goes for a massage. I needed one right now and I had no idea where to go, who to ask for. Spent a little time on Yelp and then picked a R and R --- and I picked a winner!! I called them up and said, I need it really, really, really hard. They recommended Noi - who is tiny, but mighty!!! I got an appointment right away - which was awesome, and they asked me for my credit card up front to hold the appointment - which made me feel like it was a professional bodywork facility and not just a "massage" joint. It was a great experience. Nice, clean place, relaxing rooms and an awesome massage. I got a combo swedish and deep tissue and for 50 bucks plus a nice tip. At the end of the massage and for days after I felt rested and relaxed. I will be back soon to see Noi!!!"

Always passed by and just happened to randomly try one weekend. Great quality massage for price and extremely convenient location. Had a deep tissue massage which was better quality in comparison to places where I paid much more. Would definitely go back again.

Rest & Relax is definitely a gem in West L.A. It's easily missed since it is on the 2nd floor of a small shopping plaza. I started getting regular massages for my migraines and headaches and wanted to try a place closer to home. I was not disappointed! The parking is free and fairly easy to come by but I usually go to that plaza during the weekdays. The waiting area is nicely decorated and the rooms are dimly lit, appropriately decorated and very peaceful! I received a swedish massage by Michelle and I was very impressed. They offer many other types of massages also. I agree with the other reviewers, all you have to do is give Rest & Relax one chance and you will become a devoted regular! The prices are all very reasonable for the quality that you get. They have same and/or next day appointments which makes it very convenient. The only suggestion I would have is to have later evening hours.

Rest and Relax bodyworks lives up to the business name. I have been to several spa's within the last year and they were successful in making me feel refreshed and renewed. The staffs at the facilities are very friendly. They have a great $99.00 special that I recommend for all first time visitors to try.

The facility is very clean and relaxing. The services did not feel rushed and everyone there seem educated in their area of expertise. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone because with just one visit, I have decided become a regular client!

Trust me! There will be no disappointments from your visit at Rest and Relax.

Conveniently located in heart of Palms. Very close to my house. It was amazing experience as I was suffering from a migrane and tension headache when I went there last week. The therapist was really good and was catering to my needs. The place was very clean and the staff were super nice and pleasant.
The price is very reasonable compare to all these fancy health clubs and day SPAs..
I recommand this to anyone who wants to have a great realxing experience .

This place is absolutely amazing. Not only is it within walking distance from my residence, but clients receive the care and service that you would get at places like Burke Williams. The same masseuse who worked on my back at R&R also practices at other higher price shops like Burke Williams so you get the same type of expertise and experience at a more affordable rate. Anyone willing to trade a $100 gift certificate for Burke Williams for $60 bucks to get a massage at R&R?

Nice place, fine massage, great price: what Rest & Relax lacks in a killer massage, they make up for with the price. On my first visit, I was greeted by the very friendly (and very knowledgeable, I would later discover) young woman manning the front desk. She'd later answer a bunch of my questions swiftly, intelligently, and professionally -- a big plus.

I was a few minutes late for my appointment, so they brought me into the massage room quickly. The room was pretty small, compared to say Amadeus in Pasadena (but their massages cost double!). The masseuse was friendly, but not particularly engaged or engaging. I ended up getting a deep tissue massage instead of a Swedish massage as I'd requested in my reservation, and though it added a couple bucks to the final bill, I was only slightly disappointed.

The massage itself was perfectly fine -- the pain in my back receded, which was what I'd come in for. (Her work on my hands was not so good, on the other hand, but that was my secondary request.) I didn't experience that sweeping sense of relief you get with a great masseuse, but it had a lasting effect, and for the price, that was A-OK.

Note that if paying with credit card, you have to tell the front desk person how much you're tipping -- a bit disconcerting when you want to write it down in the "privacy" of the receipt.

Like I said, good price for a massage, and I will try again -- **especially** what with the opportunity for added discounts! Definitely ask the folks at the front desk about this! (Don't bother asking over the phone -- I got one person who didn't know anything about the discount that was advertised right in front of them...)

Appointments aren't always necessary, but they are a good idea, especially on the weekend and for special treatments, from what they told me.

I would recommend them based on the price, but if you want a spine-melting massage, look elsewhere, based on my one experience.

This place is awesome! The price is great for what you get and the receptionist and masseuse were really nice. The place is very clean and the candles make the place smell really good. I left feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. My only complaint is that I didn't get a full 60 minute massage, but a little over 50 minutes. I would definitely go back! If you write a review they'll even give you a discount! I might pay a little more next time for a longer massage and maybe even ask for a deep tissue massage.

I highly recommend R&R! The salon is really clean and smells great! The price and service were great and I left refreshed and relaxed. I would definitely go back and have recommended R&R to all of my friends.

Suggestions:
I would recommend "splurging" and getting a 90 minute massage because the 60 minute is really only 50-55 minutes and it's definitely not enough time. If you write a review, you can get a discount on the already low price. Request a room at the back, if possible, because the front rooms are kind of noisy.

I have had many sport injuries and have been going there over 2 years as a regular and Dr Fox's spas are an amazing journey to the exotic beaches of the pacific with wonderful art of the turtles, palms, beaches, Buddhas and real waterfalls.The rates are reasonable and even better with discounts from time to time.

