This is for AT&T Wireless, no specific address. Before you sign up for a wireless plan with AT&T RUN the other way!!! They are very nice when you sign up. What you will find once locked into the contract even with the top of the line phone service stinks! You cannot talk to anyone if you are in a store, your calls will drop in the middle of your conversation, and you may not get your text messages for as long as three days. If you call them to deal with them they blame the equipment not their service,,,really??????? Regardless, you purchased the equipment from them so if that were the case (although these issues are not due to equipment, clearly), they are responsible. It is then their responsibility to get back to their supplier and work it out. Since you don't get the service promised you want to break your contract. Because they did not hold up their end you should not have to pay the cancellation fee. WRONG they refuse to bargin with you on that. Even if you offer half they refuse. Even if you involve the B BBB they lie through their teeth and somehow twist the story to also convince the BBB it is an equpment problem, SO???? it is your equipment AT&T. If you go ahead and break the contract they demand their money up front, you can access your account just for payments purposes. You have to put out money to get another phone service so you send them what you can afford with the intention of paying monthly until the fee is paid in full. They accept the first payment (as low as $10.00). Legally this means they accepted a payment contract with you. No way around it. They let you pay three to four months, then they cut off your access to your account on line and send you another bill demanding full payment. Remember they have already agreed to the payments by accepting the first one. They then have a collection agency contact you. The collection agency threatens you by sayin YOU AGREED to this contract. What they are forgetting is AT&T agreed to provide good service so they already broke their contract before you even got into payments issues. Also again legally they accepted the first payment, in fact they (in my case) accepted three payments. So the contract is legal and binding. Personally for the lousy little amount I owe them, they can wait until hell freezes over to get it. Put it on my credit, I don't really care. I am on a fixed income as I lost my job so they will get it when they get it. Period! Don't let yourself get swindled into their contracts. If at all possible avoid any phone service that makes you sign a two year contract.
