In Short
This sushi joint straddles two lines: It's right in between Hell's Kitchen and midtown, and its design falls somewhere between a lounge and a restaurant. Cube chairs, a long bar with embedded flat-screen TVs and a DJ say lounge, but the open kitchen, sending out the usual mix of sushi and rolls, says restaurant. The after-work party crowd munches on unique dishes including a crawfish salad and a roll made with tuna, avocado, eel and American cheese.

Ratings_icons All around great place/quality/service/ambiance... on and on...

Well, this place is prety awsome! drinks here are great. From traditional drinks to the specialties they are all made well and prompt. The food is top notch and so is the service. There is an asian bartender there by the name of Xaly, who I must say is one cool dude. His drinks are never weak and he'll recommend great sushi. Buy him a shot of Jack because that's all he'll drink. I Guarantee a great time and wonderfully amussing service. This place is a jewel and I will be traveling all the way from Westchester at least 3 times during the week for their sushi. Did i mention their Happy Hour is about 5 hours long 7 days a week. That includes all alcohol except Saki. That VERY hard to beat... and remember, their drinks arn't skimpy on the alcohol...

The management... Awsome people... Abe, you Rock!

Just check the place out and you'll love it.

Pros: Happy Hour/Great Food/Service

Cons: It's on 52nd and I live in Westchester... I can't be there everyday

Ratings_icons Best Happy Hour in Town!

mgnchu9

Bamboo 52 has the best happy hour in town! Their happy hour is 7 days a week, from 4pm-9pm, with cocktails $4-$5 and beers $3. AND they don't chintz on the liquor either!!! The only thing better than their happy hour is the HOT asian bartender. He goes by the name Xaly (don't know if this is his real name or a pseudonym) and he serves up some mean drinks. So definitely go check out Bamboo 52. Sit at the bar and have a drink(s) or a shot(s) with Xaly...you'll be in good hands!

Pros: happy hour, outdoor garden in the back, sushi

Ratings_icons Superb.

Happened to walk by this place this past Friday night on my way home and was drawn in by the music and the colorful crowd out front smoking and enjoying a flaming "Volcano Bowl" drink. The bar is f*#&(@ing fantastic. The bartender was hilarious, friendly and full of suggestions (and made quite the tasty mojito, I might add!!), the sushi chef was more than happy to oblige, and I even got a chance to say "hello" and "good work" to the manager Abe, who invited me back. What a place! Ended up calling up friends and spending the night chilling, listening to some great tunes, eating some great sushi (the bartender recommended the sushi sandwich-- great choice!), and having a great time. Will def be back... ESPECIALLY FOR HAPPY HOUR!! The bartender with glasses was a riot. Wish I remembered his name... too many mojitos!! LOL

Pros: Mojitos, Sushi, Music

Cons: No one told me sooner!

Ratings_icons incredible sushi. ultra fresh, ultra unique, ultra good.

this new sushi lounge/bar is very cool. plenty of room to lounge and smoke (if you like). the outside garden is very relaxing. the inside is modern chic, but comfortable. i love the flavored strawberry and mango mojitos. come for happy hour and they are half priced. i cant get enough of the sushi. my favorite is the sushi sandwich. nothing like i have tasted before. very original. the crowd is mixed, so there is someone for everybody. tip the sushi chef well and he will deep fry a live mini-crab before your eyes. so tasty. this one will be around for a long time.
ps. live dj's make every night a happening party.

Pros: sushi, mojitos, garden

Cons: not open for lunch

Even better than it looks! This place is hot, hot, hot! Stylish, sleek & comfortable, with amazing sushi (original & classics) as well as the best happy hour (5 hours) in town. Outrageous original cocktails...got to sample the new Volcano Bowls, awesome! The lounge is great after work or on Sunday nights. Their bamboo garden is the perfect place to chill with friends after a long day. Goodlooking people abound, even the staff. Video screens with outstanding visuals combined with great live DJ's make for the perfect atmosphere. They even have original paintings by a hot new artist, very cool. We love this place. You'll be seeing us there every week!

I love this new space. They have this awesome 1/2 price drink happy hour until 9pm everyday. There is also an outdoor garden space for dining and drinking. (and people watching) The sushi is reasonably priced and totally delishhhh. It's definately a "mixed" crowd. The dj's play great music. Over-all the place is a lot of fun. I cant wait to go back.

Pros: outdoor garden, cheap drinks, cool music

Ratings_icons Amazing sushi and great happy hour!

rasamnyl

Trendy new sushi restaurant in the heart of hells kitchen- Great ambiance and wonderful service. There is a 5 hour happy hour with extremely fair pricing as well as a beautiful garden in the back. I must say that my favorite drinks are their frozen lychee cosmo aa well as the mint saketini. As for sushi the specialty rolls were some of the best I have ever had including a unique spicy sushi sandwich made of Spicy tuna, Avocado, Eel and White American Cheese surrounded by a top and bottom layer of rice. Overall a great experience and definitely recomended for anybody who likes fresh sushi and refreshing drinks for very reasonable prices.

jcdolphin7

Amazing new Sushi bar and lounge in Hells Kitchen. The Sushi is the freshest that I have tasted in a very long time. Their awesome happy hour brings in the crowds, with their half price drinks. The space is truly amazing, from their mesquite wood bar, to their outdoor bamboo garden. I know I will surely be going back for one of their lycheeritas.

Pros: the sushi, the garden, and the DJ'S

Cons: nothing that I can think of