Great, affordable massages! I've been several times and usually get the swedish/deep tissue combo from either Suphan or Amanda (whichever one is available) and they are both fantastic! Nice calming ambience - the walls are a little thin (can hear people outside the room if they're talking) but I'm usually zoned out to the calming music and sound of the water feature that it doesn't bother me! Would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget!

I love the massage I got today, in fact I think it was the best ever. They really listened to what I wanted. I like a firm massage, but there were some areas that were very tender today, so I asked that she go more gently on those spots. The nice thing was that she did exactly that, she didn't change to doing it too soft, just more gentle, then back to firm on the other areas.
They have a list of various types of massages, so if you're really feeling the need to be pampered but don't have much money, you still can get something for yourself. They also sell Dermalogica products, which I like because it saved me a trip to another store.

I've lived down the street from this place for the past 5 years and finally tried it out. I've been to several other places for massage before, but R&R has been my favorite so far! The atmosphere is beautiful and the massage therapist, Brenda, was wonderful; I was 100% comfortable from the time I arrived to the time I left. I can't wait to go back to try the other services and to get another massage! The prices at R&R can't be beat, either. Try this place, you won't regret it!

I am a novelist and regularly get knotted up in my shoulders and neck. Although I live very close to R&R I had never visited. I called yesterday when I woke up in pain. They were wonderful! The place is squeaky clean, the staff personable and highly competent. The massage worked all my kinks out, both the usual and the pain in my neck and shoulders. And the price is right!!!

I first came here over a year ago after a car accident left my upper back and neck stiff and in constant pain. The therapist who worked on me really knew what she was doing. She wasn't just following some routine she learned in massage school but was in tune with what my body needed. The next day I felt like a completely new person--the pain was gone! Just recently I went again, hoping for similar results. I had just had surgery and the stress of that tensed up my upper back and neck like my old injury had returned. Amanda worked on me and not only did she help the pain, but was helpful in teaching me different ways to help ease the pain on my own.

Dr. Beasley is the best chiropractor I've ever had...and I've many over my 55 years. And the massages are also great. Highly recommend Suphan. She is strong and very skilled.

They are warm, friendly, honest, extremely competent and handle all the insurance stuff. You can even get a massage paid, in part, with some insurance companies...and R&R handles all the paper work. It's a small place in West LA so it's fairly easy to get an appt...until people start discovering how great R&R is.

I live 35 miles away but drive especially for Dr. Beasley and Suphan. Check it out. Tell 'em Bob the animal guy recommended them.

It takes alot of talent and skill to give a good massage, and this place is one of the best I have ever used.
The staff is friendly and professional, and the studio is safe and clean. I totally trust them to get the kinks out,
help repair an injury, or for general health and peace of mind. It is well worth the 50 bucks, as you'll leave
refreshed and energized, as they know how to release the trapped or blocked energy that happens when
you get too stressed out, which is pretty often for me! This is an excellent place to have all kinds of bodywork

I am a regular customer here because I think this is one of the best places to get a good massage-- the price is right and the rooms are safe, clean and have a relaxing "island decor"and soothing music. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the massage therapists consistenly do a fine professional job of working out the kinks and relaxing tension in the muscles and are as good as any therapists in more expensive salons. I give top rating!

R & R Body Works is your best bet for a massage in L.A.. The place is spotless, the staff friendly and they go out of their way to accommodate your needs. They must have staff on call because quite often I can call and get a same day appointment, usually within an hour or two. And the cost is beyond reasonable. $45.00 for a one hour swedish is a terrific deal. I highly recommend R & R Body Works, you will NOT be disappointed.

I have had a back injury to my lower right side of my back in 2005 after a horseback riding accident. That was the first time in my life that I could not walk for 3 days. I knew i needed a massage and from then i have had the cheap 40/hr deals to the expensive 90/hr and all were deep tissue massages. I have been coming here since the February of 2007 and I have to say it is the best deal for the buck. The atmosphere is serene, great bali-esque fixtures, friendly staff, and soothing music in every room. I usually have my deep tissue with NOI, she only weights about a 100 pounds but she has more strength than any male I have ever had. Heather is also great for deep tissue and great for someone that doesn't need that much pressure like I do. As a result, my lower back is fine now by going twice a month and being diligent paid off. I was able to play softball for the first time in 2 years thanks to Rest and Relax. Hope this helps..actually going there tonight! Can't wait!

I went to Rest and relax bodyworks today. I have heard a lot about this place and decided to give it a try. I walked in and the first thing I saw was this beautiful floor to ceiling water fountain. The ambiance is a mixture of tropical and asian influences. Very warm and inviting. I asked for the $45 massage and the girl set me up with Michelle. Wow! She has got great hands and a very sensitive touch. I loved the room. It had a small water fountain with stereo music being piped in and the table had an electric heating pad.. Loved it! As I was leaving I checked the bathroom out, since that is a very good sign of how clean the place is. Definitely passed the test. They told me that they were offering a $99 promotion until the end of the year that included a massage and facial. I bought the package but took a rain check on the facial until next time. Oh! also there is free parking in the center. I will be back next week to check out the facial.
